I had a groupon. I went in to see Megan for hair root touch up, deep conditioning and hair cut. She started my hair but had over booked my appt. She told me 40 mins to process. Didn't see her for the next hour and a half. She finally came back, put conditioner n for 6 mins and cut hair. I mentioned my hair felt dry. She stated that process was over in 40mins. I asked her why she didn't remove it or check it. She replied that the other customer was paying full price and I didn't have to come back. Very unprofessional read more

I would like to report Southwest Nails for making a false statement about my review of their company First off, when I made the appointment, I was told that there is a 24 hour cancellation policy, I was not told that there is a fee. When I checked their company website, the cancellation policy is the last thing stated on their page. It was not on the Groupon itself. I was informed of the fee when I called to RE-schedule my canceled appointment. When I made the appointment I had a gut feeling that they would use the holiday as a way to get out of any cancelations that would occur. The receptionist said to leave a message on the voicemail, since 24 hours in advance was a holiday. I DID call and leave a voicemail and I have a screenshot of the day and time that I called. I DID NOT SAY I HAD COVID!! I said they do not practice safety protocol by forcing a sick customer to keep their appointment. I did say I was sick, I never specified my illness. I have been to this facility before and the Owner was rude then. Rude to her employees and her clients. I chose the Groupon to see if the status had changed, and to assist a local Littleton business. I have a nail salon I go to, but like I stated, I wanted to give them another try. I also did not scream and yell, but I did tell her to F*&^ Off. Very calmly I might add. There isn't any reason to yell it. It is a strong statement on its own. It is amazing that this place is still in business. I wonder how high their turnover is? I will stand by what I said. Good price, good service, cute atmosphere. Manicure was only $15 and included arm massage & exfoliation treatment. Don't be late or a no show for your apointment. Not only will they talk mad trash about you till you show up, they'll charge you $20 for being a no-show or showing up so late that they have another appointment. However, the risk of being a walk in is that they are always busy. I had to come back 45min after walking in and then waited about another 20min when I came back. But, the ladies are nice, they have a super cute room for the pedicures that is spa-like and they'll spend as much time as they need to on you (they won't rush you to get to the next appointment). I bought a Groupon to get my haircut from this salon and have been unsuccessful in getting it set up. I called several times and left messages that didn't seem to get returned. Finally out of, I don't know how many calls, I finally get a hold of someone.Mind you, it has been close to two weeks just to hear back from someone! Can you say frustrating! I get the person's personal phone number and leave a detailed message to what I want and STILL NOTHING! I call again trying to give them the benefit of the doubt and nothing. Finally, I left a text message asking if I should take my business elsewhere and that seemed to get a response. I just feel at this point, I am tired of this gruff customer service. I am trying to refund my Groupon. I am sorry but there needs to be some sense of professionalism where you return calls, especially in a cliental business. Trina S. Is the sweetest lady you could possibly meet at this salon. She has a very genuine demeanor about her and is very responsive to her customer's needs. She responded the same day about my review and fixed my nails in time for my vacation. They look BEAUTIFUL!!! They look ten times better than before! I am very happy that she took care of me at such a short notice and she even gave me shellac for free for the trouble and so that they would stay beautiful during my two week vacation. I get my nails done every 3 weeks or so on a regular basis for the past 10 years and a pedicure every 4-5 weeks. Well this was by far one of the worst Mani/Pedi's I have received. Here is the explanation: I took my 10 year old niece to get her 1st professional pedicure. The salon immediately had an appointment on a Saturday for a 1pm for 2 people. Great - Glad they were open They received 1 star for Personality of the two ladies and the level of customer service. They were very nice, very polite and accommodating. (Amanda & Lisa) They lost a star on the Pedicure station. It was at first a neat scenario - A closet with raised benches that you had to step up onto. (My mother would have tumbled over - it was not very comfortable to sit on - but the ergonomics for the gals giving the pedicure was something to consider. They gave my niece a foot mask but not me? My foot really needed a good pumice and I barely received a scrub. My cuticles needed some love and attention and it was mediocre at best. After looking at my niece's feet after we left I was even more disappointed. Plus there was practically no foot massage. I spent 5 minutes with a towel at the tops of my feet while they cleaned up to close for the day. (2pm on a sat???) The manicure on my niece done by Amanda was done well however mine was horrendous. I am not sure if it was because she didn't want to get her own acrylic nails messed up but not only were tons of cuticles untouched - the polish job was half A$$. The polish bubbled and chipped by the end of the evening. I used two $40 coupons from the website - which in my book is about for a mani/pedi however not worth the $58 they normally charge. Then since they don't take credit cards - which is fine! I had to pay for both in 2 separate checks which was a little bit of an annoyance but not that big of a deal. The salon is quaint, great light. Way too much jewlery around to sell... But good prices.. This was a nail salon right? I had a Groupon for mani/pedi (hadn't read the reviews, luckily, I wouldn't have bought it) and it was great! Trina took excellent care of me, everyone was super friendly and there were multiple repeat clients having services done while I was there. I didn't realize they were a full service salon and they had someone come back last minute to do a brow wax when I asked if I could add it on. I posted a Review last week and I find it disturbing that Yelp took it down.. I have been to many shops and this one has them all beat, The atmosphere is friendly and family orientated. This was a MAJOR disappointment!!! I went to Southwest Nails with my mother to get ready for my wedding, neither one of us had a mani/pedi before but thought we would for the wedding. When we got there, it turned out that there was a special going on and everyone seemed to be busy. Even though we had called and made an appointment in advance we still had to wait while they finished up. While we waited I could hear the women complain about how they were overbooked. When my mother finally had someone open up, she was new and very nice to my mother (I would have given this place a four star if was just for her). The women that was helping me kept complaining about how many people were booked and how she was even DOUBLE BOOKED for the time I was schedualed (Even though the other person never showed up she kept brining up). She also kept complaining how she didn't get to eat lunch. The pedicure station was very disappointing it felt like we were put into a little closet with a large stair which you sat on and it wasn't very comfortable. The woman that was working with my mom gave her a foot mask but I never received one!!! My cuticles on my feet desperately attention but the women hardly did anything and never trimmed the , very poor. The women with my mother did scrub her feet and really worked to give a foot massage, which I didn't receive unless putting lotion on my feet for about 30 seconds counts . The women working with my kept leaving to eat pizza; when my feet were soaking, after adding lotion to my feet and then with a towel on my feet for about 5 minutes. When I started on the manicure the women was trying to do the gel manicure when I had called in advance when I had scheduled the appointment for acrylic. I had to keep asking her because she kept refusing claiming she was overbooked and didn't have the time. When I left it looked good but by the end of the day I realized because she never took care of my cuticals and the acrylic did not go all the way down my nail. I was afraid that I was just nitpicking because this was for my WEDDING but after I had time to think, over a month I have still been VERY disappointed with the costumer service I received, and my maids of hounor were with me, although not getting a mani/pedi and they agreed it was poor service. Overall I do think it depends on who you get, because I am still pleased with my mother's service. But because I was the bride and they knew this and still treated me this way I know they don't care who you are just or why you are there just about their own personal wants. read more

