I frequently shop Ulta in central Florida, but shopped in this store when I returned to my childhood home for a funeral. Kelly was amazing! She helped me find the frizz-fighting products I needed and guided me away from products that would be too heavy for my curls. I love Ulta in general, but was recently blown away by how amazing their customer service is. Not one, but two employees took their time helping me locate things, pointing out things that suit my taste, and just generally being personable. I HOPE that I'm getting their names right - Holly and Kelly - were outstanding. I can't say enough positive things about this location and these two caring workers. Covid has turned retail cosmetic sales upside down, and they are not only rolling with it, but helping customers do the same. :) read more

I am not your typical Ulta customer.. I don't generally do a whole lot with my appearance and when i go in Ulta I'm usually crazy overwhelmed by their huge selection. My first trip to Ulta was because I was going to a wedding and really wanted to WOW some friends who i hadn't seen in quite some time, Not to mention I needed a confidence boost so i booked a blowout and style w/Holly and Make application w/ Emily. They both worked on me at the same time and made me feel like we had been girlfriends forever.. They really listened to what I wanted and if I was unsure educated me so I could make the right decision. Not only did I have SO MUCH FUN with them I could not believe what GREAT work they did. They did such a good job that I have already made Holly my regular hairstylist ( I went back 2 weeks later and got a MAJOR cut- AGAIN fabulous work) and I am making an appointment w/Emily for Make up application LESSONS for myself. I cannot recommend these 2 enough!! Now for the salon, store service and associates: The salon and store were both extremely CLEAN.. hairstylists were consistently cleaning up and sanitizing in the salon. The salon has a manager (I believe Paula is her name) who is just darling. Very sweet and caring.. genuine seems to care about Customer Service. The store associates also throughout the entire store were consistent about asking if I needed help. I was never left to roam. They times i did have questions they were honest and helpful about the products and their own experiences. Overall I have to give this store a 5/5 for their stellar staff, clean facilities and customer service. read more

They stated they would not get that brand in anymore but did not ask if they could help me with anything else. Poor poor customer service. I go here to get my hair and eyebrows done, and then get pulled into buying products (my own doing, promise! How can you not buy stuff here?!?). I love the staff who work in the salon. I've gotten to talk to all of them, hear their stories. Nicholas in particular is incredibly knowledgeable in the field and was able to suggest a perfect product for my hair to keep me from heat-damaging my hair so much. For years I had skin acne problems and when I went to Ulta I got to talking with an associate who suggested Juice Beauty (LOVE IT!). I never used skincare products like serums, moisturizers, etc. and the woman was very patient in talking me through how all the products works, and so on. On top of that--Skinfood brand products. OMG. YES. The strawberry sugar scrub mask is my favorite product so far, but I've been testing out some of their others like the coconut and watermelon masks and the clay mask with the 5 complexes in it. So you're in need of beauty products, but you're not sure if you're a top shelf or a "'eh - for 99 cents, I'll deal with the lead poisoning" shelf kinda gal - have no fear - Ulta is there to help. You'll be left to freely roam the aisles without fear of pushy salespeople or anyone asking if they can help you, which is refreshing, cause when I'm looking for a skincare product that I'm unfamiliar with, I like to just guess which one won't end up in me having to get skin grafts rather than have someone knowledgeable point me towards the right product for my skin type. Since I like a good challenge, I normally head for the Bare Escentuals jars which are sealed shut by a .2" thick security sticker which is attached by whatever the glue equivalent of Adamantium is. I also like that they're never fully stocked so I can try new shades each time and try to convince my friends that I'm actually of a different ethnicity. After you've made your beauty choices and take your customer appreciation coupon to the register, you'll realize that you haven't purchased any of the 5 items in the store that you can use the coupon on, but as a way of saying "We're sorry for the inconvenience," they'll offer you a subscription to InStyle magazine which they can conveniently bill to your house! If you're one of those hoity-toity socialites that appreciates attentive sales staff that check their attitudes at the door and products you can actually open when you get home, then maybe you should just take your privileged ass to Sephora in Colerain. read more

Enter Ulta and solve all your problems with Bare Minerals, Two-Faced, Physicians Formula, Lorac, Urban Decay, Vera Wang, Redskin and more. They have also have a killer styling tool section and a fully stocked sale aisle. A salon sits in the back, which I've never tried and doesn't look pretty busy, but the prices are probably low. If you're intimidated by Sephora this is a good alternative. There's not as much sparkly packaging to distract you (ADD much?) and it's less crowded. read more

