I had an uncomfortable experience at this location today. From the moment I entered, I was repeatedly followed and asked if I needed help -- over and over -- even after I clearly said I was browsing and looking up items on my phone. What stood out most was that this level of attention was directed only at me. Other customers in the store were left alone to shop, while multiple employees hovered near me and continued questioning me as I moved through different sections. I wasn't disruptive, I wasn't doing anything unusual, and I was there to make a purchase. The experience made me feel singled out and unwelcome, which is not how a customer should feel in a beauty store. I hope management takes this seriously and provides better training on how to assist customers without making them feel uncomfortable or profiled. read more

I went shopping for Black Friday deals and was looking for a specific hair product. Not a single employee acknowledged me until an older woman approached and, without a greeting or any friendly recognition, condescendingly asked if I needed help. She didn't know anything about the product I was looking for, so she asked a coworker if they carried it. The coworker scowled and said no. The older woman then turned back to me, told me they didn't carry the product, and just stared at me as I left the store. NOT A SINGLE EMPLOYEE offered assistance with anything else, nor were any of them friendly or professional. If you're a woman of color, save your time and energy--don't bother here. Cosmetic store that sells a lot of "prestige" and "non-prestige" brands. I like to purchase online and pick-up in the store when at all possible. Most of the time they are well-stocked, however; there have been a few times that I go into the store and they don't have what I am looking for in stock. The staff is usually friendly and available to assist, but the store gets busy at times and you have to fend for yourself. If you join the beauty insider club you get coupons all of the time. Wow. Ulta is a welcome addition to Cranberry Twp. It is so nice to be able to go to one store for all your beauty needs. They carry the regular drug store/department stores make up brands like Revlon and L'Oreal. But they also carry all the good stuff like Stila, Urban Decay, Smashbox and Benefit. And the fragrance counter. Oh la la. They have so many choices and the display is huge. Another thing I love about this store is that they carry Philosophy bath products which I LOVE. And I am going to have to try all their bath salts. They also carry a lot of quality hair products like Living Proof and Alterna, which I used to order online. And you could spend half a day looking at all the different hair styling tools and accessories. This store is so much fun! I also like that they have a weekly ad in the local newspaper that includes coupons. Who doesn't like to save money? And be sure to sign up for The Club At Ulta to receive promos and other discounts. Another nice thing about this store is the salespeople. They have a lot of people available in each department to answer any questions and to help you find what you need. Came in to buy the only foundation primer that works for my sensitive skin. It was out of stock on the shelf, but online it said there were two in stock. An employee named Amy spent almost 20 minutes searching for it even after I assured her that I could order it online. After no success, she apologized for the inconvenience and I got in line to buy some other products. Just before I was about to check out, Amy ran to the front and handed me the primer I was looking for. I'm so grateful, because most employees would have given up after not seeing the product on the shelf. Michael, a temporary skin care brand representative, was also very helpful and friendly. Ulta is the best!! The employees are always friendly, and willing to help when I've needed assistance! I have also been to the salon and the benefit brow bar here, and I have been more than pleased with both. Just some advice, if you are a sucker for an up sell, go in prepared. I went in for a basic trim, and came out with a deep conditioning treatment, and two higher end hair products. Went to cranberry Twp store yesterday to have my eyebrows tinted and waxed. Usually I go to Robinson store. Hey look like a 5 year old did the job. One side not waxed and the other waxed. It looks like she took a crayon and scribbled them on. Stains all over. HORRIBLE! read more

