Went in before my bday looking every bit of 60 eith long grey roots and very scraggly hair that was falling out all over. As usual Ray worked his magic gave me red violet color and a short bob. This really gave me back some dignity from my thin hair falling out. Everyone loves it. It looks much thicker and everyone says I look 10 yrs younger. This place is always a mess. They never have stock of items, don't even attempt a free gift with purchase. Never gave it. I went to this location on Tuesday July 25th. I asked for a product that would be good for my hair and hair extensions. The manger in the front walked me to the back, where I spoke with 2 stylists. One of the stylists told me that Bumble & Bumble primer would be great for my hair. I confirmed with her again that it would be ok for my hair extensions. She stated that it was a great product for hair, extensions, dryness and uv protection. On Thursday July 27th, I used the product for the first time....my extensions started falling out!!!! My hair became matted. By Sunday I was in so much I called Ulta to get an emergency appointment because now my hair was so matted and heavy. I have chiari malformation - so extra weight on my head and neck causes extreme pain. I could not even brush my hair. My extensions were either falling out or matted into my real hair. I spoke to 3 different people at Ulta (All stated I SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN RECOMMENDED TO USE THIS PRODUCT.... IT IS NOT FOR EXTENSIONS!!!!!!) Ulta stated they were too busy and there were no appointments available. I went to the hair salon next door to them to try and get some type of relief. They told me i may have to shave my hair completely off and could not believe how much damage this product caused. There was nothing the my could do so i left. During the conversation with Ulta when I tried to get an appointment I was adviced a manager would call me....well as of yesterday (August 3rd) 4 days later - NOT ONE PERSON CALLED ME. I flew home to Michigan and saw my hairstylist first thing Tuesday morning. It took my hairstylist 6 hours with the help of 2 others to get the matted mess out. All of my hair extensions are completely out. My hair is completely destroyed, thin and cut so short now. This is absolutely ridiculous!!!! I am completely disappointed at Ulta for so, so many reasons. Not only am I dealing with short thin hair .... now I'm out the money from my hair extensions, the price having them put in, the cost of the product, the cost of 6 hours at my hair salon with 3 stylists. PLUS I'm getting married soon and now my hair is completely destroyed for my wedding!! Almost 2 weeks later and I have not heard from ANYONE at ulta!!! read more

Worst customer service ever. The older lady working sunday night February 26th was the rudest sales person ever. Ulta executives please hear your customers, train your staff on customer relations. This particular woman had 10 minutes before closing. I was about ready to spend $300 on Este Lauder merchandise. This woman would not even try to find the box of lotion I was looking for. She told me, "Find it yourself." She definitely wanted to get out of the store, her day was done. I left with 6 minutes to spare before she would have thrown me out. I went to Ulta Viera yesterday, I received White glove service from a couple of amazing ladies. Needa who helped me with a bare minerals match along with making sure I always look amazing, by choosing the right products for my skin type/age. The knowledge this lady has and the charisma and kindness is beyond anything you would expect. And then to top it off I checked out with a young lady named Becca who was patience and sweet and again very knowledgeable. These two ladies exhibit professionalism and are true Lady Superheroes! She's been doing my hair now for years and although we have used color remover several times, bleached it, and turned it many many different colors, my hair is long and healthy and beautiful. My mom and I came in to knowing exactly what we wanted. My mother wanted to replace her bare minerals powder foundation and Laura mercier blush with Clinique's equivalent. Destiny greeted us right at the door with a genuine hello asking us what she needed help with. I told her what we were looking for and the shades of the previous brands. She matched my mother on the powder foundation perfectly on the first try. Destiny also gave is 3 options for blush, and my mother chose a matte rose color. She asked what else she could get us, but that was it. However, the Biolage display at the front door reminded me the liters were on sale. Therefore we absolutely had to get a shampoo and conditioner set. The line was long to checkout, but moved very quickly. All in all, I can't wait to take my mom shopping here again. I see Lauren at the Salon every 4 weeks or so to maintain my haircut, and the service she provides is so worth every penny and then some! She is friendly, professional, upbeat and knowledgable, always taking time to explain what she is doing and why, or what products would work best for my hair etc. I have not personally received any color services from her, but I have seen her work both at the salon and on Instagram and she is a wizard at chemical and color services, balayage, color correction, you name it, and she is certified in every color line they use here at the Salon. I have had several perms done before with my long hair with no issues and the stylist was trying to tell my my hair had to be cut shorter to show wave. I would give a no star if an option. Tried reaching out to company to my dissatisfaction starting on 2/13, left bad review under google and got a corporate response on that review and to reach out to them, did that on 2/25 and was told the salon manager would contact, but did not receive any call or further email. I have heard a lot of good things about Ulta, and they are all true! What a great place to purchase cosmetics, hair accessories, and so much more. I visited the store in the Avenue's in Viera. When you enter the store it causes sensory overload, but in a pleasant way. The store is large and it is organized by cosmetic companies. I was looking to purchase Bare Minerals products, and it was easy to locate. They have cosmetics in everyone's price range. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They have staff available to assist you with testing products before you buy. I like that because I have frequently purchased a lip color, got it home and hated it. The store has gift boxes for that special someone. Guys this would be a great place to go and buy a gift for your special someone. The store has hair products, perfumes, pretty much anything you can think of. They even have a salon in the back of the store. I haven't been there, but it looks like a full salon. Ulta offers a membership card for free. Every time you purchase something they will scan your card. You build up reward points that earns you money off future products. I have naturally curly hair, and she is the first stylist that I have found in many years who actually *gets* curly hair and the fact that it has to be treated differently than straight tresses. She has also refreshed my color, and is the ONLY one I trusted to make my long-time dream of having some purple highlights come true. Alex is extremely knowledgeable about her craft, and always willing to share tips and tricks with her clients. My appointments feel like a relaxing visit with a friend as opposed to my past experiences of being stressed about how a stylist might wreck my curls. Beyond terrible customer service . The three times I've went in there I was never acknowledged . I even tried to ask for help on getting my brown color with the ABH promade and the lady handed me a random color that barely matched . When going to check out in a line of 20 people , there was one cashier . It took her 4 times to ask for help but all the other employees were too busy gossiping . Finally the manager Amanda came to help . I asked her if I'd still be getting my 2x birthday rewards because I activated them . She said "Well did you activate it?" I said yes . (what I just said) and she replied with "Then it's OBVIOUSLY going to account for it" . On a separate occasion my aunt was going to use a 20% off coupon and another manager Echo said it's already been used . Then proceeded to take her phone and search through her emails for more coupons . When my aunt said I don't feel comfortable with you looking through my phone when I only gave it to you to scan a coupon , she replied with "well you gave it to me so I took that as an okay to search it" . Then she began shouting down the line of registers to ask if anyone had a coupon to scan because she's "already overridden a bunch of coupons and I'm not about to override another" . Do not recommend hair salon, I booked an appointment for highlights, they tell you a price over the phone and then once you're there the price changes depending on the level of the person who's doing your hair, I think that should be explained to you before your appointment. 4 hours later, I walked out with low lights, They tried to change the toner but still was ashy, I had to leave since they were about to close. I spoke to a manger and they gave me another appointment and now my hair looks completely brown, the highlights I had before are barely noticeable. The manager, Mona, is amazing, but I only know that after she was able to fix my hair back to a normal appearance after another stylist there literally left me with bleached out yellow, pink and orange hair 7 days before my wedding. The first stylist (who I had seen before, and assured me that the picture I showed her was no problem and would be easy to do) took on a project that was way beyond her skill level knowing that I was getting married in less than a week. I have lost additional hours at work trying to get this fixed and the stress level added to pre-wedding preparations is absolutely unnecessary. I had been going to Ulta for several yrs at the Palm Bay rd location in Melbourne and have recommended it to many people because the stylist were excellent. My recent experience with the stylist there was horrible. I was being charged triple what the other two stylist charged me the last 2 yrs but this new stylist wanted to charge me a rate that was 3 times what I was being charged previously. She said it was because the other two did not charge the proper rate for tape in's. She told me as I sat down for my appointment. I would have appreciated if she had let me know she was planning on doing this before my appointment. She had called to confirm my appointment, but failed to mention instead of 120.00, she would be charging me 250 and more. I got up from my chair and left. I had been planning to use my Ulta card for 5x points for using it in the salon. This salon has such a high turn over and instead of worrying about my hair they seem more concerned with charging you the maximum! And they expect a tip! It's incredulous how a service business has become so entitled and customer service is out the door. My opinion is very poor on Ulta and I do not recommend you go there at all. All around and go to stylist that enjoy their job and take pride in their work. I did go up front to complain but of course the main manager was no where to be found. I am a diamond client and thus is how they treat