    Gluten free platter (heaven)

Great location in London if you're doing some shopping in the area, and as a celiac/gluten-free, worth going out of the way for, for sure. The dumpling varieties are fun, and very, very tasty. While my verdict is that I like the traditional flavors like duck and prawns more than the more unique/modern truffles, nonetheless they're all very tasty, and fun to try - you never know what you'd be drawn to right? A bit on the pricy side (compared to gluten-full dumpling, haha), but if you're gluten-free, beggars can't be choosers when it comes to dumplings (the fact that this place even exists is definitely a blessing), and I say it's definitely worth the splurge! Hungry cat approved.

This was a really great restaurant that we stumbled upon. The dumplings and noodles were delicious and had unique fillings for some of the dumplings. I liked how the restaurant gave you a coaster and pens to color and hang up in the restaurant afterwards, super cute!

Ugly Dumpling was such a cute find. They have indoor and outdoor seating, the women working there are all so sweet, and the dumplings was all delicious and affordable! Would definitely go back.

Loved the uniqueness of this menu and restaurant concept! We had one waitress who was very attentive and fast. The restaurant is quaint and small but there's more seating downstairs. Loved all the food we had except I think the pork and duck dumplings tasted quite similar. We had a great time and loved the happy hour deal for our drinks!

Dumplings were very nice but service was very slow especially for s cup of coffee. Unpretentious cafe with unusual menu, I would come back if I had plenty of time to spare.

What a great quick bite to stumble upon. They have a great platter of vegetarian dumpling/ pierogis which were great. The peanut sauce was so good and the mushroom one was great.

Nice small and cozy spot for creative dumplings. I tried the Satay Chicken dumplings, a Vegan platter, and their Noodles salad and everything was tasty. The place itself is quite cool as they have coasters with their dumpling-logo and people can paint them and hang them on the wall where there are tons of them, making the place pretty stylish.

Super delicious dumplings! Very interesting and yummy flavors that we had never tried before! Definitely suggest stopping by here for a little snack while walking around London. The space inside the restaurant is pretty small, but we enjoyed it because it created a cozy vide with some colder weather outside.

Mixed experience overall. My friends and my husband and I had dinner here last Saturday night and sat downstairs. It's pretty cramped and gets loud quickly so keep that in mind. We got a mix of the platters and sides. We also ordered the red and white wine (both Romanian which I was really excited about- the white was decently dry and my husband said the red was decent- not as bold as he liked). When the dumplings are served, such as in platters, the waitress explains what each dumpling is, but it's done so quickly you don't remember what. It would be much smarter if each dumpling had little flags identifying them or an idea long those lines. The pork belly and duck dumplings earned good reviews. The prawn and chive was a huge disappointment though- too fishy and yet bland at the same time?! The spinach and tofu was tastier. The cheeseburger was likely the most divisive: my friend's husband wasn't a fan whilst my husband said it was his fave! The mushrooms and truffle was by far my favorite with the Parmesan atop. Yum!!! The miso cod on the other hand was also bland. I loved the goat cheese and beetroot; the beetroot is quite creamy. Onto the sides: the miso-glazed courgette and avo is actually quite spicy and the broccoli and almond slaw is quite tasty. We also had a mix of the dessert dumplings: I liked the apple cheese and the pecan pie the best. So overall food hits and misses. Service was ok- friendly if a bit hit and miss.

Lunch meal deal. All the dumplings besides the spinach and tofu and the noodles. FANTASTIC

great food and great service! A hole in the wall you'll be lucky to find. YOU MUST GO

I quite liked Ugly Dumplings. There aren't many places for dumplings around here and the variety order was nice.

The server was a great help in guiding us through and helping us to order a good sample of items. The food was brought out a good pace. We had ti.e to eat each course and never felt overwhelmed. The food was delicious. There was no item we did not like. The items we ordered offered a balance of heat and cool.

