I went here about 3 weeks ago to correct the hair cut and color I got at another salon. I cannot remember my stylist's name but she had been there the most years. She was amazing in explaining everything to me. I did not give 5 starts for the following reasons: 1) The price was out of the this world. I understand it can cost to look beautiful but good Lord that was a lot of money! Lucky to have a fiance that loves me so much to pay almost $300.00 including tip! 2) I had an appt set up and received a call that they had to cancel. The stylist I was supposed to see had to leave and she didn't give me the option to see someone else. I had to ask her to let me see someone else instead. It worked out for me though because I got what I feel was the best stylist there! 3) I didn't like one of the stylist that was there, she was being rude to one of her co-workers, even calling her the wrong name on purpose. I am all about respect and to see that as a customer it really rubbed me the wrong way. read more

I usually love going into ulta, but today was one of the worst experiences I've ever had! Not only did no one help me what so ever, but I was getting dirty looks from more than one worker. The women who I assume is the manager gave me multiple dirty looks so that I felt so intimidated that I didn't even want to browse through the store. I bought the naked 3 pallet and I was planning on buying more things however as soon as I grabbed the pallet I heard over the intercom "security cameras to section one" from the voice of the manager and after I heard this a man followed me through the store until finally I checked out. Will return to ultra just not this one. Never felt so unwelcome at this store until today! read more

HORRIBLE customer service! I saw an online ad and decided to visit the store. The store is gross and you can tell they don't wipe the outside of the products down and the items are dirty and dusty. I grabbed a couple body butters and a strawberry jam shower gel. When I got home I opened the items. The strawberry jam shower gel had been opened and had mold on the lid. Disgusting! I went in this morning and there are two cashiers one by the name of Bailey who hates her job. She was on the phone with someone and was being rude. I approached her and let her know I had come in last night and what happened. I opened the jar and she just looked at me. She just looked at me. No apology. Nothing. She said well did you want to exchange it. I said no. I did let her know I was going to grab a couple more body butters but was not interested in that shower jell. She said well go grab them. Came back and the other cashier had taken over. She was not as rude but when she asked if it was used I told her what I had told Bailey. Again no apology. Needless to say I love the body butters but the customer service ruined it for me. I'll stick to Bath and Body Works. read more

Usually the staff isnt so bad.. but lately they have been HORRIBLE!!!! Not helpful. I had rewards to spend.. and no1 was helping me look for anything so i got one thing and just wasted the rest because i felt so awkward and intimated. We had an appointment and waited one hour past it only to find out the hairdresser was only half done with the current clients purple hair dye. No apologies from her. Very unprofessional, the staff are rude and very prejudicial. I don't recommend this hair salon to anyone who lives in the Surprise area. Seriously go and do business in other hair salon, this one honestly lacks of seriousness and costumer service. Went in the store looking for Malibu shampoo for swim hair...they didn't have it and no offered another product...I then asked how much a blowout was and they oddly looked at me and said 20 something.... I really love Ulta, especially this location. Have always had good luck with helpful, curtious employees. They are also great at returns. I took back some eye shadow and eyeliner that I didn't like once I got it home. One lady there helped me find the best foundation I've ever had and she found the exact correct shade to match my skin tone. I rely on the employees recommendation a lot of the time and they have great input and are knowledgeable about the products. Very happy! read more

I prefer Ulta over Sephora because the employees are less snooty. If you sign up with their rewards program they will send you coupons and promotions quite often. Great selection on beauty products including drug stores brands. I've been coming in recently to pick up a few things from this fairly new line called "It Cosmetics". The undereye concealer has the most aaamazing coverage for dark circles. So far I believe it can only be found at Ulta, QVC, and the brand website. read more

I love this place, they have so many makeup supplies and options. The hair stylists at Ulta are great, specifically Dana. She is the best stylist I've ever gone to. She fixed many of my hair mishaps caused by other stylists. I've never had any problems with her services. read more

