I would've left this at a 2, but it was my friends birthday and the tech working on her sloshed water and the jelly bath substance all into her leather/suede Birkenstocks, completely destroying a nearly $200 pair of shoes. We understand that accidents happen, but there was no sincerity or offer to reduce price or make it better. Wasn't looking for a handout, but we tried working with tech and manager and they just stared at us as we left with this poor memory. Will not be returning.

But over a period of weeks, I watched one of my girls' hair fall out. I consulted with 2 different stylists who both confirmed that her hair was overprocessed. By the time I contacted the Dominicans 2 months later, they were reluctant to do anything but give a free treatment. My daughter was 12 at the time, just coming into her own. As an African American child, she was ridiculed and teased by other children about her hair. Literally, 80% of her hair fell out. At this point, we had to start over with her new growth and braids, and she still refuses to cut the little bit of hair she has left. I've heard great reviews about this place, that's why I trusted them to do my daughters' hair. But they made a terrible mistake with one. The other twin, who has fine hair, where her sister has thick hair...her hair turned out wonderfully. Based on that alone, I will give them 3 stars. But I will never be back. Next time they make a mistake, they need to own up to it. But don't make it seem like a long time when I complained 2 months after the visit. Within 2 months, so much of my child's hair had fallen out, I was astonished. And for the record...It took 2 months to report because I didn't realize her hair was falling out until a few weeks when you could really see the difference. Her hair is thick. Initially, I only thought it was normal shedding. Then I felt compelled to get consultations from other hair stylists.

She was originally really accommodating she offered to reschedule or refund me & I chose to reschedule for April 9,2021 at 2:00. At 1:40 she messaged me on FB and asked if I could come at 2:30pm. Which I responded "Ok" and she viewed that message. I get to the shop at 2:30pm with my children and mother we go in and I see no one so I walk to the back where I see a stylist washing someone's here and asked is KINYA here? They stated she was not here TODAY. Which tells me ok I have the right location maybe she just isn't here yet. I go to my car sit there for an hr messaging Kinya with no response. I can see she got the messages but isn't responding. I leave at about 3:30pm and sent her a message to just refund me my deposit. She messages me the next day stating I didn't show up . WHAT??? I showed up she was not there and now she has stolen my money and scammed me. Do not go here they have scammers at this salon.
