I would never utter a bad word about Ulta, but I would Ulta a good word about them, which is that of all the make up stores Barbi visits, Ulta is her preference. This is not our favourite location of Ulta, but they still have some pretty good fancy makeup, and yes it's expensive, but it never bothers me because lots of cute people shop here and that's one of the reasons we like it, it might be the main reason I like it. It's a location we rarely come to. It's way out in Richmond off of Highway 6 and it can be a little bit quieter than some of the city locations and can have better stock as well, which is why I decided to give it four stars, even though service wasn't amazing and the clientele wasn't as amazing as next to our house in Upper Kirby. Barbi was the one that insisted I give it 4 because she found both things that our regular Ulta and our alternate Ulta were both out of. read more

I had the "pleasure" of being attended to by Shelley-Marie. Her cold, rude, condescending demeanor was the exact opposite of the service im used to at this location. She was extremely friendly with the people in front of me, then suddenly, flipped to rage while attending to me. I was there for a return and she took the item from me, inspecting it saying "thats odd". She then proceeded to ask for the receipt and issued the return. Her attitude was a turn off and she is not a person of value to this establishment. She may feel like royalty in her shallow mind, but when she is on the clock, she needs to be respectful and hasty on the register. Please find a replacement asap read more

Customer service is horrible . Waited for someone to come to the perfume section for the longest time. I had to go to the front myself and ask to send someone . The saleswoman was nice and helpful . Once I get to check out , I say one second and turned around to see get another product. The cashier then say " I can take you ma'am " and ask her for her number as if I'm not standing there and my number is already entered in the system . Then she said " I can take you after her " . I have never really been a fan of Ulta. I don't really know why. Probably because I don't wear a lot of make up. This location (as well as others) has "alarms" on the perfume and cologne. The whole tine I was shopping all I heard was beep, beep, beep. No one was even by them. Pretty much if you need any makeup(high end or drugstore), shampoo, skincare, perfume/cologne (men's and women's) blow dryers, curling irons, hair accessories and a ton more stuff this is the place to go. They have a rewards program. And you get a "gift" for your birthday. read more

It is clear that the holiday season has really put store manager Jenny in a horrible mood. I asked to return my recently bought purchase, in order to purchase 1 more item and use the 20 dollar coupon. Disgruntled Jenny quickly approached and stated that was not possible, and she had me on camera. As If I was a thief. Quickly after calling corporate I was informed Jenny simply made up her own policy, because Ulta's corporate headquarters had no clue of this policy. Major changes need to be made in this store and the 1093 store, there's a difference in customer service in trying to be nice and in fairly trying promote production just to meet store goals, staff really aren't genuine in recommending products and I was grossly mislead and way way over charged at the salon at the Bella Terra Salon, Rachel...I've been an Ulta loyalty member for 12+ years.. really rethinking my loyalty. read more

This review is strictly on the salon service that I did not receive today. I had an appointment at 4:30pm with Bushra Ghanchi to remove color from my hair. I get there at 4:20pm and was told she wasn't there, that she went home sick but they were putting me with someone else. I did not receive a phone call from Bushra saying she wouldn't be there, didn't receive a call from anyone at the salon asking if I wanted to reschedule or would I be okay with seeing another stylist that's on a lower level. Why would you put a customer with a lower level stylist???? Where is the customer service here? They sure can blow up your phone/email with announcements/sales etc but when it comes to saying your stylist isn't in - it's dead silence. This isn't the only issue I've experienced with the salon department. The last time I went a stylist had her young daughter, maybe 12/13, sweeping, cleaning the counters, bringing her supplies etc. It looked like the stylist totally overbooked herself. I was a young single mom and I know it can be challenging at times but a child should not be cleaning up in a salon period!! Where is the leadership/management? They really need to revamp the salon and apparently need to have a supervisor in the salon at all times in order for things to function in a professional manner. I was rescheduled probably three times because I guess their online system is flawed and she (Rachel) always had another client "scheduled at the same time." And go figure... come the appointment day, I get a call and she wants to pawn us off to someone else. Rachel colored my friend's hair, so I thought I'd give her a shot at cutting my child's hair. But nope, I guess she rather have another client take that time slot so she can make more money since a kid's cut is only $25? Since we were rescheduled so many times and we were already long over due for a cut... I said sure why not as long as they don't mess it up. But she said, not to worry because this stylist "could do it." What was the end result? My daughter's hair was uneven everywhere and the stylist said she forgot her scissors at home. I was watching her cut and those scissors were dull and kept messing up on her... she was a nice person but yeah, never going back. read more

