Words can not express how grateful I am to Tim. I'm a pro wedding photographer who shoots 100% film. I had over 80 rolls of processed film that my normal lab couldn't get done. It was one excuse after the other, and a couple was considering litigation because their photos are late. I called Tim and he stayed open for me and scanned 25 rolls of film so I could catch up. He is the kindest man I've ever met. He wouldn't accept a cash tip and declined when I insisted I wanted to pay him more for his trouble. He runs his business honestly and fairly. Dropped off 3 old vhs tapes last week on Monday. Ulmer was responsive by phone when I called asking hours, prices, what to expect, etc. When I arrived to his shop, he was the only employee working and there were 4 of us in line, but he acknolwedged each of is and gave us a reasonable expectation time on when he could get to us. I was the 4th person and it was a 5 minute wait. Its $20 per tape up to 2 hours of video onto a dvd. He does it in house. He said he had a few larger orders so it might be done by Friday, but he called me up on Thursday to let me know it was ready. He said he has a machine that does this in house and he doesn't watch whats on the videos. When I had price pointed this at walmart it was $15.95 to do yourself on their monitors for the first 1.5 hours of video and then $5.95 extra every half hour and they didn't train or guide you on how to do it. Plus you give a local businessman money instead of a corporation so its a win win! read more

Just opened Ulmer up on Yelp to double check when they open & couldn't believe I haven't left a review yet- this has been the only place I go for any of my photo (especially film related) needs in town ever since I moved back from SF. Tim Ulmer is the man. I haven't had a question yet that he couldn't answer for me but he always points me in the right direction to dig a little deeper anyways. He stocks all kinds of supplies for developing/processing/printing along with a solid selection of film, and if he doesn't have it he can place orders for you no problem. Also has a lot of used gear in stock, often with some really cool pieces & always at fair prices. Multiple times he has given me free pieces of equipment or stocks of supplies that other people have brought in for him to pass off to someone who could use them- extremely generous guy. Never had a single problem with my film being processed here & just due to that alone I have a hard time trusting anyone else with my film anymore. If you take your color film to Gluskin's it's getting brought over to Tim to process anyways so I recommend skipping the wait & going to the source where you can get it in an hour. Not going to find too much digital gear going on in here but if you need anything film related, or some printing done, this is the only place in the valley you oughta go. read more

Great location on Weber. Parking is around the corner or sidestreet but it's totally worth the short walk.