I had my hair cut here a couple of months ago and I've been debating posting a review because I'm not one to complain and act like a Karen but I'm still just as upset and furious as i was the day i came in. Now the woman who did my hair did a wonderful job, it turned out just how i wanted so that's why i will not be naming her, but she made me feel horrible the whole time i was in her chair. First of all, i do my own color at home so i know its not perfect and especially the last time i had an inexperienced friend do it so it looked a little rough and i was aware of how it looked, i look at it every day. My stylist repeatedly pointed out how uneven it was and pointed out every single hot spot. I know she was trying to sell me a color correction but insulting my hair is not how to do it. If i wanted a color correction i would've booked one but i was there for just a cut. The worst part was upon finding out i was a dog groomer she went on a rant basically accusing groomers of abusing the dogs entrusted to their care. I almost got up and walked out mid shampoo. In my profession i don't shame owners for cutting their dog's hair at home or insult what they do for a living. I had a long day at work and was just looking forward to getting a nice scalp massage and my dead ends cut off and it turned into the worst salon experience of my life. read more

I was a bit surprised about all the negative reviews, but I see most of them are at least a year old. So perhaps some improvements have been made by management. Every time I've been in the store is stocked pretty well. I have never had an issue of not finding what I came in for. As for the employees... I have never had a problem with them either. I used to love this location. It's close to my home and convenient to other shopping destinations. I'm not sure what has happened in the last couple of years, but the staff and the stock are non-existent. I went in on a Sunday morning right when they opened (and when the new flyer hit) to take advantage of an advertised special on my shampoo and conditioner. I went to the shelf where they typically are and there was one bottle of shampoo. I thought maybe they moved them to another spot since they were on special, so I asked the lady working at the counter. I was told that they "didn't get their shipment in." I asked if she could call another location. Why did I do that? She huffed and puffed like it was such an inconvenience to actually do her job. She called Colerain and...surprise!!! They had plenty. I don't frequent this location as much anymore. They never have my favorites in stock. I'm always told to "order it online " by the staff. I'm sorry but I'm here in store because I want it now, I don't want to wait 5 days and pay shipping to boot. read more

I can't say I'm a huge fan of this store. I love great cosmetics, and their selection is definitely there. However, they're always out of popular items and they will stay out of them, and sometimes only get one initial shipment of something limited and never have it again. The staff is always there to help you but I seriously question if they really care to help you find something to build a sale or if they're just always making sure you're not stealing it just doesn't come off as helpful as it does just we have to check on you every few minutes. If that makes sense, just doesn't seem like genuine care to assist. read more

Oh boy. This place. They have the high end stuff. They have the drug-store brands. Except nothing is ever in stock, no one knows what they are talking about, and the drug-store brands will cost you more than say, Wal-mart. I went into Ulta once and some poor girl asked if I needed any help. I said "I'm just looking for a new foundation. I need something that's good for photos -- no spf and no mineral makeup." She led me to the bare minerals display. REALLY? I said that I needed a makeup primer and asked if they had a cheaper, drug store brand I could purchase. She held up a bare minerals primer that cost $23 or something like that. That's not cheap. I've been into this location a few more times since then - mostly to use the $3.50 off coupon I get in the mail all the time. The shelves are almost always empty. They are out of everything and the place is usually dead. I can see why. They always send me email discounts but those never cover any of the things I want/need to buy. It's frustrating. I'll stick to buying my drug-store brands at Wal-mart and Target and if I need high-end stuff, I'll find a Sephora. read more

Had a bad experience yesterday after purchasing some perfume from the Ulta on Princeton Rd in Hamilton. Never thought it would happen with this store after hearing about how they try to resale items that has been used. So I get home that evening after buying this perfume and to my surprise when I opened the box, it was half used looking like it was a tester and they just put it up for resale. The following morning I went right back up to the store and told the cashier I don't know what is going on, but this looks like it's been used and placed back on the shelf to sell. She was like I don't know how that could happen? Like really, it's already been in the media how they resale returned products. She was like you can go and get another one if you would like? I said, that was the last one. So she said I'll refund your money back to you. read more

This is the only store that sells my makeup and shampoo. And of course they always out of it. Some tell me shipments come in Thursday, some say Friday.. whatever day it is...Ive tried both days and hey its still not there or still in boxes they say. This happens a lot. On top of that, employees dont care about your needs..they just want to sell you something else 3 times as much as the product you want. They dont want to help find your product and sometimes they have no clue what you're talking about. They just stand around and talk to each other ignoring you are there. Their service is slow up front and they are willing to put their friends over you.. yes this happened to me after i waited 20 minutes in line. The good thing is you can save money on generics, But ONLY if you use the coupons. Not sure if its worth the agony though so i just go somewhere else that actually has my stuff and i dont have to wait in line for 20 minutes. read more

It seems like nobody ever works in their salon. I have tried for three days now to schedule an appointment for a haircut. I have called at all different times during their normal business hours and the phone just rings and rings. I have been told in the past that they don't honor walk in's.
