My wife and I came in looking for some nail items and most of the staff was professional and kind however an older associate couldn't help but make rude comments on how old we appeared ( I'm 27 my wife is 24) and we have a two month old, by telling us that we should have waited until we were older, be more responsible and commenting on how she gets her nails done at a much higher quality place than what we were using. Overall just very disappointed that they feel like they could treat anyone this way no matter how we appear. Didn't catch a name but she she was older, had greying brown hair and green nails. Have not been to this location in a while, and will not be back due to a very unpleasant and rude cashier named Sam. I brought in a few items I had purchased within the month to return as 2 did not work for my type of hair, and one I was very allergic to. I did not have my receipt, but that had never been an issue before at any other Ulta, because they can look up your purchases using your phone number. Sam was very irritated that I had no receipt, and also that the products were all used. I assured her that they were only used once, and was told that even used items could still be returned- which is true. This particular cashier was very upset that she had to look through my account and find the items, even though they were the LAST 3 items I had purchased, so it's not like she had to look very far. She mumbled a few times about how I didn't have a receipt and how they "have a 30 day return window", all while talking down to me that I didn't have the "packaging" to a body spray which made it so she couldn't scan a product. The "packaging" was clear cellophane... I'm not sure how I was supposed to leave that on in order to try the product. After griping more about having to give me refund and threatening "store credit", I was able to get my refund and finally get away from her. She was extremely rude and demeaning, and really seemed like she did not want to be helping me at all. If you don't like to be in the business of helping people, maybe you should find a different job! read more

This specific location is the worst. Unhelpful staff, horrible service. Always closes before 8 pm. The other night I was in a crunch before a trip and needed to stop to grab two things, got there at 7:50 (I know, I know, but I knew exactly what a i needed ex and was gonna be in and out) i walked up and the doors were locked and closed 10 minutes before they were actually closed. ridiculous. honor your hours, I could've drove to a different one and been fine, but now I can't. read more

Then, once telling me they didn't carry it, the woman unsympathetically went "sorryyyyyyyy" and just hung up the phone. The Aspen Grove store has never been welcoming to us older women...I thought it was because they hire very young employees. This idea was quickly squashed when I was in last week and saw a couple of older women working on the floor. Yay! Someone who might understand a few wrinkles!! I approached and asked a question (they were very engrossed in their conversation and didn't acknowledge me at first, typical for this store). While I waited I overheard them whispering to each other about a previous customer's hair and outfit, complete with exaggerated hand gestures. I've learned to expect this behavior and attitude from the younger employees (still wrong), but really? This store is closest to my house; I avoid it because the employees ARE RUDE. It's one thing to market to the younger demographic, it's another to insult the rest of us. Shame on whoever's running this store. read more

I had always thought of Ulta as Sephora's poor cousin. The locations I went into seemd focused on drugstore cosmetics, not that I have an issue with that, there are many products I purchase that are drugstore brands. My issue with Ulta was the locations I had been to always seemed under-stocked, dirty and sales associates that were less than helpful. That all changed when I went to the Ulta in Aspen Grove out of necessity. One morning I realized I was out of Philosophy's Purity, the only facial worth a damn in my book. I really didn't want to venture out to Sephora at Cherry Creek or Park Meadows and decided to see who else carried it. To my surprise, the website said Ulta did. I hopped in the car and headed over to Aspen Grove. I discovered this store to be larger, fully stocked of both drugstore and counter cosmetics and a friendly staff ready and eager to help. I also discovered that Ulta carries a lot of the same brands as Sephora; at the same prices. Added plus: parking at Aspen Grove is plentiful. Even when there are a lot of moviegoers at the Alamo Drafthouse. There are still a few things that I can only get at Sephora, like my NARS products. However, when I'm not feeling like dealing with mall traffic, and it's an item I can purchase at Ulta, this location will be my first choice. read more

