This review is solely on my haircut experience with Lyn. Not so much the store as everything seemed to be low inventory, but anyway I wasn't there to shop. I have been anxiously hoping to find a place/person to trust with my hair since my lady is over an hour drive. I hadn't cut my hair for at least two years and had grown out pretty long. Unfortunately since Covid I have been losing a lot of hair and my hair is also thinning. With that being said I wanted to get a cut to get rid of the bottom thinner tips and also touch up my long layers and some framing to my face. She was helpful, encouraging and did a great job. If I could, I would give this Ulta (specifically Lyn the hairstylist for this particular haircut) 0 stars for ruining my hair a few days before my anniversary. I went in and asked her to give me long layers, considering my medium length hair. I made it clear that I wanted my shortest layer to be BELOW my chin, and I even pointed. After leaving, I noticed at a red light that my hair kept hitting my face by my cheek on the right side, and decided to pull back my longer layers and compare and they were just SO SO bad. I wish I would have asked to see my hair dried after the cut with no blowout to see how it looked when I was there at the salon. My cut was uber uneven and I was so disappointed and bummed out - I chose her bc of the amazing Yelp reviews. I get people have hiccups, but I also went with the longer layers because how unforgiving straight hair is. Ultimately, I decided to go elsewhere to have it fixed, and the 2 stylists even told me "girl they effed your hair up" - so now I need to grow it out for a few months. No shade to her livelihood, cause damn dude we all mess up. My hope is moving forward, please say something don't just let people leave your elite chair with a tore up do. read more

Stopped in hoping to find eye shadow shades sold individually. Found it super odd that the girl I asked did not immediately reply that they have plenty of options (which I later discovered on my own) when I found the M.A.C. section, etc. She made it seem like they didn't and then almost didn't seem to know what I meant when I asked if they then had shadow pens. I think she just wanted to take me to talk to a rep who was there with some expensive Korean brand, but they were nowhere to be found. There were so many single eye shadow options and affordable 6-palette packs like Morphe which was just what I was looking for for $16. The mood in this store was pretty gloom. Interaction at the checkout counter was also meh. I appreciated they had 3 cashiers though. If I have the option I'd stop somewhere else, but if convenient I'd run in and out of this one for what I need. I will say that they were pretty stocked. Parking: ample spots available in a private parking center lot. Spaces are normal size, but you can find a solo spot away if you need one. read more

I went to Ulta to see Lyn and asked Lyn for a Wolf cut. This is a really drastic cut and I recommend it for anyone crazy like myself. I have a pic and she matched it exactly. Lyn warned me that after she cuts it, it won't feel like I have much hair left. She was right but I love the cut so much ! If you choose to do a wolf cut, you have to have a lot of hair so you can still have lots of hair after the cut. It's a shaggy look which is not too professional in my opinion which is the reason why I love it. I feel like a rock star half wolf. I came here twice and both of those times the associate messed up my order. I didn't get her name but she was supposed to update my contact info but it was never updated so I had to go to a different location to have it updated. Then when I came a second time, she accidentally input the wrong order and got it shipped to my house. So now I have to go to the post office to return it. Then on my birthday, I wasn't able to login to my account and it took around 1.5 hours to get someone to help me with the account. I'm not sure if it's just this location or if all of Ulta is like this. It's pretty disappointing and a waste of my time going back to the store to return things. Amazing salon! In a sea of Ultas where not much sets them apart, this one impressed me. This was 100% due to my experience at the salon. I have gotten my hair blown out/styled on many occasions at various Ultas around the country, and most places get the job done as expected. In one place an older woman said she could not achieve what I was asking for. But not here! When I explained I wanted a round brush blow out, the gal doing my hair admitted she wasn't great at that, but rather than us both be unhappy she offered to just blow-dry like normal and then use a flat-iron to achieve that effortless loose wave style I was looking for. She did exactly that in the alloted time but only charged me for the blowout. Now that is all-star service. My kiddo and I had appts. My kid had a blow out by MISSY and she was so gentle with my tender headed kid! She took her time coming it out and blowing it out. I walked into this beauty store expecting customer service and left feeling like I was in a surveillance video. Not one person greeted me. Instead, I was followed around like I was doing something wrong. Update: if I could give zero stars I would. I have now gone back and forth multiple times with this store and continue to receive the same generic response: "after verifying with our store team." They are claiming my order was ID verified at pickup... which is impossible, as I was out of town at the time. No one has reviewed camera footage. No real investigation has been done. They are simply repeating the same statement and dismissing the facts. Let me be very clear: -I did not pick up this order -My ID was never verified -I was not even in the county when this supposedly occurred -I do not have the products I have proof of my location, yet I am still being treated as if I'm lying. I have never had to fight this hard for a refund, nor have I ever felt the need to leave a review like this. At best, this store is failing to follow its own ID verification procedures. I booked a make up service for the first time at ulta for $75 and the girl (will not name her bc I believe with some guidance & support she can grow). She was really nice BUT her technique was the same as mine and if I'm going to spend money and an hour of my time - I want an elevated and more full coverage look. The first 30 minutes of service I was only offered to look at the full length mirror but once she gave me the small close up mirror to check my lashes I knew that wasn't the look I wasn't going for. It wasn't bad but it wasn't worth $75. Before she put setting spray I asked her if I could go check out some make up bc I did not know how to express myself although I had already mentioned a couple things I wanted changes but she had a hair consultation that she needed to take. I saw Brittany on the sales floor and she had full coverage makeup that I really liked and wanted something similar so asked her if she could add to my make up. She did exactly what I wanted and she made the cost worth it. She was really nice and completed the look in less than 15 mins. I walked out super happy bc this is the look I had originally wanted. I did not see her as an option for make overs but I hope she can be on them moving forward bc I would like to book her and tip her. read more

I thought today would be the perfect day for self care so I came to this location to look for a nice birthday fragrance. I'm almost ashamed I have a gift card because in my opinion, the employees here were not a true representation of the company. Not ONE associate asked if I needed help. Only one lady greeted me upon arrival. The rest of the staff did not speak. It was almost as if I wasn't there. The vibe was as though no one wanted to be at work. Yes, I arrived upon opening. But note to the staff: if you don't prefer morning shifts, don't come to work. The energy was so off and the vibe was very off putting. This was the last thing I wanted to experience on my special day. I was so overwhelmed smelling through fragrances, and although I wanted help, I shouldn't have had to ask. I am the customer. I couldn't take it anymore so I decided to leave and guess what? NO ONE greeted me on my way out or even asked if I found everything I needed.
