I went to Natalia at Ulta for a haircut and unfortunately had a really disappointing experience. I specifically asked to keep the length and make it look feminine, and she even showed me a reference picture beforehand. The final result looked nothing like what we discussed and ended up much shorter and more masculine than I wanted. What made the experience worse was that she complained almost the entire appointment about how Ulta was "beneath her." As a paying customer, I don't think anyone goes in to relax and spend money just to listen to nonstop negativity and complaints throughout the service. I'm usually the kind of person who says, "it'll grow out," but this was upsetting because I was very clear about what I wanted, and it felt like I wasn't listened to at all. read more

Shannon charges the highest amount as an Elite stylist for hair coloring, cutting, styling, etc., but then she doesn't even do the service. She has her assistant do it, who is NOT at Elite level, but you get charged for an Elite stylist. And it wasn't even colored right! What a rip off! Not going there anymore!!!!! read more

The absolute worst, Ulta location. The customer service is beyond lacking. My husband and son purchased two different, Tula kits as gifts for me. This is the only product that I use, so I took them to exchange them for full size products. Upon arrival to the store, I went straight to the service desk to let them know that I'd be exchanging these products for the full size products. The girl told me to go and get my products and come back for the exchange. I told her that I would, but my husband and son paid full price, so I requested that she ring them up prior to me doing so. She became agitated and told me to go and get my products and come back, I asked her to check the price again. She did, one rang up $49.00, the other, $59.00. I go to find what I need, go back to the counter and am told that they can't exchange without the receipt. I told the guy beside the girl that just told me how to handle the exchange what she said, however, he was adamant that he wasn't going to process this return for me. At this time, I requested the manager. She heard the conversation between the guy and myself, due to her being right behind him. She proceeded to process the return, at this point one item rang up for $10.00, the other around, $15.00. To my disappointment, I asked her why I was just told the figures when I walked into the store, now, at this time there is such a big discrepancy. She said without the receipt, they ring it up as a gift. So, why the big difference, it's as if they are stealing from their customers this way. Thankfully, I called my husband, he told me what phone number to use. The phone number showed the full price, so they had to honor it. This brand is NEVER on sale, the manager even stated so herself. As the manager, Janiya, was getting this corrected, the two employees beside her were talking about the situation amongst themselves and to their customers After the return was completed, my daughter was in line with items to purchase, at that time, it was noticed that all three of the employees were discussing the situation that had taken place. This is extremely rude and so very unprofessional of a manager and her employees. If you need to visit, Ulta and live in the area. I suggest that you visit, Shallotte or Myrtle Beach. read more

I went in today to grab a medium coverage foundation. I know almost nothing about make up so walking in here I was clueless as to what I needed. This really nice guy ,with awesome yellow hair might I add, asked me if I needed help and of course I did. He was so helpful and found me the perfect product shade and everything. I browsed the store before I left and it was so nice and organized. A few more associates asked me along the way through the store if I needed help. I booked an 11am appointment for a multi dimensional color on 8/8/22. I arrived 5 min early and the stylist told me she needed 20 more minutes to finish a color on another client and that I could shop or wait in the chair. At 1130am she started on my hair. I told her I wanted dark roots and light ends and showed her a picture. She said okay and proceeded with my hair color. By 2pm she was ready to dry my hair, but had another client show up. She put me under a dryer stating that she had carpel tunnel and my hair was to thick to blow dry with a hair dryer alone. She kept me under the dryer for 30 minutes while she cut the other clients hair. When she finished she blew dry my hair. The color did come out nice but did not have the effect I was looking for. To top it I got the bill, I was expecting about $85 which was the cost for multi dimensional color when I booked. I was surprised to see that I was charged for the multi color and then another $119 for full highlights that I did not ask for or was not told about. Very disappointed and felt a bit deceived. read more

