    Ulta Beauty. My family got a hair cut once, and she said she will never return. Poor service, horrible experience. They took too many customers than what they can handle, and she waited twice as long than the promised time. She said she will never return!!!

    *DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR DONE BY CHELSEA TARKINGTON* I came to this location to get my hair done by a stylist named Chelsea. I have had my hair done by her twice. The first time, she was nice and easygoing but she'd tug at my hair so hard while she was styling it that my head would jerk back and forth. She was also aggressively applying the shampoo and conditioner, it even hurt but I didn't say anything because I gave her the benefit of the doubt. She was able to lighten my hair from a box color jet black to a dimensional caramel and medium brown. I loved it so much that I thought she'd be my go to hair stylist. I made it clear to her that I loved it and that the goal now was to lighten the left over medium/dark brown but to keep the dimension that the caramel and light brown highlights gave. The goal was to keep aiming towards a light brown with dimension. And I told her I loved the results from the first color and that I wanted to continue lightening the dark brown. About a week or so ago, I was at this location doing some shopping and I saw her walking by. I greeted her and told her I'd like to come in to get my roots touched up and lightening up of the dark/medium brown that was left over from the first appointment. She then went ahead and scheduled the appointment herself. I came in for my second appointment with her. I was an hour late and I called several times to communicate that. I had every intention of tipping her a little extra for still taking me in that day. When I got to the store, I happily greeted her with a smile. She did not respond and went straight to the chair, pulled it out, and stared at me while I put my stuff down on her salon station. I thought to myself, maybe she's upset that I'm late. Well, I sat down and she didn't say a word. She grabbed her book and showed me a light brown color and told me this would lighten up any remaining medium dark brown. As I'm sitting there in complete silence, I tried several times to engage in conversation and asked how she'd been and such. She answered short and disregarded any attempt to conversing. She did not want to speak to me and only spoke when she answered short or gave me directions. She did not explain what she was doing nor asked questions. She gave no indication that she'd be stripping off ALL the light color and doing an ALLOVER color change. Mind you, I don't get my hair done often and I have no idea what she's doing. I trusted her to remember what I asked for and what my goal was. I trusted that she was going to give me what I asked and would be paying for. She booked and applied a more expensive service. During the application of color, I asked her to also trim my dead ends and give me soft bangs like Kate Middleton's. While she was shampooing my hair, she asked me if I would like to have deep conditioning and that IT CAME WITH THE HAIRCUT. I understood that the deep conditioning was included in the haircut, meaning I WAS NOT GOING TO BE CHARGED AN EXTRA $10. The play in words to try to upsell is just disgusting to me. I later found out at the end of the service that it was an extra $10. So then we go back to her station for the cut and blow dry. I see that my wet hair looks BLACK and I internally freaked out. I then realized what she had done. Every single bit of lighter colors were gone. And after the blow dry, I was left with this dark brown. How could she hear me ask for LIGHT BROWN and proceed to make my hair DARK BROWN, almost as dark as the jet black she was able to lighten on the first app? After she was done, I confusedly told her my hair was dark brown. I was clearly upset and not happy. She dismissed me and just told me it would wash out? Wash out to a light color? I couldn't believe this lady. I then went to the bathroom to wipe off my face she got full of color product. I was so upset that I cried in the bathroom before I walked out to her simply handing my ticket. She could not care less. I then spoke to the manager and explained what happened. Chelsea then came up to the register just to argue with me and basically told ME I was wrong!!!!! She did not once apologize or try to make things right. She did not acknowledge that she ruined by hair and gave me rough short bangs. SHE IS THE WORST HAIR STYLIST. Absolutely horrible customer service, she does not care to get to know you, she tries to upsell the ticket as much as possible, she does not care about what you want but cares more about what is easiest and convenient for her. She was rude, distant, cold, and careless. I did not pay a single cent for this horrible service if I can even call it that. After all of this, the manager had the audacity to ask me if I wanted to tip her!!! Tip her for what? For ruining my hair? For doing an all over dark brown?? When that is precisely what I didn't want????? What kind of customer service is that, seriously? The lady isn't even nice. DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR DONE BY CHELSEA TARKINGTON. Absolute garbage.     Ask for Denise Campbell! She is a great listener, gave me a beautiful haircut and recommended products that worked so well. She asked me what I did and didn't want cut, answered my questions about how it would look if it was cut "this" way or "that" way, and checked in with me while cutting to make sure I was still liking it. I really needed a haircut as my split ends were pretty bad and a haircut was way overdue, my hair was looking pretty frizzy but she made my hair look pretty close to the reference photos I gave and the products (Feather-Light Protein Cream from Curlsmith, and some light hair oil she keeps at her station) she recommended made it feel a lot healthier, softer and smoother. She trimmed in just the right places and took the whole process very carefully to make sure I was comfortable with the ways she was cutting. She seemed very experienced and knew just how to do methods she was using. She washed and dried my hair, the way she styled it looked great, and the hair cream she gave me made it feel very smooth and a few hours later now it is still very soft.

