This location is always pretty clean and well stocked, but OMG this one older lady is relentless with the credit cards! She didn't even greet me this time around and was only pedaling the credit card the whole interaction, I literally had to ask if I my transaction was done because she was too distracted to do the usual cashier pleasantries. She made the claim that "it will go away" if you don't use it. Um hello??? Thats not how credit cards work! A month or two ago I went for a haircut. I think the stylist was named Yezabel and she combed through my hair for a couple seconds and then said she had to leave the room. She came back and told me I had lice. I was surprised she could see it that easily. She stepped a few feet away from me and told me she could literally see one crawling from there. She wasn't rude but I couldn't help but be embarrassed. I was in denial because I don't work with kids or put my head close to anyone at my office job. She told me she couldn't officially diagnose me because she's not a doctor but insisted that I had it. Before I wreaked havoc on my hair and scalp and had to go through my whole house, I decided I would go to a doctor. The doctor looked closely through my whole head with magnifying glasses and found nothing, neither nits nor live lice. All this time later and still no sign of lice now. The bill for that doctor's visit was $282 so that is pretty upsetting and stressful. I had a 1 star experience but I'm giving an extra star because she took the situation very seriously but just didn't know how to correctly identify it. Looking back, if she did genuinely see a bug in my hair from that distance, I think it was an ant because I've caught them on me a few times before in my kitchen. read more

Honestly if I could give this place ZERO stars, trust me I would. I live in Yakima and I was in Richland for a work trip for 2 weeks and I had set the store for pick up to the Queensgate location. I accidentally set a pick up order for that location, I called this place and asked them to cancel the order for me and they said that the only way to cancel the order is to wait 5 FREAKIN DAYS, or to go to Richland, when I live in YAKIMA, and cancel the order. Yeah like I'm going to drive 1 hour and 20 minutes to just cancel a damn order. And then I spoke to a manager to see if she could accommodate and she said that she would cancel it herself and I gave her my name and still hasn't cancelled my order, so she basically lied to me. This Ulta at Queensgate location is a FREAKIN JOKE!!! The Ulta at the my Yakima location accommodates WAYYY better than this piece of crap store. read more

I went here to get my senior prom makeup done and not only was it awful but I left in tears while being insulted on the way out. I was being very kind and understanding and trusting the process, letting her fix mistakes repeatedly. Then when we had no time left to fix anything I was trying to say that I wanted to take it off without hurting her feelings, she told me it was exactly like my photo and that my skin was just dry and I wasn't used to seeing myself in makeup. When the supervisor came over She told me it looked rly good and exactly like my inspo pic. As I was leaving I was trying to find a lipstick so I could try to do my own makeup as a last resort when a group of employees and the supervisor were talking about me only an isle away talking about how selfish it was and that one of the employees has her makeup fucked it for prom and she still payed 60$ for it because makeup artists deserve it. I've been a customer here since they opened. I live close by and am a professional woman in my 50's. It seems as though the customer service has become worse and worse. The last THREE times I went in, I was ignored. Not asked if I needed help. This last time I have 4 Ulta employees walk right by me without even glancing. I was looking right at them because I needed help (prior foundation had changed). Finally I stood in line and asked at the front if someone could help me at Benefit. She looked confused and said she'd find someone. I walked back over and waited at least 5 more minutes. Get it together! read more

Salon Review: Hair Color. I highly recommend Mary. I booked a last minute hair color on the same day in the evening. She called me in the afternoon to find out what I was looking for and to better prepare for my appointment. I arrived 5 minutes early and she was ready to go. She pulled out swatches and helped me pick the best color to tone down my existing highlights. She was super friendly and talkative. After my hair wash, she offered options for the product I would like in my hair. Overall, happy experience and would see her again if/when I return to the area. read more

Decided to give Ulta a try for a simple haircut, nothing drastic really just a trim and shape up the layers. Made an Online appointment with Mary, when I got there they couldn't find my appointment but Mary was free so they took me as a walk-in.... So we chatted about how I normally wore my hair and the products I use, all in all not a bad consult. We go back to the wash station and she suggests a $10 up charge for a deep conditioning, ok that will work my hair needs it. She walks to a closet and grabs a pair of latex gloves (which at that point I thought this is strange but with her hands in water all day long her hands may be chapped, so no big deal) and she proceeds to wash my hair, the gloves are tugging my hair and then asks me if I want her to do wash my hair a second time, I thought well you are the professional but it really doesn't ever need a second wash, so I declined. I thought well she is going to start the deep conditioning. In the past I know that usually requires more than putting conditioner in and rinsing it after moshing it around for a couple of minutes, then she rinses it out. We go back to her station for the cut, she is still wearing the gloves and they are still pulling my hair, she attempts to comb my hair out and it feels like straw and she goes to find a wider toothed comb. She starts cutting my hair and is talking with her coworkers and watching them apply makeup to those customers. Not a big deal until she asks if I would like a little curl blown in. Sure that would be great I say. She then proceeds to put so much mousse (a heaping handful) and some glosser in hair, making it even drier than right after the "deep conditioning treatment" and blow dries it with a big roller brushes. The end result was horrible no curl, dry dull looking hair that looked NASTY AND DULL AND DIRTY with absolutely no curl, none. It was so bad my bf asked me later why my normal soft shiny hair was looked and felt like a cheap wig. It was a sticky gloopy mess. Just washed it today (normally I don't wash my hair every day) and let it air dry. So I am straightening it this morning and geez so many jagged uneven ends, I have had a better haircut at any of the chop shops near my house. Really regretting spending over $55 for a $15 haircut. Guess I will remember you get what you pay for and schedule with my regular stylist in the future. Oh and already have an appointment so she can fix the jagged uneven cut. read more