Overall experience was disappointing!!! The ladies were very nice however I was trying out this new salon for an awesome pedicure treat. I will not be back! I was upgraded to the shellac for $21!!! On top of the groupon $35 that was $56 total. I can go anywhere and get a mani pedi with shellac for less. Worst part about experience was the complete lack of any massage on both the Mani and pedi. That is the whole point! To relax and get rubbed on your hard working hands and feet. I got a smear of lotion rubbed on my hands for 10 seconds and was told to move on. When I called to make an appointment the girl that answered the phone was very friendly. We made my appointment for a few days out because I have a weird work schedule. I was getting a mani/pedi and I wanted shellac on my fingernails. So I show up for the appointment and wait about 10 minutes for the lady to finish up her phone call. she takes me back to this little closet size room that was a cute idea but the bench you sit on was ridiculously uncomfortable. So the actual pedicure is something I could've done better at home. she filed my toe nails then slathered some oil all over wrapped my feet in a towel and then came back painted my toes and then put my flip flops on me. the oil she put on my feet ruined my flip flops. There was no massage during my pedicure which is my favorite part of the experience. I don't usually get manicures because I do them at home but I figured since shellac lasts 2 weeks I should get everything looking nice so it would last. once again disappointed with the manicure she filed my nails put some lotion on me and that was it no soaking, no cuticle trim, no massage. I requested a french manicure shellac after she was done i looked at them and the lines were crooked and it was lumpy and bubbly and it looked like a 5 year old had done it. The next day the shellac that i paid extra for peeled right off. I guess that was a blessing in disguise because it looked so bad. Then I go to pay using a mastercard gift card i received for Christmas, SURPRISE, they only take cash or check! I wish they would've told me that on the phone. I really wished it would've been a great experience because I LOVE supporting local American companies but I would rather take my money to a nail place where no one speaks English because I know they will do a better job. read more

