Rude, condescending herd of uneducated heifers. I have never once been in this store where I had a truly wonderful experience. I guess spending less than $100 makes me an undesireable customer, oh well I can remedy that. I have not found a single product at Ulta that could not be had somewhere else. I am also tired of the bait and switch, non existing bonuses and GWP. Most recently I received text message for 50% on Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette, I checked immediately online and it was sold out, called the store sold out. Ulta keeps me interested with their mailings(w/coupons) and gifts with purchase! Mother's Day is coming up and I know Mama or Aunt Dot or somebody is gonna get something from Ulta! In Augusta, it is conveniently located near Target and Panera so you can't beat that. They also have girls who really know about everything in the store but don't bore you with all of the details. They are also friendly and don't give you that... "You're a guy. What are you doing in here?" look. I do like Sephora better for some of the available brands and samples and nice birthday gifts for the frequent shopper program. I had professional photos scheduled for today, October 5. I made an appointment for a signature blowout at 1pm. I made the appointment over a week in advance and confirmed via email. Today I was told (and told only because I called on my way there) that the appointment was cancelled and they had no one available to help me. Not a single stylist. I have a $400 commitment to photos and I wanted to look decent. The guy on the phone didn't seem to understand that I could not wait to be rescheduled or let him "call around" (as he put it) to find out what happened. I don't care what happened - I just want the service I scheduled and confirmed. Absolutely terrible non-service. read more

This review is for the salon inside Ulta. I went in for a hair cut and asked for the signature hair cut which is wash, deep conditioner, cut and dry/style. $45 on the site. I called and was able to get a same day appointment. The girl taking my information over the phone was very nice and polite. The salon isn't much. A few chairs and a wash area. I expected more considering Ulta is pretty trendy. But it was clean and well maintained. I think my stylist was a little overwhelmed. He was alone, had 2 clients in the chair before me, and immediately after I left another came in. But he was still very friendly and personable. When it was my turn, I was his only client. He did a very good job with my cut, he recommended taking more off than I wanted, we comprised and met half way and he actually listened. He didn't cut more off than we settled on. He did a decent blow dry and then ran a flat iron thru my hair. When I went to pay, the total was $50 (not $45) I figured it was extra for the flat iron...or prices just vary...who knows. I was happy with what I got an wasn't going to make a big deal over $5. All in all, I love Ulta and am happy I went to their salon. I will return there next time, and maybe for color b/c the 2 ladies before me got color and it looked great! read more

Love, love, love Ulta. This store however, has made me just want to purchase online. While some of the associates are very pleasant, and will go out of their way to be sure I receive the items I went into the store for and more; many of the newer associates will continuously walk by without attempting to initiate any sort of contact. I am a diligent user of the Clinique skin care line. Went into this location about a month ago, and purchased my normal items. Noticed new merchandise in this section, and asked the nearest associate if she was familiar with any of the most recent releases. I do understand that the staff, may not have a thorough knowledge on every product in the store but she replied "I don't know, we are supposed to get a Clinique representative soon". It wasn't even noon yet, why the lack of enthusiasm. During my visit prior to that, while I was selecting the same skin care items, an associate in a white jacket, came over to me; noticed the items I was shopping for, offered me a basket, gave me all the samples she could offer, and even convinced me to purchase additional items. Went in the store on today, was excited to see an associate at the Clinique table (tall, slim woman with short black hair, and heavy makeup); and that was shortly lived. She did have someone in her chair, but she was not doing anything at the time. She did not speak, gave me the side eye, and watched me walk over to the items I was purchasing. It was at that time, she came and stood by me, and unpleasantly asked if I located the items I need (may be a security measure to alert customer's that you're watching them...previous customer service associate). I told her that I was unable to find the clarifying lotion, and she looked under the counter, said they were out, and walked away. She may have been having a bad day, but I will only be dealing with the associates whom I am accustomed to, or I will order online. Other than that; great layout, most inventory is always in stock, and quick checkout. Most of the associates dont wear heavy makeup, and the radiance and fresh look of their face alone, could sell many of their products. read more

