They are totally rude I walked in with my family and was excited because it's Ulta and I had a few things that I specially wanted everything was scattered, I was a tad bit lost I looked at this lady asked for help and she walked extra slow then asked what I asked if they had the James Charles eyeshadow brushes and all she replied was yes I was like ok I was waiting for her to point me in the direction of them but the just sighed with a eye roll so I was just like ok I'll just order online.......... it was unfortunate I didn't catch her name but it looked like she was Latina with really nice makeup!!! To bad the customer service is poor I work in retail and all the customer love me I like to make them feel welcomed! I was nudged over the edge to apply for an Ulta credit card on 7/7/18 by the statement "you will get 500 bonus points if you sign up today". After saying no to the card, the 500 bonus points sold me. I put the purchase on my card and did not see the points on my receipt. I asked about the bonus points and was told I would see them when everything posted through and I received my card. The points were not received and upon following up with Ulta, there never were 500 bonus points for signing up. The points are only available when you spend $500 in the first 90 days. Sadly, the sales associates give misinformation. read more

My daughter, who is a minor, went to Ulta to talk about getting her hair cut and colored. she showed Trisha a picture, and before you know it Trisha was cutting my daughters hair and the colored it Jet black! My daughter was on the phone most of the time and called me after the hair color was on her hair for after 1 hour! My daughter came home that night crying. Her hair was chopped up, burned from the color and jet black!! My daughter hates black hair, it was suppose to be dark brown just like the picture. I called Ulta the next morning and Trish was on vacation for a few days. When I have my daughters eyebrows done I have to sign a release, but not for a chemical process? My daughter is a nice sweet girl and was not about to get upset infront of other people. We got our money back today , but Trish was rude about it. read more

Overall, the store was nice and offers a wide variety of products. My complaint is not with the store or its products, but with the employees. When I went to pay, (I had about 5 items), I asked the girl at the register if I could sample an Ulta brand lip gloss to see the true color. Her response to me was this, (pointing to the container) "That's the color." .....well gee thanks, i couldn't tell that by looking at it. Any female who has every bought makeup whether it be lipstick/lipgloss/eye shadow/etc, knows that the true color of a product is not always what it looks to be through the container. This is the purpose of "Testers." Testers enable a customer to try on the product to see whether or not they like it and to see its true color on their skin. I realize some products do not offer testers. However, I had been trying on all of the others of this exact same product (minus the color) and when I found this specific color realized that the tester was not there. Hence why I asked if they could make one for this particular color. My point is this, I didn't ask for attitude. I didn't ask for sarcasm. I just asked a simple question and figured the employee would be more willing to help. After giving me her initial attitude, she then turned to the employee next to her and they had testers in that product (I already told her they had every color but that one). The other employee responded she didn't think so and that if they did, they'd only make me one if they had more than one of that color left. However, the new employee at least actually went to look and sure enough came back and allowed me to test it and I bought it. imagine that. Also, having never been to an Ulta, I did not have an Ulta card, which I did get during check out. However, I had bought one container of a lotion marked 2/9. I did not think at the time (and this is my bad I know that), that if i bought one it would still be $9. When I got out the door I realized that I paid $9.50 for one bottle when I could have had 2 for $9. I did not realize this at the time I was at the register because I was so frazzled over the employee's comment. my point is that I would have expected her to say "oh hey you know its 2/9 right?" or something to that extent like most employees do when they notice a customer could have more of something for the same or minimal extra amount of money. This occurred with the lipgloss also which was 3 for 8. But again I paid $8 for 1 not thinking it was actually going to be $8 for one. Again, I should have paid attention at check out, but was too occupied with the comments about the lip gloss that I didnt think of it. I will be going back to address this though. This a review is the Brow Bar at this Ulta. I've been going to Benefit Brow Bars all over the US for years with no issues; however, yesterday I went in and the girl completely messed up my eyebrows. The arches are in different places, the brows are different lengths. It could not look any more ridiculous! Stay away unless you want to look like a messed up clown. read more

I randomly scheduled an appointment for highlights one morning and the same day got an appoinment. It was nerve wrecking since I had never been to their salon but it was convinient so I took the gamble. I am very glad I did. Corrine was my hairdresser and also a manager and I felt comfortable and in good hands. She did amazing on helping put into action what I couldnt even describe. I recommend her to anyone especially someone who has had hair nightmares. I now have my go to person. read more

