Went to SJCC yesterday for counseling appointment overall counseling appointment was cool, the…read morecounselor was really informative but when i asked her about registration priority she was nice about it and told me to ask admission and records because they would know so after the appointment i went downstairs to admission and records and talked to this older lady and was asking her how can i know what group I am for registration and she just gave me an attitude and told me the counselors would know . I told her that the counselor brought me down here and to ask her but she still gave me an attitude (i have a speech impairment) so when i was stuttering a bit and wasn't getting my words completely out there she gave me a look of annoyance for asking her a simple question.

Being a part of a huge shift was a learning experience and I was grateful to have had the support of several department heads. No one talked down to me or made me feel less than. Working on a campus surrounded by nature and spotting a deer on the daily brought me a sense of presence and peace that I enjoyed on my breaks. I would have stayed with NDNU but I moved out of the SF Bay Area. I enjoyed working with all the faculty and staff, but I especially enjoyed supporting current and future students. Though I was never a student I was impressed by the attention to furthering one's education by promoting small class sizes. What a way to feel seen and heard! Anywho, I'm rambling. If you have an opportunity to attend NDNU or work there, don't hesitate to apply. 4 stars because pay could be higher to meet cost of living in California.

((sniff sniff)) A few years ago I completed my Undergrad in Accounting & Finance here. Last December, I completed my last Graduate class. (Graduation ceremonies occur once a year in May.) NDNU is located in Belmont, surrounded by lush trees, wonderful weather, pretty animals, and even a beautiful mansion (Ralston Hall). NDNU has an extensive faculty of distinguished staff and professors with prestine wisdom and experience. The MBA program follows a stellar curriculum, applying assignments and projects to current, real world/global issues. Another great thing about NDNU is it's comprised of well diversed students with different backgrounds. Having such a diverse group enhances your education and brings more experience to the table, which is required in our global economy. Tuition at NDNU is definitely on the pricier side. However, this is a private university and it's worth it. Classes are intimate, enabling students with the luxury of a more one-on-one type of education. Students are not considered numbers here, but rather treated as well respected peers. Regarding education, you get exactly what you put into it. Each person may have their own opinion of this school, but what really matters is what you take away from what you've learned. NDNU has provided the necessary tools (ie staff, professors, and program), now it's up to each student & what they want to do with it. P.S. I am so done with writing school papers!

I was looking to add a little spark in my life and haven't had any luck in the dating scene. So why…read morenot try learning a new skill like welding! I've always been fascinated with how metal is fused together to make beautiful structures. I found out about a series of night courses being offered at Las Positas College that are funded in partnership with Lawrence Livermore Laboratory and the NNSA to provide deployment of workplace skills. Even though the class goes past my bedtime from 6pm-10pm every Tuesday evening, I jumped on this opportunity to learn a new skill. This welding class is an introduction to TIG and MIG welding. These two processes are widely used in manufacturing industries. The course consists of lecture time and hands on shop time with an instructor for each session located in state of the art building 3500. I'm three sessions in and already gaining more understanding of basic welded joints. I look forward to every Tuesday evening and can't wait to see what what project we'll learn about and working on. I attest that you can still teach old dogs News tricks!

My impression of Alameda is, I hate the town, solely because of this testing site. 1. My computer was slow. I informed the administrators, who restarted the computer, but it was still slow and I politely informed them of no improvement every time I went out for a break. The screen would stall every time I pressed NEXT for 15 seconds. Imagine staring at a blank screen for each passage thinking about how much life sucks. Ample time to calculate how much time I was losing, because I would lose 2-4 seconds on the timer. Multiply that for each time you press next and how many "easy" questions can be answered in that time. I definitely had to seriously consider if I wanted to "go back" to a previous passage, which I did once. If you check answers at the end, better hope they're all on the same passage. On the bright side, it forces you to clear your mind for the next passage. (always have to find the silver lining) 2. The ear muffs don't work, but hey, what can you do. Prometric should allow ear plugs to be used, but maybe they don't think it's sanitary or that people would sue if it got jammed in a test-taker's ear. 3. The door entering the testing site is "light" as in it slams everytime someone goes in or out. Usually out, because the administrator controls the door when they first let people in. I told them about this too but they didn't care. 4. There's no private parking. Just letting you know. You have to pay for garage parking a block away or park on the street, taking notice of street-sweeping days. Not much of an issue for me, but I would consider it if I took the test in the winter months and walking on the streets after a late test. 5. Maybe I'm a test center snob, but there are much nicer places around the Bay. 6. If your test is screwy, you can write a letter to amcas, which will write a letter to you saying you can show their letter to the medical schools you apply to. Peanuts. 7. The good thing about the test center is that there is a yogurt place, peets, starbucks, (jamba? I don't remember), a mexican restaurant, and american food - hot dog place, etc. So it's not like I was cranky going into the exam, just coming out. 8. The staff is friendly enough.

I sat at cubicle #15, and unfortunately, the people working at the center have to walk into the room and walk by that desk in order to press a button every 5 minutes or so. I believe this is done so that there is evidence that the testing room is being monitored. Even though I was wearing earplugs, the sound of the walking and the way the floor vibrated distracted my attention every time they came in. My test was 8 hours long, so you can imagine that after 4 hours or so, a quiet/ non distracting environment helps if you need to keep pounding through the questions. Another distraction was that around 3pm, a girl was seated next to me to take her exam. Her exam must have had lots of written answers, because she typed and typed. She was a loud typer, so not even my ear plugs could entirely drown it out. I am thinking or writing a formal complaint about this, because I do think all of this affected my ability to adequately maintain concentration while I was answering some of the questions... especially as it got down to the last few sections.

She teaches through story telling and makes real estate concepts easy to understand. Always willing to answer questions and repeat concepts that students have a difficultly understanding. She kindly brings in donuts at the last day of each course. What a treat and something great to look forward too! The class is hosted in the Keller Williams office, which provides refreshments such as cold water, hot water, tea and little snacks. The location is great as there are a many restaurants and bar on the DT, PA area. I would often get hot choc at blue bottle (walking distance) to sip on during class. Money well spent at CA Realty. Highly recommend for anybody interested in starting a real estate career.
