Ulta Beauty is by far one of my favorite name brand stores in the U.S. My 12-year-old with naturally curly hair finally decided to take care of those curls with her own research. So we popped into this Odessa, TX on June 27, 2026. The service was not welcoming. No one asked if we needed assistance although we walked by plenty of reps. We did. Then we finally found what my daughter wanted. The young lady at the register was nice, but overall the employees here do not go out of their way to help customers. This large store is in a plaza where there's plenty of parking. Of course I'll be back as this is the closest Ulta to me. read more

On Sunday I came in needing all new make up. I wanted to try new products because my old ones weren't doing the trick. I was introduced to Devan. He was amazing! He helped me out and had so much knowledge about each product he recommended. He told me these are the products he likes to use which tells me they work because his skin was flawless! He didn't try up selling me and make me spend hundreds of dollars. I've used the products for 2 days and they work exactly how he told me they would. I had my toddler with me and she wasn't the happiest but Devan was sooooo extremely patient with us. Kept a smile on his face and wasn't even bothered by my crying little one. Zero stars. DO NOT go to the salon. Went in for a trim and ended up with uneven butchered layers. I asked for rounded, soft, long layers. She gave me butchered, razored-type, uneven layered hair. Not worth the money or my time. Even after one wash, my ends are split from the horrible job she did. Never again. read more

Great customer service all of the women we encountered was very informative about all the many different products they have.

I ordered curbside and had to call the store because I was not sure how to proceed since the email did not contain any actual instructions on their procedures. There was a small underlined "see your pickup options" link that shows the entire list of stores filtered by state with again absolutely no significant information. Also in the email there is a "click here" link that is not underlined or easily identifiable as a link, but it is clickable and just fyi that goes to the same exact website of locations with no info. Great Job Ulta, you were so close but yet still disappointing just like your dirty misused samples. Now back to my phone call with Mrs. Customer Service, she told me to just pull up to the curb, and then paused (weirdly) so I inquired about her needing my order number, she said "just the name", I told her and she said "ok" and proceeded to hang up the phone... after a bit of clumsy banging, guess actual phones are harder to operate than cell phones. Who knew?! We pulled over to the actual curb near the doors and pretty quickly an employee did come out of the store (wow) she asked for a photo id, but no polite "hello" or "how is your day" that must be reserved for inside the store conversation. But I could totally tell she was very interested in my overall ULTA experience, like when I asked if she was the employee that hung up on me she let out this low grumble that almost sounded like she cared. I came here looking for the new Kylie ph lip tint...they were sadly low on stock for it but Carla was extremely helpful, she walked around the store with me and showed me different options that are similar to the product i was originally looking for. Then i was looking for my bad habit face wash, ulta no longer carries it, but Carla was also asking for what the face wash had in it and she walked around showing me other brands that has similar ingredients, AWESOME! I know thats how customer service works but It's so hard to find good customer service and an employee that has the patience, but she was amazing and i was so thankful for her help. I hope the manager at this store sees this review because Ms. Carla deserves a raise or something. She's awesome! read more

I placed a hair and make up appointment with one of the stylist they have there, when I got there she asked me what kind of makeup look I wanted I told her I wanted a natural look. For starters ... she didn't tell me that all they were going to use on my face would be testers ... unless I paid for all the makeup that was going to be used. Then she made me walk with her throughout the store to pick out the makeup (I am not the paid stylist .. what would I know about makeup? That's why I paid YOU the STYLIST to do my makeup stress free) after all that she asked this rude co worker to help her choose my make up because she wasn't too sure how to pick my makeup I guess? Then when she finally got done with picking out everything we went back and she kept telling me she didn't like the way my hair came out (she left my hair freezy what I wanted was big waves and I got napping freezy waves) when she got to my make up she continued to plaster a thick foundation on to my face pressing it everywhere even my hair, she asked me every time she was done if I liked it & then with every other thing she added it just got thicker and ore scarier. I looked like a clown by the time I left. She sure didn't know what she was doing and I will NEVER go back with someone so stressful like her again. I honestly recommend going to your personal hair stylist or paying a little extra with someone who knows what they are doing. I do not recommend or at least the blonde girl who helped me. Also I was there for almost 2 hours when it was only supposed to be an hour and 15 minutes. read more