    My service as not rendered because she couldn't get me a clipper cut. Because of I had appointment to get a clipper cut but never got it

    I went to my 1st appointment with Shanni after finding her salon here on YELP and left the salon…read morevery happy and pleased. Here is why: 1) I respect any woman who books all of her own appointments herself, washes and blowdries your hair herself, and then styles your hair. There was no shampoo assistant in other words. This is a very hardworking lady! 2) Shanni was warm, friendly, and professional without being 'over the top". She's a normal, chill woman earning a living. 3) Shanni has 1 stylists chair in her salon where YOU the client sit, while Shanni styles your hair. You can watch the tv she has on. Having the opportunity to sit one on one with her made me feel very comfortable. When you go to most salons you will see everyone in there getting their hair done. Shanni puts ALL of her FOCUS and ATTENTION on YOU during your time with her. I was AMAZED by this. 4) Shanni took her time braiding my hair for the weave install. This stylist took HOURS on my hair, and not once did she rush or burn me when using the flat iron. 5) Shanni provided me with a complimentary bottle of water upon request. 6) Her tone when speaking to me was very respectful and never dismissive. 7) My hair was done perfectly. My own husband could tell how pleased I was by the look on my face. I have had horrific experiences with other stylists. Shanni was truly a breath of fresh air! 8) Her skill level was top tier! The way in which she braided my hair and did the sew in was definitely customized to my head. Thank you Shanni! I can't wait to book again.

    All in all, things could have been a lot better if the issues had be corrected. I decided to give…read morethis place a try after reading the reviews but i was sadly disappointed. I went from cutting my locs of 16 years to coming in for a Brazilian blowout and pixie cut. She skipped the last 3 steps of the brazilian blowout, cut my hair in the shape of a 70s Afro instead of pixie and didn't seal the style so my hair was ruined within 30 minutes of being outside directly after my appointment. There are quite a few things wrong with my experience. She was aware the brazilian was not done correctly and said she was willing to go over the areas that were not done correctly. When I mentioned how the cut was wrong her reply was, "I did the best I could". She did not mention how my hair was so badly damaged but said that is why certain parts are too short, when they were no were near that short when I came in. She told me to come in to get it fixed but also tried to make me get a hair treatment and when I denied she was conveniently unable to answer her phone or return my call/message so my hair was never fixed. She also waited until I was halfway through my hair appointment to tell me that she normally charges $450 for a Brazilian but because I have LITERALLY one inch of hair she did it for $300. After the product is put in the hair, it is supposed to be blow dried and then flat iron and then rinsed and then style. However, she did not rinse it, but the flat iron after the blow dry of the initial Brazilian product was how she finished my hair. And then told me afterwards that my hair texture takes better that way, which I find hard to believe. Bad experience once I got the true results. Do not recommend. Very money hungry lady that appears friendly and well meaning. She also gave me a warning that she is not gentle so yes, she yanked my hair plenty of times. I was patient while in the chair but now I'm actually furious about my experience, lack of customer service and transparency.
