Went tonight with my friends, we arrived at 730 just looking around for a little my friend was going to purchase something until the worker came up to us and negatively said "I hope you know we close in 4 minutes" mind you we where making our way out. I responded with "yes I know we are heading out right now" very nicely with a smile she then proceeded in an attitude manner responding with "you're welcome" while laughing and walking away! We were very bothered by this response from staff that we decided to not buy anything and just left. We were out of the store before 8. If you are open till 8 you still need to treat customers with respect until then. Or find another job. I understand that if you close at 8 you close at 8. But we still had plenty of time. This was one of the better stores that I have been to so far. The customer service was pretty good, and the store was clean and well stocked. I felt comfortable spending as much time as I needed in the makeup department, and I left wanting to return again. Not something I can say for the other stores. The reason I didn't give this store 5 stars is because when entering the store some of the women who worked there gave me looks and made me feel like I was being watched and judged. I was greeted hesitantly, and then the employees started talking amongst themselves. Sadly I noticed this is a trend in most Ulta stores. Thankfully there was the sweetest woman working in the high end makeup section who was like a breath of fresh air from all the other stores. She was very happy and down to earth, and even complimented me on how beautiful my makeup looked. She would be the main reason I would consider returning to this store. She was not pushy whatsoever, gave me space to look for however long, yet gently made sure that I was finding everything i needed and was willing to help. The store was well stocked, especially in the high end makeup section (which I have pictures of). They had a lot of palettes that the others don't have in stock, such as the Jaclyn Hill palette. A few brands were missing testers, but did have the actual product right behind it. Every brand had almost their entire line on display, something that is odd for Ulta. Another thing that was surprising to me was that they had almost all of the Organix hair products, whereas other stores only have a few different ones. This Ulta is almost 40 minutes away from my house, but I am willing to travel for the customer service. My experience here was a good one, besides the few judge mental workers (which is to be expected I suppose). So long as I can shop in peace, I'm good. I will definitely be returning! read more

I had shown her how I normally have my hair cut and she did EXACTLY as I asked. I couldn't be more hapoy with what she did. I absolutely love this store! I started going when I found out that they carried Bare Minerals. Then I discovered their salon! Jacob has been a life saver! I don't know what I would do without him! I have gone to other people for the past couple of years trying to get a certain hairstyle back that I had years ago and no one was ever able to understand what I was trying to explain, but he nailed it on the first cut. I went in to Ulta to get my makeup done for a big event. I'm a Dj and when the newspaper will be in your face all day you better look good! My makeup artists name was Brianna and she was amazing!! I told her I wanted dramatic, and fun, and colorful I described my look as "80s punk-rock-pinup-girl" she told me her forte was natural looking makeup but that she was excited for something new. She wasn't afraid to go above and beyond and I'm completely grateful!! I'm totally satisfied with my visit she walked around with me after and helped me pick out the makeup I wanted from our session Ashley helped her grab things too I loved both of their positive attitudes and their willingness to work as a team Justine cashed me out and was cheerful and positive as well the whole staff was amazing I'm only upset that I couldn't catch all their names because they all deserve a shout out!! I would not recommend Ulta to any person wanting a makeup demonstration or wanting to sample the makeup. I would only recommend it as a quick all-in-one source for beauty supplies, but the company left me so furious that I would go out of my way to shop elsewhere rather than support them. Here's why: While there are testers galore, there are insufficient applicators in obscure places. I had to leave the aisle to find them, then go back to the products. There are no cotton balls or lipstick wands or round pads. Also, there is no makeup remover out in the open. Just hand sanitizer. Altogether, this was a nuisance but tolerable. While there were lots of women working at the time, even stocking the shelves around me, and only a few customers in the entire store, none acknowledged my existence until I had already made my way around the entire store and back to the front entrance again -- and that's a lot of ground to cover. This defied customer service ideals but, for me, wasn't a deal breaker; I like to be an independent shopper anyway. The deal breaker: I was going to head out the door, but I thought I'd see how the PurMinerals foundation worked for my complexion. When I asked a sales lady/makeup artist (?) for assistance, she insisted that I had to pay a $30 fee for a makeup demonstration in their "salon." She asked if I was headed to an event. (I clearly wasn't. I was in fat-day jeans and an oversized sweatshirt, with my hair pulled back in a messy pony. I was heading to the grocery store next.) I said no and that I only was curious in the foundation, not a full facial with eyeshadow, etc. She again insisted that I had to pay the fee and said that they don't do makeup demonstrations because it would detract from their salon profits. At this point, I turned and walked out, probably never to return. Ladies, save your time and your hard-earned money. Don't pay a $30 fee for a makeup demonstration. You can go to any major makeup counter at your local department store or to Sephora in Mohegan Sun and get an entire facial for FREE. Moreover, at Sephora there will be ample supplies for you to test the makeup yourself, and the sales clerks actually acknowledge your existence. I'm giving Ulta a 2/5 only because it was clean and there was a wide selection, from low-end brands like Covergirl and Revlon to high-end brands, some of which Sephora does not carry. read more

