I love my stylist, Marian. She is so sweet and knowledgeable. Does an awesome job! I had just moved to the area (Feb) and got a botched haircut and didn't know where to go to get it fixed. I decided to try Ulta Salon services, and I am so glad I got her. She was able to get me in the same day, fix my disaster, and add highlights. Finally, I found time to pamper myself today and initially scheduled for a haircut, but she was able to squeeze in some highlights... and again, I'm just happy so happy with her services. I highly recommend her. She doesn't push or assume what you want, explains every step of the way, and listens to my mindless chatter, lol. I wouldn't even even give this a one star they where horrible me and my friend where booked at the same time and we got there and they told us they could only do one of us at a time. Manger didn't even offer to give us a discount or apologize for the situation we weren't able to get to our event on time due to them being so unprofessional. I would not recommend getting any service done here the lady that did my makeup was very nice and sweet but other than her the manger and everyone else didn't do anything to help. What an incredibly frustrating shopping experience! Testers are in the wrong places, missing or completely fouled. Shelves are not stocked correctly with many items in the wrong place. Inventory selection is awful. They may show multiple colors, but most of them are out of stock. The people managing this store should be completely ashamed of themselves! This location always seems very disorganized and disheveled looking. Never impressed with how the location looks...I'm NEVER asked if I need anything. Displays have always been tired and unsanitary looking( so I never seem to be able to look at new items that have testers) due to the lack of cleanliness. read more

I was looking around trying to find a good concealer, there were 2 employees just gossiping... they saw me walking around and never asked if I needed help. Once they FINALLY decided to end their gossip session, one walked past me without even asking if I needed help ‍. This is why people would much rather shop online. Keep your employees on check and teach them about good customer service. Gossiping should be done after work and not during. If they want to talk bad about the other employees that work there, they should do it on their own time, not during work hours out loud where customers can hear them. The only reason I go there is for the eyebrow station, other than that, I would much rather shop online. read more

I never cut my hair here in Brownsville for a reason ONE the price is ridiculous and they never end up doing a good job. My hair barely grows and it's very thin so I try to do always a simple bob with a couple of small highlights or balayage. I went with Laura from the hair salon and made an appointment. I asked her if I could do a pastel summer color like pink or a peach color and she said it was possible. My hair wasn't dyed or anything I just had a bob. I went from 1pm-6pm just for a red flaming color from top of my head to the bottom when it was just supposed to be just the tips of my hair. I keep asking her r u sure this is how u do it n she keep affirming yes it's gonna look gorgeous. While waiting she was cleaning n taking care of another customer who was just there for 30min and also eating which I don't mind if I would of come out in 2-3hrs at the most but 5 HRS!!! With no other customers it's ridiculous. That dy I left with RED puffy hair looking like a VULPIX according to my family. I was so sad that I didn't even wanna look at my hair or take any pics. I was embarrassed n she knew it came out bad because the she told me to come a WEEK LATER! to fix it. No way I went the next day and told the manager Marlene that had apparently suggested that color "peach" for my hair. When I show up they tell me it's not possible since my hair is dark brown, couldn't they told me this before??? Nope all I wanted was a summer pastel color even if it was the pink but they weren't that professional or knowledgeable enough to figure it out. So the second time I went they put a highlighter and a toner to minimize the bright red on my hair which it turn into a copper at the end that only last for a WK and WASH OFF! I always go to Matamoros for hair coloring and my hair cuts in Dallas n in both places they don't charge me more than $60 since my hair is very thin and short but $120 for a mess not even the color I wanted! Oh boi this is Ridiculous I just don't want more people to go and end up looking like me so I'm writing this review so they can know what could happen if Laura or Marlene the manager put their hands on their hair. They are probably great in the basics like normal blonde highlights but not on summer pastel colors for sure. They did give me a discount which I still thought it was pretty expensive specially for the length and proportion of my hair but it is mainly my fault for going and not knowing who was doing my hair. read more

I walked in and had my 6 year old who needed to use the restroom. There was someone right as I walked in and I had to excuse myself from interrupting her and pulling her attention away from her phone so I could ask where the restroom was. She looked up and right back to her phone and pointed to the back area, "It's back there." I said thank you and I walked to the back and still had to search for it. I came out and wanted make up, tweezers, make up bag, lashes, I really wanted the works. I am not the girliest of girls so I needed some help figuring things out. I came back to the front to ask where their tweezers were. The girl was walking away with her face still buried in her phone. There was a lady and a guy behind the counter. It looked like he was bagging while she rung up the one lady in line so I quickly asked "Excuse me, where are the tweezers?" He said (briefly looking at me), "2nd aisle to last." So there I go again to the back and nothing. There were hair dryers, straighteners, etc. I literally had to go through several aisles before I found the tweezers. By that time I realized I wasn't going to be able to find what I needed and walked out. If you go, be sure to take your own make up guru. I doubt I'll be back. read more

I called this store to inquire about blonde highlights. I spoke in detail with a young girl there and set up an appointment after it felt like she understood what I wanted. After my appointment, I was really upset because I spent almost $200 and couldn't tell I had anything done. I gotten foils or less on the top, and they were toothpick thin. I was so bothered still the next day that I called and talked to the manager, who offered to fix it. I went back in so she could see what she was going to be fixing and set up an appointment with her. She got me closer to what I wanted, and I was happy with her willingness to make me happy, but still didn't have exactly what I wanted. And, months later, I'm really upset with the integrity of my hair, every single time I wash it, it gets so tangled, I have to spend quite a bit of time untangling it. It's very unhealthy now, and I'm not accustomed to my hair being this way. It's frustrating and saddening. I would not recommend this place, at all. It's pretty standard for Brownsville. I'll be going to Austin to get it fixed. read more