As of 12/20/18, I had just gotten to the store around evening time and my friend and I were casually doing our shopping. I had then ran into a sale stand for Anastasia Beverly Hills beauty products. Sale price was advertised 2 FOR $30. Checkout was honestly the worst because the person who checked me out was a new hire (which I understand) her register wasn't working because of her log in. However I was able to move over one register to be assisted. Knowing there is a sign on card machine that read, "credit card only". I did not want to use my credit card because I wanted to use cash. I thought I can use cash but the cashier used her finger to deliberately tell me it was card only which I had no intention to us. Due to my knowledge I had the interpretation that if you were to buy just one you would get on of the products for $15. ( makes since since $15 and $15 obviously makes $30...) Any who I will not dwell on how simple math is for this concept. I looked at the stand itself and saw no signs on any price discrepancy on having to buy the two to get the sale price of $30, nor did I see any disclaimer on paying full price for just the one itself. Next day later I had then realized that I should of been charged a different price but I didn't think that it was a big deal. Money is money and the holidays just passed. Then this is where I get very disgruntled about this situation, I had then called Ulta to get this all squared away and situated and when the worker answered she had a very unpleasing way of greeting and answering my situation. Her attitude was the WORST and I could you not I had never had any issues shopping at this location. Then I called the 800 number and the gentleman who tried to assist me was clueless as can be as to what I was trying to explain and I gave up, wished him a nice day, and hung up. Moral of this whole mess is that I'm not whining over a couple of bucks but I am greatly disappointed with how I was treated with the duration of this experience. If I were you I would practice on better customer service, answering phones professionally and clearly with a better tone, and to also put disclaimers on sales that are out there so others will not have this experience again. It blows my mind that the managers here are able to speak to their customers the way I've encountered on multiple occasions as of late. Ronnie the prestige manager is so mind blowing rude anytime anyone has a mild complaint or issue. People, including myself spend hundreds of dollars here regularly only to never get a free gift with purchase and be told "first come first serve we're out". This manager gives you attitude, argues with you throws her hands up to stop you mid sentence. She has absolutely no time to even listen before she shuts you down and tells you too bad so sad call customer service. Ulta you need to step it up with your managers because this is ridiculous and unacceptable behavior and lack of customer service. read more

Went to Robin in the salon to have my hair cut and colored last week and she's awesome! I had about 10 inches of my hair cut off to donate to locks of love (which ulta does for free), and had some red lowlights put in. Robin was very knowledgable and picked a great color based on my hair color/skin tone. I loved the way my hair turned out and will definitely be back! read more

I decided to go to Ulta to get my hair done at a reasonable price. My last haircut and color was $200 and I was not impressed at all (at another place). Quinn was my stylist at Ulta and I thought she did a great job after I had a long day and looked like hell. I would recommend her to anyone. I think I walked out of the salon paying $72 for haircut and color for the holiday special. It was ten times better than my last cut. read more

Ulta beauty has the worst customer service.. I go in here quite often and the customer service is the worst. They grab your stuff from you and throw the bag at you. I have never been to an ulta beauty where the customer service is decent. Yesterday I went to return some bottles of shampoo that I bought during a sale but never used. The girl at the register named Jackie was awful. She had an attitude the whole time returning my items. Then I went back and purchased a different shampoo and she continued acted like checking out my items was an inconvenience. Then this morning I checked on the ulta app that there was a sale going on and usually they will let you know if you get a free item or a gift and Jackie didn't tell me. Not sure why her attitude sucks. She could had told me I got another free shampoo/conditioner. They tell me every time when there's a sale. So I assume she ignored it on purpose.. I wouldn't return to this ulta but it's the only bigger beauty store we have in Carson.I'm truly disappointed in the customer service that ulta customers receive. This isn't a first time thing too.. this is every time I come into ulta. I'm tired of the attitude the girls have. read more

