I just got home from a visit to uBreakiFix because my USB-C cable wouldn't plug in all the way on my Pixel 7a. Aaron took a look, removed a piece of something, and handed me back my phone with NO CHARGE! About 2 years ago, this same store replaced the screen on my prior phone, a Pixel 5a, and though I did have to wait a couple days for the new screen to arrive, they did a perfect replacement at a fair price. I would save your money if you want a battery replaced or any major phone repair. They replaced my battery in my iPhone 16 Pro incorrectly, so much so that it was restarting every couple minutes, went back the next day and the guy told me I had to file another claim for him to fix it, whilst also taking no responsibility for it. I ended up just shelling out money to get a new phone with my carrier so I wouldn't have to deal with them any longer. Each time I went in they were rude. Maybe caught them on an off day but come on y'all. Don't break my phone further and then tell me I have to deal with it. read more

Absolute lazy, horrible, didn't want to actually do any work to help my sons claim for a easy broken screen that a claim was made. He's had headaches for days from the bright light on screen and the worker didn't even try to help when he went to another store and the worker helped him completely and got it done within the hour. CMR worker didn't want to do his job, in fact told him he needed to do something that he really didn't need to do. Just ridiculous. Do not go to this store. I dropped my "precious" and the screen was unusable. Faint glowing from the cracked screen had me terrified. I went to Verizon who said if I added a 4th line to my account, the additional $30 for the next THREE YEARS would cover the cost of adding a new phone. I went to Best Buy, but they no longer work on Samsung phones. However the nice Geek Squad guy recommended uBreakiFix and the customer he was helping also recommended them. I cried the last time I had to set up a new phone so I was willing to try anything. I called them, a live person answered the phone, confirmed they had the parts in stock, and said they could fix it in 2 hours. I raced over and dropped off my phone. Went in expecting to spend hours and alot of money to get the charging port on my phone fixed. Aaron took my phone and returned about 30 seconds later with a working charging port! He discovered a small sticker that was embedded and covering the port. Not only was he quick, but Aaron did not charge a dime! Absolutely Horrible Experience - Avoid This Store at All Costs! I'm writing this review immediately after leaving the store because I am beyond frustrated and disappointed. Samsung customer support referred me here for an in-person inspection regarding a serious overheating issue with my phone. I came in expecting professional help--what I got instead was complete disregard. The moment I began explaining the problem, the store associate clearly had zero interest in listening. I even mentioned that I work as a wireless engineer and understand what's normal for device temperature. Still--no acknowledgment, no concern, no basic courtesy. His body language was dismissive, and at multiple points, I felt extremely uncomfortable by the way he looked at me. It was clear he had no intention of helping or even trying to understand the issue. I was completely brushed off without any inspection or troubleshooting. This is not just disappointing--it's infuriating that Samsung authorizes such unprofessional, disinterested stores to handle customer concerns. It reflects terribly on the brand. If you're dealing with any serious issue, do yourself a favor and stay far away from this location. They clearly don't care, and you'll just waste your time and energy. Samsung, this is unacceptable. Aaron is MVP! Storytime: I brought my phone in to get a broken screen repaired--screen was cracked, bust still worked. A technician replaced my screen and nothing was displaying on the new screen. He put my old broken screen back, but then that screen didn't work anymore. At first, the technician told me that my motherboard was busted and the whole phone needed to be replaced. Since this was an insurance claim, replacing the phone would cost me much more in deductable than replacing the broken screen. Not cool. I turned off my screen but a little segment of the screen showed some life. Aaron, another technician on the clock, took notice and tried another screen. Hot damn, the new screen worked! Turned out the motherboard wasn't busted and the first replacement screen was just defective. Thank you, Aaron! Glad someone competent and knowledgeable was there today to get my phone working back to normal! read more

