Made appt for eyebrow tinting and did not know that if you late you can not be serviced and need to reschedule. My first time there and traffic as usual in Charleston I was not aware I was 10 minutes late excuse me 11 minutes late according to the provider I tried to explain but was rebuffed and offered to speak with manager I did not need a manager I needed an explanation of the attitude and rigid rules that I knew nothing about. Needless to say a waste of gas driving. Waste of my time and apparently hers too as she had to take a mandated break and could not flex. I could of course reschedule that was an option The point is perhaps they could let customers know that being late regardless of reason means no service . He did my makeup for my wedding and my hair was a complete mess and I felt far from beautiful, but Ryder went above and beyond to not only calm me down but to make me feel beautiful and special on my big day. if you have a chance to get your makeup done by him, don't walk - RUN to him. They have items to meet everyone's budget--from higher end brands to more budget conscious items. The store is organized and well stocked. There's a full service salon in the back. The staff is friendly. I was greeted when I walked it. I didn't notice any associates on the floor besides the three by the register, but I didn't need any assistance. They have a good selection of travel size items by the registers, which are great for testing out a brand before committing to a regular size. This location was closed for several days dealing with a fire extinguisher issue that had covered the entire store. I had an online order I needed to pick up or it would be canceled. I went to the store and that is how I found out about the closure and the issue at hand. I was able to speak with the manager quickly who helped put my order to the side and said to come back Saturday and she would make sure things were all set. I went Saturday and it was absolute chaos! However, she remembered me and she had indeed placed my order to the side. She also quickly jumped in to make sure my discount was corrected since I had purchased an item during the 50% off sale that was now over. That is really outstanding customer service. Lastly, I know they can't man more registers than they have available but the lines are always insane (I'm talking 10-20 deep most days) and it usually takes me longer to check out than it does to shop. read more

My boyfriend and I walked in to get my birthday gift and one of the employees was really rude and adamant about closing at 6. Yes, I know we walked in about 10 minutes before closing, but being at the entrance before we even set foot into the store and telling us they close at six is absurd. We can read the sign. I walked around the whole store multiple times to finally find one very nice associate to help me which was awesome but when I went to check out their was like 6+ store associates gossiping for everyone to hear. I've been in a few times since they opened since it's so much closer to me than my usual location (Summerville). At first I was thrilled because they had a great selection, they were super friendly, and their brow bar attendant was probably the best I've ever dealt with. Since then, the brow bar has been empty and I've noticed they always seem to be out of stock of a lot of items when I go. Still, you can't beat their rewards system. For the most part the staff has been friendly but sometimes they seem to get annoyed when you want to use points or have a return. read more

I am a Diamond Member. Unfortunately, I went into this particular store on March 6th, 2023 and I purchased the GiGi Starter Wax Kit. Today, March 8th, 2023, I opened the kit to use it for the 1st time. However, when I opened it the top was cracked and the seal wasn't on the wax container. This adds up to a few issues and they are as follows: 1.) sanitary issues 2.) they're accepting returns without properly inspecting them and then contacted the store. First, I spoke with a female employee whom I identified herself as an RSM. Second, I was transferred to a supposed General Manager. It was her lack professionalism that was a SHOCK to me and the fact that a customer is bringing this discrepancy to you and your nonchalant behavior is unacceptable. I will absolutely NOT be shopping at this store every again and I may cut ULTA off and go back to Sephora. Once enough patrons are pissed off your store will have no choice but to close, as you're definitely not untouchable.​ read more

The ladies at the Benefit eyebrow station are always helpful and are AMAZING at their jobs. However, 9/10 times I go their employees are chatting with each other or NO WHERE to be found. I went into Ulta Beauty in west Ashley today looking for a good face powder and face cleanser. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and asked how I could be helped. The associate helped me pick out each item, asked questions about my skin type and what I was looking for. She helped me find items that were more adorable, yet just as good as the pricier ones. She was extremely friendly and helpful. The ladies working the cash register were super nice and genuine. They carried a great conversation and also gifted me a free lip gloss since it was my first time ever shopping at Ulta. (I am just now getting into the higher in makeup and face products). I ended up with an 8oz face cleanser, benefit powder, liquid eyeliner, a toner and free lip gloss, all for $62. Honestly, that is cheaper than target, and better products. I would say it was an all around pleasant experience. I will most certainly be returning for all of my hair and face products. read more

I approached two different girls to assist me in deciding on a foundation color and neither one quit the discussion with their co-workers to help. So I left with out buying a thing. I went here to purchase a new straightener. There was a section of CHI straighteners that said $99.95 but when I went to the register, it rang up $119.95. I showed the manager, Jonathan, and he said they didn't have to honor the lower price because "any customer" could have moved them there to get the lower price. I imagine it would be pretty hard to love 10 straighteners to the wrong place to save $20. He was so condescending and said he was "sorry I felt that they should honor the price". Honestly I have been to this location twice. The first time, like most of my other Ulta experiences were crap. I ask for help and got brushed off, ended up buying the wrong product and wasting my money. I had decided if I could help it, I would buy my makeup products anywhere but here. But a few weeks ago I was ready to try a new, more luxurious mascara and after hitting a couple places with no luck I decided to walk across the street to Ulta. I am really glad I did because as soon as I walked close by the Clinique shoppe, Faith greeted me with a smile and asked if she could help. I told her what I was looking for and the very first product she took me to was exactly what I was looking for. I had my two boys with me too and she was so patient and friendly with them- I told her about my past experiences and she was genuinely disappointed over it and gave me a Clinique gift as well as a little product card with her name on it so that if I came back, I would know who to ask for for help. Faith is AWESOME and I appreciate her kindness and knowledge- I don't think I have ever been happier with a mascara! read more
