As someone who worked in retail for nearly a decade, customer service is important to me. I was traveling to ocean city and needed a hair care product and decided to venture to ulta Beauty nearby. I walked in the door and was greeted by a young sales associate who asked me if they could help me find anything. I pulled up a picture of exactly what I was looking for and I had already done my due diligence and researched that ulta did in fact carry the product. He looks for a second and assured me that this location does not carry the brand design essentials at all. I almost walked out but decided to look around myself since I did go out of my way and I really needed this product or something similar. I walk to the back and find hair care products that look like they cater to black women and amazingly there is an entire section of Design Essentials. I quickly locate the product I needed and headed to check out. After arriving at the checkout I am instructed to put in my phone number. I inform the young lady I have never purchased anything from Ulta and did not have a rewards membership. She asked if I would like to sign up and I declined. She then informed me that I could not make any returns without being a rewards member. Overall I was more annoyed with the policy and the lack of knowledge of the sales associate. This Ulta store is very well stocked and the staff is very friendly. I was looking for a nude-ish lippie with a matching liner but I didn't want a Kylie Lip Kit. So Sales Rep Kelly showed me the Becca Cosmetics line and how their lipsticks had their colors aligned with skin tones. They had warms, cools, neutrals, pinks, etc. They also matching lip liners. A lipstick is $24 and a liner is $18. I was only trying to spend my $5 off $10 coupon so I decided to go with Colour Pop instead. Their lippies are $7 and the liners are $6. Those are awesome prices. I got both in "Oh Snap" which is a muted nude pink. The lipstick was Matte but with a somewhat creamy texture. The liner was matte as well. I also purchased The KKW Diamond Collection fragrance in the Khloe Pink. It's the best smelling one out of the trio and was on sale for $28 instead of the suggested retail price of $40. I was very pleased with my visit and I learned about other product lines that I'll purchase from in the future. read more

This is by far the worst Ulta I have been to thus far. I walked in on a Sunday afternoon and there were hardly any associates to be found. All of the tester items were dirty and the displays were also full of old makeup goop. I didn't test any products on my skin because I was afraid I was going to catch something. The testers literally had caked up makeup around the caps and openings - yuck! I found an associate who was stocking and she directed me to a representative to help me find the right shade for my skin tone. That representative worked for Estée Lauder and only showed me Lancôme products. What gives? Ulta is typically a pleasant experience except for this store. I guess I should've foreshadowed when I first entered and wasn't greeted. read more

Jayna at the Benefit brow bar is AMAZING! I never thought my eyebrows could be even or have a good arch, but she works WONDERS and my eyebrows look phenomenal now! Definitely make it a point to go see her when you need your brows waxed and/or tinted when you're in the area! :) read more

I'm super happy with this location. I used to have to drive 45 minutes to Sailsbury for an ulta location. I'm very thankful now I only have to drive five minutes from home. This location is so much better than Salisbury. Here I do not have to ask for samples and the staff is so attentive. I had about given up on Ulta because our location doesn't have the best staff (Salisbury, MD, I'm looking at you). However, after visiting this Ulta in Ocean City, I have now changed my mind. They greeted you as soon as you walked in and offered assistance immediately. I went with a group of friends and every single one of us were helped. They offered their input, their advice, as well as different products. I asked for a highlighter that wasn't too glimmery and they were so kind in assisting me. This place is lovely and every Ulta should have a staff as nice as these ones. Stay amazing ladies!!! read more