I had a wonderful experience at Ulta today. I was in the store looking for products to use while growing out my gray hair. The sales girl suggested I speak to one of their hair specialist....Quinn. I connected with her immediately! She first explained that my roots had very little grey and was more of a light brown. I realized at that point I didn't want it to grow out. Luckily she was able to do my hair right away! She is so knowledgeable and talented. I just knew I could trust her completely. I put myself in her hands and she knew exactly what I needed! I've never had such beautiful colors in my hair. She is amazing. She gave me great advice on products and I knew I would never go to another stylist! Quinn is awesome, she really made my day! My hair is gorgeous! She also brought me over to Julia at the skin care dept. Julia brought out a Clinique mask and put some on my hand, within minutes she washed it off and the results were incredible! I have so many wrinkles but when I applied these products to my skin last night, I already saw a difference this morning! I almost cried! Julia told me that she is 65 and I swear she looks late 30's!!!! I am definitely going back to her also for a make-over! This lady is a pro also and is very educated on skin! I am turning 60 this year and I need all the help I can get. This store has become my home away from home! I love it :) I found all the employees very helpful and pleasant. read more

DO NOT!! I repeat..DO NOT!! Go to this salon!! I went in wanting an ombré/balayage and after 10 hours and 7 processes .. they fried my hair and it was green and blotchy.. and feels like teddy bear fur!! Destiny and the manager Karren "Corey" do not know what they are doing !! And the manager there is sooo rude!! I went in a 10am and didn't leave until 8pm... before I left Corey told me I could walk and not pay and deal with their mess up or pay 184$ that night if I wanted them to fix it the next day...well I felt trapped so I paid ...after consulting real professionals I went in the next day and asked for my money back.. they refunded me but was so rude didn't apologize didn't say a word!! I then went to a real salon and talked to someone who is willing to fix what they have done.. however my hair is so far damaged i have to do treatments to get my hair health first.. so for the next month I will be wearing hats or high buns.. people please don't waste your time or money !! My hair is down to my lower back and I'm just sick about what they have done!! They have to be stopped!! Horrible horrible people!!! read more

Carson City has an Ulta Beauty store, I dont have to drive to Reno to get my Urban, Clinque or fragrance anymore. If you have never been into an Ulta, you will be amazed. The store is large, about 10, 000-sf, they have department store cosmetics, drug store cosmetics and redkin, ojion, purelogy haircare. There is also a salon inside the store, I had my hair done, I paid less the going to spear me, or bella, and got an awesome cut and color. I made a day of it by having a micro-derm too, by thd skin therapist, she was awesome. the sales staff was friendly, answered questions, they even gave me free samples of products for me to try. My experience was a good one. read more

Worst store ever! I went in a to buy a liter of shampoo that was on sale, plus I got a pump for free. The sales girl charged me for the pump and then tried to use my $3.50 coupon off of that. I asked for a refund, which she only gave me the price of the shampoo back. Long story short, I never got my $3 back from the 'free pump'. Not worth going there for the sales. Plus, they can't keep their employees. read more

I have been really happy with the salon and brow bar, Jett and Taylor are great. Its the cashier's. I received an email saying i would receive another email with a coupon for a birthday gift. I never received the second email. I asked the cashier about the gift and she said I would need to call to get it straightened out. I said forget it. I then had a coupon but she wouldn't accept it because my purchase was 2 cents short of the $10 minimum. The cashiers have no ability to make the customer happy or are not willing to try. I will go back for the salon services but not make any other purchases. They don't value me as a customer. read more

I am a regular Ulta customer and have frequented many different locations. This one is the worst I have ever been to. I love the selection of products and the loyalty program, which gives a lot of perks, especially if you get salon services there too. Unfortunately, the customer service and salon services at this location just aren't at the same level of other Ulta stores I've been to. There are salespeople that I see every time I go in that always seem angry. They don't offer help and seem put out if you ask them for advice or even help finding something. I have had great experiences at the salon, but recently two excellent stylists left and I was not happy with my last experience. The customer service and quality of the cut and style I got was worse than Supercuts and more than twice the price. I regret that I have recommended this salon to so many friends because it is going downhill, fast! I really think this store needs some new management or some major corporate intervention because it makes the whole chain look bad. read more

