After my deductible, they paid approx. $1500 for repairs. Immediately my rates were raised, as expected. I just received another notice of a rate increase, basing the increase on the accident from over 2 years ago. This was my first claim, no other violations or claims, and they are after more money. Pure Greed. The agent would not reply to questions as to why the rates were increasing. Obviously I am not a valuable customer even after years of being claim-free. In June of 2012 I was hit by a red light runner in downtown Denver and I was injured. I am still trying to get American Family to pay me the benefits I'm owed. They haven't given me one red cent from the UIM policy I paid for for years. I've turned to Tim repeatedly for help. Tim has been completely unable to help me as a claimant in any way. He has been very slow to respond at times. Tim, in my opinion, isn't very interested in helping the people that pay his salary AND bonuses. Unless he is helping them buy more American Family products. While the American Family claims adjusters have continued to consistently undervalue my claim, Tim has been trying to get me to buy life insurance for 4 people. If I can't get a claim paid while I'm alive how would I ever get one paid if I died. For me, American Family Insurance was a bad investment. In my opinion, Timothy Bernitt Agency is not a wise choice either.