Unfortunately, I received the worst hair cut of my life at the salon last week. While I was getting my hair cut, the hair dresser was telling me about another customer of hers that was complaining about her hair coloring. I should have been worried at that point, but I felt bad for her more than anything. I realized how bad it was when I got home. The left side was way shorter than the right side and that was just what I could see. When I had it fixed today, the hair stylist couldn't believe how bad it was. I feel bad writing this but this hair dresser is not good. Ulta needs to monitor their stylists because the product they are putting out is almost as bad as a cost cutter type place. My hair is my baby, the center of my universe, my magical unicorn, and my mantra. I can't trust just anyone with these luscious locks. So when I was in desperate need of a haircut, I started to panic at the idea of trying somewhere new. I went to two different salons earlier that week and walked out before making an appointment. If the lady who is going to be doing my hair....has bad hair....I really can't risk that. Last hair cut I had an older lady cut my hair, she literally gave me the same mullet cut that she was rockin' too. I won't make that mistake again. I decided to try a new place and called up ULTA. I've trusted them with my make-up needs so why not try with my hair too? It was super easy to make an appointment and the lady even got me in within an hour of me calling up. It was a pleasant experience from start to finish. Tanya, who did my hair, was great! She had beautiful hair herself, so I knew I was in good hands! She was a great conversationalist and I enjoyed her company. She listened about my hair dilemmas and made some awesome recommendations. Tanya even showed me a couple of cute different hair tricks I could do to spruce up my every day look. The haircut itself turned out fantastic! It was the first time in a while I wasn't sobbing in utter regret after a hair change. I also did the deep conditioning. My hair has been brittle since my new Colorado humidity free lifestyle however after the conditioning treatment my hair is soft and happy again! On top of all of this it only cost me $46 (pre-tip)...that's a great deal! I think it's worth a shot. I'll definitely go back to see Tanya, my new hair BFF, again. One thing I LOVE about Ulta is how we always get samples of new goodies that we fall in love with. I have never been to an Ulta and not gotten a fun, free treat. As we cashed out with Alyssa I asked about some samples. After spending $150 she said, we didn't qualify for any! I said, "really?? We always get a little something." Her response was, " better luck next time!" No Alyssa, there will be no "next time." Ulta is notorious for great customer service and fun free goodies. I've shopped here many, many times before. Service has never been great but today was just laughable. I went in today to buy a gift for each of my bridesmaids. Stephanie was at the counter and was incredibly rude. I had a items to return with two different receipts. According to the receipt, it says that returns after 60 days are subject to merchandise credit. Stephanie immediately makes up her own store policies and says, "We can't do that. You'll have to call corporate to do that." So I drove down here, presented a receipt with policies on it and I don't even get an explanation? Her supervisor on duty comes in and does the partial store credit. I notified the supervisor of my poor experience with Stephanie and that I don't even want to shop here. Her response was, "Well, we tell them they can't do certain things and they get scared." Sounds like terrible management to me. Stephanie wanted me to call corporate. I'll make sure I do to notify them of what a poor customer experience I received. This is why Sephora is ALWAYS crowded and this store is always empty. Worst Ulta I've ever been to. Went in for a return and waited in line for 8 minutes with only two people in line in front of me. There was only one cashier and who didn't know what they were doing and needed help from the lead cashier who was also trying to help someone else. Then when I finally got assistance, the cashier again needed help from the manager who helped every single person while on the way to the cashier. Then I asked them to honor a coupon I had on the app because the app had a glitch and wouldn't take my payment with multiple cards tried for an item I was going to pick up in store anyways. When the manger went to get the product she took my phone with her cause she couldn't remember the name of the product. Then on her way to get the product someone asked for her help and instead of directing the customer to an employee who was available, she proceeded to help them while I continued waiting. Only to find out 5 minutes later that they refused to honor the price in store and suggest I contact customer service for the app issues. There were multiple people just standing around and what was supposed to take 5 minutes took 25 minutes. I will never return to this location and instead go to my normal Ulta in Thornton which I've never had an issue with. read more

I have been coming to this Ulta since it opened. I've always had amazing service . People are always educated in the make up brands, and make up in general. Today was a TOTAL different day. I had a few questions about a particular brand of make up. So i asked for help. She said "give me one second" then stood there staring out the door for 5 minutes to where i had to literally remind her to come help me. I had a few questions about a brand i like and didn't see and THE MANAGER had "no idea" that's what she said to me.... She could have looked it up, maybe to see if her store didn't have it and another one did. Instead it was I just Dont know. I asked if she had any other options and she still couldn't answer any questions. Her answer was " I DON'T KNOW"... Then she walked away and I asked another girl about perfume and she said "well I cant help you because I'm off work" however she is running around the store putting product up talking to her team mates but she's not working?? What I saw today was a bunch of uneducated KIDS running a store full of expensive make up and they acted as they were at the playground. MANAGEMENT MUST CHANGE! One or two friendly employees, out of a pile of poor advice and rudness. I gave a hairstylist a compliment. She obviously took it wrong, heard her from middle of the store talking about me. It was not nice, so I returned to the back of the store. Still standing there, she said to use violet toner for orange tones and was very unpleasant. Not the first time I've gotten attitude from these people, I cannot imagine working with such a group of women, yuk. Thanks for nothing, I will youtube it and skip the attitude, believe me, I can check a color wheel and decide on a developer for my needs. It's not rocket science, coloring hair. Also, I'll buy my products from department stores, the people there have a personality. They say,"Thanks." Some even act as if they enjoy working. read more

