Way better selection than the downtown store, although this store is not open on Sundays like the one on 2nd Street. I picked up a UCD pullover hoodie featuring one cool cow! They didn't have any small sizes, but I figured I could make a medium work since I didn't wanna go home empty-handed. Over the years, I misplaced all of my stuff from my college days, so I jumped at the opportunity to find a replacement while on my way to Sac for the weekend. The store doesn't offer posters of the university or of anything really, except the egghead sculptures. No thanks. They do offer plenty of gifts and accessories though, including a collection of UCD sanrio products. Being on campus, of course they sell electronics as well as textbooks downstairs. When making my purchase, the staff ran into technical issues at the front counter, but they eventually found a resolution without too much of a delay. I love UCD's Campus Store. It's way cooler than the campus stores at any of the college campuses I've attended, including UCSB and CSUS. The Campus Store is located at the Memorial Union, next to the Marketplace. It's close to several eateries, a campus bus hub, and the Quad. Like most campus stores, this one carries a large selection of campus themed clothing, gifts, and trinkets. They even have clothes for specific majors, like the Betty Irene School of Nursing. Inside of the campus store are the bookstore, the student tech support hub, and an Amazon pickup locker. I was surprised by how many electronics they had for sale, including things like laptops and portable Bluetooth speakers. The food selection is not terrible. While it's definitely not a grocery store, there are a few cold cases that carry the same salads and sandwiches sold at the nearby Marketplace. Additionally, there was a whole wall full of artisan oils, vinegars, olives, jams, honeys, etc., many of which were produced at UC Davis. They're known for being an agricultural school, so, this is a pretty neat way to showcase their talent. Most of the items seemed reasonably priced as compared to other college bookstores. I would definitely come back if I need anything next time I'm on campus. read more

It's aiite in here. It used to be THE PLACE to go for everything. Computers, textbooks, stationery, UCD clothing...all of it. Not so much anymore. It's the end of the quarter I'm told, so the supply of books downstairs is low. Makes sense, as they have to re-stock with whatever texts the professors select for next quarter. Went in looking for a license plate frame for the new car. Unfortunately, they did not have the veterinary medicine frames at this on-campus location. So I packed up and made my way downtown. Ya, Downtown Davis has a UCD bookstore. Strange. If you're a student here, blow some of that Mommy and Daddy scholarship money on a mug and make them smile. Hopefully, anyways. I needed a couple of Engineering Computation Pads, so I paid a visit to the UC Davis Campus Store at Memorial Union. Gone are the days when I recall going to the college bookstore just to buy books. My visit to the UC Davis Campus store was quite a shopping extravaganza. In addition to textbooks and class supplies, there are two-floors packed with all kinds of stuff such as university spirit wear, water bottles, bike gear, stuffed animals, backpacks, messenger bags, art supplies, drafting tools, a superb selection of writing implements, computers, tablets, personal devices, apple watches, spiral notebooks, candy, soda, and snacks, just to name a few. I was perusing the technology department when I realized they carry retro suitcase style record players. Yep they carry Crosley Cruiser record players here, and they are economically priced. The record players come in assorted "current" colors like lemon yellow, pink, and lime green. They also have a black leather suitcase with the inside lined in red satin type fabric and black Crosley lettering. I was impressed with the excellent customer service I received from the clerk who helped me, Herman. Herman let me look on his computer at the different colors of Crosley suitcases and he even ran downstairs a couple of times to look the different colors that I was interested in check out. In the end I decided to purchase a Crosley Cruiser in a classic tweed finish. Crosley's excellent packaging is quite bulky and would have been difficult for me to carry, however, Herman gave me an extra large fabric Campus Store shopping bag to carry my new Crosley to my car, which was appreciated. read more