I wish I could give them one star they are very unhelpful understaffed and they never have any products left in stock. The person that helped me was a black girl named chymz. She doesn't know anything about beauty products. I just came to town to visit my friend and she warned me before we went in that they never have products in stock but I just laughed but she was completely right. read more

I went to ulta today after a procedure on my back looking rough! Hair in a bun, stretchy pants, no makeup. And let me tell you not ONE person stopped to ask if I needed help or greeted me. I am a platinum member at ultra, I shop there constantly but in the Midland location where ALL the girls are AWESOME!! I walked out spending over 120.00. I even once stopped and asked a associate how to activate the bonus points on my app she looked at me like I was crazy because she didn't know how to do it. On the Ulta app no less! Long story short, don't judge a book by the cover! I will never return to this store, I will most definitely drive to Midland for their great service!!!! read more

Horrible service in this store, the lead cashier is literally the most unfriendly customer service rep I have seen in a long time. I worked in retail for years, and I kept in mind that without the customers, I wouldn't have a job. Perhaps she should consider that. I went to this location looking for a good foundation and a couple other accessories. I walked into the store and immediately noticed there were a ton of people working that day--none of which greeted me or welcomed me into the store. I found the foundation I had been researching, but couldn't decide on a shade, so I thought to ask one of the associates in the store. I looked around and finally found a group of about 4 associates who were huddled in a circle laughing and talking to each other, instead of helping the customers. I stood there for a few moments, assuming they would respectfully give me a tiny bit of attention and nothing. Finally I spoke up and asked if one of them could help me. They all gave me snobby looks and the lead associate said "yeah" and walked over. I was definitely shocked at how unfriendly this woman was, especially to be in a management position. She asked me, "What do you need??" and proceeded to act annoyed that I would ask her to help me find a shade of foundation for myself. Then as she roughly started applying a shade to my skin she said "what have you done to your face??" I have a thyroid condition that causes my skin to be obscenely dry. It makes makeup application very difficult and makes me even more self conscious. To have a MANAGER scoff at me and make rude comments about my skin really put me over the edge. Even after me explaining to her that it was not something I had done she kept her rude attitude and didn't change her tone in the least. I've been in this store three times now and every single time I've received no help and rude customer service. I've asked friends about their experience and they won't even go here anymore because of how snobby and unwelcoming the women are. read more

Ok so I had a major purchase yesterday at this ulta location and it started off great. I had the help of a GREAT LADY I wish I could remember her name. Then I decided to get a facial and it was wonderful great great aesthetician names Kristy. She did a wonderful job and made me and my face look amazing. Welll then I decided to go check out. This is where it turned bad. I get to the register and ask to leave a tip ( its proper right?) for kristy. And the lady at the counter who one acted like she was too good for me and her her job. I handed her my gift card That was a big Amount. She looks at me and said "umm will you have enough" I laughed and said "yes it's got $$$) on it. So on and on she wouldn't check my rewards and claimed I didn't have any ( I did) and well on and on she told me to swipe my card so their machines wouldn't read THEIR gift card so she called a manager. This manager was nice until she couldn't get it to work either and to use my debit card or call the # on the back. I said " girls I don't have time for this. I have a Christmas party in two hrs) she looked blank at me and said " I don't care" then I said can't you do it manually because look at the line. Sooo so on she did it she BAM it worked. And I said awesome thanks. She circled my amount and THREW MY RECEIPT in my face and said BYE. So granted a great shopping trip turned great and i WILL NOT go back to this location ever. I tried to make an appointment at this salon for a highlight and a haircut. In the process of making this appointment the woman on the phone at Ulta (supposedly a manager) asked for my phone number (which I was OK with giving her) but also insisted on getting my address and my birthdate. Why would they need that info? I asked her why she needed such personal information for a simple hair appointment. She couldn't answer that question, she just insisted they needed it. There is something wrong with a hair salon that needs that much personal information. I declined to give her my home address or my birthdate, and she replied that if I wouldn't give her that info then I could not have a hair appointment at Ulta. What??? I really don't understand this policy. If you don't mind giving a lot of personal information to a hair salon just so you can get your hair cut, by all means go to Ulta. Personally, I don't think i should have to provide my HOME ADDRESS and my BIRTHDATE just to get my hair cut and colored. read more