We came here for the grand opening weekend together so it was understandably busy. Still, the place is rather large and it didn't feel too crowded even with a stroller. I'm sure the ladies will love having a place like this in Cranberry. Guys will show up here on the the day before Christmas looking for those last minute gifts. The negative in this visit was the checkout process. The register ran out of receipt paper and our cashier 1) didn't know how to change it and 2) didn't make any effort to. We ended up waiting 5 minutes for a manager to help - all this while a line of people stretched down the store behind us. I'm sure with time the employees will get up to speed. My experience shopping in store has always been fine, but I placed a pickup order today for one small item and came in to pick it up and they were very rude about me coming in to pick it up "before I got an email saying it was ready." I had never picked up before so I wasn't aware of this, and my email confirming my order gave me no details about when to come in and then staff acted as though I was crazy for coming in to pick it up before I got a confirmation email. I'm only giving this a one star BECAUSE it's Ulta and it's usually AN amazing store. However this location will NEVER see my face again. Why you ask? Because they ACCUSED me of shop lifting and I was greeted by 3 police cars AFTER I PAID FOR MY ITEMS. Apparently they claimed I was attempting to steal Eyeshadow FUNNY BECAUSE it's what I PURCHASED. Fortunately for me the officers where understanding and saw that I had paid for all the items in my bag. And the best part is I didn't take my purse in- had yoga pants and a tee shirt on. So where exactly am I trying to stick this apparent stolen merchandise? Needless to say they WILL NOT EVER SEE ME AGAIN. I WAS APPALLED SHOCKED AND TOTALLY mortified! I was really excited when the store opened. For the most part everyone is super nice. I recently stopped for suggestions for tattoo cover up. "We have this" was the answer I received and I was sent on my way. Days later I took my venture to the 'Other Guy' at the mall... Totally different and better experience. I was shown options and how to apply and she even demonstrated how to apply. I ended up spending more money than anticipated and I got what I needed. Sephora is sooo much better of a store for so many reasons... Since I live only 2 minutes away, I have gone on multiple occasions now. The staff ARE NEVER HELPFUL... or friendly, actually. The last time I went I was looking for a dark spot corrector, so the girl literally showed me ONE option that cost $65, and said that was really my only option. Oh? Ok? Thanks, but this huge store has only one thing to help my issues with a $$$ price tag? Find that hard to believe.. Tonight I went with my sister, and we were looking for an eye cream for her and yes, I understand it was 8:30 and they close at 9, but there was literally NO ONE to be found to assist us. Like zero! I love Ulta!! I have shopped here several times since this location opened in the spring. In general, I like Ulta because there is a great balance of higher-end beauty products sold at competitors like Sephora and cheaper items that could be found at your local Target. I wear primarily Urban Decay and Neutrogena products, so I love buying these two very different brands in one store. While shopping today (with my magical, no-exclusions, 20% off coupon), I actually experienced the best customer service that I've experienced at any Ulta. A nice associate approached me in the prestige cosmetics section, and my cashier (a manager) kindly let me use a 2nd coupon for my purchase. I'll be back! read more

I had been into the store shortly after Christmas. The woman who cashed me out had an awesome hair color that I complimented. She said that they have a salon in the back and gave me their card. Although I can't get color right now because I'm pregnant I wanted To check out the salon so called to schedule a hair cut appointment for my daughter. The woman who answered was Blake. I asked if they worked with any foundations to donate hair. She said they did not but if I brought in the information they would follow the directions and give it to me to send out. So I scheduled an appointment for 3:15p that day. She began asking me the typical questions. Have you been here before? I said no the appointment is actually for my daughter, she's three and this will be her first haircut. To which she responded by agitatedly huffing into the phone. I was a little stunned but finished scheduling the appointment. When I hung up I realized how unprofessional and rude that was. My mom is a cancer survivor and we were donating my daughters hair to honor her. We were both excited to do it and have a mini girls day. But apparently due to my daughters age it was obviously a burden to the stylist. I didn't want my daughters first haircut experience to be with someone who can't even stand for her to sit in her chair so I called back and canceled. I didn't even make into the salon to have a negative experience and I probably never will after that phone call. I ended up making an appointment with Above All Salon who treated my daughter respectfully and lovingly and did a wonderful job. My daughter sat perfectly still and was so proud of herself and happy with her new hairdo. read more

My experience at this Ulta today was really unfortunate. I was in search of a foundation to match my skin for when I have spray tans (which is often). An employee came up to me to ask if I needed a match. I told her my situation - how my skin is normally fair, but when I have a fake tan I am a pretty medium shade of tan. All of a sudden she was annoyed and said came off as very cold. She basically said how it would be hard to match me for that since I was not tan at the moment. I agreed and could not understand why her attitude changed, just because I responded to her question of asking if I wanted to be matched to a foundation. She insisted to match me anyway and rushed in the process. She used her fingers to apply it, but that wasn't working well so she had to grab a brush to finish the rest. Basically, she just seemed insincere in her process of "helping" me. She made me feel bad for tanning sometimes and acted annoyed the whole time even though she was the one to offer me help. read more

i wouldn't even give them one star if no stars was an option. my daughter who is blonde, with layered long hair went in for highlights and a trim, no big deal, she has had it done a dozen times or more. i get a hysterical call from her the next day saying her hair was ruined, she now a blunt shoulder length bob and her hair was orange, green and spots of brown. she said she was in the chair for nine hours and they charged her 180 dollars to destroy her hair. I thought she had to be exaggerating so I went to see her and was horrified. If anything it was worse than she described. I was absolutely livid. They actually charged her after all that... nine hours in a chair??? I told her I was going to go get her money back pronto. I walked in and the manager of the stylist was giving a cut and I told him I needed to talk to him NOW. I relayed the situation and he refunded the money, without question, which was good, BUT... no one noticed my crying kid in that chair all day?? How do you turn a blonde girls hair four different colors and have the nerve to charge her? This was over a year ago and I am still mad. I will get my cosmetics at Macy's thanks. read more