I made an appointment with one stylist. The manager called me and changed it to ANGEL. No reason was given. I arrived. Before I sat down I told her my hair hasnt been cut for 18 months due to Covid. Twice before in my life I had been to a stylist and asked for shoulder length hair & it was cut to the nape of my neck. She giggled. My hair is past mid back and my bangs were passed my chin. I brought a photo. It is a face framing cut that used to be called perfect vertical in the '70s. The only change I wanted was the break to be below my cheekbone. She thanked me for bringing a picture bc it is helpful. Well it wasnt. There is zero reason my hair was cut they way it was. I got a bob to my ears-3 inches shorter than what I asked for. Nothing in the front is face framing or vertical. My bangs were supposed to be to the side and to my ear. She combed it back and it is so short, it hangs between my eyes like a turkey. I am going to an event in 6 weeks and my hair wont grow 3 inches in that time. SHE KEPT TRYING TO SELL ME PRODUCT and wanted to color my hair. That wont happen. Super p o'd that no one listens! Crap! Received a bad haircut from this Ulta the girl that cut my hair did EXACTLY what I said NOT to do. I actually had to tell her to quit cutting because she was taking too much off. She was more focused on the stylist cutting the girl next to us. This happened two months ago and today it was time to get another cut and I went to Arizona Hair Co across the street where the stylist fixed my hair and did a FANTASTIC job. I should also mention she has had a lot of clients this past month come in from Ulta because their cut or color was terrible. read more

I don't usually write reviews but I have been going to Elise at Ulta for my hair cut and color for about the last 3 times i've needed it done. I absolutly LOVE her! She is a sweetheart willing to please and just wants to make sure you are happy! On top of it shes a nice person to talk to as well as the other staff. Everyone in there is so friendly and fun. Also she gives THE BEST shampoo i have ever had!!! read more

I was given a birthday present that unfortunately had the contents missing from the box. I actually thought it was funny, as it had taken me 10 minutes to pry the lid off. I figured I would return it and explain what had happened. Sales girl was extremely helpful, she though it may have been the display that was sold. She had to call over the manager because I did not have the receipt. (Return policy indicates store credit without a receipt) I explained the situation to her and why I did not have a receipt. She basically insinuated that I could be a dumpster diver. I am not certain how Ulta makes a woman with obviously no customer service skills a manager of their store. Perhaps you may want to rethink whom you promote within. read more

This was one of the most terrible salon experiences Ive ever had. I've had my hair cut here before and even colored and each time it has turned out great, but this time is a completely different story. Upon arrival I asked for a cut and style ($38). After my hair was washed, I was put back into the salon chair to have my hair cut which couldn't have been thorough because it took about 3 minutes; from there my hair was blow dried and curled. Here's the catch: I showed the stylist a photo of curled/waved hair and what I received was a half of my hair curled and half straight- which ended up making my hair look like a rats nest. The worst part was when I received the bill of $79!! Without notifying me the bill was up-charged $40 just for a "heat tool treatment". So I walk out of the salon fighting tears and the embarrassing stares of Ulta shoppers as I try to check-out. I later call to see if I can have a redo or a refund and I come to find out that the Salon Manger is the only person who can do so and even better the Salon Manger is the one who messed up my hair in the first place. So I didn't receive any compensation and I had to rush to shower, blow dry and re-style my hair that I already paid $79 to have done in the first place before my formal event that I was then late to! Thank you Salon Manager!!! I will be calling the corporate office! read more

