I am a 55 year old man and this is the rudest banking establishment that I have ever gone to. The teller and the manager were rude and treated me like I was a criminal. The first clue should have been when I walked in and found that the tellers were actually drive thru machines in the lobby. I was there to cash a check that was from a UFCU member and I do not have an account there (thank god). They wanted my thumbprint on the check, drivers license, phone number, and still jerked me around for 30 minutes. Then they wanted me to give them my social security number and tell them where I work. I told them no and demanded my stuff back and left. MY BANK GLADLY CASHED THE CHECK. DO NOT GO TO UFCU, THEY SUCK. read more

I recently closed my account at UFCU, reasons below. Issue # 1. I requested a banker remove my wife from our joint account. He said sure, and sent me a form I needed to fill out. I did and he told me he took her off. Eight months go by and I find out my wife is still on my account. OK, mistakes happen, even though I have an email stating that he removed her. Let's work together and get it fixed right? Logical thing to do. I emailed the banker TWICE, replying on the original email I sent him with the document my wife signed. I never heard back from him. I called the bank on the phone a talked to a different banker. He said he left a note for the original banker to handle. But it was his day off. AFTER 2 WEEKS, THEY NEVER TOOK CARE OF IT!!!! I emailed once again, a THIRD time to no response, phone call or otherwise. Issue # 2 Weeks go by and haven't heard from them so I decided, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE I WANT TO BANK, as any normal person would. This was inexcusable to say the least. There could have been a lot of legal implications here. We have very valid personal reasons to separate our checking accounts. Regardless, it is our personal decision. I went to the drive thru to withdraw a lot of cash in one transaction before closing out my account. Everything is done through the thru these days because of with COVID. I gave the teller my DL, ATM and withdraw check. He asks me, "Where do you work?" Now I'm a little stunned because I never had any teller every ask me any thing when withdrawing. A few have suggested some products. While it is common when setting up a bank account or something, this was highly unusual. And his tone of voice did not sound like he wanted to sell me something. I told I him nicely that was confidential information. He replied, "For a transaction like this, I need to know." This didn't make any sense to me since I consider this private. In this new age where privacy and identity-theft are a big concern, how do I know he's not going to use my info to open a credit card account or something? The teller was holding my money hostage. I told him, when I opened the account, I was employed at company [hidden]. He replied, "No, what is your current employer?". Then I replied I work for [hidden]. He said what is your job title there. I told him my position. At this point, I already felt like a criminal. I couldn't believe this was happening. Are my civil rights being violated? Am I required to provide this info before I can get my cash? After I answer all his questions, he says, "Ok, I will get your money." In a very unfriendly tone. He did and the tube came back full of cash. There was no "Thank you for your business" or even a "good bye". He sent the tube full of money and said nothing over the video monitor. He should have just to confirm I got the large amount of cash. This is the first time someone at the teller didn't ask me "Is there anything else I can do for you" or "Have a nice day.". Just sent the tube without a word or any type confirmation. That was the last straw for me. I got my wife to close her account too. So more on this. I recognize when you withdraw a large amount of cash banks need to notify government agencies. My take is, just do it. People withdrawing a large amount of cash are mostly NOT CRIMINALS!!! If that were true, it would be out right illegal. What if I woke up one day and decided I want to pay everything in cash so I can control my finances? IT HAPPENS!!! If a government agency wants to know why I am withdrawing a large amount of cash, I have no problem letting them know. It is not a bank TELLER's job to interrogate me and hold my money hostage. I have the following question for the bank. You can post your answer in the response in this review. 1. Do you train your bank tellers to ask personal questions such as place of employment or job title before your customers receive our cash? 2. If I didn't answer the teller's question, would he have given me the cash? 3. Do you train your tellers to be suspicious of people withdrawing a large amount of cash and treat them rudely? 4. Do you train your tellers that people have a right to not disclose personal information not related to the withdraw of cash? 5. Do you have a process where as if a teller is suspicious of a transaction that they can call a manager or someone more suitable to handle the situation? The teller number that handle my transaction was 1879. I am very upset that he just sent a tube full of cash and not say anything at least for confirmation. I was not a difficult customer. The whole time I was very courteous. These 2 separate incidents is how you get a bad rap and lose customers!!! My wife's account is closed too!!! We won't be back. read more

