Very nice people and very caring. They helped us through some of the hardest times we had to deal with, the passing on my father.

There truly aren't enough stars to give Husband Family Funeral Home or enough words to express what…read morethis incredible group of people meant to our family during one of the most difficult times of our lives. From the very first conversation, we knew we were somewhere different. There was no pressure, no feeling of being "sold" anything, and no sense that we were simply another family walking through their doors. We were treated with genuine compassion, patience, dignity and kindness every step of the way. Mr. Husband, the owner, personally took the time to meet with us and offer his sincere condolences. That simple act spoke volumes about the kind of funeral home he has created and the people he has chosen to surround himself with. Shaquita, the office manager, was absolutely wonderful. Every question, every detail and every concern was handled with kindness and patience. Brendolyn, who I can only describe as both an assistant to the director and a true comfort giver, has a gift. During a time when emotions are overwhelming and families don't always know what they need, she simply knew how to be there. Her warmth and compassion will not be forgotten. And then there is Kimberly, our funeral director. Second to none doesn't even begin to describe her. She guided us through every decision with compassion, professionalism and genuine care. She listened. She never rushed us. She made sure everything reflected the woman we loved and the way we wanted her life honored. She somehow managed to take an incredibly painful experience and make it beautiful. What impressed me perhaps most of all was that this wasn't exceptional service from one or two people. It was the entire staff. Every single person we encountered treated our family with respect and genuine kindness. You can tell that compassion isn't something they turn on when a family walks through the door--it is simply part of who they are. When you lose someone you love, you're vulnerable. You're grieving, you're exhausted, and you're making decisions you never wanted to have to make. The people you entrust your loved one to matter more than you realize until you're standing in that moment. We trusted Husband Family Funeral Home with someone incredibly precious to us, our mom, and they treated her--and our entire family--as though she was precious to them, too. They didn't just arrange a funeral. They helped us honor a life. They gave us comfort when we needed it, guidance when we didn't know what to do next, and memories of a beautiful service that our family will carry with us. To Mr. Husband, Kimberly, Shaquita, Brendolyn and every member of the Husband Family Funeral Home staff: thank you. Thank you for your compassion. Thank you for your patience. Thank you for every little detail we noticed and probably many more that we didn't. And most importantly, thank you for taking such extraordinary care of our family and our loved one. If you are reading reviews because you are facing the loss of someone you love, I cannot recommend Husband Family Funeral Home highly enough. This is where you want your family to be cared for. The staff and the quality of the service and the quality of the body display super seated the price. The piece of mine, that the husband family funeral service rendered to myself and my family was priceless. Shaquita was very patient during the coordinating process, and Audrey was very courteous to the family during the funeral and mr. Anderson was very courteous and timely with transporting us to the funeral home and back home after service. We our hearts are warm, knowing that our grandmother was late to rest the best possible way.

We checked the website for the hours of the cemetery to make sure the office would be open during our visit so we could find a loved one. When arriving on site we found the office closed nearly 30 minutes early. We found some landscapers on site and they said the office personnel "left early cause it's a holiday weekend." This is very unprofessional as many visitors are probably in town because of the holiday. We also found that many of the markers and decorations were left in poor condition when we walked through looking for our marker. It also appears there were numerous pet droppings across the cemetery. Not impressed at all by this facility.

Last year, my Mom and I went to visit Santeiu, as my Mom was elderly and declining, and I begged her not to leave all those decisions up to me at the last minute. We were so lucky to meet with Anne Santeiu-Ellis. She was caring and kind, and not at all pushy. Even though we were discussing the planning for, and purchasing of, end-of-life items and services, Anne has a soothing, calming voice and manner that helps you stay calm instead of becoming sad and hysterical. We picked out Mom's casket and vault, which made me feel better, because now I knew that my Mom was going to be buried in the casket of her own choosing. And her headstone would say exactly what she wanted. Anne called Acacia cemetery and let us know what their procedures and costs would be. Considering that no one wants to think of death and dying and funerals, Anne walked us through it in a compassionate way that made us feel relieved in making our choices in advance. Bless my Mom for having chosen in advance the outfit she wanted to be buried in. My Mom died on June 16, 2023. Brandy Carter assured us that she would treat my Mom with the utmost in respect and dignity. She washed and styled my Mom's hair as my sister had asked, and also painted Mom's fingernails red to match her outfit. They did indeed, dress my Mom in everything exactly as asked. This helped us to feel considerably relieved. John Ellis, III, let my sister and I spend time with my Mom before leaving for the cemetery. He was gracious and compassionate, which also helped with our grief. Everyone we met at Santeiu was kind and caring. I am so happy that everything went smoothly, with no arguing or hard feelings. Life itself seems like nonstop arguing over everything, and most people encountered nowadays don't seem to care about anyone except themselves. We appreciated that Santeiu treated us so thoughtfully, caringly, and compassionately. They understood that my Mom was deeply loved, that she had existed, and that her life had mattered. They definitely helped make a sad situation more bearable. Thank you to everyone at Santeiu. There is a photo of the flowers in her casket spray that I posted in the Google Reviews. I was not able to attach it here. My Mom had silk flowers all around the house, and I thought it would be lovely if we could use her silk flowers in the casket spray. My sister found "A Budding Florist," only 2 blocks away from Santeiu, and Sal agreed to work with our silk flowers. The arrangement he created was absolutely beautiful, and we couldn't have been happier. We are happy that her beautiful silk flowers were buried with her. If you have silk flowers you would like used in your funeral ceremony, please contact Sal at A Budding Florist. My Mom's name is Letitia Anna Vezane. Please see her obituary at the Santeiu website.

Although it was late a night they made the arrangements to do so. Then, mom and I met with Larry the next day to begin the planning process. He asked us questions to understand our needs and walked us through several different options, including options for flowers, cards, guest book, military honors, selecting a minister, etc. He also explained they would order the death certificates for us and notify social security. He made the process easy to understand and with transparency regarding all costs. His staff was very helpful too. A few days later I called and asked about photo boards and the woman I spoke with told me I could come by and pick some up, along with a bag of pins, to take home. I took them home and made up a few boards of photos to show during the service. On the day of the funeral I went in a little early to drop off the photo boards. My neighbors also dropped off some food and beverages and a cooler with ice in the lower level sitting area. Matt was very helpful during the service as were other women who worked there. Larry checked in as well. During the service we had more people than anticipated and they quickly arranged more chairs. We also had the option to use the chapel for the service but decided to stay in the room up front. We had a lovely service for my dad and we thought that Pastor Drex did a really nice job. Because we were leaving the funeral home and going directly to dinner, they told me I could leave everything and come back the next day to pick everything up, which I did. Matt helped me load all the flowers in my car and he had everything ready to go for me including the flag, death certificates, all of the photos (they took down the photo boards for me), the guest book, extra memorial cards, and my dad's ashes. We were really pleased with the care and consideration of the entire team. They helped take a lot of stress out of the arrangements for us during a difficult time.
