2 stars just because the woman who did my hair was really friendly and nice. My hair however looks horrible. Also this took two hours to do somehow. Atleast it was only 36 dollars. I don't think I would come again. My hair looks choppy and un even. I am going to have to pay more money to have someone fIx this. read more

Appointment was rescheduled (ok), then I arrived 10m early to Jessica finishing up the second woman out of a party of 2. At my appointment time the lady was unsatisfied and wanted her brows to be re-waxed. I understand wanting the customer to leave satisfied but a fix is maybe 5 minutes tops. Jessica proceeded to inform me she was going to be another 15 minutes as she redid this lady's eyebrow wax service. I didn't get seen until 20m after my appointment time, which at that point, what's the point of having an appointment? Some people have limited breaks in which to schedule appointments. Thankfully for the lady who's appointment I ended up taking, I didn't require my service to be entirely redone. Perhaps, Ulta, you should hire more people who can do eyebrows at this location? Or have a manager inform unsatisfied customers that they will have to reschedule later if they need to have the ENTIRE service redone. Or just double the time for every service to accomodate fussy customers? I don't think it's fair to waste my entire break when I came on time and booked ahead. I won't be back to this location. read more

Two stars because they wouldn't let me pick up my wife's order because my name wasn't specifically on the order. We have the same last name. The cashier said she could lose her job if she gave it to me. Guess what? Keep following these horrible policies and the whole company will go bankrupt. Then you'll all be out of a job! EDIT: An Ulta representative replied to my review with a useless comment. As a result I've dropped my 2 star review to 1 star. Ulta, instead of re-affirming what I already know about your horrible policy, why don't you address the policy. Alternatively, please explain how a husband picking up his wife's order is causing ANYONE harm. Again, same last name. Also, the cashier explained that my wife could modify the order by including my name and THEN I could pick it up. However, after contacting my wife and sitting in the car outside your store for 5 minutes while she tried to modify the order, she gave up because she said there was no obvious way to modify the order. read more

This is my go-to salon! I saw Virginia the past 2 times & can't stop talking about her! I trusted her with partial highlights which I probably haven't had in 20+years. I'm so happy & continue to receive compliments. The prices were low and she gave me a gift bag with a lot of samples. Also, the service manager, April checked in on me. She's kind and extremely professional. The whole environment felt good. It was clean, upbeat, and I was made to feel like the most important client! Looking forward to my next visit. read more

I actually went to a decent stylist after this. They said my hair looked like a mullet after yours got done with it!!!! And I had a picture taken less then an hour before the haircut showing mine didn't look like that when I came in!!! read more

The workers here are so nice. Anna helped me find the perfect foundation shade! She really helped me out! Super pleasant coming here and I love being greeted as I walk in. This is the best Ulta around that I've been to -customer service wise. read more

Update: Returned items... didn't sit well with me; will spend my hard earned money elsewhere. Hope this was just an anomaly.... as I have not had this experience in Ulta before: was shopping for a brush head for Clarisonic when a sales person approached me and asked if she could help me with anything ( I was reading a review on my phone about the brush head) after I said no she obviously stood not 10 feet away from me and pretended to clean and inspect products right next to me ... I sarcastically told her where I was going to be next... all this while other people shopped around the store who may have needed help....if it was not sad it would have been laughable... I really needed the products so I bought them ( May still return them) ... but informed the Manager on my way out... but I find it hard to believe an employee would do that on their own ....( Maybe) come on ignorance is exhausting and annoying. read more

Terrible customer service. Tried to return an Ulta-branded gift--and although their "Happy Returns Are Our Style" policy clearly states in writing that if you don't have a receipt, you can return products for exchange or store credit, I was refused by the store manager, who said, "I can't help you because I'll get in trouble; you'll have to call Customer Service." I have now called Customer Service three times, have been told the District Manager would call me--and still no response. There are plenty of other stores who want my business... read more

