Used to come to this location all the time. I'm a platinum member and have spent SO much money here. I visited recently with my baby and was made to move out of the way when I was actively looking at an item I wanted to buy just because that associate was helping somebody instead of just finding a different way around considering they didn't even stop in the aisle I was in. Then I was followed around the store by another associate like she thought I was going to steal something? It wasn't even discreet. I spent close to $200 on that one visit I don't deserve to be treated that way. Ridiculous. I would much rather go to the West Babylon location where the associates are way more pleasant. read more

Went there this weekend saw a Mac lipstick that I liked. I asked 2 associates that were chatting if I can get some help in the Mac section, they said yes. I waited and waited then left. This is one of my favorite spots for everything beauty in this area. Whether you are looking to buy makeup, to get your brows done, or even to go to the salon. I've been to the salon before for a blowout in the area and have had great experiences. My experiences at the brow bar have been positive as well. I've had great experiences with many of the people who work here when it comes to product recommendations. I just can't say enough wonderful things about the staff here, especially the salon manager, JT. I've been getting my hair cut and styled by JT for years now, and I would never go anywhere else. I drive all the way from Staten Island just for her! They always try to accommodate my crazy law enforcement officer schedule and that is much appreciated. You won't get ignored here either. The stylists are always helping each other get things done so you aren't sitting around waiting to be shampooed. If you want multiple opinions on hair styles, cuts or colors, the girls working there always offer suggestions and bounce ideas off one another. Myself, my sister, and grandmother come to this Ulta location frequently. We spend hundreds of dollars in this store. Each time we check out with the cashier, Jessica, we are greeted with an unhappy, unpleasant demeanor. This is the THIRD TIME I've witnessed this behavior and it makes my poor grandma feel bad every time we leave the store. This is horrible. Like so many other reviews on here, this location is full of rude unprofessional staff. No one wants to help you. I saw many employees in clusters talking about their personal lives and complaining about working. Coley is my favorite associate. Each visit I make, she takes painstaking care to ensure I'm satisfied with each purchase, and always spends a lot of time with me. Me and my friends walked into Ulta mulitple minutes before close just to walk around for a minute. The second we walked in we were rudely approached by a few workers. There was no hello only a "we are closing in 5" after we were rudely told to walk around the door sensors. The space was narrow and we had to walk in a single file line out the door avoiding the sensor machine. One of my not so small sized friend was extremely uncomfortable and felt this was a form of inconsiderate body shaming. So much for international woman's month? While my friend was uncomfortably squeezing through the sensors, the workers one named Leanna and one who seemed to be a manager continued to speak to us as if we were the scum of the earth. We do not mean to cause any disruption with this review, while on the other hand there was clearly no concern to not disrupt our evening. Just unsure why the attitude was necessary when we were just in the store not bothering anyone for a few moments. read more

This one star is solely for the great range of products in the store. I went after work to get new foundation, concealer, powder, primer and setting spray. There were several employees in the vicinity of the brand sections I went to however I was treated like I was invisible the whole time listening to them greet and assist other customers. I went about my business swatching/testing everything myself and kindly walked out of that dreadful place because this BROWN girl has no problem driving an extra 20 mins to Sephora to spend her money! This is one of the best Ultas because of your product selection and beauty consultant! One of the Sales Managers, Coley did such a fantastic job matching my skin tone and complexion with the right foundation and concealer colors. She listened to my needs and answered all of my questions regarding my current skin care regime! We basically walked around the whole store sampling and looking at options for everything I asked about! She was so knowledgeable! Most of the staff is friendly. Typically some of the cashiers aren't AS friendly but I like going there! Even if the store is crowded it is big enough to not feel like you are shopping on top of people! I hope to try out their facials soon and maybe their salon as I have heard great things! read more

