Came up to where the line to check out start... ready to pay...one cashier checking a customer out...2 other cashiers standing talking to each other-saw me waiting - then turned and continued to have their personal conversation...first cashier finished with customer then looked at me and asked "are you ready?" My response "I've been ready" the two cashiers talking then looked at me -- then asked the person that was standing behind me to come on up... they knew the girl... and were excited to see all the items she was buying...never experienced ageism before -- but sure did then... each person should be treated like they should be there and are welcome... Jennifer assisted me! She was so kind and helpful!! She made my day!! I had electronic coupons and she helped me utilize the best ones. Did you know Ulta has prestige brands?? I did not, until Jennifer enlightened me. The Ulta brand is not prestige, but is a very product line. Similar to L'Oréal. If Ulta does not have a product in stock, they will gladly order it for you; it will be shipped to wherever you like. :) They have many samples, and gladly help you try them on!! I'm an out of towner w/very limited time (I made that very clear in the beginning. I had color done to my hair (vivid colors). I had a later appointment that made my appointment go past closing time. I was satisfied with my hair until I got home and looked at it more in detail. There were several spots that were harsh blunt lines around my face (some spots weren't touched/clear brush lines). I get hair can have difficulty holding the color. Some areas of my head by my ear looked bald because the lightener in the hair was white. The stylist said before I left that if it needed to be fixed, I could come back for free to fix it. 10PM I am at home seeing all of the spots. Like I said, out of towner. I made an appointment for first thing in the morning w/the first available stylist. I totally get it being a corporate place going with certain procedures. I understand it was with a different stylist. I also made it very clear I work remote 10-3 every day & a single mom of two. So my availabilty spots are VERY slim. Fast forward (manager was there most of my appointment-my situation was made very clear by me) and even the stylist said the fix was free. At the very end of my appointment when it came time to leave, the manager came to me and said 'As a manager, what can we do for you?" I replied, nothing else because my hair was fixed. She just kept repeating that question until I got the vibe that she wanted me to pay in which I replied, "Okay, so would you like me to pay?" She said "Yes. B/c you did not call first & you're with a diff stylist. You shoud've called" First, I was told by everyone even the new stylist fixing my hair it'd be free. And the times that she would've wanted me to call, the store was CLOSED. I get corporate procedures, but her mannerisms was not in any way professional or polite at all. Didn't try to be understanding. I clearly expressed that I would've called but it was CLEARLY past closing and I have a job that starts around 10 and they do not open until 9 AM for the salon. She just kept repeating I should've called, so they could've arranged for my original stylist to come in and fix it. I clearly couldn't have called because it was PAST HOURS. They were 'gracious' to give me a discount. Not to mention, the manager muttered the words, "Well, that's not the story she gave me." When I was explaining (calmly & nicely) my situation to HER manager. Also, it wasn't a 'story'. I was explaining the timeline of events. Nothing what I said was changed or altered from speaking to her. So, I paid $400 for the first appointment. And I paid $130 (w/the discount) for them to fix it. Ulta salon, please do better for your clients. The manager's attitude left a nasty taste in my mouth. read more

Just cried. Cried some more. So it's Covid and I cut my own hair as it was way too long. I also needed my highlights touched up as well and brows waxed. So four hours later and store closed, this is my review. First, the hairdresser and brow tech were nice but I am still not happy and honestly I do not know how to go about addressing the issue. Brow. 1 * It is some tiny table in the middle of some makeup isle. They have tiny stools fit for a 12 yo. You have to crouch and bend your neck so the tech can even get to and see your brow to work on. Yeah, that's right. No reclining back. Lighting is bad. The tech could barely see which lead to her missing a few areas and lead to pinching my eye lid a few times too with tweezers. The single star goes to her as she was trying to deal with the horrific setup. Hair cut. 3* I'm still trying to get use to it. The layers are a bit wide from top to bottom. It is framed nicely around my face. I will have to get the back layers fixed as it grows out, too short to fix it now. Highlights. 1* (edited 2*) I paid for full highlights and got that. My head was full of foil. However, my hair turned out darker than I went in with. They said it might be the lighting. But no, it's darker. Thus the crying. I do not know what happened or even how to address it. One one hand she spent hours on my hair; the other hand I didn't get what I wanted either. I'm just discouraged and heartbroken. I will need to get it fixed at some point or go box The hairdresser was very nice and seemed like she understood what I wanted. I just don't understand how highlights made my hair darker and grayish, instead of blonde. The hair wash was great though. (Edited update. I washed my hair which removed the product they used a day or so later. It lightened up some and revealed some of the highlights. You can see they used too much of the low lights which took away from the highlights. You can also see not all the hair was processed through with varying shades of lighter colors. However, it is still darker than I went in with and not blonde either. Overall, I do not feel the money ($170) for what I received. So. I decided for some odd reason (and after way too much YouTube) that it would be a good idea to try to cut my own hair. Needless to say it did not turn out like I'd planned and I was kinda embarrassed to go somewhere and get it fixed. Eventually I decided to book a hair appointment at Ulta. Ashley was my hair stylist and let me tell y'all she was awesome! Not only was she super friendly and understanding, but she really did a great job on fixing my hair and making it look the best it could under the circumstances. We laughed and had fun and just a really enjoyable experience for me. So ask for Ash when you book your hair appointment! read more

