You are not gonna regret this. I have been going for 4 months now,and i never looked back! This gym has been opened for many years, the inside is used but clean, the management are very attentive to cleaning, ( i even saw them mopping few times ) and safety, Lauren, Zach, Colt, Nadya , John and everyone else are very welcoming, willing to help you and show you the right way. I chose to do Boxing and conditioning, but i end up also doing Ultimate Training which is a compressed work out, better than any Gym i have been. I also have a trainer ( Zach ) who i work out with weekly, i learned a lot about my limits and my resistance levels, and i feel 10 times better than when i started, i highly recommend it, just sign up, and i promise you will like it. Nice friendly staff and assortment of classes for those that like variety. Don't get intimidated by the UFC branding. If you want to work out but don't like traditional weight training, this is a great alternative. The classes are instructor lead, most are 50 minutes in duration and you'll be drenched in sweat by the end of the class. The types of classes vary - boxing/kickboxing conditioning i.e. you vs punching bag - HIIT i.e. you rotating through exercise stations - boxing/kickboxing technique and sparring i.e. partnered drills - BJJ Gi/no-Gi i.e. real close contact * Checkin to verify your schedule works with when the classes are held. * No limit to the number of classes you can take If you want to try everything, start with individual classes like conditioning or HIIT and then move over to partner classes like BJJ or sparring. Try a free class and judge for yourself, what have you got to lose? The members vary in ages from grade level kids, to young professionals, to seasoned adults ;). This use to be LA Boxing but UFC bought them all and changed their name. I have been a member since 2009 and have loved every minute. Coming here is a great way to get in shape. There are different instructors with different training styles. I have learned what works for me based upon my schedule and my needs. I can always check out one of the other UFC gyms if my favorite instructor is teaching there. I can't current comment on the sales team here since I haven't changed my membership in awhile. Plus being a member for a long time gives you perks. Anyway, I have dealt with less than ideal sales team in the past here but now that it is under UFC guidelines I can't comment. I was a member here for several months. They're a specialty gym that focuses on boxing/ kickboxing for fitness. While I didn't particularly enjoy the group fitness boxing/ kickboxing classes, I did enjoy going to their boxing skills and muay thai classes to learn the sport themselves. The manager Kelly teaches the muay thai class himself and is a great instructor. He's super knowledgeable and helpful. They have a small section in the gym to lift weights as well. Unfortunately the limited hours, especially on weekends, made it difficult to go to many of their classes. read more

Joined this gym a month ago but have been able to only attend fight fit class. It definitely makes your body sore all over punching and kicking a bag so it is definitely a different type of training from a normal gym that offers kickboxing. I'm weird about sweat but this gym is on the smaller side but is always clean. The staff is great and it's located next to whole foods so a skip away for some "healthy" food after a hard workout. read more

I have no comllaints about the classes and trainers at this gym but the way they handle finance is ridiculous. I had signed up for a year membership at this gym not understanding my commute which was my own fault. However, I decided to freeze my account by paying $15 every month for a whole year and complied with the terms of my agreement only to find out that the gym continued to charge $15 AFTER my year was up. NO, they do not have the courtsey to stop the payments. I called to cancel my membership and kindly requested a refund for the 3 months I had been charged but I never received a call nor a refund. Now, I just found out that they took over $160$ from my bank account which I am expecting to be refunded before reporting it to my bank as unauthorised transaction. I am not a fan of negative reviews but I am forced to do so because I want others have to be aware when they commit to agreements with this gym. The gym has to be responsible when people have issues terminating their relationship with them the same way they are very nice when they welcome you to the gym. read more

The gym has a stench of old sweaty shoes. However there were 2 good trainers. Most of the other trainers would have you "freestyle" most of the boxing workout which defeats the purpose of having a trainer to lead the workout. If I wanted to freestyle on the heavy bag, I would come in on my free time. I used to go to Title in Springfield so I had become accustomed to having high quality trainers no matter the class. I am quite disappointed with UFC Gym. The actual classes themselves are adequate, a decent cardio work out. However the cost and contractual shenanigans they play are even worse. The games start when you want to quit. It will be the hardest thing you can possibly do, worse than any workout they can put you through. They place a onerous paperwork requirement. Never again and I caution anyone considering joining to be extremely careful and vigilant with their contractual games. Its not a question of if they screw you over but when and for how much. Pretty disappointed with this gym mostly in the areas of service and membership. The whole reason I wouldn't join was because of their insane membership fee and the illogical contract they try to have you sign that is a bear to break if you decide it's not for you or have some other reason why you can no longer go to that gym. They treat the membership like a rental agreement where you have to tell them a month in advance that you are going to end it. Why!? That doesn't make sense, it's just their way of guaranteeing income, theres no logical reason as to why someone can not end their membership whenever they want. So the UFC business model is what is really disappointing about this franchise. Also the manager at this location plays favorites and gives discounts and free memberships to people if they somehow benefit him. I will say that the trainers and classes are intense! This gym is strictly for training / workout classes, which includes: boxing, kickboxing, some light MMA, Daily Ultimate Training, & a few more. The problem is that the gym is really small, classes are limited in size (i.e. 12 people max in the DUT class), and the times are fairly inconvenient - most are at 6:30am. The ones at night are always booked & you have to book 2 weeks in advance. There aren't very many weights at all: 1 benchpress, a handful of free weights, and 2 treadmills. It's fairly pricy too...$200 down $89 a month. The classes are really good and the instructors along with the managers are fantastic. Kelly the manager is awesome & runs a great class. Audrey is a great trainer. She'll kick your butt. In my opinion they need a larger space and more variety with time slots. The concept is good, but belongs as part of a larger gym with more space. read more

