I booked a blowout service for my birthday last week- and my hair was past the middle of my back. When I was in the chair my stylist noted that I didn't have any layers in my hair and that if I did it would make my blowout look better. I agreed to long layers (as I've had them before and knew that they shouldn't take too much off the overall length) and she washed it, cut it, and styled it. Imagine my surprise when my hair is now shoulder length. She had cut over 8 inches off my hair and also didn't add any "layers" to boot. I am extremely pissed and will not recommend any body I know to receive salon services- even a blowout- at this location. Paid $75 for them to chop over 8 inches off of my hair that I absolutely did not agree to. Edit: I went in to request a refund and the store manager (I did not catch her name) was extremely helpful. I ended up receiving a full refund for the services. I still wouldn't recommend the salon to others and of course my hair won't be magically lengthened, but the customer service was excellent and the store manager definitely helped soften the blow from my terrible chop. read more

Terrible customer service! Sales girls were rude and acted as though it was trouble to assist us. Arrived 30 minutes before closing and they continued to remind us as though we were bothering them by shopping. Purchased $150 worth of product and checked out at 7:45, 15 minutes prior to closing and the check out clerk did not speak or say thank you for our purchase. Finally decided to do something about my quarantine hair....went online, scheduled an appointment....was prepared to make big changes....walked in15 minutes with confirmation text at the ready....and was completely disappointed. Despite receiving confirmation text they didn't have neon the schedule. I could have accepted that stuff happens, that's what I get for trusting technology, I would have rescheduled....until a stylist that was working on a client piped up saying they had a no show that morning and maybe I made a mistake. This store just emphasizes the epitome of fort smith's misery. I travel with my girlfriend to many states and cities and we usually stop by an Ulta but I knew I shouldn't have stopped here. I've never had issues with pick up orders or with employees being difficult until I visited this location. No one greets you or asks if you need any help and they just walk around seeing if you aren't wearing a thong for a mask or if your makeup is wrong (which btw my gf does her makeup better then every single employee in that store and I can assure you that). Please train your staff accordingly and fire that incompetent manager because it rubs off on your employees :) . read more

I'm laugh-crying at some of these reviews, lmao. Ulta is the kind of store where (mostly young) people know their shit about makeup and likely don't give a hell if associates at the desk don't greet them. The store is high volume and I've noticed they're understaffed during the weekends, especially when they're trying to wait on rude, self-entitled, ignorant (cough, older, cough) customers for truly petty shit. If you find the customer service there to be /that/ much of a problem, please take your cheap attitude and go shop at Walmart so I don't have to stand in line forever because Wanda couldn't find moisturizer for her chapped ass. Um...no. I've shopped here several times and without fail, no one has ever greeted me, asked me if I needed help finding something, or seemed to care much when I have found an employee and had questions for them. This last time I went in with my teen daughter, who wanted to buy her first make up. We had some questions and after a while looking all over the store I finally found an associate who was very unfriendly and more interested in texting than doing their job. We went to Ulta to get an eyebrow pencil. Immediately when we walked in the manager lady barked at us and said, " HEY! You have to wear a mask!!" We were holding our masks and that was fine, but we were shocked that she BARKED at us. Every single time someone walked in she yelled at them and that freaked us out. We were perfectly fine with wearing our masks it was normal for us, but we were literally so taken aback that we almost left. Then my mom's mask was hurting her so she pulled it off of her nose for a second. Again she YELLED at us and freaked out about her pulling it up off her nose. We won't be going back to Ulta again. Because every time we have gone there no matter the location they have been very rude. My advice, go to target, Walmart, or amazon. read more

I'm the kind of person who likes to be left alone while shopping. I don't want to be bothered. I'm fine with "Can I help find anything?" but other than that I like to shop in peace. Unless an employee is overbearing (like in B&BW) I don't notice if they greet me or not. It doesn't phase me. But this Ulta is nice. It's clean and has a great selection of makeup. Of course your coupon isn't going to work for high end products. That's how all of them are! I love Ulta's point system so much more than Sephora and I like how they're starting to carry more brands like Sephora does. I'd shop at Ulta exclusively if they had all the brands I like. But all in all this is a good location. Never had a problem at this store. read more

