My wife and I went through the build process with UBuildIt in 2018-2019. Our house was completed November of 2019. To say that I was pleased with UBuildIt doesn't even begin to describe the process. Everyone at UBuildIt is a true professional and is incredibly helpful and transparent. We had the pleasure of working directly with Jamie as our planning consultant and Frank as our general contractor. They were always there to answer our questions and were available to us at all times throughout the build process. They help from day one with lot identification and evaluation all the way to your final inspection. Unfortunately, they won't help you move all of your personal items into your wonderful new house! However, they are there to support you in any way that they can. Joe, UBuildIt owner, even helped me 'break' into our house when the key from our lock box got mistakenly left in a completely locked house. I don't know many other company owners that will do that for you (on a Sunday morning nonetheless). One of the big differences between UBuildIt and other 'traditional' builders is that they offer their services on a flat fee basis. Thus, they truly have your best interests as a homeowner at heart. They make the same amount of money whether you buy a $10,000 toilet or a $10 one. That's not true of other builders. Their process is very well-refined. They are experts in the construction business and will provide tons of value throughout the design and build process. Most new home owners have unrealistic budget expectations. UBuildIt provides their guidance and advice to keep you on budget and let you know when your expectations aren't necessarily realistic. The network of preferred subcontractors UBuildIt has established who will actually build your house are just as fantastic as they are. If you are interested in building a house, I highly suggest that you contact UBuildIt for a consult. You will not be disappointed. First of all, let me say that we did not actually build a house with U Build It, so I cannot attest to their level of service after contracts have been signed/ground has been broken, etc. (which is the ONLY reason why I am giving them 2 stars instead of 1). We were so turned off at the initial meeting that we opted to continue searching for builders, and apparently, the representative we met with opted not to work with us, either. In short, we met with her for one hour and she took four...FOUR...personal phone calls within that time frame. We didn't say anything about it at the time, but no customer should have to tell a prospective builder how unprofessional that is. I can see maybe one phone call if it is urgent, but nothing about her personal calls seemed catastrophic enough to interrupt a meeting for. Strike one. We had received a PDF pamphlet of information with testimonials from previous customers. One customer had built a house which looked almost exactly like what we were looking for, within the price range we are staying in. Great, right? Wrong. During our meeting, the person we met with said that pamphlet is not only for their Oklahoma branch, and "prices are a lot cheaper in Oklahoma so we can't build for that cheap", but the pamphlet is also 8 years old? Why did you send it to us, then?! Strike two. Strike three happened when we told the rep the price range we wanted to stay in, between house building and land. The look on her face and the "well, there's no way we can build within that price range" statement that followed was enough. We have met with several builders over the last year, and our price range has been perfectly compatible for everyone else. Nonetheless, we cordially finished the meeting and we asked her to send us information on their simplest model house, thinking that maybe, just MAYBE, we would keep this company on the table. She said she would email the info to us the next day. She never did. We never heard from her again after our initial meeting. We felt this lady was nothing short of rude and insulting. Will not even consider U Build It after our meeting with her. read more

I cannot express how much we loved working with Jamie, Joe, Frank, Jessica, and the rest of the UBuildIt team to build our dream. Everything worked exactly as they said. They advertised transparency and predictability. We got both for the entire project (except the weather). Conversations with other builders felt as uncomfortable as buying a used car. UBuildIt was completely different right from the start. They advised us on our decisions and helped guide our project to success while weaving the pieces we wanted to build ourselves into the schedule. When issues did pop up we felt completely supported by UBuildIt as they advocated for us and promptly got things back on track. We now have a beautiful new home and a deeper sense of pride and connection with something our whole family helped build. It didn't hurt that we saved a ton of money putting in a lot of labor ourselves. I highly recommend UBuildIt and looking back would absolutely make the same choice for a partner again. read more

I built a home recently with Ubuildit and was sadly disappointed. I have to say I love my house but that is because I built it. After the initial help with picking out counters, lights, flooring, etc there was little to no help. When we would get a call about something needing to be done, WE usually went or got told to get it done. There was little to no communication from ubuildit and when we raised concerns about the build or communication we were either falsely reassured (talked to over our head), never heard back, or told things would change but never did. When the project hit a speed bump we had to figure out the solution to the problem and then call everyone with the new game plan, including construction issues (and we had no background in construction). Multiple suggestions to the expediter and different contractors were met with no that's not how we are going to do it only to later find out that we had to change to OUR original suggestion. There were many things that came up that we weren't informed of prior or during our informational period, like the multiple trips to Menards to pick up stuff needed for the house, or the multiple phone calls to contractors to clarify differences between what our plans stated and what they were being told by UBuildIt. Ubuildit gets multiple bids from different contractors but when it comes time to get the job done Ubuildit is the last house a contractor will work on. When we were told that multiple phone calls had been made to reach a contractor went unsuccessful, we tried and got them to call us back within a few hours. Makes one think if contractors don't like working with Ubuildit or had they truly been calling? Joe the "owner" never once called us to see how things were going or stopped out at our job site once. Since we have moved in and given them the rest of their money we haven't gotten a thanks for your business, congrats, or well wishes. The money we paid to Ubuildit was not worth it and I would not recommend them to anyone unless you want to build your house with some suggestions from someone else, I would advise shopping builders and finding one that will build what you want at the quality you want. We self contracted our first home build about 15 years ago and I never thought we would take on that task again. After we met with Joe at UBuildit, our comfort level skyrocketed and we decided to once again take on a home building project. The coordinators are great and the staff was responsive and friendly. I have no reservations on recommending them. You can contribute as much or as little as you want and the whole process has been super transparent. That's a big plus for us as we get to see and pay all the invoices ourselves and really track where the money goes. We chose some "preferred vendors" suggested by the UBuildit team and chose other vendors on our own such as flooring, tile, cabinets and counters. The whole process is something that I believe you just can't get when hiring a typical home builder. It does take some work but the communication with our project coordinator made things progress pretty smooth. We kept in mind that we are getting a completely custom home for tens of thousands less than we would be up-charged from a "typical builder". The value and experience of the UBuildit team second to none. In all we like the fact that we can do our own back splashes, shop for our own lighting fixtures and take the time to figure out floors, appliances etc. without having to decide in front of a salesperson. We are currently building with UBuildIt and are coming up to the completion of our home. We have loved working with them. We had met with several traditional custom builders prior, all which didn't get the direction we wanted go and came in well over size and budget and left us feeling discouraged. We then met with UBuildIt, with their knowledge and experience we were able to get the style and size house we wanted and they kept us within our budget. It is such a unique way to build a home because everything is completely transparent! You see where every penny of your money goes and to who it goes to! There is also access to a calendar that you can see the progress and scheduling of your build! You learn so much about the process and have a great team of people that guide you every step of the way and offer professional advice and problem solving! Their knowledge, professionalism and communication is outstanding. It has been such an awesome experience. read more