Eh.... I came in here to purchase some supplies that I know are carried at Ulta. I feel like the entrance is nice and what I'm accustomed to seeing but they don't have anything. Of the list of 7 items I came to either purchase or re-stock on, they had not a damn thing. Shelves and hooks are basically empty. I ordered everything online. I am writing this review with full knowledge that I am, in part, at fault for what I am about to write. I went into the store on Sunday looking for a tarte palette. While I was there a store employee came over and graciously told me about the hair event they were running at the time ($10 hair cuts/ facials with all benefits going to a breast cancer research foundation). At the time the hair dresser I saw was just finishing up her client and I was able to come in and get right to work. My haircut and wash took probably about ten minutes, and by the way this story is going I'm sure you can understand where it's going to end up. $10 hair cut, 10 minutes... While I was getting the hair cut the hair dresser had my chair so low that I could not see myself from the chin down. I have long hair and was not able to see what was happening. I told her I part my hair on the right side, and she told me she was going to cut it as though I part my hair in the middle. She insisted on layers which I was open to. I left with a very poorly done job, filled with straight blunt cuts and uneven layers. My bangs are not falling correctly because she cut them in the middle. She was talking to the other hair dressers who didnt have clients at the time, and I feel she was unfocused. I do not want to say her name because as an aspiring MUA I know how badly reviews like this can hurt someone. I don't want her to lose business. But I do want to warn the customers of Ulta that this is not the first time I have had a bad cut from their salon. The first time was at a different location but I should have learned my lesson. I would expect someone to put as much passion into their clients as their clients give them coming into the appointment. I didn't get that, and will now have to go to an other salon and pay a full price to fix what I thought was a deal for a great cause. read more

I definitely do not like how every time I go there I'm barely greeted and I barely get help. I can count on one hand how many times I've been helped and I've been there several times. I like how they have cheaper products as well as the skin products I use (Mario Badescu). But they really have a long way to go as far as customer service. I definitely like Sephora's customer service better, at least I am greeted and helped. read more

I honestly would rather shop online. I go into the store to try out products i'm interested in or if they're having a sale and I decide not to order online so i don't have to wait or pay for shipping. Every time I've ever visited I have never been greeted as I walk in. At times I have been asked if I need help,but it's pretty rare. Two of the cashiers that have checked me out have been nice,but the girls walking around usually ignore you. I would say my overall experience hasn't been the greatest, but it hasn't been that bad that I don't plan on returning...the service is OK (tolerable lol). read more

I recommend online-shopping than shopping at Ulta. I went here to buy a new makeup kit, but when I went inside, most of the racks were almost empty. The service is very unprofessional, and the staff would rarely ask if I needed any help. Whenever I would ask one of the worker there if they can help me out with founding something, they would usually ignore me and go back to fixing their hair, makeup, staring at themselves through a mirror, etc. Very disappointed with the service. read more

The two stars because the store is nice but unfortunately the costumer service is horrible. They don't care for their costumer at all. Don't care on making sales. As I go in, nobody greeted me. And on top of that, they don't even help you find what you are looking for. As professional, working in a beauty store, you supposed to help your costumer with what they looking for and what would look nice on them, etc when it comes about make-up! Not even the girl that does make-up knows what to tell you. Everybody (workers) are in their own world, gossiping with each other... What a horrible experience today. Went in no one said hello or welcomed me. Walked around the makeup looking for a brand and special that was going on. End up finding the brand but not my color I need. Go around and find an employee who was stocking items, to ask if they have anymore. I was pointed in the general area of where they had more product. Go and search around till I find the area only to discover they still don't have any. Then I go up to the front and ask the clerk. Who asks me where the item is, after looking herself (told me it was her second day, so really no fault with her), she goes and asks a manager. She comes back and tells me they didn't get any on the truck and if I was interested in another kit. No, I came for tyat one specifically that the company you work for advertised. I asked when they would be coming in and how long the promotion was going for. Ugh, lets just say their responses were less than stellar and from a manager. WILL NEVER GO AGAIN Ok first off the only reason I am give ulta one star is because I would not be able to leave a comment. For the past two times that I have went to ulta I have had horrible experiences, they watch you like a Hawk thinking you are trying to still something. I went there a month ago the lady's where rude and would not help and instead of helping the customers they where to Busy chatting and I was too afraid to walk up to them because they gave me mean snotty looks .One thing I really could not stand was the whole time I was there no one helped but when i was about to leave I was talking to my friend about some makeup that they had at the front that was cheaper not knowing that one of the employees where ease dropping on us, she made it her Business to come up to us saying the only reason that product is cheaper is because it's discontinued. But yesterday really put the icing on the cake and the reason I will never go back, first off the only reason I went there was to buy the urban decay eyeshadow pallet because Sephora did not have it. I went in there as usual they didn't help us but that's nothing new because they always do that, so I went to look at some eye shadow and I could see this employee staring at me for a good 10 seconds and then saying oh do u need anything? I mean come on are you for real do u think I'm that stupid really? They was hoping that I was going to still something, and it was everywhere that I would turn that the same person was watching me, it made me very mad,and very uncomfortable.Let me give you a reason to watch me before you start stalking me around the whole store!!!! Ulta needs some nicer employees who care about there jobs that's why they are there is to help you not make you feel weird and uncomfortable. Ulta is normally a good cosmetic store, but this one leave a lot to be desired in the salon especially. The salon needs educated and experienced hair stylist, not a bunch of apologies. They have you come in for appointments, and the stylist did not come in or the appts. have been cancelled.
