One of the worst experiences I've had at a hair salon. I asked for a ombré look that has my natural hair (second picture shown and was used as reference) and what I got after TWO tries was a blunt brassy dye job. I have never had any issues with lightening my hair before. And to get charged $195, for this?! My balayage for my wedding was way cheaper and MUCH better looking than this (different salon). I'm disappointed to have to write this review but even more disappointed that I'm stuck with this hair. This was after the stylist had two tries, used toner and "let the purple shampoo sit" in my hair for some time. I wish I would have known how bad it looked in the back and with natural lighting before leaving. Management has still not contacted me after I called the store and left my information. Update!!! After getting in contact with the salon manager/owner, she refused to give me a full refund but offered to fix my hair herself. I did get $60 back, and agreed to come in for a 3rd attempt. This experience was MUCH better. The owner, Amanda, was able to take out the brassy tone and blend the colors so it's no longer blunt. While it's not exactly the color as I wanted, it is SO much better and I feel like I got my money's worth. Also another stylist, Brandon, was super nice and styled my hair perfectly, making sure to inform me on the products he used in my hair. I'm glad I gave this place another chance, and was able to walk out happy with my hair. read more

I'm not happy. I've been to Studio Luxe before for a cut and it was fine - not great, not terrible. Just a normal haircut. I connected well with one of the stylists that has been certified in coloring. She's supposedly been doing it for roughly 12 years. My boyfriend made an appointment here and paid for anything I wanted to get done. It was my Valentine's Day present. I was so excited, so I researched what I wanted done. I chose a balyage with dark brown at the top and light blonde at the bottom. I asked that the brown have a slightly coppery tone to it. She picked a good base and began doing all of her work. She began her work. I noticed that she was pitting lightener awfully high up, but I thought that was just blending so I didn't mention it. Keep in mind that I have never had professional color some before, so I wasn't sure what the process was. She handed me off for shampooing, during which she told the owner of the salon to add toner to my hair. I didn't know what toner is. She painted it on while I was in the bowl, let it sit, and came back to wash it. When I looked in the mirror, I was appalled. She turned half of my head pink. There was a definitive line about an inch from my roots where the red was applied. She couldn't even put it close to my roots to blend it? I kept asking my original stylish if the red would wash out or fade, and I told her I wasn't expecting that at all and it wasn't what I had shown her. All she kept saying was that it's new to me, and to sit on it for awhile. I would come around to it. I would not have paid, but my boyfriend had prepaid since it was a gift. I called back about an hour later saying I needed the red out and I hated it. I was told I was undercharged the first time and would need to pay for a color correction, and all she would do is bleach it out. That would mean my entire head would be blonde. Are you kidding me? I ended up having to go to a different salon for FIVE MORE HOURS for a color correction. 4 stylists there worked on correcting the red. I paid the exact same price to get it fixed at the second salon. I was happy to pay there. They did wonderfully. I'll be in touch with Studio Luxe to get my money back, but if they refuse it, I'll be filing a claim with the BBB. Stay away from this salon. read more

I originally wrote a pretty strongly worded, negative review of this salon. I'm replacing it because it was about one stylist who is no longer employed there. (I was assured he wasn't let go because of me. I certainly hope I didn't get someone fired). What's more, the owner of the salon called me to apologize and offered me a free haircut with someone I'd had a good experience with before. That really made an impression on me. I was surprised by the bad experience I had considering all the positive reviews this place has. I think this is a good salon that had a couple bad apples. I'm definitely willing to give it another chance, and I'm sincerely impressed that the owner took the time to call me, a person who, by my review, sounding like a crazy, angry you-know-what, and personally apologize and make things right. She sounded sincere and completely understanding. I haven't gone in for my free cut yet, so I can't say 5 stars right now. But even so, I can say that the owner of this salon cares about the customers and the salon's reputation. That's enough for me to amend my review. read more

