I had the best experience at the Ulta specifically because of an employee named Mario. I stopped in looking for travel size skincare and realized I also had $10 off of $50 coupon to use. Of course my subtotal was right at $49 and some change. Mario searched high and low to help me find a $2 product that I would actually want. As in, he checked in the back of the store, in different sections, with his colleagues, and more. I was in shock. I've been in this scenario before and usually the employee will say something like "Do you want to go choose something else?" but never actually aid you in that quest. He was Josh so delightfully pleasant and helpful. Five stars for him for sure. read more

I've been a loyal Ulta customer for years and have visited several locations throughout Chicago, Dekalb, McHenry County, and even Indiana. I regularly book makeup appointments for special occasions and usually spend $100-$150 between services, tips, and product purchases. Unfortunately, my recent experience at the Evergreen Park Ulta was so poor that I feel compelled to share it. I arrived early for my makeup appointment, but the artist started late. When she asked about the lashes I brought (the same style I always purchase from Ulta), she immediately demanded a receipt -- something I've never been asked for before. I explained I understood I'd still pay the application fee, as I always do, but she insisted on confirming the purchase with her manager. Their system couldn't locate my purchase, even after I offered to let them check the same card I've always used. I then called Ulta's 800 number, and although the first representative couldn't find the order, I eventually located an email receipt proving that I did purchase the lashes -- online, shipped directly to my home. Even after showing proof, the artist offered no apology and simply said, "We good?" She then rushed through my makeup application, insisted on using only Fenty foundation despite my explaining that past artists used better-matching options, and applied the lashes incorrectly by leaving pre-applied glue on them -- something I specifically told her have been removed in the past. Which she then had to remove after application and reapply as I had instructed her. When the service ended, she didn't offer product recommendations as usual and hurried off to her next client. At checkout, the cashier asked about a tip, but after being wrongly accused of lying about a $10 pair of lashes, I declined. This experience left me feeling disrespected and unappreciated as a long-time Ulta client. I strongly recommend avoiding the Evergreen Park location. The staff are poorly trained in both customer service and professionalism. read more

Always good to do a bit of research and comparison shopping. Sometimes, the price of the lipstick is exactly the same at other stores. But, sometimes you get lucky and get 1.50 off. I'll take it! It was time to re-stock my two favorite colors. I left with three because when you turn in six empty containers, you can get a FREE one. Went in to purchase items, representative Roberto was rude at check out. I asked for assistance to look for a coupon and he refused to help. I'm a diamond member and this isn't my usual store but the Ulta I always go to on Pulaski promenade ALWAYS assists me. Even if I don't qualify they will at least acknowledge and help me look for the coupon. When his colleague said something to him over the ear piece assuming about me, he answered in front of me "just a customer at register looking for a coupon" and GIGGLED. I asked for his name because yes, I'm going to escalate this. I work for customer service 12 years and this is not okay. I said thank you have a nice day and he DIDNT say anything back to me. I was so upset but didn't say anything to him, so I went back 3 min later and return all of it. He then changed his tone of voice to nice and didn't ask me the reason for return . So I proceeded to tell him the reason why. I politely said I'm returning all of this because of your service. You don't give attitude to customers and never the less giggle in front of their face. I escalated this to corporate and I understand maybe to him is "meaningless" but it's not. Customer service says it, you service customers. Now if you don't like your job that's a whole different problem. Didn't need to give that attitude. I would hate for an elderly or my mom to go there and get this service. read more