The Lisbon store certainly lives up, and in most areas exceeds, the Ulta standards that I am used to. It is extremely clean, the staff is knowledgable and friendly. I wanted to get a hair cut and new color on my hair. The stylist was nice but she didn't know what she was doing, she tried to hide my uneven hair cut by curling my hair so I won't notice. I even showed her a picture, it's not rocket science. Seriously, do not go there for any kind of hair cut/coloring. Supposedly she was the master hair stylist, I give one star, go back to school or re teach your stylists to learn how to cut and or color hair. read more

This review Is for the brow bar. I needed my eyebrows shaped & cleaned up a bit. I decided to give the brow bar a chance since they have been recommended a lot. The price of an eyebrow wax was 21. My stylist was Krystal & she really did a wonderful job very detailed & fun to talk to. I took one star off just because I felt like I didn't really need her to put make up on me afterwards next time I'll probably just say it's not necessary. But over all a great place to go to get your eyebrows done. read more

Wow. I was really impressed with this place! The Lisbon Ulta location recently opened- just in time for Christmas shopping! I was a little hesitant at first, thinking that Ulta would only offer high end beauty products and cosmetics, but I was wrong! There was such a great selection and great deals, too! I received a flyer in the mail with a coupon, which brought me to the store, seeking gifts for staff that I supervise, as well as my children's preschool teachers. I could have spent the entire day in there! I love the deals, such as spending $30 or more on fragrance and receiving a free spa robe around Christmas. I also enjoyed the large selection of BareMinerals products, which I had been going directly to the store all the way in West Hartford to purchase. I was at the Lisbon CT Ulta Friday night Sept. 21. Never in my life have I felt more uncomfortable. I was checking out when I assume the manager was being so nasty to both the customer AND her own employee. Saying how the customer can't use her discount on a specific item and how the emoloyeee should know better. She was nasty, and at the end turned to the customer and was like "sorry girl no discount for you today". WTF. And she kept rolling her eyes. I had a great experience here yesterday!!!! Brianna was my aesthetician and was wonderful to work with. She took time to listen to my concerns and recommend products that would work for me. I suffer from hormonal acne and am pregnant, so I have super sensitive skin and am extremely limited on what I can use--no fun! She was very sympathetic to my situation and took her time applying 2 foundations, and a bronzer to see what looked best. She also took time to recommend other products that would work for me after pregnancy. Lastly, Brianna also had me visit Ana (I believe this is her name---I'm sorry if it's not) who was awesome and helped me with finding a all natural treatment for my skin. She also went out of her way to find products that were 100% safe for me to use. Thank you. I purchased the green apple peel blemish clearing peel. (I tried it yesterday and my skin already looks better today ). Even the girl who rang me up was a sweetheart. I am really happy I visited this ULTA, and met people who seemed genuinely happy to help me. I scheduled a prom updo for my granddaughter(her first prom experience) having to come here after hurricane Maria from Puerto Rico, she's shy soft spoken but still managed to get A's and B's during her Senior year! at the time, we were given no instructions as to how to have the hair when she came to the appt. she wanted her hair clean, so she washed it, it was wet when I picked her up and we headed to Ulta where Dennis explained to us that it would be $38 to blow dry it in addition to the $60 updo price; he went and and double checked with his "manager or person in charge, Colleen". The minute she came to explain how they have to charge, because her hair was wet, etc. I said ok we didn't know, my granddaughter wanted to come with clean hair, she proceeded to explain how if it was was unwashed it would be easier, etc. Ok it's not about the extra cost here for me it was how rude and sharp her tone was the whole time she is taking care of us, never a smile, a kind word or anything, but rudeness in her part! From the minute she dealt with us until the minute she gave me the $100.0 dollar slip to pay! I had also inquired about the brow bar proceeded everything is book it's prom night etc. My daughter inquired with one of the other girls who told told her that there was an opening at 11:45. I decided not to do it at the end since I didn't wanna to give them anymore of my business. Dennis, the hairdresser was a very nice man and actually did a great job with my granddaughter's hair. The girls that work there were also very nice, but because of ONE miserable, unfriendly, unkind, that has NO CLUE what CUSTOMER SERVICE IS I personally would never, visit, or recommend that particular location. I own a home in Norwich but live in Wethersfield so I will only visit my regular location where the Customer Service is much better! I also always get names and write reviews being excellent to poor so no this is not my first review in case you were wondering!
