While I was doing my thing standing in front of Charlottes Tilbury and can't decide between finish powder or finish bronzer, this rep came up tells me I'm looking at the wrong shade and I should be looking at 2-3 shades darker and after I politely told her I'm good and does NOT need her help, she goes on asking me, "Can I show you Tarte instead? In case you don't know, they're cruelty free blah blah blah in case you care about such thing blah blah blah..." I was so nice "thank you but no thank you! After coming here I try to go to Southlake instead as the selection is more vast. The layout is much better for shopping. The service is much better. Coming to this ulta the ladies at the register make me feel like it was a inconvenience that I even walked in there. As a customer you want to feel welcomed so your shopping experience is more enjoyable. But the staff at the registry makes me dread shopping here and I don't want that. They offered me a free gift with my online purchase and because I didn't toggle something when ordering to say yes give me the gift they didn't give it to me and I called them after I placed the order noticing that the gift wasn't included and they said so sorry for the inconvenience too bad we won't do anything for you nor will we even let you come pick up the gift that was supposed to be included in your order. I spent an hour of my workday on the phone with them to tell me too bad. Horrible! I can buy makeup cheaper other places and I am so disappointed in this store and their customer service. i took my daughter to Ulta who had hair to the middle if her back. she took several pictures to show what she wanted (two inches off) and after TWO hours, she came out with keratin in her eye that the beautician spilled on her and let her clean herself, and about 8 inches off her hair and so thinned out, she can do nothing with it. she is Autistic and they took advantage if her. it took us $65 to try and fix but were told there is nothing to do but let it grow. Lupe the manager offered "her money and tip back". It is unacceptable!! what about the years worth if growth that she has to wait and the issues she is having because of her anxiety. oh, and.... Carla's license was EXPIRED! Lupe says she cannot comment on that. I will be closing my Ulta account and complaint as much as i can until my daughter's hair grows. i called corporate and they said they'd call me back. i haven't heard a perp!! My disappointment and concern regarding a recent experience I had the trinity commons i encountered an employee Angelina whose behavior was unprofessional. I had a bad haircut here last year. The stylist said she could give me the layers I asked for and did not. She re did it several times only for me to finally say it was fine and leave. I decided to book another appointment with a different girl a year later. 03/26/2024. I really hate to have to do this but this isn't fair. I went in and asked to cut about 5 inches off (MAYBE 6). I then proceeded to tell her she can cut it to the length UNDER my boob (that is probably where I messed up). I showed her exactly where. A few minutes go by after she started and the other employees behind her start gasping that a lot of hair! My stylist then proceeds to say she cut off 12 inches! Of course I start freaking out and I asked them to show me. Immediately I told all of them "That is really short!" They told me "no, it's still long". Then I said "I asked you to cut it under my boob" and I pulled my hair down and showed them that my hair was now a few inches above my chest. No one said anything except "it's still long". It's absolutely not long. I tried my hardest to get over it thinking she could at least give me the layers, face framing layers and bangs I wanted.. You can't tell I have any of that except the bangs. I'm so annoyed and frustrated. Why would she ever think cutting 12 inches off was ok? Most hair stylist will ask before cutting off that much hair if that length was ok!! My hair went past by butt. It is now above my chest and no where near what I asked for. I showed plenty of pictures. Beware booking your next appointments! I will never come back. These "professionals" can only do a basic cut. read more

I went to this ulta after being assured the stylist would be able to do a color correction on a blond that went strawberry red. After 2 hours she said she had no more time and to come back the next day when there would be no charge. The first try cost 263 and left me with lavender drab hair. The next day I was told I would have to pay and spent another 123 and walked out with yellow hair that had been fried by chemicals. I will never go to this place again and I'm just hoping not to lose all my hair at this point. I have notified their corporate office and the BBB but that won't fix what has been done. What's not great is the multiple annoying text message appointment reminders and the multiple confirmation phone calls!!! A chain as large as Ulta should be able to send ONE text message for