I used to go to this Ulta to get my eyebrows done and they did a great job. I moved out of state and came back so thought I would try this Ulta again. The person I went to was rude when I first arrived but she warmed up after a few minutes. She took about 5 minutes to do my eye brows for $22 which normally I can justify with benefit but this lady was terrible and made them uneven and I didn't ask her to even them out because they were too thin already. She also didn't put cooling gel on them so I left with red eye brows. I also told her I was on my way to an interview so I went to my interview with uneven eye brows. Also, customer service has gone down hill at this store. I will be looking for a new Ulta even if I have to drive further. read more

I have shopped at this location for a long time and every single time I go in there the employees are so rude! They never smile or act like they want to help you. I could hear them gossiping with eachother about another customer who was shopping in the store when I was standing there. I felt very uncomfortable. There were multiple employees behind the counter and hardly any customers shopping in there, and they act like you are bothering them when you need to check out. They obviously hate their jobs there. I just needed to say something because that is such a bad feeling to spend so much money at Ulta only to have these employees treat customers this way. I used to go to the Park Meadows Ulta and everyone is always very friendly and attentive there, I will not be going back to the Ulta at Aspen Grove ever again. read more

I brought my 2 girls in today for kids cuts. When I booked on the phone Tiffany confirmed that my girls were under 12, and went ahead and scheduled me with the master stylist who was the only one with openings. After the cuts were done, the stylist told me it was actually 10 and under, not 12 and under that qualified as kids. My oldest daughter's $25 trim instantly turned into $60. It wouldn't have been as bad if I had that expectation from the start, but I was unimpressed that after everything was done that the price more than doubled. When I went to check out, the girl actually remembered me from taking my call and scheduling my appointment. I told her of the age difference and she apologized and admitted fault for it, she thought it was 12 and under, not 10 and under. That does not fix the fact that I paid more than double for a child's trim than even the girl at the front thought was correct. read more

I like the the quality of most of the products in store, but the attitude of the workers makes me not even bother stepping in. They are extremely judgmental, not helpful, and either follow me around the store, lurking as if I´m going to steal something, or are just no where to be found. I got home from a trip to Ulta with a friend and balled my eyes out. I may just be overly emotional, but I don´t think putting people down when they are buying things at your store is okay. I'm apprehensive to say the least when it comes to finding a new stylist because I've gotten some really bad cuts in the past (we've all been there). I wait until the last possible minute to go and by the time I finally pick someone my hair is pretty much a disaster. I've been shopping with Ulta off and on for awhile but never tried their salon. I received a coupon for a haircut and finally decided to give it a try. Let me tell you - I've been nothing but impressed. And I don't impress easily. Marie is fantastic, easy to talk to, and does an incredible job. I am constantly getting complements on my hair cut and I recently had Marie do my color too. My hair is very difficult to color and she spent as much time working at it as needed to get it to what I was wanting. The cut she did fits my face well and is very flattering, and the color is gorgeous. I highly recommend working with Marie if you're looking for someone. She's fantastic and I definitely recommend her. The store is pleasant and well stocked and the salon is always clean and tidy. Overall, this is a great location. read more

This is a step above great clips. Regarding color services, it's good if you know exactly what color you want your hair to be, but don't expect any real help if you aren't sure. My stylist knew how to apply a simple solid color but I certainly didn't get quite the color I wanted. I said it's WAAAY darker than I had and the stylist said No its not. I think I know what color my hair was. I could have bought a box at Walgreens and had the same result for a fraction of the price. I was so upset that my bf is gonna pay for me to get it fixed somewhere else. Little details like cleaning the stray dye off my face would have been nice. This salon is bare bones service and overpriced. I told my stylist no, I don't want to schedule my next visit so she scheduled 2 more visits. Live and learn. There are a ton of salons in the area, don't make the same mistake I did. I will say the cut I got - a basic trim and a few layers - is fine. read more

Customer service was pretty terrible today. I had bought a Smashbox Always Sharp eyeliner a few months ago but after only using it a handful of times the entire eyeliner cracked off. I brought it in to exchange it because it was clearly defective, I've never had this problem with this particular type of eyeliner before, but since it has been over 60 days and I didn't have a receipt,they wouldn't exchange it. You should stand behind your products and if they end up being defective you should exchange them or do something to make it right. That eyeliner is $22, a little expensive to just break after a few uses. I would never treat my customers that way where I work. read more