Everytime I go into this store it looks as if wild coyotes have run through the aisles. Very unkempt and messy. Packages open, makeup spilled, displays are soiled and dirty, inventory is a disaster area. So chaos looking it makes me nervous. I had a hair appointment - my hair had just grown out from having chemo. It was short and I was working so hard to grow it by every fraction of an inch and I explained that to my stylist.. I had been letting it just grow out natural and it was gray so I was going to rock the salt n pepper look. The stylist talked me into some kind of color blending - well after 3 hrs in the chair - after my short hair going to orange, then toned to PURPLE then finally to the color of a lavender aluminum foil. I just wanted out of there. $180. Outrageous. GO TO FANTASTIC SAM's do yourself a favor. Plus when you are sitting there customers are ravaging the carousels of products they have installed right by the hair stations. Very uncomfortable when you are having hair dyed and they stand there staring at you. Needs to be more private. Not a good experience I will never return. read more

I have a very busy schedule and called for a last minute appointment for a haircut. I have very long hair and I often feel like a bother to the stylist. I went with a level 1 stylist named Taylor (who technically isn't as experienced as a level 2 stylist). I arrived about 20 minutes early and Taylor greeted me at the front desk and took me back immediately. I gave her a pretty vague description of what I want.. "Just chop off a few inches, maybe some layers and tapering if possible" she asked if I minded starting with a dry cut then cleaning up after shampooing, I didn't mind and she went to work. I was a little concerned with how quickly she was flying through the cut, but when she finished in under 30 minutes (with a complete dry and style) I couldn't believe it, by far one of the best cuts I've had and for only $37?! Taylor was a sweetheart and even kept the conversation going while working her magic. I would definetly recommend her! Thank you Ulta Salon for saving me on a Sunday evening last minute, doing an amazing job and getting it done quickly! read more

I'd definitely rather spend the extra gas money to go to Sephora at Arrowhead than have to deal with the rude, unkind, stuck up women at Ulta. Finding help from staff is like pulling teeth, they are almost NEVER stocked with higher beauty products. I actually laughed when one of the cashiers rolled their eyes when they saw me approach the check out line. Word of advice, women if you don't show up to this place without being totally dolled up expect this type of "customer service". read more

Whenever I come here I feel like I get "pretty woman-ed"! Let me explain, unless I come in with a full face of make up and my hair done just perfect, I feel like the staff is rude and snobbish! I asked for some help getting matched and two employees just looked at me, and continued to talk to each other. I went and found another employee and she helped match my shade of foundation but didn't tell me of any sales or deals they had. At checkout I walked up with a smile and said "hi, how's your day?" And she responded with a straight face "phone number" .... wow, that's kind of rude. At least act like you're happy to help me. Or happy at all with anything! The woman never made eye contact with me and let out a big sigh when I asked for the mascara that was supposed to be free when you bought the foundation. When I got home and looked at the mascara, I saw it was only a test size mascara primer... not even mascara. I got jipped. Just made a bad experience that much worse. read more

I literally stood/ walked about waiting for someone to assist me with a hidden product and I was amazed how no one even bothered to look at me. usually the cashier associates are nice, but man can a girl get a greeting when she walks in?? I've been going to this store location for years. I buy all of my make up at this location. I went in today, 1.25.15, to browse around. I was on the prestige side of the store looking at too faced products. I was approached by an associate and I asked what she would suggest for a good brow kit and a make up setting spray. I could tell she really wanted me to settle for something and get me to the cash wrap which is fine. Maybe my son's diaper bag was alarming because it's a back pack and prompted her to be a little over the top? I don't know but working in beauty years ago, I can't say I wouldn't do the same. I specifically asked, do you have an Ulta brand setting spray and she said no and directed me to an urban decay one. My husband came in wearing our newborn in our baby carrier and the associate felt it was okay to rub my son on the head, twice! I don't know you, you don't know my kid so why it was okay to touch another human being without consent of them or in this case their parents baffles me. I told her I'm okay and I will look around. I walked over to the ulta brand products and the first thing I see is ULTA BRAND MAKE UP SETTING SPRAY! At this point I'm disgusted that a stranger thought it was okay they could touch someone else's kid and on top of that she lied. I will happily drive a little longer to sephora at the mall where, from my experience, conduct themselves with a lot more professionalism than I experienced today. read more