Been going here for about 2 months and I love it so far! There's only 2 instructors I don't enjoy so far, mainly because their class consists of mostly "freestyles" which means they are lazy and don't want to come up with combos. Easy way to get around that - go to a different class! If you HAVE to try one class (maybe for your trial class) you HAVE to go to Ronald's class on Tuesdays at 5:15 or Thursdays at 6:30. Trust me you will be sweating profusely the first 5 minutes because you're doing HIITS and then go straight to kickboxing and back and forth. You'll love his class and will for sure feel it in your body the next day. DUT (daily ultimate training) classes are basically HIITS for an hour and this one is a real sweat session but it works out everything from battle ropes to deadlifts to sprints to tire jumps. Its fun but I have to mentally prepare myself. ;) Fight Fit class is another favorite of mine with Ashlee, you get a hard workout where you are actually punching and kicking a body bag on the floor like you're really fighting and learning how to wrap your legs around someone's head. Its great! Don't get me wrong when you walk in it smells like a straight up sweaty, disgusting stank raggedy, old, nasty smell that is never ending but you get use to it. Because you'll start smelling like it yourself. I left Orange Theory Fitness to come here and it was a great decision. OTF got boring so I came here because they offer a lot of unique classes not only boxing/kickboxing and it got really expensive there. Its $89/month for 1 location and $99/month for any location with enrollment fee (not sure what it was). Pricey but for the classes they have and they have a gym side thats free to use, I think it's worth it but only if you're ready to learn how to kick ass. read more

Took their free kickboxing class.thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely was drenched and sore leaving. For warning bring hand wraps and gloves if you have them otherwise they will charge you to buy the wraps (they loaned us the gloves). Everything was nice enough, just not the price. The apartment complex I live at already has a gym with just about the same equipment. So wasn't really compelled to drop $900 for the year on some classes I'd randomly go to, I have a bunch of BeachBody products at home that I can use for free. The trainers and coaches are amazing, and the staff and management really makes an effort to have a personal relationship with all members. So I was a member for a year and a half and I ignored all the bad reviews thinking "oh that's silly" well it's not and I was completely fooled. When you sign up you have to pay around $400 because you have to pay for all the fees and the first month and the last month. I agreed and paid for it. Now I'm a student living off pay check to pay check and I told Kelly the GM that I couldn't afford it anymore. Once I canceled my membership I thought that was it. Until I checked my bank account and found I had been charged yet again $90! And it put me in negative. I called and begged Kelly to refund me because I would get a over draft fee on top of that and I mentioned how I had to pay at the beginning when I signed up for the first and last month. He kept changing the story and told me I was rude and he wasn't "going to do shit for me". He also mentioned that I have a good time at life time. (Because I so happened to go there as a guest with my friend and he saw me there, I guess thinking I was paying for a membership). This is the most outrageous customer service I've ever received. I'm surprised the facility is still running with such a terrible GM to be representing the company. I was mortified he spoke to me in that way and then he hung up on me and ignored the rest of my phone calls. I'm telling you now like everyone else has said SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT GO HERE!! I absolutely love this gym! The staff is so friendly and positive. Kelly, the manager instantly put me a ease when I walked through the door. He is very helpful and always willing to answer any questions you may have. I love the boxing conditioning classes. I've taken several and have really liked every coach. They all have their own unique way of teaching so it never gets boring. Each coach also changes things up so even if you go to a class regularly, it's never the same old thing. Josh has a no-nonsense style but he is also super friendly and makes sure to check everyone's form and speed to ensure you don't get sloppy! Brandon is probably the most high energy person I've ever met. His class will push you beyond what you think possible (I've never sweat so much in my life), but he'll also keep you smiling with his positive attitude, encouragement, and occasional jokes. Most of all, I've really liked working with Coach Gustavo. He gives focused attention to his clients and pushes you to your limits. He also pays attention to nutrition and meeting personal goals. Every session is different and I can see marked improvement since the time I started. This guy seriously knows his stuff! All in all, I can't think of one negative thing to say about this gym. Everyone, to include members is very friendly and has a great attitude. I was slightly intimidated at first, but that faded after the first five minutes I was there. Great free trial class!! I took DUT this morning at 10:45am - it was intense, I was soaked in sweat and I had a lot of fun meeting the members and pushing each other. I'm a member of Golds and I go there 4-5x every week for my regular workouts and was hoping to add these classes to my routine. Unfortunately, it's a members only club and they don't allow drop-ins for their classes. That's pretty crazy from a business standpoint & paying $89/month (even $69 which the GM offered if I signed a contract today) is steep and not worth it. Like other reviewers, I had a bad membership experience (with the Woodbridge location) so I'm hesitant to sign again but was hoping to pay per class 1-2x each month. Signed up in 2009 when the gym was LA Boxing. I've been to my fair share of locations throughout this area through the years. Tysons, Herndon, Woodbridge, and Chantilly to name a few. This Fairfax one ran by Kelly is by far the best one I've experienced. I've had a few hiccups in my membership but nothing that couldn't be corrected easily. Classes are intense and the instructors are amazing and motivating. I would probably be 300lbs if I wasn't a member with my eating and drinking habits. I used to absolutely adore this place, and had written a review that clearly showed that (I even asked how people were giving them such bad reviews, since they were so awesome), but I have to take all that back after the last time I went there in late January 2016 Since I was going out of the country to study, I decided to cancel my membership (a major bummer!). They were really helpful and nice about it, and Ihad no problem. But then, my mom thought we were still been charged, and wanted to know if the charge on her credit card was related to the UFC Gym in Fairfax or not. We went there one afternoon and talked to the manager (I think his name was Kelly). She tried to explain the problem to him, but since she is an immigrant and isn't completely fluent on the language, she was getting a little frustrated, since he wasn't understanding what she was trying to say. The thing is though, he didn't even make an effort and was REALLY rude to us the whole time, even asking us "what we were doing on his gym". What I got from it is that the moment you stop being a customer there, they stop giving a damn about you. When I first went there to sign up, this same man was charming and nice, after I had to cancel, he was rude and sarcastic towards someone he KNEW was having a had time communicating and expressing himself. You, sir, lack empathy. That just killed it for me. I would never go back to this place after this, nor do I encourage anyone to go there. Go find another boxing class or go to another UFG Gym. The only reason I'm not giving this place 1 star is because the classes were actually good and would be really unfair to the instructors. read more