I don't think I have ever experience such a level of customer service when working with a bank. I stumbled upon UFCU when trying to get a car loan. The whole process was a total pleasure! I know right! A PLEASURE! They made it super simple and gave me a the best interest rate of any car I have ever financed. The week I bought my car was awful because I had a million other things to deal with. I ended up signing my loan documents on my iPhone! How awesome is that? David, my loan guy, was on top of it the whole way and the car lot I dealt with was also very impressed with how easy everything worked. They offer tons of great services such as extended warranties and GAP which made the whole process even better. By opening an account with them I also got a discount on my interest rate. I kept trying to find the "small print" or "catch" on the accounts and was shocked to be completely satisfied by the end of it. On top of all that, I referred someone there for a car loan and got $50 for it! Their online accounts are just as good as any other by the big banks. have never had a problem with ufcu before until today. i deposited a check through the mobile app and called to see if it i could get it to go through any sooner. i ended up deciding i should just cash my check and called back to cancel. during the phone call, the man told me i needed to update my phone number and address and asked me for a good phone number and address and when i gave him the updated answers, he proceeds to yell at me and tells me "YOU FAILED." and he can no longer talk to me and that i'm being recorded. i was very confused and asked what he meant and he just repeatedly said that i failed. i said "you asked me to update my address?" to which he said "you failed. you're a failure" so to that i was shocked. read more

Went in to open up new accounts because I'm unhappy with Wells Fargo after 10 years. I looked online to open a new account but decided to take a day off work to go in person and speak to someone. But they were all too busy to acknowledge me. The only option I had was to stand awkwardly in the middle of the bank floor. At least at Wells Fargo someone always poked there head up to say "We'll be right with you." I don't see anything close to the great customer service that people rave about. It's awkward to walk into a new bank and have no idea where to go or how the place works; it's even more awkward when you get strange looks and you're clearly in the way of all the folks going towards the ATM at the back. Still interested in a credit union but don't think this is it. Really disappointed. read more

I had banked with UFCU for about 15 years, all was good until you know what hit the fan (ie. husband got laid off and paying credit card and car loan became difficult). As soon as things started getting bad the demon spawns of the collection world came out. I usually have a positive experience with this branch, but today I had a not so good experience and wanted to complain. I went into the bank and there was a gentleman there that walked in as well. I was the first one to sign in on their monitor. The other guy signed in after me. We waited for a while. Note my only reason there was to cancel an appointment. Finally one of the reps finished and the guy that was inline behind me got up and went to the rep. What good is signing in if someone can cut inline? I had to come here to use the shared branch services since my credit union is in Virginia. There was a credit union closer to my home but they no longer participate in the program. Therefore, I had to come to this location. I pressed the call button and no one answered and then had to press it. Again like 5 minutes later bc I had been sitting there 20 minutes. I'm sick my ears are clogged and Apparently the canister was sent and the teller didn't even come back asking was that all nor have a nice day. This is poor customer service read more

I had an issue with my account and went to correct it. So I went and waited to be helped and a woman named Kerri came to help me. I noticed she was in an off mood so I just kept to myself and let her lead me through the transaction. I was going to open an IRA so I can plan for my future before I went to Basic Training for the Army.... but while we were correcting the issue I came to fix she was unpleasant and unfriendly with me. So I fixed the issue and closed my account with UFCU because WHY SHOULD MY BANK TREAT ME UNFAIRLY. While I was closing the account she made me feel like UFCU was glad to get rid of me. Safe to say I went to Bank of America across the street and Opened a new account and an IRA where they treated me with the upmost respect and helped me greatly. read more

