I recently decided to stop blow drying my hair and to embrace my natural curls. Rob (color) and Valentino (cut) have been taking care of me for years, so I trusted them to help me make the transition. I knew there was a reason I trust them - the results were just what I hoped for! Rob toned down the color where it was getting too bleached out and wouldn't compliment the new texture. Valentino took some weight off the hair without chopping it and took the time to talk to me about which products to use and how to use them (without pressuring into me buying them from the salon). Very pleased with my hair and received so many compliments after a visit to Hopscotch. Rob really aced my color and made me feel so welcome. Manny did my blow out and was just as awesome as Rob. The salon uses ammonia free hair color which Is terrific. They offered me refreshments while my color was taking. Parking was easy. I came here for years before moving to Brooklyn. I just moved back and wow, what a disappointment. I got my highlights here and was so confused when they handed me a hair dryer towards the end of my appointment and told me I could blow dry my own hair. I expressed confusion and they said a blowout is not included in the service, which is over $300, and they didnt have anyone available to blow dry my hair because I hadn't booked this "extra service" in advance. I've been to many salons and had my hair colored many times and it has ALWAYS been included. I told them I couldn't blow dry my own hair because of a shoulder injury (I really can't) and I ended up leaving with my hair sopping wet. I am so appalled by this place. read more

The new location of Hopscotch is beautiful. You walk through the hotel which feels like an all inclusive resort! Once you get to the salon (I went during Covid time), they check you in they make you sanitize, put gloves on and give you a brand new gown. I saw Mai who is absolutely amazing! She is the sweetest, most caring person. She asked how I wanted my hair then sent me to get it washed first. Once I got in her chair she took her time with my hair. She went little by little we even went a little shorter to get the dead ends off. She really listened to how I wanted my hair. After she finished cutting, she did a blow dry and also little curls at the end! I was so happy with how the salon was doing Covid protocol and love how Mai did my hair! Thank you! This was the worst experience I have ever had at a salon. I took my eight year old daughter to have her hair cut, and took an appointment with Ariel. She turned out to be extremely rude, and left us with not only a mediocre, choppy haircut, but also left my daughter in tears. Ariel had unnecessarily obnoxious, unprofessional and unwarranted comments about everything from my 8 year old's hair (referring to her curls multiple times as "dreadlocks") to my daughter's posture (Ariel commented obnoxiously that she "isn't a doctor but her posture is horrible."). Who, on earth, does this to a child while she sits in your chair for a trim? Ariel should be ashamed of herself. Hopscotch should be ashamed for employing her. For someone so opinionated as Ariel, you'd better give an incredible cut. She could not even do that. I can say with conviction that not only would I never return to this awful salon but I'll tell every person I know not to go either. Hopscotch should be mortified to employ such a stylist as Ariel. read more

After reading the glowing reviews and driving by the salon many times, I decided to try Hopscotch Salon to get my hair done for my wedding, as well as the hair styling for my bridal party. . What a great experience! The salon was able to accommodate my entire wedding party (7 bridesmaids, 1 bride, 1 MOB) and get all our hair done within 3 hours. It was a wonderful experience to be able to all be together the morning of my wedding. I appreciate all the effort made by the stylists and employees at Hopscotch to accommodate a group of our size. We were served mimosas and mini pastries and fruit while we were getting our hair done. It was priceless to be able to relax the morning of my wedding, not worrying about how everyones hair was coming out, or if we were on schedule. Hopscotch took care of all that for us! Manjola styled my hair, and based on my bridal trial I knew she would do a phenomenal job. Although we had our hair done at the salon, Manjola came to the club later on that morning to clip in my veil so I didn't have to wear it around all day. Customer service = 100%. I can't say enough great things and will absolutely be going back to Hopscotch before my next event ! read more

Clean salon with efficient booking processes. Might be OK for wedding hair appointments for cute young things who want long soft curls. As a slightly older client I was surprised to get, after I asked for a "piece-y blowout with volume at the crown," the 55+ standard-issue blown-flat, plastered-to-the-skull do which left me looking like a librarian or maybe a prison guard. Bonus: lacquered with layers of extra-hold hairspray. Modeling wax (which would have been helpful) was mentioned but never materialized. Maybe this is how the ladies in Greenwich like their hair done, who knows. However I'm unpleased to be out schlepping in the rain this afternoon to find hair products so I can re-style my own hair for my event tonight. read more

She always gives me great advice/tip on how to style my hair and would let me know what works and doesn't work when I show her pictures of how I want my hair to look. She's very patient and makes sure that I'm pleased with the cut. She also gives product recommendations when I asked; to fix my tangled hair and other hair issues. I went in to get my usual blond hair color that i have been getting for years...., 7 or 8 years maybe more of the same hair color... A loyal customer. I came out of the salon dark brown with very dark brown roots. I asked for a refund for my color and for them to fix it with a few highlights at no charge. They said we either give you a refund or fix the color not both. They said If you get a refund for the mistake in the hair color, we have to charge you to fix it. Its either or. So here i am having to spend more time out of my busy schedule going back to the salon getting my hair fixed because they screwed up the color AND paying for that too? Figure at about $150 -200 a month for 12 months x 8 years equals $16,800 spent at this salon by me and they cant even give me a refund and fix my screwed up hair at no charge? Wow. This is how they value their customers. Proceed with caution! Byebye. Oh and by the way my colorist was naomi who in the short review below was said as great. I asked the salon and Naomi several times to please let me know how they screwed up so i could have my hair fixed properly be another salon and no one gave the courtesy of letting me know exactly what was done wrong that gave me my dark brown hair and almost black roots. I finally did track her down via phone and found out what she did wrong so at least now i can go somewhere else and try to get this corrected without ruining my hair. . read more