Would never go back. Here's why: Pros -Can get an appointment fast -Short wait -Friendly staff Cons -Staff gossips like crazy. You expect general chit-chat, but the guy cutting my hair (Steven?) talked the entire time to other staff members about EVERYTHING going on in his and his friends' lives. It was super uncomfortable. -Instead of telling me that they don't know how to handle African-American hair, the guy cutting it gave me the worst cut I've ever had. It was a bob that should have come down at an angle in the front (longer in the front, shorter in the back). Instead, I ended up with a butchered cut that was short around the ears and long in the back. It was worse than I can even describe. There were other crazy lengths all throughout. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and it was NOTHING like the picture, although he said it would be easy to accomplish. He cut off all of my beautiful curly hair and left me with a MESS. Perhaps if he had stopped talking for a few minutes, he could have actually focused on my hair. It was like he didn't even care. I walked out of there with a frizzy mess of a haircut cut. I could have done better on my own. He wanted me to come back to get color done and I wouldn't step back in that place even if it was the last salon on earth. This cut was done in October, and it's now finally growing out. This experience was so bad that I've decided I'll do my own hair from now on. Note: When looking at pictures, keep in mind that I had very long hair when I went in. He had a lot to work with to mold any way he liked. He basically just chopped it all off. My hair is also very silky and easy to work with...even for those with little experience with black hair. Edit: I was called by the salon and they left a message apologizing and wanting me to come in to have my hair fixed. It's been more than 6 months now, and my hair is growing back. First off, all the staff and nail tech were very pleasant and I enjoyed talking with them. However, my gel manicure is so disappointing. The gel is all over my nail beds and under nail tip. The edges are rough and chunky. The white tip boarders are pretty good but most look bad. These pics are from day two and I already can't wait to get them done again to get rid of this. I can't believe the tech left behind some of my old polish! It's clearly visible through the clear on most of my nails! If she couldn't get it all off, I wish she would've said that, and I would've chosen a solid color to hide it! Not showcase it! They look bad. My search for a quality gel manicure will continue. It's a nice salon with lovely staff, but my experience wasn't quite what I hoped for. A few weeks ago I needed to get tape in extensions applied and didn't trust myself to do it. I called Studio Luxe and they were very accommodating and took me the next day. They didn't mind that I brought my own extensions, I just had to sign a waver saying they were at no fault if the extensions caused me damage since it wasn't purchased through them. I forgot the name of the girl who applied my extensions (I think it was Ashely?) she was extremely sweet, but struggled with the application. I could tell she was having trouble with the placement - a couple of times she had to pull pieces she stuck onto my hair out to reapply and it was quite painful. A piece on the side of my head was applied crooked (which I was told would make it blend more naturally, but honestly it's harder to conceal.) They're not supposed to be applied at an angle like that, so I got a little nervous. One of the 40 pieces I brought in somehow got lost, but I didn't mind, so we managed with an even 38. Once they were all applied, she was nice enough to then cut them shorter (they were ridiculously long) to blend them with my real hair, and it looked great from the back... but I like my hair to sit over my shoulders in the front, and it looked HORRIDLY jagged that way. I had to ask her more than once to trim them to look natural, but it didn't make much of a difference. I eventually felt bad that I kept asking her to go back in and fix it, which she struggled to do, so I ignored it and cut/fixed it myself once I got home. It cost over 200 dollars to get these applied, which took less than an hour (maybe 45 mins max?) AND I had to fix the cut myself when I got home, which for that price is pretty unacceptable. It was paid without a fuss. I understand that getting your hair done can be costly, but the pricing for this was ridiculous. Another reviewer here said she paid 130 for bleach, tone, shampoo and conditioner. Why did mine cost over 200 for less than an hour of work that I had to fix myself with product that I provided?? read more

Do NOT buy the yelp deals/promotions for this salon! I just left after having purchased a $100 voucher and the salon did not honor it. There is some miscommunication and disconnect between yelp and the owner, which I found out the hard way. Prior to the checkout though, the experience was great. They were right on schedule with the appointment and it went well. She promoted a relaxed envioronment and was knowledgable about what she was doing. I just wish the manager/owner had been more accomodating and honored the deal that was advertised. I intended to spend $50 but inherently had to pay the full price value of $80, after struggling to get ahold of yelp in a failed attempt to get my original $100 back, which left a sour last impression for me. read more

I visited Studio Luxe Salon earlier this year and I was pleased with their services. The salon is very nice, but quite cramped. The staff was courteous but I ended up waiting over 1 hour, even though I had an appointment. The haircut I received was very pretty and their haircutting technique was different from most other places, but I don't think it was worth their high price. The salon offers 3 tiers of pricing, which depend on the level of experience of the hairstylist, but all tiers are pretty pricey. I probably will not be returning to Studio Luxe. I am sure I can find a place with the same quality but a better price. read more

I would give this studio 5 out of 5 stars! Brandon does a fantastic job and I always come out loving my haircut. I use to go to other salons (paying only $10-16) every month because my hair would feel so dead. The haircuts go a long way and I have never been so happy with the way my hair looks. I know I am guaranteed to get a good hair cut if I go to Ashley, Krista or Amanda. If I need to book an appointment, I always tell the receptionist to book me with one of them and I would be happy with all 3! They know how to make me feel special and always remember me when I come in. I also regularly get spray tans there as well and I'm in love with their mystic booth. I moved about 40 minutes away from Stow but I can't bring myself to go anywhere else so I make the drive when I need a cut, color or tan! The only downside is the cost. Its very easy to drop $300 going there but you get what you pay for and I can pay for a $10 cut at best cuts and hate it or $300 at Studio Luxe for the whole shebang and love it! read more

