I had to do a happy return and it was the first time I've done that at Ulta. The worker was very friendly and she helped me right away and got things packaged up. I also received a five dollar off coupon for using that service at their location, which was a wonderful perk. She said I would receive the receipt in email. As always, the store was clean and need there were a few customers inside a couple people asked me if I needed help but after I said, I was just browsing. They left me alone to check out whatever I needed. I will be back to utilize my coupon. They have some cute items for Christmas coming up. That might be good stocking stuffers or good options for Christmas presents. Always a good experience here. read more

Meh. I've been once and honestly, that'll probably be my only time. I wasn't really impressed enough to go to the location. I'd rather just shop my makeup at Saphora or Walmart. (Since this Ulta is its own separate building and location.) The place was clean, and deserted. I was the only customer other than one girl at the salon. Several employees walked by me and didn't even say hello. I was obviously looking and looking. I came in looking for a fun pallet of some sort for a gift and actually never really found one. I understood how the place was organized because the signage was good but I really would have liked a little customer service. I didn't seek anyone out; I had no specific questions. But if someone would have offered to help me find, or suggest anything, I probably would have spent more than $13. I really wish they had a clearance 'section' instead of stickers just marking what was clearanced in the brand areas. Now, maybe the marketing rules don't allow that, but I spent a lot of time trying to locate anything on clearance...heck, trying to find where the darn prices were listed in general...and almost everything marked clearance was out. Typical because it was clearance, but if the product is gone......why still have the signage there? Not like you're going to get new clearance stuff sent to the store. I noticed a lot of the makeup was slightly damaged or used. I had to open about 7 tubes of lipstick before I found the one I purchased because it looked like someone used it or it had huge dents in it or smudges on the outter tube. Not something I would want to gift. What really annoyed me was having to WAIT for someone to notice I was at the cash register. I was the ONLY CUSTOMER IN THE PLACE! You'd think an employee would have their eye on me in case I needed help. Nope. Now the girl who did ring me up was super cool and did her job well. I just wish I didn't have to stand there and look/feel stupid for so long before she came from the back of the store to help me. I buy Cover Girl anyways. You can get that anywhere. read more

*sorry for the long review but if you're considering getting your hair done here, please use caution* I came in to Ultas salon for balayage (I have dark brown hair). Before anything I consulted with the stylist and she was confident we could get the color I wanted and get close to the picture I showed her. It's been awhile since I did any color treatment to my hair and she didn't seem concerned it would affect anything. She even let me pick a blonde color swatch for my look. The whole process took 2 1/2 hours. I could tell something was wrong when she asked how long has it been since I last colored my hair, again, and proceeded to then said "it's not quite as blonde as we were going for but it still looks very cute." I will admit I was not wearing my glasses for the entire process and didn't see my hair until the very end when she styled it. She kept hyping it up about how it looked so good but it was caramel instead of blonde. She said that she can get it blonder if I want but I'd have to come back in 3 weeks and it would cost $95. Again, I had not even seen my hair yet and I was quite nervous to even look. When I was able to look, my stomach just dropped. It was not the slightest bit close to what I asked for. The worst part being I even showed her a picture and we had talked about it before we even started. There was no blending, and it was all one color-orange. When I moved my hair around it was patchy and uneven, no blend of color or anything. She made it seem like the reason my hair didn't take is because of something I did or the color I did before, even though I had told her this before we even started and it wasn't an issue, it apparently was now. The whole thing ended up costing $150. When I had made the appointment I was told it would be $65-$115. She said that she gave me a 'discount' and they also added on a deep conditioning treatment which was another $20. Non of it even adds up to me. I was completely unaware of the extra $20. And quite honestly I don't feel like I should have even had to pay for this. And now if I go back for her to 'fix it' and make it blonder, I'll have to pay $95 more dollars, which will likely be more since they have surprise charges they don't even tell you about. My hair is dry and feels like straw now. I was mortified to leave my house or even go to my job, now imagine I have to wait 3 more weeks before she can fix it. I ended up going to Walmart and buying 2 boxes of brown hair dye and deep conditioning treatment (another $30 to fix this) before I had to work the next day. In the end I have spend close to $200 on my hair and received nothing out of it besides ruined hair. This whole experience has been humiliating and disappointing. You are a BEAUTY & HAIR store/salon. My stylist told me it would cost $120 for "color correction" at the start of the appointment and then ended up charging me $260 for brassy hair and chemical burns.
