Beware! I began the process with Ulrich Lifestyle in December 2023, and after many frustrating months, we finally completed the project. The communication throughout the entire process was atrocious. If you were lucky enough to get someone to call you back, everything they said was a lie. After the shed was built onsite, I discovered that, due to its size (12×20), a permit was required. When I inquired about this, they told me it was my responsibility to obtain the permits. Leaving such a crucial task up to the customer is absurd. I spent months going back and forth with them about permitting, which eventually required an engineer to approve the specs. Fortunately, I anticipated issues and documented everything--I have recordings and emails of all the lies I was told. One of the main representatives who misled me is no longer with the company, according to the last person I spoke with. Oh, and I was told that l'm a "difficult customer/project" and that's why I don't hear back. I guess demanding an update after 8 attempts of Months of trying makes me a "difficult customer/project" Beware of this company. There is no way they should continue their business practices this way. I strongly advise against using Ulrich Lifestyle. read more

The shed is fine. I wish I had just gone with Tough Shed or paid a local contractor to build our shed because the project management and total lack of communication made this experience awful. The "Project Manager" Zach never reached out, I had to chase him down. Contractors showed up, were supposed to build the shed in one day... they did not. Then they left and no-showed the following day. Our Project Manager did not call and then would not respond to text messages or emails. I had taken the day off from work to be there. Eventually another team showed up days later after I had to go up the chain of command at Ulrich to let them know what was going on. They did a fine job, not amazing, but fine. Then the project manager never followed up. Months later, I get one call asking me to sign a certificate of completion; however it wasn't complete because it was missing the loft that we paid for. Then another person reached out threatening to "come take the shed away" if I didn't pay the second installment; however, NOBODY sent me an invoice for the second installment. If I could give them a negative star review I would. I custom ordered 2 sheds, and discussed at length what I would use them for. My plan was to insulate and drywall them and use them for additional office/workspaces. I should have sent them back the moment they arrived. There were imperfections on the outside and the wood used on the inside looked like it was whatever scraps they had a their build site. I took photos and contacted them immediately. I had to follow-up every step of the way and it took over 7 months to resolve all of the issues. Multiple people took over 'fixing all of the problems'. I was passed from person to person, with very little follow through. I had people not show up (or call to let me know they were not coming) when they were scheduled to come and work on the sheds. It took at least 6 visits to 'fix' everything. The barn doors were not even and they Leaked in the rain. The windows were not installed well and the framing was uneven. The nails were not tapped in and caulked or painted over, the wood was splitting and rotting in the frames inside the doors. The siding on the roof was bent with nails sticking out. There were nails sticking out on the inside framing and splintered wood. I paid for the upgraded door handles and hinges, the shed arrived with mismatched hinges and bolts. They were different colors and they were not the upgraded bolts that can not be removed from the outside. The list goes on and on. I have tons of photos of the shoddy workmanship. I have emails and text messages and call logs from all of the people in customer service who were going to help 'make it right'. I had to call and email repeatedly to get any sort of response. I 100% would NEVER get a shed from Ulrich. I 100% regret not getting one from Tuffshed. I 100% have told three of my friends and colleagues that have ordered sheds to go with Tuffshed over Ulrich. My money was not defective, their sheds were. Their customer service is beyond subpar. If I could go back in time, I never would have ordered a shed from Ulrich. read more

The people working at this company are so unprofessional. We have already given this company over 12,000 dollars and have yet to see anything started. We can't get anyone to answer their phones, their texts, their emails. The only saving grace at this company has been our salesman Chris, the lady in the office in Texas, Ashley, and one other salesman, who actually has nothing to do with our job, Brian. These are the only 3 people that have been willing to try to get us information. Our project manager, Zach, is MIA. We signed our contract in January and now we are in June and nothing... They have to do a very small amendment and that is only because someone in their company dropped the ball and did not communicate with other people involved in the project and notify them that I had paid extra to have the company do the concrete for us. They scheduled a build date for May 8th and then did not show up on May 8th and never even bothered to call and tell us that they were not coming. Then they showed up on May 9th only to realize that the concrete that THEY had been paid to do was not done. And apparently someone doesn't know how to read a permit/plan approval because all of the sudden (we had the approved plans on April 24th, plenty of time for then to figure this out, since now we are talking about mid-May), we're being told that our plan for the building was approved but not the foundation so now we are being told we either have to pay more money to do the concrete because the prices of concrete had gone up or change the way the foundation is because supposedly the city didn't approve it. They finally agreed not to charge us more money but they needed to do an amendment to the plan, and now here we are 3.5 weeks later and we still have not heard anything from our project manager and no one wants to answer their phones or return our calls. At this point, my husband and I are filing complaints with the BBB and the Contractors licensing board. read more

I wish there was an option for negative stars for this company. My family has paid over $25,000 for a shed at our home and have had nothing but excuses if any explanation at all to the countless delays and problems. We went with this company because their product seems like it's a step above competitors in our area... however I will probably never actually see it built at the rate this process is going ....on top of the constant lack of communication through this whole process. This company in my opinion is horrible.. the project manager doesn't get involved in anything we need or the project requires and now we're being told they're gonna need another $7000 for a slab that weve already paid $4000 in the original price for (our shed is 10' x 20'). Bottom line this company has really made this whole process a nightmare and they don't seem to care in the least bit about satisfying the customer... instead they pass the blame to their main office... then to the city... then back to the main office.