Walked in to browse the aisles on a Sunday, asked a manager a question about a coupon then realized that she was following me around the store watching my every move. What a rude dumb unprofessional thing to do! I have read other reviews where people have had the same experience ulta corporate better train thier employees to use better judgement. This was a Hair-raising experience. Stylist's interaction with me was neither pleasant or professional. And because of the experience, I did not feel comfortable with this stylist cutting my hair. Bad Customer Service. I'd give 0 stars, if I could. Natalya is missed! The story follows below.... ------------------------------------ I scheduled and confirmed a haircut with a deep conditioning treatment at the salon for mid-day on a day off. When booking, I was told that this was the only available time any stylist had over the next week. I drove 30 minutes to this location, where I was told by the stylist that my appointment was not in the computer. Frustrating. She (aka the stylist) dismissed me with the statement "well I only see my other appointment here." (Read: tough luck) I was upset and mentioned that I had confirmed both the date and time on the phone with the person who booked me... and I asked for her to check the computer again. The stylist shrugged her shoulders with a 'I-don't-care-and-I-don't-care-to-care' Attitude. And, yes, that is 'attitude' with capital "A." A manager came over. They checked the computer. They found my appointment. It was booked on the wrong date. They offered me nothing: Not even the option of rescheduling or accommodation. So- I asked if there was any time available after the client. The stylist said that she could "do (your hair) in between... " but I'd have to wait. Again- I was NOT offered another slot or anything. I asked about the time following that other client's appointment. The stylist said, "yeah- - I could cut your hair real fast." THAT is NOT a phrase you want to hear coming out of a Stylist's mouth... Because of this stylist's dismissive attitude towards me as well as how this situation was handled: I will NOT return to this location; I will NOT recommend this location. I will, however, be vocal about the poor customer/client interaction that I experienced. Btw: I used to see Natalya here. I was told Natalya is out for a while (who knows if this is true) And just like another reviewer- I can only say wonderful things about Natalya... she was always pleasant and professional. read more

This is an especially terrible Ulta. Lackluster staff. Always sold out of stock across various brands and items. The store is also messy with products stacked up and pulled out of their places. I'm hoping the new to open Westport location is better. read more

I get it... working in cosmetics is hard and the holidays probably burnt a lot of people out but the service here is horrible. When costumers walk in and immediately pick up a shopping bag they are there for more than a lipstick so maybe one employee should attempt to ask if they can help. I had to go up to 5 different employees to get help and each time was treated with contempt and as if I was inconveniencing them all. I'm not impolite, I say my please and thank yous and this was such a disappointing experience. It's such a shame because I spent a lot of money and I would have loved to have walked out feeling taken care of instead of regretting my purchases. read more

Awful customer service- I always feel ignored or accused and in either sense, completely belittled. Whether it's I'm trying to ask for feedback on an item, purchasing something, asking for help to find something, etc- I would always leave feeling stupid for going there. One time I was there for a while because I was all off of some of my favorite things but got swept into exploring products I've never seen or tried before and one of the girls (who earlier told me one of the things I was looking at was "trash" and laughed and said "wait..." and called another associate and said "what to you think of this product??" And the girl laughed to herself and said "let her buy it, I want that garbage off of or shelves!" ) said "you're still here??? Damn. You need to get you some friends!" Insinuating that i was only there for so long because I don't have a life. In spite of the time I spent exploring, I put my basket down and walked out. I haven't been back since. I even have a gift card that I've never used because I'm so put off by the people that work there. read more

Wow. If you love organization like I do you will love this place. I am not a big makeup person but I love buying it for all my family that do. All the products I wanted to buy on my list are here. Parking is great since they share a huge lot with Walmart. There is a bus stop right in front. read more

Lisette took my entire eyebrow off! She did apologize, however, she then went to wax my lip and went the completely wrong direction. She was globing on the hot wax and was rushing and taking it off in a upward motion! I would NEVER recommend this place for waxing. Don't go you will regret it!!! read more

My daughter went to ultra for a brow wax and her eyebrow was ruined. In addition her lip wax pulled off her skin. They didn't make her pay but she is missing half her eyebrow. Don't go to ULTA for any treatment - she will be going to a professional from now on. Hate to even give this one star. read more

I usually shop for cosmetics at Sephora, but happened to be driving by this store and popped in to purchase Clinique concealer. The store was nice and the cosmetics were well laid out. However, the check out clerk was clearly annoyed with me for not providing my phone number. Without making eye contact she rattled off all of the reasons why I should sign up for the program. When I declined and said that I just wanted to purchase the one item, she rang me up and shrugged toward the swipe machine for my credit card. I swiped and told her I did not require a bag, which appeared to bother her as well. She dropped the concealer and receipt in front of me on the counter. When I left I said thank you, she did not. I am not one to leave negative reviews, but this short interaction was pointedly unpleasant and I almost went back to ask for the manager. I am sorry if she was having a bad day, but as a paying customer, I expect courtesy, at the very least. Stay away from this place if you expect the same. read more

