I absolutely hate shopping here. I would rather shop Ulta.com anytime. The last time I shopped here, there were more employees in the store than shoppers, and I was approached 5 different times in a span of 10 minutes. "Still finding everything ok?" "Still finding everything ok?" "Still finding everything ok?" STOP. I should just wear a sign that says, "I see you. I'll ask." In fairness to this store, this happens at other Ulta stores, too. Ulta looses a star for the brow bar. I stopped by this past weekend to peruse the store and I see that the brow bar customer free. I got really excited because I really needed a brow wax. I ask the girl there if she was available. She tells me she's not and she can take me in an hour. Really? There's NO ONE in the seats and she'd rather turn away business? Uh, yeah. I'll pass on giving you mine. I'll still shop at the store, but that experience made me very sore. read more

I just found out that my stylist, Mary S., just moved to this Ulta location so I wanted to make sure to give her some props. She's been my stylist for a few years now and I couldn't be happier. I'm not very picky about my hair so luckily she always has a new idea about what to do with the color or cut. She's always friendly and I can't wait to check her out in her new spot. read more

If I could give this place 0 starts I would. I got my hair and makeup done here. When the lady was done with my hair there was a black band on my hair. She also did a V cut and it's definitely uneven. The woman who did my makeup must need to take MUA classes again because my foundation was not the right shade the colors where applied unevenly on my lids. She applied wayyyy too much blush and the eyeshadows where not blended properly. I regret cheating on my stylist 100000%. Never again will I step foot in an ulta to get any kind of anything done. read more

Friendly salon folks, knowledgeable. I go to Kelly for my hair (and my daughters' hair), but others have helped out when needed. My biggest drawback are the prices, $20 for a brow wax is pricey to me, when I can go across the street and get it for $10 (which is what I now do). But, I will stay loyal to my hairdresser, she does a great job. read more

This hair salon is a joke. My niece had her hair styles for prom, it looked awful. Haircuts are awful. The worst, however; is their hair coloring. Just trust me, and dont bother. Their senior stylists are the worst, so apparently experience does not equal quality. read more

I went to this location regularly when it first opened (it was the only place I bought my products) but then I moved. So the last time I was in the area, I thought I would take time to restock my essentials. And, because it is Ulta, I was fully prepared to come out of there with far more than I needed (I always get distracted by the new product displays...). So here is my big haul: Concealer, eye shadow, and a small body butter. I guess I should thank Ulta because I spent less than expected, but it certainly wasn't by choice. The shelves and displays in the make-up section were so picked over that it looked like a bad discount store. If I found the product I wanted, it wasn't in the color I needed. WHAT HAPPENED HERE?! It used to be a fun place to shop but that night, it was just frustrating. The only positives were the 20% coupon I had and the associate who was very friendly and upbeat, even though she was the only one handling a long line at the register. read more

Love the salon and benefit brow bar! Whitney at benefit is so fast the wax is practically painless and my brows always look amazing! $20 for brows is a tad high but she does a great job! I also got a hair cut at the salon with Sam and she was wonderful! The hour I sat in the chair flew by, she really takes her time to make sure my hair turned out exactly how I wanted it and it looks wonderful for only $35! I will surely be back! read more

Ulta in Algonquin Commons has by far the WORST customer service I've ever experienced on a regular basis. I have been a frequent customer there for a while now, and every single time I'm there, the cashiers & sales associates have treated me as if helping me is beneath them, and they clearly have no interest in helping. Long story short, the employees I have interacted with have not been helpful, knowledgeable, or even the slightest bit polite. After this week, I have decided to stop shopping there. If you are in Algonquin and looking to shop for makeup/haircare/skincare, I recommend a certain other well-known prestige cosmetics store right up the street, they are much more friendly and actually know how to assist their customers read more

Been here a few times and I just feel like a ghost walking in to the store except ONE time when I was colored match to a foundation that was super off my skin tone! The lady skin match me to a tan in Lorac Porefection foundation and it was COMPLETELY off my complexion! She must of been on crack or something bc when I swathed it on my face at home ,you can definitely tell that wasn't my color! I was pale compare to tan and because I was in a hurry and trusted her on what color best fit me. I just grabbed it and didn't bother to even look. BIG MISTAKE I KNOW. The employees here need more training on customers service and their needs bc every time I come here everyone is always just quiet and introverted until you ask them a question. They don't pay attention to you and plus they talk fast like they are in a rush like take a break from stocking the shelves to help your customer's need or questions! Also, this place is NEVER stock on the items I come for. It's been 3 weeks now and I was told shipment will come in for the Lorac cosmetic on every Friday and went there on Monday, they were still OUT OF STOCK. I prefer the ULTA IN ORLAND PARK rather this one. This place is full of dead zombie employees that don't care about customers or communication. They are just working to have a job and to get paid. That's just how I feel. I wouldn't even go here again bc I get no help or if I do, it's not in a formal and professional way when dealing with a customers. Like how are you going to keep stacking boxes and items on the shelves and not even pay attention to me and rushing through what your telling me? That's not a professional way to approach a customer's question by answering it like that in that kind of way. Stop what your doing and make direct eye contact like your supposed too! I had a gift certificate and needed a hair cut. I explained that I wanted a bob which was longer in the front. My mistake was talking to my daughter who had accompanied me there and not paying close attention to what the stylist was doing because when the stylist was done what I was left with doesn't even resemble a bob. There is a three inch wide spot in the back that is layered so short that the top layer is barely 2 inches long while the top layers on the sides are about 8 inches long. I have tried everything to blend this section into a hair style but nothing works. I spoke with another stylist who suggested cutting all my hair short (boyish short) to blend it with the mistake area. I have not been willing to go that short so I spend every day wearing a hat and praying that my hair grows out fast. read more

My natural hair color is a copper red The grays were coming in to fast I have used a box color but decided to treat myself to a salon color The box color was ok but and had a few problems so since I go to Ulta to get my haircut and have been happy with the cuts I thought I would get my coloring done there My advise is DO NOT I was shown some choices and picked the one I felt comfortable with After I had the color applied my stylist set the timer and then per corporate policy went on to cut another persons hair my timer went off and I sat there for another 15 minutes when she was done with the haircut she RUSHED me to the back to rinse my hair when I looked in the mirror my hair was BROWN WITH RED HIGHLITES I kept saying it was to dark and kept being told it was fine another stylist chimed in and said it will wash out I paid and left not happy When I got home my boys asked why I decided to go with brown My boyfriend even said it was way to dark I have washed my hair several times and it looks worse My girlfriend who is always getting her hair done said the color was left on to long I am SO UPSET I AM IN TEARS DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR COLOR DONE HERE CUTS OK COLOR IS NOT When I brushed my hair this morning it is starting to break off This terrible color job cost me $160.00 NOW I have to spend more money to get it fixed NOT GOING BACK read more