In a related and very lovely gesture, the server brought me a complimentary mutton roll (with chilli ketchup) and said they usually send something on the house for solo diners :) The roll was delicious -- savoury mutton without a strong game-y flavour that went really nicely with the mildly spicy ketchup. I decided to have an order of the Lankan chicken kari paired with a hopper. I did not know what a hopper was before then (let alone seen one), so it was an interesting surprise when I was served this unevenly thick, bowl-shaped rice pancake. Fortunately, I did not go wrong with this choice, as the hopper was so delicious. The light rice-based flavour of the hopper paired so nicely with the rich, slightly spicy curry and the tender and savoury chicken, and I really liked the textural variety of the hopper itself (thicker, spongier base and thinner, crispier sides). The ratio of hopper to curry was not quite right, though, so I ended up ordering another roti to enjoy the remaining half of my curry and chicken. The roti was really delicious -- fluffy on the inside and perfectly crispy on the outside -- and similarly paired super well in carrying the curry flavour. All in all, price point was pretty solid for the quality and amount of food. I thought the hopper was pricier than expected, but conversely the curry was less so -- so overall it all seemed quite reasonable. I would love the chance to come visit again and try more of their deliciously fragrant curry options next time.

The place was quite busy, and interestingly, the same person taking orders was also cooking. It's a very small setup--definitely not meant for dining in. The vibe is more like "grab your food and head out." We ordered chicken egg fried rice and chicken chow mein. Watching the food being cooked right in front of us was fascinating--quick, high heat, and full of action. Once we got our order, we sat outside to eat. The first thing I noticed was that the food was quite oily. More disappointing, though, was that I couldn't find any chicken in my fried rice--even though I had paid extra for it. I went back, showed them, and asked if chicken had been added. They bluntly said "yes" and didn't bother to check further, which was frustrating That said, the food itself tasted good overall. It's just that the oiliness and the lack of proper service took away from the experience. I wouldn't say I won't visit again--it feels more like an off day--but I was definitely expecting better service.

I ordered the Chicken Katsu over brown rice with Szechuan sauce. It wasn't too spicy and had a good portion of protein. It took about 10 minutes to wait for food. They were going to try to accommodate us but luckily we were able to sort things out. We were first sat at the bar and given the wine menu. It was odd because I really wanted the drink menu, I wasn't even sure if there was one at that point. I don't drink alcohol and needed the drink menu which I didn't get to see until we sat down. My husband ordered lemongrass cha and kakigori (his favorite). I had the Sakura spritz (non alcoholic). I was delighted that we were seated right against the glass edge. We enjoyed the view very much. We considered getting the signature set menu but there were some dishes that were not on there. In the end, we spent more than what the signature menu would have cost us oops. Pea guac- my first time having pea guac it was a good starter Duck salad - this was good Sakura Salmon- this was delicious, I'm not sure what is Sakura about it though Waygu goyza- Waygu was cooked perfectly but the star of this dish is not the wagyu the taste is over powered by the outer shell and the oils. Definitely one of those places where you walk in and immediately think "okay this is going to be great." Unfortunately, the actual experience didn't really match the setting for us. The drinks were good, but not particularly memorable considering the price point and reputation. The bigger issue was the service. We were seated at a shared high top next to another couple and then waited around 25 minutes before anyone took our order. After that, it was another long wait before the drinks actually arrived. By the time we finally got them, the whole vibe had kind of faded for us and we ended up leaving after one round. I still think it's worth stopping by for the views alone, but overall the experience felt more style over substance than I hoped for.

Much like everything else, the cost has risen since my last visit 5 years ago but it is still in line with other similar afternoon tea options. They now serve their basic afternoon tea with a non-alcoholic glass of sparkling hojicha tea which was quite good. You can upgrade to your choice of champagne for an additional fee. Taken as a whole, the quality of the food, scones, pastries, and tea still tops the list of best in the city in my book. And the service is exemplary. On my last visit 5 years ago I fell in love with the art on the menu and considered asking if I could take my copy home. In the end, I didn't ask and have regretted it ever since. On this visit I told that story to my server and asked if I might keep the menu as a memento. I didn't like the 70% cacao chocolate fondue but I've been told some people straight up eat it with a spoon. The teas were fragrant. The area can be a little crammed but we went on a nice summer day so the AC was welcomed. Service gets nicer. I guess they start to warm up to you? And it felt very casual here. Just pray you don't sit next to a crying baby. The hotel it's attached to is very nice and there is a bar they recommend you to wait at if you're early for your reservation.