And they kept asking if I was sure I wanted a "how to do your own makeup session" or if I just wanted them to do my makeup for a special occasion, when I had specifically signed up for a "how-to" makeup session. Because the location here is new, it's one bomb-ass store with all the bells and whistles of each brand. I found this store to fully stocked and better than most Ulta's I go to in Seattle. Overall the store is supremely clean and spacious, but most of the employees can be overheard gossiping about their personal lives. I hope this location keeps its top notch status and doesn't fall short like most others. read more

I would give this place 0 stars if at all possible. My friend and I went in today to check out some makeup and make a few purchases. We were swatching makeup like everyone in ULTA does when an employee politely asked us not to open products for testing and some brands did not allow testers. I told her I realize that and didn't open anything but several products were already open and pointed them out so she could take them off the shelf. That encounter was fine and just a simple misunderstanding. Next, another girl came up to us and said the same thing when we were only swatching testers from makeup revolution. I explained to her that the other girl already told us the same thing and we hadn't opened anything and continued to explain that several products were already open. She basically dismissed us and acted like we were lying. She was not nice to say the least. If that wasn't enough, a few more minutes passed and the manager came up to us and said that she had been informed by two people that we were damaging products and she had to confront us, yada yada. She gave us no chance to say a word but turned around and walked the other way. This is an unacceptable way to treat two makeup lovers who spend a lot of money at this store. It was embarassing and downright wrong. We did not open one single piece of makeup in that store and were treated like near criminals. We each had a bag full of makeup that we had planned on purchasing, but put it all back and drove ourselves to the Kennewick location where we were treated delightfully. I cannot even explain how I felt leaving that store today but I can say I will never step foot back in that store again. I will go to Kennewick or purchase my products online. My advice to those employees is maybe they need to do a better job at their store with their inventory and pay attention to the people who really do open products. In fact, I was at this store probably 2 weeks ago and can say that several of the same products were open then so clearly no one is doing their job by taking them off the shelf. I will also tell my makeup loving friends to stay away from this place. You ladies should be ashamed of yourselves. read more

Let me start by saying I LOVE my hair color and have never gotten so many compliments on my hair. Fabi does a great job. My two star rating has nothing to do with how my hair looks. It has everything to do with the cost and how Ulta decided that cost was/is the most important thing. See, I know that I'm going to pay $150-$200 when I get my hair done at Ulta. I'm okay with that but I'm NOT okay when the stylist undercharges me and then I get TWO calls the next day from the manager asking me to come back to the salon and pay the difference. I have a really hard time believing that hair color costs so much that the salon can't just eat their mistake. It's what all other businesses do! But more than calling me to come back in and pay the difference, I was then OVERCHARGED when I did return to the store to pay. My stylist used fewer foils then she had on previous visits and only did a root touch up instead of an all over hair color and yet, when I returned to take care of THEIR mistake, I paid more than I've ever paid. I didn't want to do a public review so I complained to Ulta corporate. They referred my complaint back to the local store and I never heard from them. The local store told corporate that they had called me and left VMs however, I never received a VM or a missed call. In today's cell phone age, you can't really get away with lying about trying to contact someone. So, despite loving the way my hair looks, at this point I'm unwilling to give the salon kudos. read more

So disappointed. I went to get a free 14 piece with bag with purchase of 15$ of Ulta brand and bare minerals spend 40$ and get free bag with 4piece bare minerals products. First let me say I had to ask for the items at cashier she played completely confused and acted like she was looking for about 3 seconds ,can tell their wasn't nothing their just something with plastic and then said sold out for the bare minerals. I got the free 14piece of Ulta bag because it was right in front of the store, as i walk to the door to exit I hear her(Kylie the Cashier) speak to another employee and laughed that they didn't give me the product... (Kylie is the one who lied about not having the 4piece bag). I then went home looked through magazines saw it was the bag of the 4piece that was displayed in the middle of the store. I called the store they said they still have bags. I explained my situation over the phone, (GWENDOLYN) I was called a liar and couldn't even finished a sentence. Finally she hears me with out interrupting and says to come get it. I was very excited for this location to open considering it is close to my work. Unfortunately I have only been there twice and the experience was horrible. I wanted to try the new Urban Decay mascara, but it wasnt for me. Went to exchange it for my usual "Theyre real" mascara I love and had the extremely unfortunate experience of dealing with a rude cashier named "Autumn". She said that is what her name is, although she was not wearing any form of nametag or identification. My original purchase was around $80, I was given a nail polish sample, so at the exchange, I requested a skin care sample, or even makeup sample, considering I work in the medical field and never wear anything on my nails. I gave the unused nail sample to the cashier. She slides it back to me and tells me it's already scanned out and its what goes with my purchase. I purchased urban Decay mascara, Anastasia brow dip, and a makeup brush...How does nail polish fit with any of that? Not to mention a brand I'm not even familiar with? I explained to her I simply can't use it and don't want it, but I am shopping for skin care and would really like to try new skin care brands of she has any sample packets or anything. Again, she literally told me no and that she wasn't going to exchange it for anything. Needless to say I left the nail polish sample and told her how ridiculous she sounded. Since Autumn was so rude and made it clear she wasn't interested in helping me as a customer, I went online and spent over $200 at Sephora on skincare. read more
