Frustrating- I am extremely busy getting ready to go out of town so I order things I needed online for pickup. After almost home I notice I was missing one thing. I get back to the store at 7:50 (sign says they close at 9:00) and they were locking the door. She did let me in they couldn't find the mascara, I ordered. The most unwelcoming and snobby Ulta I've been into so far. Placed a pick up order of only 3 items which are not hard to find and doesn't take long to grab at all. When asking to pick it up, they said *rudely* it wasn't ready. I'm more than understanding of retail workers but these Ulta girls are severely snobby and make the store unapproachable. Kennewick location has really gone downhill since they moved. The employees have been rude every time I go, they act like they have no time to help, and I am wasting their time asking. The ones on the register ring you up and that's it. Don't try to ask anything, dont try to make small talk, they aren't there for that. They have been out of a certain product for over 3 weeks now, and I have literally got 4 different responses, one of which was "I don't know, you can always see if somewhere else has it." I was told to order it online for store pickup and they will set it aside when shipment comes in, but that order was denied due to "not being in stock in store" next Tuesday night I checked because I was told shipments come in on Tuesdays, I was told to CHECK BACK ON TUESDAY, and the employee was bewildered at someone telling me to order it online, may as well told me I was lying. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE to where I don't even want to go in the store anymore, which I guess is their ultimate goal. Online everything. I love, love, love this store! They have every kind of cosmetic you could possibly want, from designer brands (Benefit, Urban Decay, Lorac) to drugstore brands (maybelline, cover girl, revlon). Furthermore, they have cute hair accessories, nice shampoo (and usually good deals on it), lotions, body sprays, fine perfume and cologne, and a million kinds of nail polish.They have curling irons, flat irons, and hair dryers that you can try out before buying. It's like a Sephora, but bigger and better-- and with better sales. Get a reward card and they'll send you sweet coupons like the 20% off one I just used recently. They also have a full service salon for cuts and colors, but I'm happy with my current salon so I'm not likely to try this one. I've seen people getting makeovers here, so give this place a try if you're looking for someone to do your wedding makeup or just looking for a change. You can get your eyebrows waxed here, too. Every time I go to this place, I always have a pleasant experience. I'm always greeted upon entering, always asked if I need help, etc. I had my hair cut today, which was the first haircut I had living here in the Tri and the first haircut I've had in a while! The last haircut I had was a nightmare.. So I pretty much didn't trust anyone with my hair afterwards. However, I had a day off and I knew today was gonna be the big day. I made an appointment with Brandi. When I got there, she really took the time to understand what I wanted, yet wasn't afraid to throw in some of her own suggestions, which I really liked. Needless to say, she's pretty much the only person I trust my hair with. Specifically for the salon: booked an appointment in person. When I showed up for my appointment, they told me it would be 5-8 minutes. Waited for 30 minutes past the start of the appointment time before asking. Girl went to the back to ask, came up to me and started giggling saying that the girl who had booked me "should not have done that" and that "it was not very cool of her". Great selections and brands. I usually love Ulta but this location doesn't staff appropriately. On two separate shopping trips they do not ever staff enough cashiers. I was approached for help on the floor at least 5 times by 5 different people but stood in line for over 10 minutes with one cashier. Management needs to cross train floor staff to work cashiers and then pay attention when customers are waiting. Lines also during holiday were 20 people deep with two cashiers. Why have all those registers if you only put two people on them. I walked out the second trip because no way I wanted to stand in line that long. read more