a yes to confirm or a no to cancel. Considering taking my business elsewhere because I don't need 5-6 text messages and multiple phone calls ever but very annoying while at work!! From what I've gathered over the years from other customers...Ulta corporate doesn't really care to update their appointment software for the benefits of their hairstylists or their customers. I go less and less. Never enough people at the register or people standing behind the counter but do t get on a register to help out. The last 3 times they have not had what I went looking for even though it said online they did. When I try to use their $3.50 off coupon they always say it doesn't qualify what I'm buying regardless how much I'm spending over $15.00. the only reason I have it 2 stars is due to a few people on the floor when they ask if they can help you find something they actually know exactly where it's located. And I'm referring to the store at Alliance area in North Ft Worth. It's aggregating when you go out of your way and never get what you went for. There is so much to like about Ulta and I don't even wear makeup. But I do use body creams, body lotions, body butters, facial moisturizers, face masks, and hair products for natural curls and they have an abundant selection of all of these. They carry so many quality brands to choose from. I prefer shopping at this location to the one in Burleson because every single time I'm shopping at this particular location the store employees are acknowledging me and all their customers. They come up and offer assistance with a smile. Every single time. The manager and staff at this location make shopping enjoyable and I already enjoy this store so much. This review is just for the retail portion of the store, not the salon. I love make-up but absolutely hate how much it can cost. That's why I usually just stick to the basics of bronzer, mascara and lip gloss. I was fortunate enough to to receive a gift card to Ulta for Christmas, so I could do some much needed make-up shopping. The thing I like about Ulta is that they have both high-end make-up (Stila, Smashbox, Urban Decay, etc) and some less expensive drugstore make-up (Cover Girl, Almay, etc.). I splurged more than I normally would thanks to the gift card on a really great eye kit from Stila. I was disappointed there weren't more testers of lipstick. I'm terrible at picking out lipstick, and don't want to commit to a $22 tube unless I know it is going to make me look fabulous. And unfortunately, it didn't seem like there were any consultants to help me pick one out, so I choose a couple of colors from the cheap drugstore side of the store. Plus, I picked up a fun nail polish color for only $2. The staff in general seemed aloof. Maybe if I come back on the weekend when some of the brands have representatives I can get some personalized attention. I'll be back, but I'll bring one of my make-up wearing friends to help me decide what to buy. read more

i received a gift card from Ulta which I was eager to use . Bought a couple of things and returned one the next day and bought something else. The difference was a small amount that I was owed. I assumed they would put it back on my gift card or just give me cash back. They made it into a federal case and the manager who was so rude and condescending said I was out of luck. They owed me back a small amount of money which would have been very simple to do, but instead talked to me like I was a fool. I finally just laughed and said I'll continue to avoid Ulta and frequent Sephora! Remodeling the store to look like Sephora isn't cutting it. I visited this Ulta recently for a makeup application, and was pretty underwhelmed with the whole experience. The woman applying my makeup was friendly, but outside of her, I felt readily ignored by several other employees. When checking in at the front of the salon area, I felt like an imposition, and immediately started doubting my decision to have my makeup done for the evening. The feeling lingered as I waited on my appointment, looking for a particular skin cream that I needed, but being largely ignored by a group of 3-4 employees standing less than 10 feet away from me - but who did not seem to want to give me the time of day just to acknowledge me, let alone help me find something. After unsuccessfully looking for about ten minutes, I gave up and just waited back at the Salon, eager to be done with the appointment. The application took about 45 minutes. The makeup artist was nice, but the results were not what I wanted. I said that I wanted browns and neutrals to be used on my eyes, but instead she used blues and blacks (or dark gray, I'm not sure) - resulting in a much heavier eye than I expected. The rest of the makeup looked fine (she did a good job evening out my skin tone, finding a great lip color, etc.) - but I could not get over how dark my eyes were for the entire night. If you visit this store for a makeup application - be sure you communicate with your makeup artist very