The moment I walked in, Azra introduced her self to me and gave me a tour of the beautiful spa. She showed me everything I needed to know, which made me feel completely at ease. After changing, I relaxed in the spa lounge where she gave me glass of wine--such a luxurious and thoughtful touch. Adam Broderick is a great salon, and I hope they continue to be and recognize that disclosure on service changes is important to customers prior to service. When I called for an appointment for a classic manicure, I was not informed that my choice of nail polish included only glitter bottles. There would be an additional charge of $7.00 for any other choice. Please know that the approach comes off as inappropriate, to say the least. There was no information on the self-booking page of their website either. It is up to the owner to decide such things, as arbitrary as I may believe them to be; it is owners choice, but please disclose ahead of appointment. read more

I have my hair cut here regularly and, on the reco of my stylist, made an appointment for balyage treatment and was very much looking forward to it. Here's what happened: 1) My colorist (Teri) canceled the same day so I was given another appointment at around the same time. 2) I arrived 10 minutes early and was kept waiting for 20 minutes 3) Colorist 2 (Justine) informed me that a blow dry was not included (whut?) and she only had 15 minutes. I was not aware of the fact that AB sends clients out the door with wet hair so I requested a blow dry. Then my colorist told me that she couldn't do much with my hair in 15 minutes and that I could "probably have a blow dry" 4) I told her I was leaving. I wasn't happy being treated by a colorist in a rush. 5) As I left, a manager convinced me to stay and that a blow dry would be scheduled. 6) I sat down and waited 10 more minutes 7) colorist 3 came along (wasn't introduced so not sure of her name), looked irritated, said (in front of other clients) she was too busy for me, asked what I wanted and then said she had no time and that my hair was really "inky" so she couldn't do much with it. 8) insulted and embarrassed, I told her that I would just leave. 9) I left 10) I won't come back. I tried a few salons ranging from South Norwalk up to Ridgefield, and I gave them a fair shot, but ultimately, none were right for me...that is until I tried Adam Broderick. I've gone twice now for a keratin treatment and a haircut, and I know I've found my place. My hair always looks amazing. Gustavo cuts my hair, and I swear that he is so quick, and in what feels like mere minutes, you have a perfect cut. Both Rina and Andrea have done my keratin treatments, and they are both wonderful. AB Salon is always packed, and I understand why. That said, the salon is so large that I've never had to wait long for an appointment. There is no question that this is the best salon in Ridgefield. Also, the boutique is well curated and enjoyable to check out if you arrive early for your appointment. I am definitely guilty of buying a candle I didn't need but very much wanted. As a side note, the first time I went to AB Ridgefield, Adam Broderick came up to me to introduce himself, and I thought that was a welcoming gesture. read more

I made an appointment for a new client haircut and color with glaze. I received a call the morning of my appointment that my hair stylist called in sick, so they fit me in with someone else. I sat down had the color put on my head and she starting talking about politics. That is a big no no... I was not comfortable and it was unpleasant. She also did not seem confident in doing my color. Then I was sent to someone to wash my hair and to put the glaze on. I then was sent to another stylist to blow-dry!! That's 3 different people! When the blow out was done, I looked like I was going to prom. I am 56 yrs old so no I did not like it. I was charged $49 dollars for the blowout and it was only $33 dollars online. When I arrived and met Terri, she instantly and instinctively knew what would work best for me. She took the time to show me pictures of what to expect. Though I didn't schedule a blow dry ( which was not included with the price of color) she went out of her way to have someone give me an amazing complimentary blow out! For most of 2021 I was guilty of coloring my hair at home using L'Oreal Hair Color, UL61 Ultra Light Ash Brown. It gave me that beautiful smokey icy "mushroom brown" color that was on trend for awhile. My hair color looked great, but the condition of my hair sure didn't. After months of boxed hair color and a summer in the sun and pool I had really damaged hair. We moved to Wilton in the summer of 2020. I went to Anthony Broderick in Ridgefield for the first time in September 2021. I got a conditioning treatment and a hair cut. Spent a lot of money! Didn't walk out with a big improvement over what I came in with, and I question whether that $30.00 "conditioning treatment" that I tacked on to my $100 haircut did much of anything. I bought a huge bottle of Kérastase Resistance Bain Force Shampoo and Conditioner ($150+ purchase). So by the end of that visit I had a bill of $300. My hair looked like I got a normal trim. Used my super expensive Kérastase shampoo and conditioner and my hair was still breaking off and not really improving. I booked an appointment for another conditioning treatment and haircut on December 1st, 2021, with Jetone. He was wonderful. I explained to Jetone that my hair was breaking off, and I needed 2 inches cut off the length to get rid of the damaged ends, and bring the length closer to something resembling a one length short bob. Jetone recommended a great conditioner that I would not have known about had he not mentioned. It is called K18 Leave-in Molecular Repair Hair Mask. It works! The haircut--It would have been nice to have a lot of the damage cut out while trying a short but trendy new cut. What I got was a short bob with layers. Didn't like the way it was blow dried. It sort of resembled the infamous "Karen" haircut. It looks so much like my mom's haircut, who is 65 years old, and it also looks a lot like Mary Berry's hair from "The Great British Bake Off." I was, and still am nowhere near the age I would expect to be before sporting this "old lady haircut." In short, the cut was not me. Not my style, not my age group, but my hair sure felt a lot better, and I am thankful for that. My only complaint about this salon, and this is a big one-- the prices are pretty inflated, especially considering the salon is located in Ridgefield, CT which is deeply suburban. It is a bright, open and spacious salon, and the stylists are very nice, and professional, but this isn't a trendy New York City salon, and yet they are charging Manhattan prices typical of some of the best salons in Manhattan. It's been close to a year since getting my "Karen/old lady haircut" and my hair is looking like it might be ready for a good haircut in a long bob. I saw a woman at Jcrew in Westport with a great longer length bob cut, which is exactly how I like to wear my hair. I asked her where she gets her haircut and she said she goes to "Suki (sp?) at Anthony Broderick so I will probably get my next hair cut at Anthony Broderick again! read more

The first thing I think of when it comes to Adam Broderick is $$$$. This salon is a luxurious and high end establishment with colorists that know exactly what they're doing with the health of your hair in mind. I used to be platinum blonde and went dark to my natural color 4 months ago (a PERFECT match). Now that spring is rolling around I was craving some brighter highlights in my hair. My colorist made sure to lighten with a lower bleach content to ensure the integrity of my hair would withstand the process. Was this expensive? Yes. Does my hair look incredible? Yes. Does it feel like I wrecked my hair with chemicals? No. My hair is healthy happy and gorgeous!! Why this is a four star establishment: The only thing I didn't like was that the blow dry was extra... 54$ extra not including tip. To maximize turnover they have your colorist move right along and send you to get styled with someone else. I've never had this happen before and was quite taken aback when I came to the register. Supposedly I had the option to blow dry my own hair in a back room (a little weird and slightly frustrating because you're paying so much money for a color job), but this was never offered to me. While I understand the business model, other top rated salons in the area include the blow dry in the service for a lower price. Was this a great blow out? Yes. Unreal. It lasted for 3 days perfectly (I probably could have stretched it another day or two) without needing any sort of upkeep and I'm the type to wash my hair everyday. Overall this is a salon I will definitely be going to again. Would I be going as often as I'd like to? Probably not because of the sheer price (especially the blow dry situation). Just moved from NYC, needed highlights. Heard about this salon around town. When I arrived, the stylist consulted what I wanted to do. She put my color on, put me under the dryer, and I never saw her again. Had my hair rinsed out and glazed by someone else. I was brought over to the "blow dry station" to dry my own hair. The girl handed me a brush and walked away. In all my experiences, I have never dried my own hair at a salon after any service. Isn't that why you go to a salon? The stylist never even came to see how the highlights tuned out or if I was pleased. I kept waiting for the stylist to come and look at my hair. I ended up leaving after ten minutes because I didn't need to sit in a salon and dry my hair. I would've booked a blow dry had I known it wasn't included. No staff even on the floor to take my gown. The front desk wasn't too friendly either. All in all good the color came out good (thankfully), but this place lacks customer service. read more