I've been going here for years and after my favorite stylist moved on, I made the mistake of seeing Elsa for root touch up and a trim. It was awful. My roots were orangish even after toning and I had the worst haircut in years. Her "low maintenance" cut has been nothing but an absolute pain in the ass to style for six months. So...why did I give five stars? I gave them another chance and saw Heidi instead. Heidi knows EXACTLY what she's doing and has a much better understanding of hair, especially in color/lightening, hair texture, needs of processed hair, and fixing bad layering. I feel that 3 stars are fair because Ulta has both positive and negative aspects. The bad is that they are usually out of everything I want and when checking out the line is always very long with usually no more than one person at the cash register. The good at Ulta is that the staff are very friendly and willing to go out of their way to help you with anything you need. The prices are pretty high as well but that is to be expected at an upscale Cosmetic store. Another very unpleasant thing about Ulta is the god-awful ear bleeding terrible music that plays on a continuous loop. This review is purely for the salon. I called in for an appointment and Melita was able to see me within 30 minutes. Though the store was packed, I didn't have to wait for my appointment; just checked in at the salon and she was ready. I don't really know much about hair care or style, so I just mentioned I wanted it shoulder length and to frame my face nicely; other than that I was open to her suggestions. I appreciated her asking whether I preferred hot, warm, or cold water for shampoo and conditioner as I've had some experiences with scalding hot water before. There was a special going on that day, which was free glaze or gloss with the haircut but I mentioned I wasn't really interested and she didn't pressure me to get it or buy extra products. Blow dry and styling was also very comfortable (I've had experiences where the gal put the heat too long on the scalp and it burned). I found her very honest and attentive. When I checked out she also mentioned I was eligible for a first timer's discount which was a lovely surprise. All in all really appreciated her help and great hair cut. read more

Having moved from the East coast & not having access to stores like Sephora & high-end department stores, finding Ulta was a close runner up. They have a majority of the items I would buy in high end department stores (i.e. Nordstroms, etc.). They don't carry everything so I do still have to online shop, but for NARS, Benefit, Butter... this is where I go to re-stock. I would not recommend going here for eyebrow waxing unless you are not picky about shape. For me have the perfect brow is absolutely essential & they were just not up to par. Product selection for this area is why I rate them 4 out of 5. Services are why I don't give them a perfect 5. read more

Normally I wouldn't post a review if I had a bad experience around this time of year because, well duh. But I had to say something about this, because I was appalled. I walked in with my daughter and was greeted, and immediately went to the benefit area. I was on a mission as I was with my one year old, and was picking up one last present for my mother. One of the girls working at the benefit counter asked me if I needed any help, and I replied "no, I'm good thanks." She then walked over to her co-worked and mumbled under her breath and they both looked at me and laughed. I can only imagine the lovely comment about me she made. As I was running errands, I had zero makeup on, maybe a swipe of mascara, but I have a comment to return to this girl, little do you know I'm actually a professional makeup artist and would school you when it comes to makeup application. Your horribly blended eyeshadow and bad contour aside, You have a lot to learn about the industry. You never insult a customer, especially a mom who is clearly overtired. There's a reason no one is at your counter. Check yourself. You are in the service industry and all you're serving is bad attitude. read more

Elsa the salon manager did a Kerastraight treatment on my daughter this afternoon. She was looking up in a book how to do it when my daughter arrived...should have been clue #1 to get out of there. This treatment has only taken 2 hrs tops in the past with other stylists today it took more than 3 1/2 hrs. She used way more product that has ever been used before and my daughters hair is shorter than it has been in the past. After leaving my daughter had to wash the product off the frame of her face, and also noticed clumps of it still in her hair. She can not wash her hair for 3 days or she will ruin the rest of it...very disappointing. We were way overcharged for this because of the extra product that was used. The store manager did work with us on reducing the price to something more agreeable since we had to pay anything. My daughter very much so misses Brandi who has done her hair for the past year, but will never return for Elsa. read more

So this store is run pretty badly. They have many workers yet only one working counter and long lines. One lady was stocking and could see the line but ignored it. So I have actually found I can buy same stuff on Amazon for much less, unless ultra Is having a great sale. I had my brow appt. This is in regard to my latest eyebrow wax at the brow bar. I have had nothing but great experiences this far but yesterday 5/15/16 I went in to get my eyebrows waxed. I usually have Shanice (I think that is her name) or Rebecca. Unfortunately one of the regular girls wasn't there so they had a girl named Jessica with blonde hair do my brows. She did a Horrible job. She ruined my eyebrow shaped but worse she burned me and now I have a patch under my eyebrow that is missing skin and totally noticeable. On top of that she did the worst job filling in my brows after (probably trying to hid her mistakes) and I had to buy make up remover wipes to take it off. Next time I will make sure I get one of my regular girls. Very disappointed since I got my brows done for my birthday next week and they were ruined after growing them out forever. read more
