Twisting hair like a towel is damaging, especially for women with long or delicate hair. That's not technique... that's laziness. The bang trim for $35 Cutting bangs only is usually: $10-$15 at most salons Sometimes even free if you're a returning customer Charging $35 is highway robbery with a curling iron. I brought my sister and daughter into Ulta beauty shop for us all to get our hair washed. The beautician a beautiful black lady, but I dont remember her name exactly. Name started with a D, but I dont know if that was the first or last name. She was very rough while washing our hair, didn't do a good job all, it was the roughest treatment I have ever had by a beautician. She then started wringing it out like a towel, twisting it tightly and pulling on it so hard. Then when she cut my sisters bangs, just the BANGS!! she then charged 35.00 for a 'hair cutting fee to her. We will never go back there again. I didn't let her style my hair because I didn't care for the way she styled my sister's hair, it was horrible. This was on Friday the 7th of August. The total bill was 217.00 for 3 haircuts; one for sure was just bangs cut. And 3 washings, and 2 hair styling with a curling iron and blow dryer. Nothing was worth 100.00, much less 217.00. Very disappointed and embarrassed. My sister said her hairstylist in Tucson was going to have a fit when she sees what she allowed to be done to her bangs. Don't get your hair and make up done. Go to a real salon. I was told how ugly I was when I got there... why would I do my make up and hair before going? Going on and on I was blinking my eye but my eye ball was being stabbed over and over. My friend did half my make up and had to give colors. It was an awful experience on my wedding day. I do give it to her, her music was on point. My other friend completely redid my hair and makeup right before my wedding. I wasted my money and time. read more

Had an appointment scheduled for 3 pm at the salon. Once there I notified the stylist I was his 3 pm he was working in other clients. He sat me in a chair while he performed services on the other 2 clients who were present . He quickly got me to the bowl where he washed and condition my hair . After my wash and conditioner I was sat in the chair for a detangle and blow dry . Stylist states my ends needed trimming and I agreed for. Trim . He trim my ends only and the. Proceeded to only curl my hair . Mind you I selected a flat iron with curl but only got my hair curled . After my hair was loosely curled he was done with in about 1 hr. He proceeded to print my ticket that when I went to check out was 131. Mind you I was not expecting this much because flat iron and curl is only 62 and I was thinking a trim would be like 20. So he charged me 62 for flat iron and curl, 47 for a hair cut, and 22 for conditioner . Now I did get conditioner but no treatment it was shortly washed out after application. I had a trim not a haircut . I was basically over charged and my hair was mediocre. I will never return again read more

Had 4 inches cut off of my hair and it was definately scary for me but boy did i like the end result. The girl was so nice we talked and had the awesomest conversations during my service. Recomend only this ulta beauty, they are so generous and kind. And they are always willing to help. read more

Most of the prices here are over priced, JMO, but if you download their app you can be notified of their sales, they also have a membership perks. If you get tired of going to the Big Box stores only to be let down because their cosmetics are in cabinets padlocked up, so you have to hunt down an employee to unlock it, then just skip that frustration and go to Ulta. Most of the time you'll encounter employees who will ignore you, not helpful, and look like they have makeup caked on their faces, but they tend to ignore most customers. Last time we were there, very few of them even knew how to run the register. And just a heads up, if you're in a rush, especially during one of their sales, you'll probably have to stand in line. All in all if it wasn't for being able to find specific pallets, or eyeliner or mascara, I wouldn't go there, I'd probably get it off Amazon. The lack of customer service is a turn off for us. read more