The full set I got was the worst I have ever had and when they had me come back so they could fix it, I was given the cold shoulder and they didn't even fix it. I made the unfortunate mistake of going to Southwest Nails this weekend. The shop is cute, but tiny. My manicurist was chatty to a fault. Specifically taking and making personal calls during my appointment. The shop is small, so I can understand answering the phone to help customers out, but actually making calls while working with a client is increadibly unprofessional. When she wasn't using the phone, she was heavily engaged in discussions with other staff about how awful the competition (Fancy Fingers) was and even went on to encourage the customer to "go to the Asians" before you go to FF. I found this really rure, considering the staff had no idea the background or cultural makeup of the me or my family. The pedicure and manicure were sub-par at best. I needed a good scrub and cuticle trim but what I got was a soak and a lot of oil on my feet. The mani was actually worse becasue the lady actually forgot to clean and trim my left hand. My friends asked why i didn't point it out, but honestly I just wanted to get out of there. I orginally asked for a french manicure, but after over an hour waiting for my pedi to finish I wasn't going to waste another hour there waiting for a french manicure. Within 2 days the polish has bubbled and chipped. When I went to pay, the staff had no change (who doesn't have change for their opening client?) I have found out from other reviews that they don't take credit, so thank goodness I had some money on me, then again... Overall I was completely unhappy and will not return to this location. If you are looking for a quality nail salon experience wher you will feel pampered and come out feeling like you look great, then I would NOT suggest this location at all. If you are looking to spend a couple hours looking at jewelry, and listening to staff chat about their plans and random gossip then this is exactly the place for you!!!! read more

Went in for a first time pedicure and was shocked to see a dog in the middle of the salon. When I inquired about the dog I was told that nail tech is allowed to bring in her dog while she works, because she hates to leave him home alone. I found this to be quite unsanitary as the pee pad and toys were right there with the dog in the middle of the floor!!!! I am a dog lover,however, I do not think that a nail salon is any place for a dog just because the owner does not like to leave it home alone. I had really wanted to try this place because it has been around for a long time and it's a small business that I wouldn't have to worry about the nail techs talking about me in another language. I show up tell the lady I am there for a manicure/pedicure and I wanted to try the new shellac polish on my fingers. So I wait for about 10 minutes to get set up in the pedicure area. It was a cute set up in a little closet off to the side but I was a little sad there was no massaging chair. So onto the pedicure, this is one of my favorite things to treat myself to occasionally when I can. Well I was left there for 15 minutes for my feet to soak, then she made a half-assed attempt to push back my cuticiles, I'm kinda lazy sometimes so I knew my cuticles needed a lot of work. Then onto my favorite part of the pedicure, THE MASSAGE! well i guess a massage to her was to put some oil on my feet and ankles and then throw a towel over them and let me sit there for another 10 minutes, finally she came back then did a sloppy paint job on my toes. She made me put my sandals back on and the oil she had put on my feet stained them :( On to the manicure... or lack of manicure. Once again I knew my cuticles needed some TLC, i work with animals so I wash my hands 10+ times a day they get dry and don't get the attention they need. there was no soaking of my nails just a quick filing and another half ass attempt to push my cuticles back, i think she did a scrub on my hands then I went and washed them and came back ready for my shellac. Well I wanted a french manicure because I didn't think I could committ to a polish color for 2 weeks. I was expecting an outstanding job so she is doing it and I didn't look at them until we were done but there were bubbles in the polish the lines were uneven and it was covering my cuticles. She was trying to hurry up so she could eat lunch and so another nail tech could do her nails. I would've been okay if she would've just said she didn't have time to do it. Anyway the shellac that is supposed to last AT LEAST a week to 2 weeks started chipping the next day and I was able to peel it off easier than regular nail polish. My hard earned cash went right down the drain :( I guess at least they were friendly-ish. read more