I am relatively new to the area (5 years almost), and have given Adam Broderick salon in Ridgefield their last chance for me to find a stylist who really listens to me. My last, and I do mean last, visit, I had color done by Justine (great) and paid a premium price to have my hair cut by their premier stylist, Jola.I was hoping to have my last haircut, horrible, fixed by Jola. She did not listen to anything I asked her to do save for not using the thinning (texturizing) scissors in my hair- I said that I rarely blow out my hair as it is naturally wavy. Jola proceeded to give me a bob style cut which explicitly said I did not want- she refused to give me some layers, which I know would have given me the change in shape I was after. That's it, I'm done with this salon, I really wanted to like them but not so much. read more

What I had originally booked wouldn't have work bc of prior coloring but he explained to me a different process that would give me the same look. He explained everything he was doing and it ended up turning out amazing. He even stayed past the closing time to make sure it was properly finished. Expected a lot more from this salon with the prices being as high as they are. Got a blow out and makeup done for a wedding I was going to that night and I was not happy with either. My hair is fine, straight and long (a little past shoulder length). All I needed was a blow out to give it some volume. I knew it wouldn't be a ton of volume due to my type of hair...but figured they could do a better job than I would be able to at home. I was wrong. My hair was so flat, frizzy and almost looked oily. The stylist blamed my hair length on the reason there was no volume. She also didn't use the flat iron to fix the frizz. The makeup was even worse! The artist didn't clean my face before starting. She also was very rough. I told her I had contacts so she knew to be a little gentler on the eyes and careful not to get anything in them, but she did the complete opposite. I ended up with waterproof mascara all over my contact!! It covered at least 50% of it. She acted like she didn't even see it. It was so irritated and when I pointed it out she said it would wash off after I blinked a few time...it didn't. I had to throw the contact away and wear my glasses that night due to the irritation. She was also throwing the makeup brushes and eye liners on the counter when she was done and they kept landing on their heads, she would then pick them up and use them again...not very sanitary. Only reason for 2 stars instead of 1 is because both of the ladies helping me were nice. (However the lady at the counter when I was paying was very rude! Especially when I asked how they accepted tip and she snapped back saying I couldn't tip on card and should use the ATM, which was fine...but no reason to be nasty about it!) I also received a call from the salon after letting them know about this via their survey and they offered to have me come back again to have the services done again. Very good customer service. However I declined because each experience should be treated the same no matter when I am there and for whatever reason. I would not go back to this salon for hair or makeup. read more

One of the best salons around... I have been coming here for years and absolutely love everything about the Adam Broderick salon! During Covid every effort was made to make the customer feel so safe I actually forgot about Covid! Lawren is the best with coloring hair and takes time to find out exactly what your looking to achieve. (At other salons when the color was applied it would burn/ itch - I explained this to Lawren and I have never experienced that problem again! ) Always receive many compliments on my color and have Lawren to thank for that! Daisy is an incredible hairstylist and the pictures of various haircuts look exactly like the real thing! She spends so much time with me and I never feel rushed. Worth every penny!! My whole family goes to AB for hair. Great colorists and stylists, like them very much, rarely an issue. Today I took my daughter to get her nails done. She wanted color change only, my daughter is growing out her nails and wants to keep them strong with gel (or in this case dazzle dry because they told me they did not have time to do gel). After confirming with us that my daughter wanted color change only, no manicure, they proceeded to cut her nails all short without asking. When I told them at checkout, they told me that we were not clear about what we wanted. UPDATE: The spa manager called me to discuss our experience. She was kind and understanding. We had a good conversation. It's possible my daughter inadvertently gave consent to cut her nails. Thank you AB for reaching out. Went in for a haircut and somewhere between checking in and payment due I lost a gift card for an