clearly about what you want - I know that besides my experience, friends of mine have had the same issue with makeup applications at this location, so just be honest if it's not working for you! Additionally, the store itself seemed disorganized. Among the product shelves, there were lots of items just carelessly out of place, and surprisingly quite a few items that were not in stock at all. I got the impression that no one really cared about being neat that day, something that seemed even more apparent in the salon area where most of the smaller tables and the majority of the large center table were covered with open products and used brushes & sponges, definitely not what I was hoping to see right before I trusted someone to apply makeup to my face. In the past when I have visited this salon for makeup applications, things didn't look so disheveled - but all it takes is one dirty brush to make a good face go bad, and the results were unfortunately not worth the risk in this situation. Overall I'm giving this experience two stars. I am a big fan of Ulta for all things Beauty - I just think it may be awhile before I go back again (if at all), for a makeup application - especially considering how much it costs ($60+ after eyelashes & tip!!), and how underwhelming my recent experience was. What is the deal with the people working here??? I got here at 9:50 AM to get my eyebrow pencil. I watched as people began lining up outside awaiting the opening time of 10:00AM. About 6 people were standing outside waiting in the heat which at that point was 90 degrees.when 10:00 rolled around, the woman who was unlocking the door just stood there wth her back turned to the door talking to another associate. She did this for a full minute before finally (slowly) unlocking the door to open the store at 10:01. This may not seem like a big deal but it is so disrespectful to not honor your store hours to those people who may be in a hurry. Every time I am in here, the cashiers have attitude. Why I am always the one thanking them and telling them to have a nice day? What happened to basic customer service? Believe the reviews--Don't go here if you need product recommendations, the staff are not very knowledgable and always recommend the same products to everyone. I am an avid ULTA patron and this location is usually where I come for all my Ulta needs. Customer service at this location is hit or miss; sometimes there is not a single associate to be found (or they pretend you aren't there) and other times, they're swarming. I have noticed that when I do ask for help, I'm often pointed to the most expensive product. That being said, when I have purchased the product, I usually like the result. I appreciate that they are faithful to Ulta's return policy (which is: try it and if you don't like it bring it back) and they are usually well stocked on products. The store is located in an extremely busy parking lot so parking can be stressful. I am always able to find a spot (sometimes quite far away) but finding the spot without running into another car is another issue entirely. All in all: customer service is average, parking is anxiety provoking but you'll usually find what you need. read more

A friend recently went to Ulta and got made over I didn't know that they did makeovers. Sephora was a little trek and Mac was pretty busy. I don't wear makeup. *gasp*. It may be time at 29? I don't want to look like the worn down mom. Carley did my make over and gave me a natural look. I liked it. It was $40 plus the makeup. She was nice enough to style my hair too. I always have a good experience at this location. Today I went in for more than just the purchase of my standard go to products. I had a great experience at the Benefit brow bar! The girl that helped me was quick and professional, even showed me how to better use a product I already have to fill in my brows. The technician also took the time to cover up my redness from the wax with concealer. I was also looking for a lipstick for an upcoming event where I will be having my makeup done, I just wanted the perfect lipstick for re-application. The woman that helped me in cosmetics was amazing! She asked me what I wanted and was able to match my style right off the bat! The great thing was that she was prepared to apply every pink lipstick in the store on me had I wanted to! I highly recommend you try this store for any makeup needs. read more

I must say I'm quite surprised by all the negative reviews about this Ulta location. For years I have gone to this Ulta and had great shopping experiences. This location has great deals on items that I often cannot find at other Ulta locations and the customer service has always been excellent. Granted, I rarely need assistance and wander around until I find what I need. But when I do ask for help, I am always pointed in the right direction. If you are reading these reviews and debating not going to this Ulta because of the negative reviews, I challenge you to try it out for yourself.