Ulta is pretty good, across the board. It is pretty uniform across the country (well, as far as I know--though I feel like everywhere I go, I've found myself inside one). This location, being similar in so many ways to the one that we have in Augusta, was fine. I went in to pick up a beauty product and, in the process, met a stylist who seemed to have a good disposition. I later called to ask how long the stylist had been cutting hair and where the person was trained, as I was interested in setting up an appointment. I was put on hold for a while, then told I'd receive a call back. I received a call back from a manager, who asked me why I was asking for "personal information" about one of her employees. I told her it's because I'm interested in setting up an appointment. She said she is "not used to people calling and asking all these questions." I repeated that I was only asking where the stylist was trained (or through whom the certificate was issued) and how long the person had been cutting hair. She assured me that the person was licensed, but would not give me the "personal information" of how long the person had been cutting hair or where the person was trained. She finally told me that the stylist had been at the salon for a year, but that was all she was going to tell me. She wanted me to set up an appointment but I did not, as I was really put off by the salon's refusal to release information which is super-standard in the salon world. The haircut was to be $35 which, for the location, isn't that cheap, so I'm surprised the salon was so weird about such a normal question. I'm pretty bummed, because I would have liked to find a local stylist. UPDATE*** Awful. I was tormented by the mystery of this salon that had this person whose identity could not be revealed. It was like I was told not to think of an elephant. So I scheduled an appointment for 3pm on a Thursday. As I'm parking at 2:55pm, I get a call saying that the stylist is behind because the person who booked to appointment didn't realize how long the (single) client ahead of me would take. They ask if I can come in at 3:30. Annoyed, because I'm already there and could have run errands if the stylist had checked the calendar when arriving at 2pm and let me know then but, whatever. I come in at 3:30. Stylist is clearly not ready. I wait 20 minutes, then the stylist beckons me over and asks for another half hour. Ok... I go walk around a little more, come back at 4:30. Still not ready. I am finally in the chair getting my hair cut at 4:50 pm -- I KID YOU NOT. TWO HOURS OF WAITING. I was as nice as I could be about it because, as a general rule I don't like to piss off someone who is about to cut my hair. The hair cut was actually fine for the price. Not thrilled about the way the bangs were done, but it wasn't bad at all. However, they applied NO discount to the hair cut, even after everyone apologized for having me wait two hours and not telling me it'd be so long so that I could go do something else with my life. No coupon for future service, nothing. UPDATE #2*** Still Awful. I had left my large Nalgene on the stylist's table. I didn't realize I'd done it until a few days later, so called and talked to the stylist, who recalled that I'd left it. But rather than calling me or asking the staff to call and let me know, the stylist simply turned it in at the front desk. Now the front desk can't find it, so my Nalgene is gone. Turned a $41 haircut into a $56 haircut that took THREE HOURS. Awesome. Conclusion: Persistently terrible management overshadows acceptable skills of stylist. read more

Definitely go here for hair dye/cuts. Shawn was my stylist and don't let this guy scare you off, he is really profressional with his work and know what is recommended for your hair. He actually makes your hair flow instead of choppy looking. He is actually better than my normal hair stylist (or any Asian hair stylist) that I go to. The price is pretty up there but it's all well worth it in my opinion. I mean, if you want the quality it comes with a price. When I came to the salon, I just dyed my hair red and blonde; so my hair was pretty dry and brittle. I wanted to put more blonde in but Shawn talk me out of it since it would lead to consequences (damaged hair, brittle, weak, etc.) and I decided to just go for a cut and deep renewal conditioning (which he recommended because again, my hair wasn't where it's suppose to be). When he cut my hair, he took all of the noticeable choppy layers and shaped my bangs to where I wanted them to be. This was done with scissors (no razors). Like I said, I recommend Shawn as a stylist. I made an appointment with him in December for another hair dye, so yeah this guy knows his stuff. :D read more

This is the absolute worst Ulta I have been to. Always out of the stuff I need. Went in today saw they were offering a free gift with $30 devacurl purchase. Signs were up in the devacurl section and everything. Go to pay and she doesn't say anything about the free gift just a "have a nice day". Had to ask about the free gift and she informs me they are out of the free gift. If you run out of the free gift maybe you should take the sign down or at the very least let the person know. I wanted to buy these products I can get cheaper somewhere else because you were offering the free gift. The manager took a long time to come and return my items to give me my money back. I loved my Ulta in Florida but this one is just horribly managed. read more

I had the worst experience here. The management was horrible! The manager didn't know ANYTHING about any of the products they have, couldn't even pronounce the name. She didn't give me ANY privacy to look around. Wrongly accusing people of stealing several times. I suggest you go to Sephora in the JcPenney they have more things in stock and they dont judge you for the way you look or just go to CVS this store is such a waste of space. read more

Love the Brow Bar! They are very professional and spend quite some time getting your brows to look great. The people who work there are very knowledgable of their products and give good recommendations for whatever your needs are. They are usually a very clean store. My only complaint is they seem to run out of some items very quickly and it takes them some time to get more products in. All in all, this is my one stop shop for my beauty needs. read more