you. I feel very upset she laid the price on me right at my appointment instead of ahead of time. Shout out to Ulta Beauty in Viera!!! Saturday was my daughter's junior prom and she had a hair appointment at a salon in Melbourne to do her updo. We made the appointment over 2 months ago. When we arrived for appointment, we were told the stylist called out sick and they would not be able to do her updo. As you can imagine, we were horrified! After our shock and disappointment, we started calling around to find a salon (on prom day and a Saturday) to style her hair. No luck. Since my daughter had a 3:00 appt for makeup at Ulta, we made the desperate call to see if they could do her hair. I didn't even get the whole story out before the salon manager, Mona, said "Come on in, we will take care of her" . Total relief. Then, when we arrived, my daughter's favorite makeup artist, Kyla, (who is also a fabulous hair stylist), moved one of her appointments and did her hair and makeup, which was absolutely amazing. She looked like a model!! I am so impressed and thankful. We are now Ulta customers forever! Thank you so much Mona, Kyla and Ulta Viera!! read more

I really have mixed feelings about this Ulta. I wanted to like it, and I was happy to have one so close to home, however the service I received there has always been less than stellar. In addition to this, they are always trying to upsell everything. If you're at the salon, they try to push their skin bar services. If you're in the makeup, they push the salon. I don't like this at a beauty salon. You're there to treat yourself, not be pushed to have services you didn't want when you walked in. I used the Salon at this location for about one year, always going to the same stylist-the manager Mona. It is very clear that she is pressured to perform ($$$) from her management because the bulk of the conversation had while doing my hair was spent talking business, and this was largely negative in nature. She would also complain about the previous Ulta location she worked at. I don't find this to be very professional. She tends to have a negative attitude toward customers - blaming them at the outset for not properly caring for their hair previously, or for having their hair done at other locations prior to coming into her salon. While she would never say this to the customer, I've heard her go on and on while sitting in her chair. Talking negatively about a potential customer while working on another is very poor form. She would also complain if a customer didn't like their hair at the end of a service and she would have to fix it. Again, you are working on a customer. Don't let them hear you badmouthing having to fix a customer's hair. It tells them that you won't care about whether they like their hair either. If it was another stylist who did the "bad" job, she would gripe about them and how they should never have done a, b, c in the first place. As a manager, if they don't have the training to perform the service, don't allow them to do the persons hair. Be honest with your customer and it will pay off in the end. As a manager, show a little more flexibility and support of your staff. Especially in front of your customers. And stop focusing on trying to level all of your staff up by booking appointments so they can charge more for their services rather than focusing on improving their skills. In regards to my hair experience, i was never impressed with the end result. I didn't have the time or energy most days to spend large amounts of time styling my hair, and I asked for a style and color that would wash-and-wear pretty easily without looking like a hot mess. I was pregnant and had a long work commute-waking up early to style my hair after waking up to use the bathroom all night wasn't on my radar. I was never in love with the end result. I continued to go back because I didn't have the time to find another salon and I kept thinking I'd give her another chance. I got tired of spending a large amount of money for an end result that wasn't acceptable to me. The final time I had my hair done by her I stated that I wasn't happy with it, and that I was tired of spending $160-200 and never feeing good about the end result. She apparently had somewhere she needed to be, as instead of offering to work on it right away, she told me to give it a few days and if I still didn't like it, to come back and she would fix it. I went into labor the next day and was entirely too busy as a new mom to come back. As someone who had spent a lot of $$ having my hair done there, you would think she'd be a bit more concerned about making me happy. I won't go back. It's been 7 months and I still haven't set foot in that store. The focus is on $$ and not on the customer experience. I'll be finding somewhere else to have my hair done and to shop for beauty supplies. read more

So I just went in and I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I came up to three young ladies who are willing to help me and I flat-out said I have no clue what I'm doing I'm a big challenge! The girls listen to me and then a young lady named Ivy went ahead and started taking me around and describing all the different products that would help me in what I was actually looking for. The one thing that I picked on them for but I only did it to play was Bare Minerals had a free gift with purchase. Unfortunately they did not have the free gift available so I was joking around saying they should take down the signs if they don't have the free gift. So what they ended up doing is giving me something else to replace the actual one I was supposed to get. Everybody is always so nice whenever I go there and I will continue to go there.