Ok......I get it.....even though the stupid mask mandate has finally been lifted, when I walked into your store, there were about 4 employees and a couple of customers who were just staring at my maskless face. When I said, "of, you still need a mask in here?" Some Karen of a manager, "YES, we are a service industry!" FFS! So they gave me a mask, but did anybody even ask if they could be of any assistance? I walked around for a good 20 minutes and was never approached by a single employee.....guess they were ALL manning the front door to make sure the dreaded non-masked people dare not enter to spend any money. I had my hair cut several times at another ulta. I was going every other week to get my hair trimmed, colored, or just styled because the hairdresser was awesome. I always walked out of the other ulta with compliments. Unfortunately the hairdresser I was used to at Eldridge Ulta no longer works there, so I decided to try a new Ulta closest to me. Horrible mistake. Despite my telling the new hairdresser (salon manager) I was very pleased with the quality of service and cut of my previous ulta hairdresser she seemed to not care and think she was better than anyone else. She came across as arrogant and "right", even when asking her about product, if I said I didn't like a certain brand after years of use, she insisted on it. I should have stopped there. But being I had a great cut at Ulta Eldridge I thought I could trust Ults Cinco Ranch stylists. Nope.. .. the lady at Cinco Ranch Ulta chopped my length and locks off, volume She thinned my hair which didn't need thinning. I don't know why she didn't follow the layers and cut I already had, loved and praised. Maybe because she didn't want to or was not skilled enough nor knowledgeable enough to cut my hair in the same way it had been cut only a month prior. The lady must have thought she knew better, like she knows products, b.s. Turns out the lady was over confident in her skills. She may argue with me that she didn't cut any length off other than the half inch on ends I asked for, but chuncks were cut out and cutting length off layers, is yes cutting length off. Now I have months to wait to grow my thick, long locks out. I will never trust anyone at Ulta Cinco ranch to cut hair, as this lady claimed to be the one to hire the talent. Back to the drawing board again I go to find a hairdresser. Which I will never understand, if a hairdresser has a first time client, smart ones don't dare cut off too much nor try a completely different style because you can always cut more later (on the next appointment if the customer isnt completely satisfied and wanted more cut). You can not put back length and volume. Even if I liked the hairdresser and the cut, Now it will be months before I need it cut again. I have to grow it back out and will only require trims which the women at Sports clips are very capable of doing without going overboard. Ulta lost me as a hair salon customer. read more

I get really shy and uncomfortable going into beauty stores like Ulta and Sephora because I'm not very good at makeup/a beginner, and I feel like pros who are working these places can definitely tell With that said, I've had good experiences at this Ulta! The first staff member directed me to the drugstore items knowing that I was beginner and gave good recommendations of makeup to use for someone who's not familiar with many products. She also informed me of the easy return policy, though I have yet to utilize this. The second staff member I interacted with was SO FRIENDLY. I felt immediately comfortable with him, and I wish I could make him my personal beauty consultant . I initially asked him for eyelid tape (to even out eyelids), and he directed me to a different product because he misunderstood my question. When he realized Ulta didn't carry what I was looking for, he gave recommendations of other places I ought to try, and he also had enough experiences at other Korean beauty places to give advice as to whether those places might carry the product. Along the way of our conversation, he introduced 2 mascara recommendations that I'm looking forward to trying next! read more

Wow I have been missing out. This place is great. I was thinking that this place was like a drugstore makeup version of Sephora- but they actually carry a lot of other brands like "they're real" and vitamin lotions that you'd think to only find at the Body Shop and TJ Maxx. I noticed the NYX selection here is HUGE though.. like really, I was just staring at all of the color varieties for 5-10 minutes not even touching or trying anything. Which to try first?! After searching for three years and this time being my First time ever coming to ulta for a salon service...I did however have a very good experience even tho I went in a little hesitant. The customer service from the door to the chair and register was really good and helpful. The girl who did my hair was Bushra, and she was very sweet and friendly. My cut was going from long to a short swing bob (bout 12 inches cut off). I was satisfied with my cut and service so I most definitely will be back. Very rude staff! No one is friendly or smiles. I went in with my two teenage daughters, I kept my comments to myself about the staff. As soon as we got in our car, both of my daughters complained on how rude the staff was. Despite another review on here, I thought the staff was too "mature". Come here twice a month sometimes more, usually spend $200+, the store is well organized, staff must turn over as there has never been the same person there twice. Today was a new experience, my SO uses Bosley shampoo, the product is always the last one, would stock up so I could stop making these runs. Might have it shipped in the future. Am a Clarisonic freak and spend $100 each month on their serum and another $100 each month on SeroVital (hmm not sure that is really worth it). I went directly to Smashbox to get lip liner, over to the Men's shampoo, picked that up and to the check out counter, encountered three sales staff. Not one asked if they could help me, I know I'm efficient but they could have sold me other items, their loss. Apparently they don't work on commission. Asked for samples on check out which they always ask what kind of samples do I want and did find a Prada sample that I like enough to buy. Gave them my $3.50 coupon off their mailer, and noticed that I did not get that removed off my ticket, FYI. Lauren told me she scanned it in but just now looking over today's receipts, boo hoo. Oh Ulta I hate to do it! I normally have a wonderful experience in the store but yesterday... the lady at the register gave me ONE Free sample of perfum ol after my purchase of over $100. I've gotten more samples from making a $49 purchase. You can notice I still have them a pretty good rating it's due to all the times before when the wonderful ladies always given me advice on products. There's a young slim Hispanic lady who is so helpful I hate I don't remember her name.