Brought my Xbox in for an overheating issue. The technician said it just needed a deep clean and quoted me $120. I told him I'd do it myself, and he seemed a bit offended. After a thorough cleaning, the problem was still there. When I brought it back the next day, the same technician--still condescending--said the fan was the problem and quoted $175. He even pointed out other parts as "broken" that worked perfectly fine. I checked online: the fan costs about $20. Don't trust this place unless you want to pay an outrageous markup for something you can easily fix yourself. read more

Estimated cost should be in writing. One man estimated the price to put in a new battery for my iPhone to be over $200 but when I saw the other guy, he said that I owed $140. So, I have questions about the integrity of their pricing. Was the first guy intending to pocket the difference? I told the second guy but he didn't appear interested in knowing more. He flippantly said, "Well, if you want to pay $250, you can." Also, they will talk at great length to a customer while you stand there waiting. I waited while they talked about what was on the tv! And, when another customer and I were conversing about the annoyance of remembering passwords, the guy who wanted to overcharge me intruded on my conversation. Went in to get a diagnostic for an iMac having some issues. Was eventually "greeted" by a young kid named Aaron. Pretty sure it's the same guy that Charlene B. and others mentioned in their reviews. Before I even finished explaining what the issue was, he proceeded to rant about his personal disdain for Apple products, and without even looking at the computer, he declared the hard drive must be corrupted and needed complete replacement, again complaining about the quality of Apple products overall and mentioning that he he used to work for Apple. His rude, seeming condescending attitude made me very skeptical since I'am familiar with troubleshooting Mac's over the years. I left without giving him the benefit of the doubt and later was actually able to fix the issue myself after a little more digging online! Turns out he was completely wrong in his assessment that could have cost me for an unnecessary and expensive repair. What was worse was his attitude. Apparently the owner doesn't care about their customers since this guy comes up specifically in a lot of one star complaints. This will be my first and last experience there and would certainly not trust them. read more

Upon my arrival, I was not greeted by the Asian male employee. He was with another customer but it did take him about 5 minutes to acknowledge me. He tells me that they don't cover T-mobile insurance. He was so incredibly rude and condescending about it. I came in when the store opened and there was only one other customer so his bothered demeanor was not appreciated. He did say he received the T-mobile claim which states that UbreakIfix was supposed to send a confirmation email and call to confirm the appointment, which they didn't. My phone had died and wouldn't respond to any charger I had. I brought it to the ubreakifix in Carmel Mtn expecting a $200+ repair. I spoke to Aaron who tried a charger that was apparently different than mine because it began to take a charge and show signs of life. We left it plugged in for a few minutes and it would boot up just fine. Aaron could have easily kept the phone for a diagnostic examination and charged for that, but he simply gave it a quick charge and gave it back to me at no cost. Kudos to Aaron for not taking advantage of the situation. I'll definitely bring it back if/when my phone does actually have a problem. Thanks again Aaron! read more

The add says they fix any cell phone, any tablet and any other devices. So much for their horse manure. It's Wednesday July 19 @ about noon. I drove past 4 other places to get a minor fix on my iPhone 12. When I got to this business, a very young Hispanic man greeted me, but that was the end. When I tried explaining the problem, he danced around, until finally he said they were not equipped to replace my SIM card. He even put the card from his personal phone into my phone, and VOILA! the problem disappeared like a fart in a wind storm. But he just said Sorry you have to go to Verizon to fix the problem. My complaint has always been that the younger generations have no communication skills, and such was the case here. I'll never go back to this store again, and you should not either. I took my laptop to Best Buy under their Geek Squad contract. I had a VERY bad, grinding fan. Geek Squad could not manage the repair, but they DID recommend uBreakiFix 4 miles away. Good advice! I brought it in to theUbreak Poway location. They decided they could fix it. I put half down as required (a reasonable request). I was not hopeful. I was ready to buy a new laptop. But turns out, they DID fix it, and fixed it well. Didn't even need the password. The price was (in my mind) quite reasonable -- $170. They had to order the part (a pair of fans) and had it within three days -- calling me when it was ready. Fans work, and are quieter than ever (an 8 year old laptop). The only reason I give them "only" 4 stars is that they told me to take my adaptor home when they should have held on to it for testing. The battery was drained. So I had to wait 20+ minutes in the shop while it charged up (I brought in the adapter). That being said, I'll GLADLY use them again, and recommend them to others with computers that need repair. read more