exceptionally large amount. Mia, on the front desk, was amazing in the handling of my crisis. From her calm and helpful demeanor to a comprehensive knowledge of their system and how to locate the card inside of their computer system -which turned out to be unnecessary- it instilled some confidence a solution would be found. That the haircut was first rate, the ambiance of the salon calm and bustling at the same time, the enticing variety of cosmetics, product and accessories; I have come to take that for granted. My twins went for balyage (which looked beautiful and was done by Teri and Christine.) When they got home the receipt had 2 different prices - a difference of over $100 with the tip. I called to ask why. Spoke to Sheila Rushka who was dismissive and said my daughters are old enough to question a bill themselves. (They turned 18 a week ago and I am paying the bill.) I explained that when you ask for a service, if the service needs to change to something else, it should be clearly communicated and the client should be aware that there is a price difference. That did not happen. I then emailed Adam Broderick directly. He called me and basically yelled at me because he said I have complained before (another overcharge a few years ago that they removed because it was an error and a about a balyage that needed to be fixed because it was drastic.) We have been going to this salon for many years - facials, massages, hair cuts, many balyages, prom hairstyles and more. We have spent $1,000's of dollars there and did not complain or have issues unless there was a blatant problem (I mentioned the 2 instances above which were salon errors.) When I questioned a price difference on the bill, Adam Broderick personally insulted my character and stated he is "done with me." It was a surprising turn of events. According to him, I am the only person who's ever complained about his salon. According to him, I'm the type of person who takes issue with every business that I've ever come in contact with. So Teri and Christine, if you are reading this, please know that there were not complaints about your services and if you ever leave Adam Broderick salon, let me know. My hair ended up a little darker than I wanted and I was totally overreactive about it (because I didn't realize it was semi-permanent rather than permanent dye) and they were so kind despite me overreacting and went above and beyond to make sure it got resolved. I've been going here on and off since high school. Christine is without a doubt the best colorist I have ever gone to. She's also a lovely person and really remembers you (and your hair). I moved away for a few years and really missed her. I'm almost hesitant to write this review because I don't want her to be booked up! I've had good cuts here as well. I initially wrote this review as a negative one. I had a facial at the spa with a new employee and wasn't happy with the experience. I felt uncomfortable complaining at the front desk in front of other customers and wrote a Yelp review. The owner reached out within 24 hours and, Lisa, the manager of the spa contacted me first thing this morning. She was very courteous and offered to make things right, which I really appreciate. Petty-minded salon with disorganization. On the day of my color appointment, I made it to the salon 15 min late and before that, I was either early or on time. Please note I do not live in Ridgefield and have only driven there three different times within months of one another so timing is a bit off. As I pulled into the driveway I received a call from the receptionist asking me if I was coming in and that I would need to see another stylist. Unbelievable... What was the purpose of the consultation I went to a couple of days before that? I'm a busy entrepreneur and the last thing I need is for my hair stylist whom I am providing business for, to offer not-so-great customer service with no first-time consideration just bc I am running 15 min late. There was no reason to immediately assume I was being inconsiderate when I was the one who experienced the rushed consultation in which I displayed flexibility/discretion for her schedule. I immediately canceled my appointment and contacted the salon a week ago to inform them of my concerns and heard absolutely nothing back. Apparently amongst needing cash for tips at all times since you cannot tip on your card, disorganization, and not hearing back from management, you also need to accommodate the employee's schedule. All to have a mediocre service in a factory-like salon within a setting of co-workers who don't appear to be getting along rather well. There is too much competition with nearby salons to deal with receiving unprofessional impersonal treatment. The one good thing I will say is that the interior of the salon is nice but unfortunately lacks a positive environment to complement the interior and this is coming from an architect.