Inside is an awful experience. First off, there is no indication when, where, or how to check in; you have to go up and ask someone in order to have a simple thing done that could have easily been labeled "please check in here", after signing your name the device doesn't even say your checked in or how long wait it will be. All the bankers are moving like they have nothing to do while clients are waiting! Annoying. There were 3 people who came in after me and were helped within 5 minutes, while I was waiting for 20! Unacceptable! I had to actually call another customer service branch while there so they would get the condescending manager Lupe to do his job, he felt the need to stop everything in front of the branch and just keep saying "maam" to me, I'm not there to waste my time standing around in long gaze or talk with you, I'm there for a purpose, they need to just do their job. Apparently his employees in the back "dropped the ball" on my place in check in. They should be fired or learn proper job etiquette. read more

If you do not use UFCU and you don't have to use them, then don't! This branch's ATM just stole $500 from me that it was supposed to be dispensing! It even made the noise like it was dispensing my cash three different times. When it finished, the screen said "we are unable to complete transaction at this time." Yet it took the money out of my checking account as if I got the money. Then I called Customer service and they told me that the money had been dispensed and it took it out of my account. So now I have to wait for them to finish their investigation, even though I deposit thousands of dollars weekly from my small business. God only knows how long this will take. If it's anything like the phone call I just had with customer service, I can wish in one hand and poop in the other and see which one fills up first! read more

I'm sorry you took it personal I did not want to chit chat about my day, as I recently had fraud on my account, and have been awaiting a card for a week now, was forced to drive to the Palm Valley location in Round Rock, as my closest UFCU location (Parmer/Scofield) isn't servicing drive-thru, and is by appointments only, then I had to wait in a line for over 30 minutes. I realize you were just trying to be nice, but the fact of the matter is all you needed was on that paper, I have a right as a customer to not want to interact, as they say, sometimes saying nothing at all when upset is best, but for you to basically roll your eyes and stare at me in disgust, just because I upset you because I didn't want to interact, wasn't necessary. Please don't take things so personal. Sometimes we are dealing with far more than you know, and a quick and efficient bank interaction is more than enough when dealing with all we have encountered. Thanks for understanding, we aren't always so pleasant when faced with upsetting issues dealing with our financial situations, like fraud, etc... so pardon me for not wanting to talk about how I am, I would have much rather just gone to an ATM, and now having to explain myself is also a crappy situation. But I wanted to ensure you and your Manager are ok with the fact we all don't want to chat after waiting 30 mins, and other customers might feel the same. Sometimes it's ok, to just get things done. Right now I give this bank 5 stars. We went in and were greeted right away. Grace (employee) was great and very nice. She answered all of our questions and did not push us to open an account. Also they check your credit just to make sure we didn't see any fraud. Also did an analysis on our car loans to see if they can get us better deal. Wow, I was fairly happy with them for a while. Have a checking account, savings account, car loan and personal loan. I do all my banking online. Then when I got ~15 days late on my car loan, UFCU suspended my ability to manage my accounts online. Cannot even use the ATM. So I was unable to pay any 3rd party bills until I paid my car payment. One of the reasons we selected to bank here was the friendly people who knew our names. The locations in Round Rock are now all automated and that's not appealing to us AT ALL! We hardly have to go to the physical bank, oops I means credit union, but when we do I would like to talk to a PERSON who can help me. Twice now, I've been in and had to be turned away because the one person who is there is just to help you use the machines. We have decided to take our business elsewhere. read more

I use this as a shared branch for my original Credit Union Account. Every time my wife goes to deposit a check in this account she has to show id, give my ssn and give a finger print along with the account number. Then when the receipt is given to her it has the account number and the balance blacked out... Plus no matter which branch (this is a new one but the people are from the older one) they always put it in the wrong account... If she request savings it goes into checking or visa versa. They really inspire confidence read more
