I was appalled with my experience at Uinta Golf St George. I went in to trade two wedges, a brand new Vokey 46 degree and a mint condition Glide 2.0 58 degree wedge with an S400 shaft. To my surprise, I was told that my Glide 58 degree was only worth 20 dollars. 20 dollars for a brand new wedge with a Tour edition S400 shaft? The shaft alone is valued at $60, never mind the wedge itself. Add maybe $30 value since it's an older model, and that wedge should sell for at least $90, anything less than $80 being a terrific deal. Not $20. $20 is the price I bought an old Hickory 1-iron for, not a mint condition Tour-issued wedge you can't find on the market. For background, this was a wedge I had ordered from the Tour van at a Canadian Tour event I played in a couple years ago. This wedge had maybe 10 hits on it, and was still in mint condition- the only reason I was trading it in being me not happy with how much bounce it had. It was still a good club though and worth every dollar of what it should be elsewhere. Anyways, the same employee also told me that my Vokey 46 degree was worth maybe $50 max, not realizing that I had ordered it brand new from Titleist 3 weeks ago for $160. He then told me that it would probably be of more value as a desert club than being a trade in here. Apparently, hitting 2 fairway bunker shots with a brand new wedge devalues it $100, but what do I know? I just have 20 years of tournament experience and play to a plus handicap nowadays. Needless to say, they were lucky that I was in need of a wedge right there- as I had a tournament in 3 days and my 60 degree had been stolen, so begrudgingly they got my business still, but for the first and last time. As a tournament player with over 20 years of experience, including D1 collegiate and professional level events, I know golf clubs very well. Some of my highest finishes include a low amateur finish in the 2016 Hawaii State Open, a top 10 finish at the IMG Junior World event at Torrey Pines, and a made cut in a Canadian Tour event. I've also been the first alternate into two Tour events, the PGA Tour Sony Open in Hawaii, and the second alternate into the European Tour Hong Kong Open. Needless to say, I know the industry quite well including how things work. I will not be back and will be taking my business elsewhere in the future. Stay away if you want a legit experience. Avoid This Golf Nightmare: Where do I even begin with Uinta Golf? My recent experience there was nothing short of a disaster.Customer service? What customer service? I might as well have been invisible. The staff looked like they'd rather be anywhere else than helping customers. When I finally managed to get someone's attention, they were about as helpful as a broken tee. No knowledge, no enthusiasm--just a blank stare and a mumbled response that left me more confused than when I started. Overall, Uinta Golf Store is a prime example of how not to run a retail business. From the dismal atmosphere to the abysmal customer service, every aspect of this store screams "stay away!" Worst customer service and organization I have ever seen from a business. I wanted to get new shafts for my irons that I ordered online because the stock ones were way too heavy. I thought Uinta would be a good place to do this because they have a certified club fitter. The guys working there had no intention of helping me find the right shaft, and just wanted me to get the same shafts I have been playing on my previous irons. Seems very lazy for a certified club fitter to say this without seeing any swings or numbers. I was in a rush though, so I went with it and they said they would order them and have them in 3 days. They were supposed to call but didn't call for 8 days, I call them to figure out if the shafts got in and they said they lost my number. Then proceed to tell me the shafts they recommended were discontinued. I'd like to think professionals in the golf industry would be up to date on the products offered, especially certified club fitters. Obviously not the case here. So after all this, the main guy who works there Brent I think is his name tells me to come down to hit a similar shaft. I tell him I'll be there in 30 minutes and he said he'd get me set up with a blade iron in the shafts to make sure I'm getting proper numbers. I show up and the guy isn't even there, and when I ask about it the other workers act like I was being weird for wanting to hit specific clubs. They then proceed to use a callaway apex for one shaft and a mizuno pro for the other? Don't think these are very comparable irons how can you tell the difference between shafts when the iron type isn't the same? I then go with a shaft I was hitting well because whatever I just want a shaft that will work at this point. They then tell me they'll call in 3 days after they order them. It has been about 10 days with no call, pretty sure they never ordered them. Just so extremely unprofessional. Like I'm trying to give y'all money and order $500 worth of shafts and y'all don't want to do a single thing to help me out or help me find the right product. Absolutely terrible business and the people that work there are pretty rude and unhelpful. I don't know if it is because I'm a young guy but they just didn't take me seriously at all. If you are a good golfer and are looking for people that know what they are doing, do not go to this place it's an absolute let down. They are too lazy to put in any work to help you out and forget to do their job 90% of the time. Will not be going here ever again. I am extremely happy with the Uinta golf store and staff! Aside from the up most quality and sections of Clubs, bags, clothes, and golfing equipment, this store has the best customer service! Not just for a golf store but for any store. I recently purchased a very expensive rangefinder that was not insured through their store. For some reason my rangefinder hand a defect and I was unhappy. They took my info to send the rangefinder into Bushnell so it could be repaired (since they do not warranty equipment other than clubs) and rather than me waiting 2-3 weeks for a new one, they exchanged me with a brand new one! That to me is excellent customer service. Thanks Uinta! I will be buying all my golf needs from this store!!! read more

Wish Yelp had six stars I would give it to them! Very nice and knowledgable. Made the fitting process easy and comfortable. I got my new Nike clubs and a new Nike Driver. They didn't have the Nike driver I wanted with a stiff shaft in stock, so they swapped out the exact same (except it was stiff) from a different Nike driver. I was traveling with my family and the re gripped and adjusted the lie angle while I waited. They were quick too! I will drive up from Vegas anytime to buy clubs from these guys. My brother had the same experience with them two years ago when he bought his clubs from them! Thanks for saving my golf trip!! read more

I am very disappointed with my most recent encounter with Uinta. Long story short: I tasked Uinta to reshaft a Mizuno Wedge that had a broken shaft. The shaft wanted--and told to Uinta's club mechanic--was a (Nippon) NS Pro 950GH. The club was reshafted with a True Temper X95 stiff which I did not discover until returning home (no glasses when I picked it up). I was angry about being "shafted" and complained to Uinta about the shaft only to be told it was MY FAULT: a) I did not bring in the broken portion (why do I have to prove my reading ability?), b) I SUPPOSEDLY told another Unita employee I would be O.K. with a NS Pro equivalent. A) True, B) False. I am OCD about my club configurations. If I wanted a different shaft in my wedge, I'd buy a whole new set of clubs. After many angry words on both our parts, Uinta is correcting THEIR error. Thus the 2nd star. read more

Great shop. Stopped in to change drivers. After explaining my lack of distance, they suggested a Ping G15 with a draw. Being a left handed senior, I needed all the help I could get. Have increased my distance by 10-15 yards and my Ping is most forgiving! read more