I have always gone to Ulta to get my hair done and never had a problem- but that was not the case this time. I had blue hair that was extremely faded and my roots were way grown in. I asked for them to match my roots which are a very very light brown. She told me she could. She applied the dye then had another client come in. She did the other clients hair which mean I had to wait almost 2 hours for her to rinse my hair. While rinsing she got me wet and was was pulling at my hair. Then she blow dried my hair and was combing in- ripping through it the entire time. The end result was not brown- but black with some blue patches still showing. I spent 4 and half hours to get nothing close to what I wanted. I had to go back again the next day for her to fix the patches and spend another 3 hours getting my hair pulled. Love Ulta, dislike this location. I have lived in this area for 3 years and customer service has always been the same...HORRIBLE. 1) The clerks never have a clue about products or how to assist with the correct products. They are inexperienced, no training. Working with cosmetics, the clerks should have training on brands, applications, ingredients, etc. 2) #1 applies only if you can find someone to help. 3) Always a line, short of cashiers. 4) While checking out, no privacy...the next person in line is always on top of you listening and can watch your entire charge transaction with the key pad. Each Ulta location should have a "stand behind this line" until you are called (like they do at TJ Maxx) 5) BIGGEST ISSUE: Ulta advertises free gifts BUT the FORT SMITH LOCATION never, ever has the free gifts. The cashiers have the same response each time I check out, "we are sent a limited supply and they go quickly." Amazing. Ulta lures customers in with free gifts but never has them, EVER. I just walked out last night and did not make my purchase. I can make the same purchase at Sephora, online, or elsewhere!. I am a platinum member. I am fed up which led to this posting. Their rude attitude doesn't help either and the attitude is only at this location as I shop ALOT at the Ulta locations in Northwest Arkansas and their clerks are always awesome. I'm a huge Ulta fan. The Ft. Smith location could use an overhaul when it comes to the staff. I often find they aren't very knowledgeable of the products on their shelves and they're sometimes very busy...talking amongst themselves. Everytime I go in there with a coupon, I get to the counter and hear: " Oh, this brand is excluded from coupon but you can buy $10 more dollars to use your coupon." Uh, No. I do NOT want to spend more money. I have 2 items which add up to over $ 15 so I was expecting to get $5 off. The coupons are only good for the cheap stuff which you can get cheaper at walmart. Im buying my stuff elsewhere from now on. There are really no bargains in this store. read more

Absolute worse customer service in town. Not only do they not greet their customers when they come in, they don't even bother to look at them. Someone needs to inform them that when the customer stops coming in, their job also stops. On Tuesday, April 3, 2018 I shopped for my last time at this store. I couldn't find what I was looking for and no one even offered to help; I had to walk around looking for an employee and they were all huddled up talking among their selves. I went in the Fort Smith, AR store yesterday and the girl that was helping me was so kind and helpful then in the middle of the store a worker that was with what appeared to be a manager looked at me and pointed her arm straight out while pointing her finger at me said with a loud voice, "she doesn't have on a mask!" I was so embarrassed and humiliated that I just stood there looking in my purse trying to find a mask while everyone in the store was staring at me. There wasn't anyone at the door to remind customers to wear a mask, they didn't have masks to offer and told me that I had to go to Target to purchase a mask before I could come back. I had worked all day rushed home to take my husband to occupational therapy, had went in another store in town and wore a mask at every stop, I had just forgot because I knew what I wanted and was in such a hurry because my husband was in the truck waiting on me and we live in another state that doesn't require masks. The manager and worker were both so unprofessional that I can't believe that Ulta would ever employ anyone like them. I understand the rules but the embarrassment and the two unprofessional employees is something that is unacceptable and needs to be addressed. Prepare to spend a good amount of money because SURPRISE ! High end makeup is expensive yes I know what a shock this must be to you all.. the prices they have are standard, while the drugstore makeup they offer you could easily waddle your way over to target and get for 3 bucks cheaper. Customer service is good, not the best, but still good. I don't feel ostracized like I do in sephora or mac but that's a review for another day.. For the most part this store isn't bad and the rewards program comes in handy. read more

Horrible!!!!!! My mom got her hair done there and she was there for 6 hours strait while they "tried" to redo highlights and base color . All they did was leave the dye in my moms hair way too long and damaged it to its extreme , also not even near the color she asked for. The lady that worked there said "oh wow it didn't come out that great, i need to go home and do my homework and see how I can fix it" like WHAT!!! Are u serious??? What kind of people do they hire??? Untrained and un professional people that's who!!! They let my mom leave without paying but made her come back the next day and screwed up her hair even more !!!!!!! Hair was black when she said blonde!!!! It's not what she wanted and she still had to pay 150!! So ridiculous .
