Sometimes, they offer killer deals, like %15 to 20% off already killer deals. That means you can get a bottle of Stoli for like........6 bucks? Insane. (Of course, it needs to be consumed in Mexico.....and by their escorting your nalga to the Mexico, they'll make sure you do.) I love the service here, the selection of fine liquors, and the SPEED at which they get you outta there. The slowness of Baja Duty Free had me shopping their less frequently and over here more. This place is really my favorite Duty Free establishment in the San Ysidro area.

Miss the turn, they report you & that's a whole other nightmare to undo. We missed the exit as it was all new & looked unfamiliar. At the time the exit sign said USA & MEXICO with an arrow pointing across the bridge so we & several other cars followed while some cars took the other exit, turns out we ended up having to back track & eventually crossed into TJ. Unknowingly we were reported & the next time we went in to buy booze they denied us. Saying we failed to enter Mexico. Their version of a dine & dash I guess So if you don't know which exit to take, ask & clarify or you'll have some undoing to do as well via US Customs & Border Protection. USCBP is no joke, they are ruthless & will make you prove you entered, near impossible. They do little to assist & are pretty much a55holes. Thankfully we had our receipt in the glove box which was used to provide the date of entry. Long story...it's not worth the hassle unless you are clear on where to enter Mexico.

The location of where you pick up constantly changes. Either it is at the end of the last building before Mexico, or in the rest area after the last building going into Mexico. The last time I was there the staff were more interested in chatting amongst themselves than serving the public. I was finally served and then after buying some cigarettes, I was given the carton at the door. The supervisor did not tell me that I could not stop at any other store. I thought that it would be ok to stop and buy a lottery ticket. I then went straight to Mexico after that. I was told later because I had stopped to buy a lottery ticket I could no longer shop there. I asked the person who was the supervisor to speak to her manager. I had to insist because at first the supervisor refused to tell me who her manager was. When I went back to the store the next day, the manager said that the main reason I was no longer welcome was because on my waty to Mexico I frequently stop to rest. I am 70 years old and have an injury that at times makes me stop and rest before I can resume my walk into Mexico. The manager told me her staff had better things to do than wait for an old man to walk to Mexico. This is age discrimination and I will be filing complaint with the EEOC and have them investigated for age discrimination.

In the states, you're looking at probably double. They also have cases of beer, wine, etc......case of Bohemia (24 pack) will run $16. Fine jewelry, sunglasses, etc. are also available for purchase, although I haven't bought anything like that yet. Just get me my drink. To me, it seems like the jewelry/perfume/accessories are all priced similary to something in a retail store. But then again, I don't know how to price luxury items all that well. Yeah, so you get your bottle of Cazadores or Captain Morgan and case of beer, buy it, they meet you out front, and then escort you to Mexico. They want to make sure you aren't taking your tax free booze to your buddy's kegger over in La Jolla. Then that, my fellow yelper, would be cheating the US government out of their rightfully earned tax dollars. That my fellow yelper, is tax avasion, and punishable by law. The thinking in this store is, you shouldn't pay taxes to the US gov't if you ain't gonna be consuming the booze on their US land. Thus, more reason to come to Mexico and get totally blasted on ultra cheap booze. (As if the dollar shots of cheap tequila death at the border night clubs iisn't enough for you already.) It all started Because my face mask Wasn't all the way "covering my face", they said "it needed to be all the way up to my prominent bone". I found that a little bit Exaggerating since I know it needed to cover just the nostrils for fluid and mucus, how I know, well, because I worked as a male nurse for years. It's a shame loosing that stop for restocking my bar. Hopefully Ueta can do a better selection in their personal.