I'm so frustrated every time i come here there are billions of people working and nobody ever knows shit, maybe there isn't a expectation for them too since it's just a bunch of college student Should I really subject myself to wearing childrens clothing ? I pay so much money to go to this school and it just sucks it's not really supporting students, everything is ex Hundreds of workers and nobody doing anything On a side note So I'm just going to take advantage of every highway I can UC Davis deny students rights especially disabled students. They have a center set up for them. A lot of buildings come with electric, capturing them and students get to enjoy having lecture catcher to revisit information that they currently have seen in class. I have been fighting now for over a year for accommodations I found out I was not even entitled to although I am entitled to a lecture recording an audio recording. It must be done on my own even if this class does come with lecture capture teachers feel like they do not have to record, and do not have to provide tools for students that will help them excel. I am a disabled student and have had to fight many teachers to have lectures recording because I have ADHD as really helpful to be able to revisit lectures. I feel like UCDAVIS is solely about money they don't care about their students I have went through many resources to try to fight for students, and I am still left with nothing. I have no one to reach out to I have no one to advocate for me, I've literally been advocating for my entire self this whole time with staff just telling me how I should have these accommodations and how it would be more fair for students and how sorry they are that things are not like that and that they know schools have room for improvement. I have never been suggested to join a African-American group, a disabled group, and I continue to be denied and withheld information on how to advocate for students rights and get students the tools that they need so everyone can be successful, no matter if they're disabled or not teachers should have a moral obligation to their students and they really don't care and maybe it's because nobody cares about them so it's a case of kick the dog and it trickles down to the students anyways I'm gonna take every avenue to tell everyone what's really going on behind the scenes at these colleges so many students, struggle and so many students don't get things that they need and the College feels like they are meeting these requirements just because they check off the boxes of the bare minimum but so many students up here are suffering and struggling, and I am going to make it my business to help change that in anyway, I can I will be posting copies of emails from multiple institutions that I converse with so people can begin to see the type of interactions that take place between students and staff read more

Caused my iPad purchase to get delayed by another week... canceled my order with Apple to pick it up here and bypass the three week delivery... they reserved it for me..... I was SO excited all day... I get to the store after my work day is over... am about to pay when I ask about return policy, and they tell me NO RETURNS for any reason..... This place is a joke. I spent $50 on a cheap plastic-y jacket. After 2 days (never even unzipped it to try it on, just had it in the UCD Bookstore bag on my counter), I decided to return it and get something else. The jacket had literally remained untouched until I brought it back. The girl at the counter said she wouldn't take it back because it "smelled different than the other jackets in the store". My Macbook Pro was restarting while it slept and the touch bar was disappearing. I took it to the Tech Hub to have it fixed. The recommended fix was to back up my computer and re-install the OS. I left the computer with them over the weekend. When they told me it was ready, I went and picked it up and I found that, without asking me, they had installed something called Malwarebites. When I asked what it was and hat it would do to my computer, they said that it would do nothing. When I got home I investigated further and found that they had installed a 14 day free trial of this (that I hadn't asked for, hadn't asked about and hadn't approved). Rather than wait 14 days to see what it would do to me, I uninstalled the app. It then took control of my browser and took me to a site I didn't want to go to and demanded that I fill out some damn survey. To top it off, the touch bar still doesn't work. Rather than fix the problem that I brought it in for, they installed some malware. I have not talked to them about it. They lied to me about this "Malwarebites". Nothing that they say can be trusted. They are liars. read more

I used to charge a shit ton of merch to my student ID and then have my Financial aid pay for it... It's been like ten years and I'm currently wearing my UC Davis sweat pants from that store. I think I've gotten more use out of these sweatpants then I have my college degree. This place has everything you'll need to survive after college. What I like about the UCD store is their local products: olive oil, dried tomatoes, and honey. A little pricey, but people always tell me they're really good quality, not like store bought. During a tasting event, one woman said she's made tomato cream cheese with store bought tomatoes but the flavor wasn't as intense when she tried the one made with the Russell Ranch tomatoes (same recipe.) This review is for the tech hub. I called a ton of stores in Yolo and Sacramento County and they all sold out of all the models of the new iPads. I was so happy to find out that the bookstore had the model and colour that I wanted! Plus they don't charge city tax on campus so for large electronic purchases, you'll save like... $5 or so :P You have to have a student ID card to buy electronics from here though. read more

A worker named Aleena approached me while I was walking out of class (while she was not even on the clock) and said she had video footage of me stealing from the campus store a few days ago, I told her multiple times that I had not even been in the campus store since the quarter started and that she had the wrong person. She continued to ask me for my ID and of course I refused to give it to her. I immediately headed over to the bookstore to get this cleared up when the manager validated that it indeed was NOT me in the security footage. Although they both apologized, I do not believe someone who is accusing fellow students of stealing while they are not even on the job should be continue to be working here. This is definitely a form of discrimination and it is very upsetting that the campus store employs people who make false accusations towards students while on campus. UC Davis campus is supposed to facilitate a safe and welcoming environment, rather than being a place where student staff are accusing others in an inappropriate setting and without complete certainty. read more