My wife scheduled a hair appointment in November to prepare for our newborn family photos we had planned since last year. It's now February and received an appointment reminder yesterday. My wife gets there with her appointment confirmation however, the employees at ulta said they can't do her hair and would not honor her appointment. I have gotten my hair done a few times at this location and every time I select Darwin as my stylist. He is AMAZING! In all my years I have never had anyone style my hair better than he does and for half the price than going to any of the hair salons in town. I have very thick, curly hair and he can always tackle my mane with ease. If you're looking for coloring, cut, or style Darwin can do it all! read more

I had an appointment scheduled for 1000 this morning at the Ulta in Fort Walton. It was scheduled online, through their website, about a week ago. I showed up at 1003, and the front doors were both locked. When I looked inside, there was no one there. The "updated" store hours said they open at 1100. I was confused since the appt. time was for 1000 on the website. I had a text message and email to confirm. I tried calling the phone number listed, and of course, it was automated voice mail since they were closed. I stuck around and went shopping next door at Ross, until 1100. When I came back, I walked over to the back area where the salon is (there's only one entrance), and I politely explained what happened an hour earlier. Three of the staff (including my appointed hairstylist, Jasmine) came to the desk. They informed me "this happens sometimes," and that I should have called. I informed them I did, and then one staff stated "oh yeah, depending on the time she called, there may not have been an option to leave a message or talk to anyone." Jasmine then proceeded to tell me she was at the front door at 1000 with the store manager and they were looking out for me, so I couldn't have been there at 1000. First of all, who does that? I find it hard to believe one stands at the door looking for their first-time clients. Secondly, she then proceeded to tell me she called my cellphone number "several times," and was told it was the wrong number. I showed her my call log, with no missed calls and explained how that wouldn't be possible since I've had this same number for 20 years. At the end of the day, I was willing to work with Ulta if they apologized for the inconvenience, and tried to fit me into the schedule for the day. However, they never apologized, stated they couldn't get me in today (nor did they offer any other appointments), and Jasmine straight up lied about the doors being unlocked, her and the manager being up at he front, and her multiple attempts to contact me. This was a very unfortunate and unprofessional encounter. I highly suggest you go to a hair salon that is professional, respects their customers and does not lie to cover up errors made on their end. Imagine if that same cover-up tactic was given to your hair's care? Yikes. I don't even want to imagine that. It was a blessing in disguise. read more

I was very pleased with the salon service. My hairdresser (Alysha)was great! Unlike everyone else in town she took time to listen to what I wanted for me and my daughter's hair and asked plenty of questions to make sure we were gettingbthe hair cut we wanted. Went to see Shelly at ulta a few weeks ago for my annual trim, I was new to the area and she was so friendly and kind. I tend to find salons kind of intimidating as I don't need a ton of maintenance on my hair other than a trim once a year, but she made me feel welcome and I left was a gorgeous new hair do! The other stylists were super nice as well and they all seems to support each other throughout the visit by helping with one thing or another! Definitely recommend! read more

I hate to not support business in FWB because it's so limited but the people who work in this store are just not great. I have encountered more rude, unhelpful people here than anywhere else in town. They act like you are just completely bothering them if you have questions. I would rather give me money here than to Sephora but they really make it difficult to want to keep coming back. read more

I just wanted a little help with foundation and according to them they can color match. However, I asked two different people to help me with it..both of which seemed very unpleasant about it. One even asked another girl right in front of me, "do you want to be the one to color match her?" As if I were a total inconvenience. I've been here probably 5 times and every time they've offered to help pretty quickly. I usually can find enough stuff I don't need on my own so I don't need it. I've never had a problem with something I need not being in stock. Checkout can get slightly backed up but it's no different than any other Ulta I've been in. read more

My review is for the Benefit Brow Bar, simply because their time management isn't up to par. I had a 3:00 apt, and arrived at 3. The esthetician (not the girl i normally book with because she had called out sick) was already doing a brow tint on another customer. I have no idea when she started but she didn't finish until 3:30. Then I find out there was another girl in front of me with no appointment that was waiting to be seen. Now I didn't want to be rude and tell the young girl She had to wait longer because I already had an appointment. So I just told the esthetician I would reschedule at a later date because i couldn't wait around any longer. I will continue to go back because Katy is a really good and I do enjoy the brow mapping the the brow bar does. But I'm advising everyone to be ware that they seem to take the pre made appointments lightly and don't really go by them if there are other customers there. I will no longer make appointments on the weekend. I'm assuming that's what the problem was, but I'm still annoyed and their time management needs to be improved. read more

I love Ulta with a passion! All of their hair stylists are amazing!!! Especially with different formal hair designs but recently on June 3rd 2019 (my birthday) I went in and got my hair colored to black. After it was all done and dried it looked amazing! Just the color I wanted. After just one wash every other day or 2 the color started to fade (wasn't really the black black anymore) and I noticed my hair literally started to fall out live I've never seen before. Nothing in my diet has changed nor in my life. Everything was Normal. Yes I have dyed my hair before at salons and at home but this has never ever happened before. Just after brushing my hair 1 time, the brush itself was just filled with hair (like I've been brushing my hair for 6 months and not cleaned the brush). I don't know if it's the product they use or something else they have used but it's been about 3 weeks and my hair is still falling and and have had made an actual dr appt for this. If anyone would like proof I would gladly send a picture of what was left in my brush just after brushing it once!!! read more
