Went to the salon for the first time. It was very nice, however a difficult customer kept interrupting my appointment and all of the sudden all my hair was chopped off. I am currently wearing a wig because I did not want a bob and told my stylist that, but I think because outside sources kept pulling her away, the plan was forgotten about and now I have a bob. read more

The associates here are incredibly rude and have a nasty attitude. I asked an employee for a sampler for my daughter, ignored us for practically 5 minutes while standing in the middle, and finally sighed in anger over the small request. On top of this, she kept giving us dirty looks as she walked across the aisles in search of more products. The lines here are also poorly managed too. Several staff members got into some heated arguments over scanning returns and coupons for other customers, and this resulted in a grueling and unfriendly experience. Second time ever coming to this location and did not have a great experience the first time so I typically avoid going here specifically but stopped out of convenience today. This girl who had an arm full of items went out of her way to help me find something which is better than the first time I came here and none of the employees talked to me. When I get to the register, I smile at the lady and say hi as any respectful person would. Absolutely no response, not even a smile. She did not talk to me the entire transaction and I thought it was extremely rude and terrible customer service. I will continue to avoid this location. read more

I have been going to the Ulta store in Westport Ct for years to pick up the Clinique eye pencil I like. I buy three or four of them at a time in addition to other products. But today I had barely gotten into the section where the products were and an older woman with a white coat approached me, sternly asking if I wanted help. She caught me off guard , yet I declined as I knew exactly what I was looking. She simple turned away, never saying, like most associates would, "If you need, help let me know"! I continued to look at the pencil boxes, trying to find the color I wanted, when again out of the blue a few seconds later she showed up along with two young customers and put her body between me and the display in order to show these girls an item from the same display. I was shocked at what was happening. With her back to me and moving me out of her way I stood there dumbfounded at what she did. In an effort to redeem my self esteem, I reached around her as best I could to pick up another box in an effort to continue looking for the right product. Yet after trying this very briefly , I was increasingly upset , so i put down the second box I had in my hands, turned away from her , walked around the back side of the shelving and left the store. This took place at 3:00 on Monday,May 13, 2024. I am mortified at how I was treated. Was it because I am in my 60's , in gym clothes and forgot to put on makeup before I left my home that morning? Did she think I was going to steel something? Or was it because these young girls were likely to buy more than me? Oh, if she only knew! I am equally upset with myself that I didn't defend myself. I should have said something to her. It was humiliating to say the least. I know one thing for sure, I will never shop in that store again! read more

The reason this store has so much theft is because the front staff who don't actually have a makeup station , don't pay attention. They text while they're supposed to be stocking shelves. All the products are not in the right place ; especially concealers or foundations. You have to spend 20-30 minutes looking for something because the row the product is supposed to be in is PROBABLY most likely in a different one. They never ask you if you'd like to use your points at the front cashier ; I feel bad for the mac counter and chanel counter ; their coworkers are extremely unprofessional and lazy. read more

I had an appointment today in the beauty salon with Berna. I am extremely upset with how unprofessional she was. I came in for my appointment and I am waiting at the desk to be checked in. She sees me and ignores me waiting there. I had to walk up to the front cashiers of Ulta and ask to be helped for my appointment. Only to find out that Berna was running 20 minutes behind schedule and couldn't even give me the decency to be professional and call and let me know this. If I would have known I wouldn't have wasted my time going out there considering I had a VERY important event to be at and a certain time to be there. So upset with the customer service i received there today and I will NOT book with this location again. read more

I went in as soon as they opened this morning at 11am. I absolutely needed to stop by before work. Taylor was stocking and helped me patiently and throughly. I was so sick of having crappy foundation and primer. I told her my subject for those two things and she found exactly what I was looking for in the price range given. She color matched me perfectly. I didn't mind the splurge on something of good quality. There were a few other products I didn't intend on buying but wanted more! She showed me everything I asked for. Really glad this ulta opened up in Westport! There aren't many makeup stores in the area besides blue mercury and benefit so this was very much needed! The store is organized but a little hard to navigate. It was pretty empty on a weeknight which allowed me to browse at my leisure. Like the other reviewer said, I wasn't greeted like I am at other stores but the person at the register was friendly and asked if I had any questions or I found everything I wanted. read more