As someone who visited the campus, I was shocked by their prices and was almost horrified when the staples location nearby was almost double the price lower! I swear who sells eight for a small 80 paged notebook no wonder I overheard so many college students groaning about buying new supplies! read more

It's definitely not convenient that the store split in half. I really liked the size of the store before but what can you do? There are a few good things about this store, but I wouldn't say they're any real game changers. Pros: there's a lot of parking nearby at the MU Parking Structure, but you have to pay for it. The bookstore itself is in a convenient location so you can walk there anytime you are on campus. Luckily it's right next to the bus stop so you can visit the store really quick before you go home. The prices aren't always the best, but they're usually better than what you can get in other local stores (for example, art supplies for design or art classes). You can find cheaper prices on Amazon, but if you need something immediately and is still affordable then the Bookstore is where you want to go. Cons: As mentioned before, not the cheapest, but not expensive either. There are definitely better places to buy notebooks and other office supplies for cheaper. 9 out of 10 times you will have to wait in line, too. The liveliness can be close to dead since the workers there are always busy and they basically just go by script when they check you out. Almost none of them actually bother to talk to you, they're just there to do their job and that's it. The bookstore also doesn't have the books you most need in stock, which sucks. Pretty sure every time I went there to buy a book that I needed, they didn't have it... Not to mention, if you do need a book, the bookstore is not the place you want to go if you're trying to save money. You go online for that. If you didn't know that by 2015, you're literally paying the price for it. Tip: Get what you need before you actually need it. Then you can actually avoid forcing yourself to fork up more money at the bookstore, aka everyone's last-minute resort. read more

The staff is good. However, I am surprised by the extremely low quality of my umbrella purchased in ucdavis store(which is more expensive than a good umbrella on Amazon). I was not aware that I could not return a book that I bought here new. I thought it could be returnable even if it was for a class. I tried to be smart and read ahead and buy the book early but a friend offered me her book for free . So I tried returning it but the lady at the customer service desk said that I couldn't do it and that the best they could do for me was try to buy the book back from me but at literally lower than half the price that I bought it from them! Super unsatisfied with this rule . I don't know why but usually you can return things at a store even if it is a book with a receipt but apparently at this campus store you can't. Figures. read more

The new bookstore is so nice! Just came here for the first time. They obviously have most textbooks you'll need, but they also have a lot of fiction books and other pleasure reading books :) Also there are lots of chairs around where you can read, love it! Much better than the old campus bookstore, so it was worth the wait read more

Just walked out of the bookstore, worst management I have ever seen. After being next I. Line. Some a staff member asked us to move to a different set of registers, to help with the line. We said of course, walked across the store to the other registers that were not attended. After about 5 min the women came over to say, I'm sorry there is none working at these registers can go over to a different set of registers. And some will help you right a way. We get there snd there is a line. A few minutes later someone starts to help us and the says, oh, look there open over there, can you go over there to check out. Over there was where we started. So we said; screw you, get your act together and learn how to run the store. Terrible service. They get one star because I can't give them 0 stars. What a wast of time. I was very disappointed in the customer service I received at the main store. I went into the store to exchange a USB-C Lightning Cable (I meant to buy the regular USB lightning cable) that I bought last week. I was fine doing an even exchange even though the one I bought was $5 more and I would be losing money. The girl at the register was not helpful and said I would owe them $15 because I had used Aggie bucks for part of the purchase. (Aggie bucks that I had gotten for spending THOUSANDS of dollars on textbooks over the years) I tried to ask her if there was another option or someone else I could talk to (manager or customer service) about the issue because I didn't want to lose the $20. She responded with "No" and left me feeling backed into a corner. I ultimately had her refund the money I spent on the wrong cable and lost my $20 in rewards. I was extremely disappointed in her service because she seemed like she just didn't care and didn't want to spend the time to help me with my problem. The UC Davis Tech Hub got the specifications on my special order for an Apple MacBook Pro incorrect. When I ordered, I was told that I was going to get the specifications I asked for and when I picked it up I realized that it wasn't the correct computer. They said that they had built the wrong one. I asked for the salesperson to double check and make sure that I wasn't overcharged for the specs I got on the incorrect macbook pro and they told me that I wasn't overcharged without even looking at my paperwork and the guy had a rude demeanor while doing so, like this mess up was my fault. I will never buy a computer from this store again. read more