Both times I came in (to drop off and pick up phone), nobody was in the front. When I came to pick up my phone, I rang the bell and got an annoyed "I'm coming" from the back. The guy that "helped" me really acted like he didn't want to be there the whole time and handed me back my phone like I was an annoying kid who lost it and he went through a bunch of trouble to get it for me. I'm paying you for a service? You don't have to be so rude. The service wasn't even cheap. I basically paid a premium to get it fixed same day instead of doing it myself. What shop charges basically $60/hr for two hours to do a screen swap? It really wasn't worth going here. With how much they're ripping people off, you'd think they'd be happier. HORRIBLE! Came in to get my phone fixed, and they said it will be done in a couple of days once the parts come in. I called the day the phone was promised to be repaired by, and the guy over the phone said, "Oh, there's no tracking number for the parts we ordered. I dont know what's going on." I say ok, I'll try back tomorrow. I call the next day, and then they say, "Oh, we really have no idea when the parts will come in. It could be weeks." Why the hell did you promise me a specific day the phone would be repaired by in the first place??? Also, why am I, as the customer, doing all the follow-up?? The store should be following up with me by letting me know the parts never came and that there will be a delay. Unprofessional. Another Samsung Z Flip4 - Screen Protector replacement review. While this store is listed as an authorized service center by Samsung, it was actually recommended to me by a technician from a Best Buy south of this location. My phone's screen protector began to bubble on the left side where the screen folds in. I know there's a discussion about whether or not removing the protector voids the warranty. In my case, I decided to not remove the protector before the repair. I went in to start the repair order since I was told over the phone that they didn't have the item in stock. I later found out they had one in the back and was able to start the replacement. Just gave them some basic info and they started right away. I picked up my phone about 3 hours later. The screen protector came out great with no issues to report. The job was covered by Samsung and I didn't have to pay for anything. If (or when) I have to replace my Flip 4 screen protector again, I would come back here for the job. read more

Disappointed with the experience of this store. I was going to get a screen protector replacement from them for my Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4. My phone is under warranty, and Samsung provides warranty service through this store. Samsung provides a free screen protector replacement during the first year of owning the phone and mine broke, so I figured I'd have them replace it. I had a claim # from Samsung. I went into the store and tell the guy my claim number and situation. He asks where my screen protector is and I told him I already took it off the phone since it was broken. He claims that taking off the screen protector voids the warranty, which is not true at all. It was true for the first generation of fold/flip but hasn't been true for the new ones for 3 years. I correct him and he says "oh ok". He tells me they'll order a screen protector so they can replace it for me. I get a call a week later saying "We have a screen protector in stock to replace it on your phone. It will be $40 to replace it". I'm pretty surprised because Samsung told me it would be free replacement. I call another UbreakIFix store, and also call a best buy which Samsung listed as places that cover my warranty. Both stores said it would be free to replace based on the info from my warranty claim number. So this guy was lying to me and probably trying to scam money from me. August Stop 43 Came here for an issue with our Samsung phone still under warranty. The staff are very helpful and able to explain the whole process. Thankfully for us the entire repair was free, but we were told it would start costing around $40 moving forward given the warranty. We were told the repair would be a 2 hr wait and they would call us by phone. Thankfully we were surrounded by lots of stores we could walk around. The guy behind the counter was totally devoid of personality. No sense of urgency, service, or basic manners whatsoever. Asked me what phone I had and when I told him it was an iPhone 11 Pro Max, he immediately barked out "$329!" When I stated $329 is literally what Apple would charge me for an OEM screen, my guy then barked "WE ARE NOT APPLE, WE DONT ANSWER TO APPLE!" Do not take your laptop here. They replaced my MacBook screen, but could not get the webcam to work on any new screen. Then about 8 months later the hinge is completely broken and backlighting is messed up. They couldn't and wouldn't fix it claiming they only offer a 2 month warranty on their fixes. When they tried a second screen and the webcam didn't work on that one, they switched it back to the original one they put on, making it obvious that they used a worse quality monitor. They also seem to make up prices on the spot. On the phone I got one price and in shop a different. When I said I was quoted lower on the phone, the guy said ok. read more