Had an appt to get my eyebrows tinted. Was originally scheduled for 12:30pm. Got a call and was asked if I could reschedule for a 6:00pm appt instead. I agreed and my appt was changed. When I showed up to my appt at 6, I was told that I was not on the schedule. I asked if she could work me in and she said "nope, I will go into overtime. Sorry." No one else was there to help me or they were unwilling to. If Ulta really cares this little about they're customers and believes they can just move peoples appts around and then cancel without telling them. Absolutely ridiculous. Especially considering how much I shop there. Will be a customer of Sephora from here on out read more

I shop at this location all the time spend tons of money in this store! So I got a coupon in the mail for a free matte lip anyways I sent my 15 year old niece in there to get it, the manager ERICA assisted her, my niece came back to the car said the lady was rude to her so I went back in the store to see what was going on. Long story short I saw the lip thing realized it was a pencil so I put it back and I left. As I'm driving away they come running out of the store hollering and screaming so I stop my car and got out went inside. ERICA then proceeded to accuse me of stealing it. I told her I didn't take anything to go and check her cameras. Then she kept insisting that I took it and it escalated almost into an altercation but I left !!! I'm going back tomorrow to speak with her supervisor and hopefully this can be resolved or they are certainly going to have a lawsuit! read more

My fiancé called this location to book a eyebrow appointment with the benefit brow bar for our upcoming wedding. The employee took all of her information and confirmed a appointment for 4pm that same day. Upon arrival we found out that they booked our appointment with the salon section instead for 430pm. It might not sound like much but my fiancé gets her eyebrows done at the Benefit Brow Bar because of the expert training they receive. But the real upsetting part was the store's nonchalant response to their own mistake. You would expect a company to have more empathy for wasting their customers time. Obviously we won't be going to this location again. read more

Store is under new management and finally a staff that loves what they do. The salon is also under new management and is finally getting staffed with great stylist. They also have a skin therapist for the skin bar to receive facials. I think anyone who rated so low should at least come check it out and allow them to make sure you have a better experience. read more

Do not let them touch your eyebrows! The brow "expert" was leaning on the counter, working on my daughter's eyebrows with one hand. She waxed off a good portion of one eyebrow. She filled it in to cover up the mistake. We paid for it and didn't notice until after we left the store. The associate that checked us out was rude. We can all have a bad day, but being rude to customers is unacceptable. I'm going to Sephora today to get help with those brows! read more

After nine hours total in the chair between Amy and the manager I left with stripes, bleeds, and over processed broken hair. Some of my hair was broken off up to my eyebrows. I had went from blonde to an ombré over fall/winter to grow out and improve my hairs health. I left with extremely dark brown hair and brassy blonde covered with a silver/gray toner. Far from the mostly blonde balayage I desired. Although the team was very nice and they tried their best to make things right it was very disappointing and more expensive to fix after leaving. Not to mention now I have to try to strengthen the integrity of my hair all over again. read more

Had an appointment booked for 3pm. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told by the stylist that she still had to blow dry and style her clients hair and to give her another 15-20 minutes. After almost an hour of waiting, she still wasn't finished. By that point I was fed up and left as I had planned my day around this hair appointment and had other things to do. It's bad enough to not keep your appointment times, but it's just unacceptable to blatantly lie like that as she knew it would take her way longer than 15 minutes to finish. I had the best experience here! An associate named Paige, from New York City, approached me and asked me if I needed any help. I've recently had surgery for a dog bite to my face and am really uncomfortable with the way I look now. I told her about my struggle and interest in a foundation. She listened to me and suggested several wonderful products. She asked me questions to identify exactly what I needed. She was so genuine and helpful. She spent so much time with me and helped me find several products and I love them all!! I am so happy with everything I bought and I'm extremely grateful for Paige's kindness and knowledge. I feel more confident after using the products and absolutely will be back. Every store needs someone like Paige working for them. I plan on going back this next week. Three different times when I asked for help I was told the item wasn't carried!! Really?? Bobby pins aren't carried at Ulta? It went down hill from there. This salon is clean and the ladies are friendly, however it took over an hour and a half for me to get a basic shampoo and trim! I left with my hair still half wet, which is pretty ridiculous after that amount of time. If you have unlimited time, this place would be fine. But there is really no reason for an inch of trim to take an hour and 45 minutes. This took more than double the time I expected. read more
