After suffering from severe, nonstop, debilitating headaches every single day for over three years following the birth of my son, I saw approximately 15-20 doctors across multiple states searching for answers. Time and time again, I was told it was anxiety, stress, or something psychological. Some providers even made me feel as though they suspected I was exaggerating my pain or simply seeking medication rather than genuinely trying to find out what was wrong. Dr. Win was the first physician who truly listened. She believed me when I said something was wrong and reassured me that living with severe headaches 24 hours a day, 7 days a week was not normal. She never treated me like a drug seeker, never dismissed my symptoms, and never made me feel like my concerns were all in my head. Instead, she took the time to investigate the root cause of my symptoms. Because of her persistence, compassion, and medical expertise, I was referred to the right specialists and ultimately diagnosed with a Chiari malformation that had gone undiagnosed for years. Without Dr. Win, I may never have received the answers and treatment I desperately needed. What makes Dr. Win exceptional is that she genuinely cares. She spends time with her patients, asks questions, listens carefully, and refuses to settle for easy explanations when something doesn't add up. She is incredibly intelligent, compassionate, and dedicated to helping her patients find real answers. Dr. Xuan-Loc Nguyen saw me today at the Rocklin location. I had to unfortunately get my fingernail removed for the first time due to a work injury. I was nervous, but they numbed it so I didn't feel a thing, just slight prick and pressure beforehand! And the nail bed is thankfully not infected, just slight bleeding. Doc applied an ointment, gauze and self-adhesive bandage wrap. I only have to keep it on a week, changing it out every 24 hours! He said nail will grow back in 1 year. The nurses were sweet to our fussy toddler and gave her a teddy bear to keep her entertained while mommy was busy! It doesn't hurt to ask, they had fidget spinners and blew bubbles for her as well! I'd recommend this location, great, professional doctor and staff! I love UC Davis Health, so I'll be back for routine shots, etc! SYOY! :-) read more

I had a very disappointing experience during my first visit at UC Davis Medical Center with Dr. Khaing Khaing Win. During the appointment, the doctor asked me if I had any areas of discomfort, and I mentioned two minor issues. She then asked if I wanted to receive treatment for them, and I clearly said no -- I was only sharing the information for her reference, not requesting additional care. Despite that, I later received a charge related to those brief comments, which was never discussed or agreed upon. What makes it even worse is that I had told Dr. Win beforehand that I switched doctors because of unwanted billing problems at my previous clinic. She assured me that such things would not happen here, but the same issue happened again. This experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing. I expected honesty and transparency, but instead, I felt misled. If you value clear communication and fair billing, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. read more

It took two weeks to have their receptionist call me and inform me I might have cancer. Not the Doctor. Not a Nurse....a receptionist... No opportunity to ask questions, no referral to an Oncologist (cancer specialist). Nothing. If MyChart didn't notify me of test results as soon as they come in, I wouldn't have known for two weeks. Newish building in the middle of empty lots in every direction. It is like they planned ahead and the infrastructure hasn't even been put in yet and there stands this UCD / Mercy Foundation "Placer Center for Health." You arrive there really an exit ahead and wind your way around to it. It is quite large and houses lots of different doctors and specialty care partners lab, imaging, scanning, infusion, etc. The staff were friendly and the place was nice. The parking area has a drop off lane plus a lot of disabled parking spots out front and plenty of regular parking. It is convenient for Placer County for sure but is probably doable from Sacramento or Nevada Counties as well. Driving to this particular branch of the UC Davis Medical system for the first time is a surreal experience. You pass through a city, see the Thunder Valley Casino on your left, and then on your right, one lone building sitting by itself on a massive piece of property. I mean seriously, every other block is buildings side by side, then there is what looks like 40 acres of nothing with a tiny medical building right in the middle. Something about it being granted to them by the casino, an employee said. Anyway, I digress. This is a super clean, super efficient branch with top-notch everything, from the equipment to the staff. I came out of my way for a scan here because a) it's COVID and the hospital closer to me was overrun and b) it was the only facility available with an appointment. I got my scan (a routine thing - nothing to fret over) in no time and was seen exactly when they said they would see me. Both the front desk person and the technician were friendly and efficient. Worst customer service ever! Prepare to wait for lab testing. One person only, who signs in AND does all the testing. It's like the "Soup Nazi" routine, so get it right or "No test for you!" I really don't like coming here and it not the needles or blood, it's the completely unsatisfactory customer service. The ladies in the Infusion dept are amazing. Always cheerful and responsive to needs. They are thourogh, and helpful. Because patients are here for so long, and it is chilly, they have televisions, snacks, tea, coffee and juice. (Fresh donuts were avail today) Warm blankets, pillows and cute handmade knitted hats are also available. **Be aware, you CANNOT wear perfume scents. Even lotion or scented hand soap can cause not only patients, but staff, allergic reactions. read more

Came in for an utrasound. The signs are very confusing as to where to go. I went upstairs and asked and was sent back downstairs. At least she sent me in the right direction. The staff in the radiology department was really nice. The ultrasound tech Melissa was extremely nice. I've had ultrasounds on my legs before where they put so much pressure on your groin it makes you want to cry. She however, was very gentle. It's a bit tricky getting to this place. I saw it from the freeway. But my gps took me all around through a neighborhood. It's smack dab in the middle of a residential neighborhood too. Glad I don't have to come here often. read more

Labs I've ever been to over several decades have always had the techs do the paperwork; and that said, the UCDMG Lab system works very well and better than any I've used! The things I like about it is the comfortable seating, pleasant setting, and efficiency of the Lab staff! We were established as new patients when my family moved here in 2013. My insurance changed so I started to go to a Sutter provider but my mother remained a patient. I called today to schedule an appointment and they refused to scheduled since she had not been seen since 2016, they are claiming she is a new patient and the doctors are not accepting new patients. My mother has a herniated disk which may require surgery and now because of UC Davis not accepting her even though she is not a new patient, I have to hunt and find a provider that is willing to take new patients. I completely understand not taking new patients but she is not a new patient. In addition, as I was trying to speak, the representative kept interrupting and trying to talk over me. I had to finally ask her if she would allow me to speak. Thanks UC Davis for your wonderful customer service (please read that with sarcasm). I will not be returning to your facility, it was bad customer service. Within 5 minutes, I had a return call from Nicole that they would not accept my mother as a "new patient" (even though she is not). I called Sutter Medical Foundation right away and even though she has never been a patient of Sutter, they were able to accommodate and get her today, the very day that I called to schedule. I agree with the other reviewers that the lab is very slow moving and not well run. Having said that, I LOVE Dr. Nguyen at the primary care clinic on the second floor. She is easy to schedule with, very thorough in her exam, kind and sweet with my kids. I also love her assistant Nancy. They remember us all by name and very thoughtful about following up on things (for example, I mentioned at another appointment that I was interested in getting a flu shot but UC Davis was out at the time. Without even asking, they called me to let me know when additional flu vaccine had been received and scheduled me an appointment the next day). Even though this is not a pediatric practice (they are family practice and also see children) they always make my kids feel great and allow them to pick out stickers and lollipops. They are conveniently located across from Whitney Ranch. They make everything so easy, I really appreciate it!! read more