I had a horrible experience at this store. My Samsung galaxy Zfold3 has a factory-installed screen protector (as this is a foldable phone with a more delicate inner display). After nearly 11 months of ownership, the adhesive on the bottom edge of the screen protector began to fail, and as a result the screen protector began to peel. After researching online, I discovered that this screen protector could be replaced and would be covered under the warranty of this phone. As a result, I booked an appointment and went into the store. I was greeted by the front desk employee who immediately had a **Damn, a customer just walked in and now I have to work** type of attitude. I explained to the employee my situation and he immediately grabbed my phone and started to yank the case I had on my phone off. In the process of doing so, he cracked my phone case and had nothing to say other than "I feel like I'm going to break it." Like dude--you just did. After that, he tells me I need to leave my phone overnight for the repair, or come in early the next day. The store was no where near closing time, and so I asked the employee how long something like this would take. He then tells me "I don't know. So what do you wanna do." WHAT? Don't you work here? How can you not have an estimated time of completion? How does this inspire any sort of confidence that the store can do the repair? It does not make sense for you to ask your customer to leave the phone with them, and not at least give an estimate of when the work will be completed. Needless to say, I walked out without having the phone repaired. But the fact that I walked in, and had my phone case destroyed by the employee, along with their terrible attitude and customer service, I cannot say I would recommend nor trust this place with any type of repair. read more

My wife brought her iPhone in for screen repair with Verizon warrantee. When she got home she realized the power button and swipe from top of screen down does not work. She brought the phone back to have uBreakiFix fix what they broke and she was turned away by the manager who said she needs to start another claim with Verizon. Verizon charges a fee for each claim, this company gets paid to work on each claim. Sounds like fraud to me! read more

Dropped off my iPhone X to get a battery replacement and was quoted $110. I took the L because my battery was deteriorating rapidly and I couldn't wait to get one shipped for me. The guy who took my phone was a young hispanic guy with what seemed like a speech problem, but he was patient and he didn't mind when I misunderstood him or took time to process what he said. He told me it would take 1-2 hours to replace and calibrate. When I got the text to pick it up, an asian guy with a bucket hat and glasses came to give it to me, but he had terrible service. Acted like I was a waste of his time and that my questions inconvenienced him. Didn't give me time to check the new battery health or anything either. I'd asked him, "So this is calibrated and everything?" "Is it supposed to be at 14%?" He said, "Well they usually come dead. You can't ship a battery with a charge," like I was stupid for asking that question. You 100% can send a small battery with charge, typically when I bought batteries on my own they came at 60%. Also, I waited two hours for "calibration" and they didn't even bother to charge it? Why is my phone almost dying when you return it to me? They couldn't given it to me at 100% to show it could hold a full charge, or at least 50%. I went to my car and it immediately dropped to 13% wth dude. Not to mention they cracked and chipped my screen protector. I had a few hairline cracks, but glass was straight up missing from three corners. The battery comes with warranty, but I'm not even sure they'd honor it. Keeping the receipt just in case, since they seem shady, but I also don't trust them now. read more