The staff, store and products are Great! The problem and major concern is the number of times that there is organized theft in the Westport CT store!!!!. This is unacceptable and scary to the staff and customers!!! I witnessed this two times while shopping and know that the store was hit up 6 times just over the past month!!!! There needs to be security guard at all times. These criminals walk in to Ulta, grab large quantities of product filling up baskets and run. What are you going to do about this Ulta????!!!! Thank fully no one has been hurt yet. Fix this problem before its too late!!!! Shame on you! A company of your size and with your profits should be able to get security full time- police presence! Associates in here are extremely rude. Barely ever anyone in there and they can't be bothered to ask if you need help. It took me having my masked pulled down to try a color for someone to come over and even then she didn't ask if I needed help. Finally someone else came over and he was very helpful. Wasn't too fond of the vibes in this store. Usually at other locations around , they are very welcoming and ask you if you need help with anything. This is a kind of store where most people do need help when they walk in. I didn't get that vibe from this store though. I actually had to walk up to the lady for help , and when I asked her if they had anything in stock in the back, she said no but didn't offer any alternatives. The day saver was this very sweet lady that helped me find exactly what I needed. I wish I got her name but she made my experience more pleasant. Today I had a lovely 30" Facial by Dermalogia rep & Esthetician Rebecca. It was $42 as I had a 10% coupon given to me on a previous visit to the Ulta store. Rebecca was very informative on all the products she used. She was a great listener & was careful to recommend products to suit my needs. The facial chair is very comfortable w excellent lumbar support. Your feet are not up as they might be in other salons but I was very comfortable as she applied many products & warm towels liberally. Everything smelled wonderful & I felt 30" of pampering. The facial ended w a terrific arm & hand massage . I decided to purchase a couple travel sized products from the Dermalogic line but did not feel pressured to do so. Rebecca is super friendly & polite. Ulta is lucky to have this skilled & knowledgable young lady in their employ. I will be returning to Ulta monthly for my facial. The price point & value is unbeatable for 30" of high quality skin care service. read more

Not a single employee acknowledged me or asked if I needed help. Employees were busy having conversations with each other rather than offering to assist not only myself but other customers. Long line with one women complaining about not getting her points back on a return while customers were putting down their items and walking out! Not going back, waste of time. read more

I have been to this location about 5 times. Not once did anyone ask me if I needed any assistance, said hello or was at the register when I was ready to check out. The staff here is young and Inexperienced and has no idea what products are carried or where to find them. I was looking for a dry shampoo and when I walked over to that area where 3 employees were standing they all walked away. I followed one and asked for a specific brand and she said she never heard of it so they must not carry it. Well I found it and showed her but she didn't seem to care. You walk down the aisles and employees are either chatting or on the phones and do t even acknowledge you. Won't be going back read more

I went in to buy a simple eye liner and was waiting to pay with one woman in front of me and a line behind me, there was a woman behind the counter that was unable to ring people out but was trying to get the managers attention who was speaking with another employee. The man continued to have his side conversation while the line of people continued to wait. I calmly said "excuse me sir, could you ring me out" and he responds saying "yaaa give me a minute" it was terrible customer service and I will not be going back. I can get the same products in a smaller store with better service. If he was manager the first thing he should be concerned about is customer service, obviously he doesn't know how to run a store. read more

Every visit to this location is a disappointment at the register. In my last 4 visits combined I probably spent a $1000 dollars. They don't want to be bothered with customers. When asked about promotions the say "I don't know". Come on -- Why don't you know? It's your job to know. Makes the customer dig online and in the their emails for a coupon. They are not pleasant to deal with as a matter of fact they lack the basic customer service characteristics. Not helpful because they don't care. My last experience the manager straight out lied to me about her ability to process a return. She wanted to give me a 800 number to call - anything to get me out of the store out of her way. I didn't allow it and eventually she processed the return. It was laziness. That behavior starts from the top. It's the managers that are responsible for the poor service and all the way up the ladder. I'm not going back there. read more

If you need to get your hair colored I HIGHLY recommend Crystal! She is FANTASTIC! super funny and so great at coloring hair. I dyed my hair brown and absolutely hated it. She fixed it in just over one hour in what normally takes my other salon twice as long and for twice the price. This women deserves a promotion. She is amazing. read more