I am a little mystified by some of these other reviews. I've been a member at this gym for several years and have had the complete opposite experience from that portrayed in other reviews. Every member of the staff has been nothing but professional and accommodating. The classes will challenge you while at the same time allow you to test your own limits. If those aren't enough for you, the gym offers personal training in a wide variety of disciplines with coaches that have spent a lifetime in their respective disciplines. I was a member of both LA Boxing and UFC Gym. I moved out of the state, and canceled my membership in writing, as specified in my contract. I discovered four months later that I had been charged four additional months post-cancelling my membership. I contacted the manager, who at first was very apologetic and guaranteed they would refund my money. It is 1.5 months later, and I have not seen a single dime of my refund. I will be pursuing this manner further, but all should know that this gym practices illegal charging techniques and refuses to refund money that they have stolen. read more

I've been a member for over 6 months and it still remains a solid investment. I signed up with Kelly and he gave me and my friend a good student discount. All the coaches are pro fighters and compete in the NOVA/DC area, aka super legit. If you show your face up around frequently enough, they'll give you tips to tweak your form. The workouts are a great way to push yourself, build confidence, defy gender roles, improve conditioning, so on. I did hit a plateau with heavy bag workouts, so I reached out to one of the fighters, Chase. He's a pro Muay Thai fighter, but don't let his professional skill intimidate you. Not only is he a great athlete, he's also an excellent teacher. He gave me A LOT of guidance in fixing my technique and kicking form. Now I know what to work on and have new motivation to improve my fighting style. As a lengthy aside. In one of Ronda Rousey's interviews, she said that she was born with the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck resulting in speech impediments as a child. But she saw the psychical contact in judo as an form of communication. In the same way, Chase doesn't tell you which combination to hit, he shows you with the placement of the pads. You learn something new when you step into the world of MMA. Let the price of the membership motivate you to get up and box. That's what got me going for the first few months. Been in UFC gym at Chantilly for 3 years ...4 members in my family currently enrolled, now they told us that the UFC facility at Chantilly is closing doors on August 2014 . Now, I need to cancel the memberships for the obvious reasons ...the others UFC locations are too far from us....they treat you like they don't know nothing of your acct that they can't have access to any information and all they give you is a phone number to call between 11;00am till 4:00pm from M-F....they don't answer!. I have been a member here off and on since they opened several years ago, I will take time off to try something new (crossfit, yoga etc) but always end up coming back. The instructors here are great! Very knowledgable in their sport and also in how to kick your butt. You will get a great workout for sure. I love the variety of classes from DUT (bootcamp like), Matrix (using TRX), boxing, kickboxing, mua tai... It helps keep me from getting bored. I also really like the members here. I've been a member since the gym opened. It's had some turnover but ever since Kelly took over the instructors and classes have got so much better. The staff is friendly and all the instructors run a fun and challenging class. The classes are almost like personal training as the instructor goes through different exercises and coaches you throughout the workout.