Went for a makeup lesson appt. Took more than 20 minutes to be acknowledged. Turns out the person my appt was with was doing a complicated hairstyle with a lot left to go. The employee was nice enough,but she was very definitely rushing me so she could get back to her hairstyle. Rather than full makeup. She only showed me one brand of tinted moisturizer, which they didn't even have in stock, and concealer. I was not offered anything else, even when I asked. I could have easily gotten color matched for these 2 products at a department store counter for free. My current brand has been discontinued and I wanted a fresher look. She displayed patience and took the time to attentively listen to my questions regarding all of the products I purchased. She went above and beyond for me by checking the back inventory for Revolution Banana finishing powder. She assisted with my questions on press on nails too. If I could give them zero stars, I would. I do not typically review services like this ever but this needs to be said so that others are aware and don't waste their money.I had long hair and it was time for a cut,so I went to the back where they cut hair. I've never been here before and now I know why. I asked for waterfall bangs with a butterfly cut. Was that achieved..? NO MA'AM. It transformed into blunt hideous bangs and an all around uneven cut that I am embarrassed to be seen with my hair down and sayonara to the hair I'd been growing for years. The stylist told me after she cut my hair completely uneven and blunt in all the wrong places. When she realized she'd cut inches off unevenly and nothing was symmetrical its looks like I got my hair done T the dumpster of the back of dollar tree she says---- "it'll grow back, don't worry". ARE YOU MF KIDDING ME?!? My hair is in shambles and I paid $57 dollar for the service, just to go somewhere else and get it redone and pay again. Don't go here! The worst! Today I came in as an authorized user without the physical card. I showed my I.D. and then the girl at the register said she had to get a manager because I'm not the cardholder. I told her I was an authorized user. The manager said I couldn't use the card because I am not the account holder. Another manager was talking about my situation to another associate in front of a customer. I interject to say can't they just call and verify I am an authorized user. The manager says I am just gonna leave it up to my manager over me. Ok. Then WHY are you discussing the situation lol??? And so other customers can hear you ? Very unprofessional! I don't work at Ulta so how would I know the policies ? How would I know that an authorized user can only use a physical card ? Sounds sketchy to me. They legit treated me like I was a scammer! Now let's get into the store's appearance! It was nasty. I have never ever seen Ulta look like this. It looked like the store had been ransacked. A lot of products missing and not in order. Messy appearance. No tissue or Q tips. I did not visit the prestige section. This store needs better employees. They are very rude. I had called to speak to the hiring manager was on hold for 25 minutes. I decided to hang up and call back 15 minutes later. One of the other employees answered i ask to speak to hiring manager she asked me why in a rude tone. As i felt like it was common sense to know as why i was calling but i answered nicely and told her why. Then i finally got a hold of the hiring manager she answered the phone very rudely, i told her my name and why i was calling in a polite tone. She asked which position i applied for before i could even answer she quickly hanged up on me. I don't even want to get a job at this store. I came in today looking for a setting powder. I walked in and was not greeted. I looked around for help from an employee, it seems like there's only one person working the floor which was a young man who was eager to help who he could because obviously he's one person. Other than that I saw several other employees including one young lady who was more entertained by using her phone on the floor instead of helping customers. Mind you it's not even busy at the time I walked in. I came to the register to ask for help and the polite young lady called over another coworker to help find the item I needed but in the end was basically ignored. This is a review of my Benefit Bar experience only. I had an appointment with Vanessa. I was greeted by her and seen at my appointment time for brow tinting, wax lip and chin plus eyebrow tweezers. Vanessa clearly described the process as brow tinting was new to me. She gradually built the tint until it was the "right color" for my brow, complexion , hair color and that it looked right. No pain with waxing. Absolutely excellent service. Highly recommend Van'essa. Value was good and no hard sell to buy products. read more

I was looking around for someone to assist me with my return and a new purchase. I seen to employees standing and talking and then I seen Rhonda at the register waiting on customers. I waited in line and went to her specifically to ask if she could assist me. She replied "Of course!" with such enthusiasm. Let me just say Rhonda changed my foundation routine. I'm so upset that I have to do this review, but unfortunately I have to be heard. I used to come to this benefit brow bar consistently but because it's not the closest, sometimes I settle for getting my eyebrows done at my nail salon. Haven't gotten my eyebrows done for a few months because I did want them to grow in so I can come in for the brow mapping. I have always loved how I got them done by a previous employee (she is gone now). Anyway, long story short, the girl who did my eyebrows was sweet and friendly (major plus) but I believe because she was consistently distracted by several customers, she left my eyebrow with a bald spot in it. I don't want to name her because truthfully maybe it was just the distractions but either way, I have a wedding tonight and an eyebrow with a space in it. Hopefully I can fill in and fix it but I don't think I'll be coming to this brow bar anymore read more

This is for ear piercing: went to this location and they made a mistake with my appt. We had to wait an hour for the person to arrive. my daughter was pierced twice in one ear because she made a mistake the first time. She was a nice girl but will go to to another ear piercing place next time. Would not recommend this place for this service. read more