Came in looking for an all over color. Colorist refused to do it and instead gave me highlights and lowlights. I thought.. she probably knows best. I left there with 3 different colors in my hair, the bottom all orange. It was horrid. Before even leaving I complained and the manager did a comb through and agreed it was horrible. She sent me back to the same colorist and charged me another $40 for the colorist to add more highlights to take out the orange. Immediately, my hair started falling out in chunks. The whole top layer of my hair is about 2 inches long where the rest of my hair falls to my chest. It's a beautiful salon and very trendy, however I would never recommend anyone here ever for color. It's insane to think that these types of mistakes are made, to burn hair off someone's head, at this type of high level salon. read more

I wanted to give them a good review but I just can't because of the front desk staff. I made an appointment and told them I needed to be out by a certain time, I informed them how long it took to blow dry my hair they told me an hour would be fine. I got there on time and it took them 10 minutes to find me in the system, they had me under the wrong name and had no idea why they couldn't find me. When I finally got my hair washed the woman sitting next to me had an appointment at the same time with the same stylist I had! She finished before me and got sent to his chair. Mind you I'm already 20 mins behind schedule and it takes 40 mins to blow out my hair. The shampoo girl was very nice and helpful and actually blew out my hair until the double booked stylist finished up the person he was working on. I got to his chair and explained that I like my hair full and with a lot of volume. He got me out in time but blew my hair out flat, it's not at all how I like it. When I went to check out the front desk thought I already paid which I didn't, thankfully I'm honest and when I asked who my shampoo girl was since she was the best part they gave me the wrong name! I remembered someone else calling her a different name. Thankfully I asked if they were sure to which they replied "oh yea" and gave me the correct name. Not worth the $60. The stylist worked with me every step of the way, as did the colorist who did an outstanding job of highlights/lowlights. The quality and artistry of their work will keep me going back. Hopscotch is so wonderful that I drive 160 miles home from grad school just to get my hair cut. Even though the salon is listed as pricey I find it to be moderately priced ($$) for Greenwich CT. It's also located seconds from the Greenwich train station so if you're headed into NYC for an event it's incredibly convenient to get your hair done. This is the only salon I trusted when I cut off almost 12 inches of hair when I donated it to lock of love! (and if you're donating your hair the hair cut is free) I have moderately curly hair and my cut always looks fantastic straight or curly! read more

I've been coming for a while now and can now vouch for Hopscotch :) Every-Single-Time it's been ahhh-mazing! The front desk is superb and the staff from assistants to stylists and colorists are wonderful! When I get my hair colored, I show my colorist a variety of photos and she keeps it honest and tells me if it can be done or not, and always (I MEAN ALWAYS) has the best suggestions and other alternative colors/styles that work for my hair. I have stubbornly coarse dark hair so the process to go any shade lighter is usually a risky business. But with her, my hair has stayed healthy and has gotten so many compliments! Everybody I met and dealt with was incredibly nice, down to earth, and professional. I have been sick for a while and wanted to do something to make me feel better. While getting one's hair done it doesn't have true healing powers, it does lift the spirit. Upon arrival I met Dena the colorist and I felt she immediately understood what I was looking for. She decided to use the baliyage technique. I had never gotten this type of treatment before; I am sure it was as much her skill as well as the technique itself, but I absolutely love the result. Throughout the process Dena was friendly, easy going and chatty without being overbearing. Then there was Lexi the girl that shampooed my hair. What a sweetheart, she was so attentive and kind. She gave me a great scalp massage and I decided to add the deep conditioning treatment she recommended. Finally, there was Manjola who cut my hair. She came over to introduce herself while Dena was coloring my hair. She also was very friendly, knew exactly what had to be done and was the one who pulled it all together. After making the move to Connecticut for 2.5 years ago I still feel like a newbie in the sense that I am still discovering the best places to go to for all sorts of everyday services. I was lucky enough to hair model for Jamie last night. She's currently an assistant but this young woman has amazing skills. She took my drab, frizzy, gray lined, bottle blonde and damaged hair (I mean, it's not a pretty picture, right) and transformed it through high and low lights with a demi single process. And a glaze. I asked for big Dallas hair (for a blow out) and I got it. She was professional, pleasant, well informed on product and process and most importantly, able to connect with me. She's old enough to be my daughter, but she made me feel gorgeous, relevant, and young again. She put sunshine back on my head, and I left feeling well taken care of. Kudos Jamie. Kudos Hopscotch for hiring her into your colorist program. I can't wait to see you continue to grow as an artist. read more

FROM GOLD TO ROT I don't know what happened but this salon is not even worth one star. I have been loyal for years and they have "separated" from some of my favorite stylists. -The staff is extremely rude and unprofessional, you over hear the staff gossiping about you and other clients that are getting services done. -Their prices are unclear and overpriced. (same formula for a junior is $65 and a senior its $115?! -for the same color?) They also add on treatments and uncharge tickets without it being clear for the additional charges. -The staff seems disorganized and often you feel "forgotten" during a service or waiting to start your service. Overall this used to be a thriving gem and within the past couple months I don't know what has happened but I will NEVER try the HOPSCOTCH EXPERIENCE again. After spending three years in search of a colorist in CT, I decided to try hopscotch. I was set up with Elsa who did an AMAZING job. I'm aware that blonde highlights on darker hair is tricky, but she has mastered it every single time over the last 2 years! It's such a relief to sit in the chair and not panic that my hair would turn brassy or damaged.