I prayed for the longest time for Sephora or Ulta to come to the Norwalk area and when Ulta opened - I thought my prayers were answered. I was one of their first customers on opening day and I felt like a kid in a candy store. Skipping from the prestige cosmetic aisles to the drug store brands and every fragrance and hair care aisle in between - it was just too good to be true. Everyone was so nice and welcoming and genuinely happy to help me find my cosmetic treasures! Well, that lasted for about all of one week and during my next visit I was brought right back down to reality. Walked in - not so much as a hello, but no big deal - I was on a mission for more cosmetic candy! Nothing could bring me down. Couldn't find what I was looking for and waited patiently for a sales rep to walk by. That never happened, so I searched for someone who could help and lo and behold - 3 sales ladies were gabbing it up in the front of the store. When I asked for a product, the sales lady came back with me and searched the shelves as I had done for the past 10 minutes - and then told me if it's not on the shelf, it's discontinued. So upset that my favorite lipstick is no more, I contacted the cosmetic company and was told - the lipstick had NOT been discontinued - Ulta just may not carry it. This was just the first of many disappointments to come. Any time I visit Ulta, nobody takes the time to greet you when you walk in the door - even though sales people are right there when you walk in. If you have to find a sales person - good luck. They're never around. And then there are times you could be right next to someone who is re-arranging shelves and they won't even turn around to say is there anything I can help you with? It's getting to be a very strange atmosphere. Sadly, my visits to this store are getting less and less. Sales people are not so knowledgable of products being sold. If you actually do get someone to help, when you ask a question - it's like they're seeing the product for the first time. I don't need help reading instructions - I can do that on my own. I'd like informed details that only someone who knows the product can tell me. I rarely find that here - maybe in the Clinique area - but that's about it. Too bad, I still trek to Sephora, which is out of my way, but I feel that my $$ is appreciated much more there with more helpful and informed sales reps as well. read more

Worst brow bar by far. One of the girls is rude, and the other doesn't even know what she's doing. My brows are completely uneven now. The Milford Brow Bar at Ulta is amazing, never going back here for my brows! I was in the middle of getting my brows done and she was talking to the other brow person, asking why her brow tint messed up earlier. Made me feel reeeeeaaallll confident about getting my brows done by someone who doesn't know what she's doing.... read more

The customer service here is seriously awful. Especially at the brow bar. I've been coming here for my brows for a while now, by appointment, but I stopped by here one day at 10:30 for a last min brow wax in a time crunch- aesthetician was there, chillin, had no conflicting appointments, but refused to take me until 11 because "that is her start time"? Pretty simple request coming from a loyal and paying customer... definitely won't be returning here. read more

I have gone here a couple of times and used Natalya in the salon who is fabulous (only reason they got any stars- she should get 5) and knows how to blow dry hair that has extensions in it. Apparently she is the only one that can. She was on vacation and there was no one there for two weeks able to blow out hair with extensions. Really!! Additionally they are always "booked" but each time I was there for a blow dry with Natalya, she was able to take me early and there was no one else in the salon. Do they book only one service at a time?how can they only have one person to dry hair with extensions when they offer a hair extension product? Need to get it together in managing the salon. read more

This store is so unorganized. You have to hunt down sales people, they don't seem to know much about the products, they have to ask other people and then things are not in stock. I don't feel confident in the information the sales people give me, they just don't act like they know what they are talking about. I was very excited when this store opened up in my neighborhood. I went today for the first time and although the store was very nice like other Ulta beauty stores, I had a very sad experience here. The floor manager working the afternoon shift by the name of Renee was very unpleasant to me when I asked for assistance while shopping and then proceeded to follow me around the store. When I asked about a certain perfume, she asked me "if I planned on purchasing it" in a very hostile manner. I tried to give her the benefit of doubt and not accuse her of racial profiling but she wouldn't even allow me to carry the perfume in my shopping bag. Instead, she insisted on leaving it in the front with the cashier until I go to pay. I was well dressed and very polite. I saw no reason for being treated the way she treated me due to the complexion of my skin? I will also include how nice she was to the other customers I saw her interacting with (which were white customers). I hate to leave this comment but it's sad that discrimination still exist in our progressive society. read more