This altar is part of an expansion right behind Evergreen Plaza Mall they have in Spanish it in such a way I am happy everytime I drive there a way to see what will be popping up now they have Kanes chicken tenders that have a new Potbelly's they have a new Carson's they have that replaced the old one a DSW and TJ Maxx is awesome I am not a makeup kind of sore and I don't like the look of being overly made-up just subtle upgrade to my minimum makeup regimen I was here looking for some moisturizer the use that carried of I can't find dove in the moisturizer form I looked and look there are several customer service reps available and free and saw me looking intensely but didn't offer their Assistance or to help me or not even a hello when I stepped inside that building so customer service definitely lacks at this location But this altar is really nice to really looks like they have plans on having a beauty shop in there or they're going to do some hair and possibly some spa services or manicuring a lot of stuff was still wrapped up and but what I could see was salon chairs and stations set up for customers in a waiting area they have Mac at this location as well everything is pretty much regular price I saw a few items that said they were on clearance but it was nothing that I needed at the time when she showed me the Clinique bottle it was less than a half an ounce and it was $13 so I opted not for that either read more

The employees don't welcome you in. I literally stood there waiting for the younger (not sure how they identify) to address me. Looked me in my face and kept playing in make up. It was one black girl who seemed helpful but she was busy. (Pink sweater) the young Latina chick acted as if asking a question about the Dior section was an inconvenience. Honestly if you're not a people person don't work in customer service. You alls store isn't even good enough to have a dior section or a good selection of perfume so I'm not understanding where the pompous attitude comes from, coming from someone who works with people daily. Signed up online for a curling or flat iron and was charged for two services by Sylvia . She charged me for a blowout and a curling iron service when my hair was not even washed by her. My hair was a little damp , and hair associate used hair dryer for 5 minutes or less so I can understand if she charged me for a blowout instead of a curling iron fee, but to get charged for both services when a blowouts includes thermal heating. Sylvia was nice, but I don't appreciate her dishonesty and not telling me she was going to charge me for a blowout and a curling iron service totaling $72. I felt I was discriminated. I'm a loyal Ulta client and usually go to the Countryside or Pulaski location and I've never had any issues there. I decided giving this one a try and totally felt discriminated because I also got a brow tint done prior to my appointment and had already paid, but the employees there were insinuating that I didn't pay for my brows and even asked for my receipt, which I gladly provided. I even left a cash tip for the brow girl, whom was the only employee that treated me with respect. I will never be coming here again as this was a terrible experience and the manager , Balana, should've done the right thing and charged me for a blowout only instead of arguing with me. I also left Sylvia a cash tip before I realized she was dishonest. I do admit she did a great job with the curling iron, but working with clients myself, I know the importance of being upfront and honest and she wasn't honest nor did she apologize. read more

When I first found out that they were building an Ulta by my house I was extremely excited because the closest one to me is 40 minutes away but every time I walk into this Ulta the employees are on their phone or talking to each other instead of greeting the customers. I don't need my hand held but saying Hi, or asking if I need any help is important especially to a customer that enjoys makeup! The only time I'm greeted is when I check out. Discrimination at its finest! Second time shopping in this location, both with similar experiences. Not sure if they don't get many Hispanic shoppers but these situations aren't really helping with sales. Security guard made it extremely obvious I was being watched, making me uncomfortable throughout the whole visit. I was not offered any help from store associates which should be the best asset protection practice. During checkout the cashiers were friendly and seemed to care about the rest of the customers experience, when it was my turn however I felt unwelcome. They offered no ordering assistance for an item on line at Ulta.com that they did not think was in their store. This was my first time going to Ulta Beauty and I was super excited to go here! He tagged along with me and of course he was overwhelmed like most men (not knowing what's going on). I came here for one particular item because I heard so many good things about it, and that was my mission: to go in and come out - so, I didn't get the chance to browse much. I did see that they carried Mac, BH Cosmetics, their own brand of course, Tarte etc. The customer service here (so far) was exceptional when I asked for help, which was a great thing considering it's the end of the day. The ambiance is nice and vibrant. The large signs makes it easy to find different makeup brands. I'm definitely considering another visit soon (I'm not sure about him lol). read more