I have been going to Studio Luxe for several years. I had gone to several stylists and salons all over the area that ranged in price and specialty. My hair is pretty straight, but I find a lot of stylist will just do what you tell them you "think" you want versus offering consulting. Krista and the rest of the staff are absolutely fantastic, and she blows me away every time. The only problem is that I do feel that they are very pricey, so I tend not to go as often as I would like. But I guess that's the kicker that I keep coming back because Krista does such an amazing job! read more

I have to give 5 stars-and I'm so picky about my hair! So glad I went to Studio Luxe. The staff was wonderful, the stylists were super friendly, well educated, professional, and great at their jobs. I felt pampered and came out with wonderful hair. They had to do a color correction on my blonde from a previous salon-and I wasn't sure how they were going to be able to fix it-but they did with no problems. They are very gentle with sensitive scalps, no pulling or tugging your hair, and the dry cut technique has left my hair with more body than it's ever had. Thank you again! read more

I had high hopes for this salon since the online reviews were so promising, but it ended up being a disappointing experience. I called this past Monday around noon to schedule an appointment because my regular salon messed up my ombre and are closed Mondays. The receptionist said that she could get me in at 4:15, which made me very happy that they were willing to help me. Definitely a pro. There was a bit of a wait which was to be expected since my appointment was last minute. I didn't mind. However, it ended up being that the owner was dealing with three clients (including myself) while the other stylist was dealing with one client who had waist-length, jet black hair and wanted to go blonde. The other client that the owner was working with also had black hair and was wanting to go blonde. I waited patiently while they did their best to accommodate me. They were very kind to me. The only part that made me extremely annoyed was that the client with long black hair didn't get the results she wanted and was arguing with the owner. After she left, the owner vented to me that her bill was supposed to be $100 and she only paid $50. The other client yelled across the salon that she only had $130 in cash and wanted a haircut as well, but the owner said that it wouldn't be enough, so I'm assuming she paid the $130 for her black-to-blonde experience without the cut. MY TURN TO PAY - I got there at 4:10 and didn't leave until 7:30 just from waiting. She didn't even use color on my entire head - just the ombre parts that needed fixed. I didn't get a cut. Her first attempt at fixing my ombre didn't work, so she had to do it again. The third time was still messed up but I didn't say anything because I just wanted to leave. All she used on HALF OF MY HAIR lightener, toner, and shampoo/conditioner and my bill was $120. What?? So you're telling me that a woman who had long, thick hair and took up their entire day only paid $50 because she complained, and the other girl who also took up hours of their time and much more product paid $130... and I had to pay $120? For what? My ombre still isn't even fixed. I was hoping since I was there for over three hours that maybe she would offer some type of discount on the service or future service but nope - nothing. I feel taken advantage of just because I was patient and had a debit card instead of cash only like that other girl. Krista has been doing my hair for 7 years and I even followed her to this salon. I have sent multiple people to her, who have all been extremely satisfied with her work. Krista has always done exactly what I need and want. The staff is always very welcoming and friendly. The salon is extremely efficient and always very clean. I went to another salon and nothing compares to my experience at Studio Luxe. I would gladly pay twice the amount now because I always walk out feeling like a million bucks without having to spend a million! ! If your need for a pick me up Krista is your girl!! I was lucky enough to experience the Ouidad cut at the salon in NY and I loved it! When I relocated for work I searched for a Ouidad certified salon in Ohio and found Krista @ Studio Luxe. I'm only giving one star b/c Krista and the staff were nice! I cannot give an honest evaluation of the haircut because the styling was so bad that I couldn't wait to leave I was so embarrased. I showed her pics of my original Ouidad cut so she could see how it should look but it did not matter. You would think that with the same thing Ouidad cutting method and products that I would walk away with a cut that I was pleaesd with... Nope! My springy 3c/4a curls were transformed into a frizzy strawlikie mess, I looked better when I walked into the salon! I drove 2.5hrs and paid over $100 only to leave from the salon with my hair in a ponytail and my feelings hurt!! I"m so upset! I've never written a Yelp review before but after my experience today, I had to. Maybe individuals with straight hair will have better luck @ Studio Luxe but the Ouidad cut /style did not live up to the name and level of skill of Ouidad stylists and I do not reccomend for curly girls at all.