You get what you pay for (and less). I purchased a groupon thinking for $35 for a spa mani/pedi you should get a decent nail trim and polish. The groupon stated it included a shellac polish (apparently that is misleading) you get the basic opi polish. The polish started coming off on day 2. The owner sat in her station yacking on the phone and eating. She ought to learn how to chew with her mouth shut. If you liked Groundhog Day make sure you get Mollie. She kept repeating the same questions and stories over and over. After the 3rd time I started giving her different answer to get a little variety in the discussion. As another review stated, no hand or foot massage. From one of the other reviewers being charged for being late - apparently it is ok for the technicians to be late (but they don't compensate the waiting clients). I have had many people recommend this place so when I found the Groupon I was excited to try it. I scheduled through Groupon and had to cancel through then as well. Apparently there were issues and the salon didn't get notified of my cancellation. Not their fault, and I got rescheduled. I did go in today and was pretty disappointed in the manicure I received. Not only did I have to hear about how much I inconvenienced my nail technician numerous times due to my previous cancellation, but I had to ask to have my cuticles removed again after polish because nothing had been done. When I asked for an ombré polish, she said she had no idea how something like that would be done. I picked a regular color. I basically paid to have my nails polished with gel and some sugar scrub on my hands. I'm glad it was a Groupon because I would never have paid full price for the quality of work I received. I am glad there are many people who have a great experience here, and not every business is perfect. Maybe I just got caught in a bad situation or I was a tough customer, but I still don't think the quality was there. read more

I received a Groupon for my bday for this place. I've never been there previously nor had I read any reviews. I was excited to try a new salon where I could actually carry on a conversation with my nail tech. Jennifer was a pleasure, very friendly and professional. We began with the pedi and all was going well until the owner came bursting in and was a frazzled mess. Apparently she was having a bad day and EVERYONE had to hear about it. She never stopped complaining the whole time I was there. I'm sorry but in an industry where competition is fierce you need to stand apart from the run of the mill nail salons that are in every strip mall. For the prices that were posted I would expect a top notch experience. They charge $26ish for an Acrylic rebase where other salons charge $16-$18. I wouldn't mind paying extra if I knew that it would be more of a "spa" like experience. I don't get pedicures often so I was disappointed that her bad day ruined my once in a while treat. Having said all this I do want to say Jennifer was very pleasant. I wonder how much business is being kept away from this great nail tech because of the stressful environment that the owner creates??? I will stick to the "run of the mill" nail salon, at least I know what to expect there. read more

I got an eyebrow wax here and I am super impressed with the technician. She was so sweet, and made me feel like I wasn't getting the same thing done as every single person who walked in. The waxing room is great, it's soundproof so you don't hear the hair dryers and the room is a peaceful place to relax as much as possible while getting your hair ripped out. I have been to plenty of places in Boulder that are "the best" but Lousia (not sure if I spelled that correctly) did a fantastic job. Normally after I leave a waxing my area that I got waxed is neon red but here she put some calming solution on my skin and presto no neon red skin! Lousia is fantastic!!!! read more

I went to Southwest Salon for the first time last night. I needed a style and color in a really bad way. I LOVE the positive aura in the salon, I was greeted even before the door closed. The nail tech guided me to the hair salon area and I hadn't even sat down yet before the hair stylist greeted me. I was very impressed with the high energy, positive vibes, and the complimentary attitudes of the staff there. Absolutely NO complaints and will definitely go back. I think I found my new "place" for hair. Jacinda is truly the best. (Hair color and cut were discussed, she gave great advice after hearing how I do my hair, my lifestyle, etc and after going with her recommendations, did NOT leave disappointed. Lisa is attentive to my nails and I love the sugar scrub she puts on my hands afterward. I have read the latest reviews, and they are pretty negative. The pedicure station has been completely remodeled, and nice new massage chairs are in place. I will try a pedicure soon. Lisa has made sure that I am happy with my service each time. I also do not like using a scrub brush on my nails that others use, so I don't use it. Perhaps the salon could have several clean scrub brushes so that each client is using their own brush. I do hope that happy customers will give this salon a positive, honest review. read more