In shock at the return policy for this location/ company. First time visiting this store. I spent a few hundred dollars at the time of my visit with the help of an associate. When I arrived home, I did my research on the products, I purchased, and was not happy with a few of the reviews I decided to return 3 items. (Purchased 2 days prior). I could not find my receipt and knew I would probably only receive a store credit. I went back to the store 2 days later with my items. I spoke to the sales associate who informed me they can give me a credit for the store which I was fine with knowing it was my fault for not having my receipt, BUT it would be not for the price I paid for the items but the price the items were last purchased by a Ulta customer. I asked her to explain since this was my first time in this store. She asked her manager to talk with me. The manager proceeded to tell me one of the items I purchased for $18 she could give me back $1.30 and the other items same . I laughed at her and asked her what on earth is she talking about. I had my credit card and you could clearly tell the items were not used.When I purchased these items, I was never told this insane policy existed, .Matter of fact, day of purchase all I was listening to was the cashier telling her co-worker she could not wait to get out this place and how she hates her job. So my return items that totaled over $60 my credit would be for $3.75. I will never ever shop in this store again, You can buy on line cheaper not be treated with such disrespect. read more

No one greeted me as I walked into the store or shopped. All the employees were just huddled together talking about their weekend plans and personal lives. Even walking past them on multiple occasions not one of them spoke a word to me, they just glared and kept on talking. It wasn't until I walked through an isle on the second pass, I was asked if I needed help but their was no eye contact, just a quick blurb and went back to doing her own thing. I like the layout of the store and some areas (heat tools) are really extensive, but then the other half of the store is more drugstore-like. In general, the store is a bit messy between things on the floor, empty shelves and items being mixed up on the shelves. The samples are way overused and look kind of dirty and there is'nt really an organized way to navigate. (Ulta in hempstead is much better). There is no one on the floor to help (I roamed for about an hour and passed one person working there that avoided eye contact at all costs). In general, I'm a huge Ulta fan but this is the worst location that I've been to at this time and i'm really surprised. read more

I had an awesome experience at the salon at Ulta in Massapequa. I can't stop raving about the wonderful haircut I received from Michelle and how pleased I was with the service. She was understanding of my needs, worked with my hair type to achieve a style similar to a photo I had in mind, was so down to earth and easy to talk to and gave me tips on how to style my hair at home to get the same look. Especially for the price, I'm so over the moon happy with how my hair looks and that I was able to make an appointment same day. Can't wait to return in a few months! read more

Rosie is the best. She gave me flawless curls. Another girl with rainbow hair did my daughters hair and gave her curls without flat ironing it. Needless to say, her hair frizzed up as soon as we left. Waste of money. The girl even knew she did a terrible job because when my daughter wanted her to take a picture of the style she said "We only do that sometimes." I have been a customer at the salon for years now. Their pricing structure is so unfair! The hair dresser move up the line and their prices go up. Apparently if they book your next appointment they get rated on that., When i didn't want to rebook my next appointment the hair dresser told me I will put you in so get a good rating , and I will cancel you out tomorrow . I have seen girls rebook people even though they dont want it. Their rating go up this way and the price you pay to go to them goes up. I could not get an appointment with my regular hair dresser who new and therefore least expensive. They said i could get an appointment with their master hair dresser who is the most expensive. The master hair dresser was $20 more! and she used my regular formula. It is hard to get appointments because they put people in and take up that space.. read more

Just walked in to ulta to pick up a bareminerals product I use on a daily basis. I found a coupon online for $3.50 off of a $10 purchase and was ready to use it. When I got to the register, the gentleman said this was an excluded brand and the coupon wasn't valid. Although not his fault, I find it absurd that they have a list of over 50 excluded brands for this coupon. See picture attached of the excluded brands. Also, while waiting in a line 6 customers deep, multiple employees pretended they were working by picking up products and placing them back in the same spot while one gentleman was trying to clear the line. If I could give this salon zero stars I would. I wanted a simple bouncy blow out for a wedding. The girl (I can't remember her name unfortunately) talked me into, instead just taking the curling iron to my hair. Not only did my hair come out awful, the girl doing my hair was to busy talking about leaving Ulta and starting a career change. My 4 year old niece could have done a better job. Salon is pricey and service is mediocre if your hair isn't pin straight. I was told that they are trained in all hair types, but didn't find this to be the case. The girls that work here are awesome! I was rushing around the day before vacation when I realized I forgot to pick up a few of my favorite beauty products. I called the store and spoke to an employee who was more than helpful! She was able to pick out the few items I was looking for and left them behind the counter. My mom was going to be the one picking up the order and I didn't want her to pick out the wrong items. I wish I had gotten the employees name but she was more than happy to help me!