I had a really bad experience here. Day 1 - brought in my Google Pixel for an issue with a faulty power button. The customer service was a little unprofessional. They had me scribble my contact info on a scrap piece of receipt paper. Day 2 - they called to tell me my "motherboard went bad" while they were trying to fix the button - I lost all my photos and contacts. They told me they could replace the motherboard, but it would take a few more days to get new parts and it wouldn't bring any of my photos or contacts back. I requested a new replacement phone. They said no. Day 3 - they called to tell me that the button was broken from the inside and that this somehow "voided my warranty". They made me come pick up my broken phone. So they broke my phone and then just handed it back. Really disappointed with the actions of this store, and never once did I hear an "I'm sorry" or "what can we do to make this better" read more

I'm at a loss for words at how bad my experience has been here. Gabriel has been my point of contact and while I believe he may have some personality flaws that lead to poor customer service this is way outside the realm of what is acceptable. I have had to drive to this location four separate times, and my phone is still not fixed. I'll have to drive up a fifth time. it's an hour each way for me, but the location in Santee didn't have the parts available and requested I come here. It should be noted. the staff and people working at the Santee location were fantastic. Gabriel however tells me that's how it is and I'll have to drive back up again. I brought my phone in because it couldn't charge with a cable. it would however, charge wirelessly. now the phone doesn't work at all. it's a brick. and they have no idea how to fix it. in the meantime I've had to buy another phone to use the exact same T-Mobile 5G SIM card works perfectly fine in that phone. but every time they tell me my phone is fixed and we try and use it, it throws an error or doesn't work. Every business has trouble sometimes and sometimes there's technical issues that nobody wants. I think the problem here is the lack of customer service, zero empathy and basically telling me to kick rocks is what makes this so much worse. I brought my laptop to your store for a screen replacement through the Asurion HomeTech+ program, and I ended up with a laptop that does not work properly. Not only did you fail to fix the screen, but you also damaged the battery and the processor. Moreover, you treated me with disrespect and accused me of lying about the condition of my laptop. Let me explain the situation in detail. I dropped off my laptop at your store on November 15, 2023. You told me you would call me in one to two days to give me an update on the repairs or if you have to replace the whole thing. That call never came. I called you a week later and you said you were waiting on a new screen from the manufacturer. A few days later, you called me and said it was repaired and ready to pick up. I brought it home and found out that the battery did not work and the processor was slow. I took it back to your store and explained the problem. You condescendingly asked me how I knew the processor was slow if the battery did not work. I told you I plugged it in to the outlet. You said you would get back to me in a day or two. Today, a week later, I called your store to get an update. You said it was ready. I went to pick it up and checked it before leaving. To my surprise, it still did not work. It took nearly five minutes to get to the home screen. I asked you what you did to fix it. You stuttered and said you opened it up and everything looked ok, it must be a hardware issue. I closed the laptop and told you to call me when it was ready. This evening, I got a call from Aaron from your store. He told me that you are not going to fix the laptop and that I need to come get it. I tried to explain that when I brought it to your store the first time, the only issue with it was the cracked screen, that the battery and processor were fine. He basically said that the laptop worked fine when it left your store last week. He implied that I was dishonest or lying about the laptop's condition. I asked him if you did a quality check on it before it left your store and if you did one this time. He said you did. So I asked him what you did to my laptop over the last week. He told me to call Asurion, that you were not going to fix it. At the end of the call, he was supposed to give me the number to U Break I Fix corporate office. Well, he gave me the wrong number. He gave me the number to Asurion home appliance repair. My recommendation is to find a different location if you have to use U Break I Fix. read more

Brought in my PS5 because this is the place my insurance referred me to. Console was not connecting to my TV. First time took a few days. When I took it home, the issue was still there. When I called to ask if I could bring it in, they said I had to open a new insurance claim. Second time through, they fixed that issue. But then, my controllers were not connecting to the PS5. So I had to open another claim. Both techs I worked with acted like I was a huge inconvenience to their day and were rude. Both times I got it my PS5 back, it was dirty and covered in some type of residue. Once I get my console back, I am going to speak with my insurance. Because it's clear that they either can't get the job done or are running a scam. Not worth dealing with the BS. read more