Story summary: went to Ulta for color correction and found a stylist I swear by...Jett. I went to a "prestige" salon in Carson City and was disappointed. The stylist at this salon-I-shall-not-name did everything I asked her not to, but I couldn't tell just how bad since she used a bunch of product to "emphasize my curls" (even though the photos I brought were not curly-type photos). After washing I discovered an horrible cut and even worse color. I was going out of town and I didn't dare trust this person again. I called around and Ulta had an open spot with Jett. I was hesitant, but if a prestige salon could jack me up, then perhaps I should give Ulta a try. Jett came up with a plan. She was honest and educated. She explained in detail what it would take to fix this and why. I have had great hair for a year now, thanks to Jett. I will be moving to Reno soon but I intend to travel to south Carson City to get my hair done with Jett. read more

i'm so impressed with the services provided by ulta, and the talented, competent stylists working at the carson city store. yesterday, i received a brow wax by cherie, and a haircut from robin. both ladies were incredibly friendly, approachable, helpful, and knowledgeable about their products, services, and store. i was pleasantly surprised with cherie's waxing technique. i used to visit salon new image for waxing, which was always a painful experience. i'm not sure how she accomplished it, but having my eyebrows waxed by cherie didn't hurt at all. and she was able to achieve a great, symmetrical shape for me, which other stylists have failed to do in the past. in the salon, robin accepted me as a walk-in for a haircut. i appreciated that she communicated with me through every process...what kind of shampoo she was using on me and why, why she was cutting my hair in a certain way, etc. knowing these things really helped me to better appreciate the finished product, which is a fabulous cut that frames my face well. and my hair looks SO much healthier! after my services, i spent some time browsing the store. i was approached a few times by other employees asking if i needed any assistance. i didn't, but i liked that they were attentive while still giving me space. they didn't hover, but i knew they were near-by if i did need help. the prices on ulta products are pretty standard. you'd see the same prices at sephora or other high end make up retailers because those prices are MSRP. however, i was surprised to learn that their salon services were so reasonable. i know of other salons in carson whose prices are higher for lower quality results. in all, i think ulta is a great place...a mecca for women like me who appreciate one-stop shopping for all beauty needs. employees are great, prices are right-on, and the over all experience was enjoyable. read more

I think this store had a rough start. Am I shocked? Heck, it's a new concept in Carson. High end cosmetics and employees who have no clue. In my recent outings to Ulta that has changed. They seem to have better employees who at least admit they might not know something but go out of their way to find someone who does. I am really writing a review for the salon. I walked in and was able to schedule an appointment for the next day. I had been dyeing my hair at home due to unemployment. I had started a new job and had to face that my hair was in bad shape. My appointment turned out to be with Jett. She was super nice and did a long consultation with me on what it would take to get my color back to a nice blond and how much it would cost up front. She offered a 25% discount that the store was offering. I did not know about the discount so I appreciated that it was offered and I knew the cost upfront. I left with results better than expected and I loved Jett. Very funny, knew what she was doing and had extensive knowledge of all the products that worked for my thinning hair. I left with a discounted service and professional products on clearance prices. I loved that! Thank you, Jett and I can't wait to come back. I even made an appointment with Maria who does skin. Final outcome? I think Ulta is improving with customer service and the salon is well worth the price. read more

I finally had a great salon experience in Carson City. So many salons are in Carson but I finally found a gal who was patient and really knew her stuff. I just hung up from speaking to the salon manager, she listened to my story but overall didn't really care to hear what I had to say... she told me there's absolutely nothing they can really do for me, she said they never give gift cards or refunds, if I would have came in within 7 days of my appointment she would have set me down re colored and cut my hair...... I told her about my dog having cancer and being very sick! I work 6 days a week! I am only off on Mondays, I am paying a pet sitter to be with my dog, when I get off work everyday I rush home to be with her, so spending another 3 hours at a salon that does not follow directions and stole all self confidence from me......... wasn't really at the top of my list! all that she offered was to fix incorrect my hair! she acted as if I was lying about the whole situation just because it's been almost 2 months! the back of the receipt States I have 60 days to get a full refund if I am not satisfied..... she said that's for retail items only it has nothing to do with the salon.... then why did I pay at the cash register up front? why did they print me out a retail receipt instead of a Salon receipt? Here I am a customer who paid! and I'm getting treated like I'm the one who did something wrong..... I can't even believe this is happening frankly this is just not right! read more
