I recently moved to Surprise and have been looking for a new hair salon. Arizona Hair Co had great reviews, and Daniel, in particular, received high praise. I booked a same-day appointment for a haircut and style, and I love that the salon offers online booking for convenience. The facility itself was spotless, and the rest of the staff was welcoming and friendly, making for a great overall experience. Daniel was amazing from the start. He greeted me with a smile, was easy to talk to, and is insanely talented. We began with a brief consultation where I explained what I was hoping for, and he took it from there. Before making any cuts, Daniel showed me where the length would fall--about 4 inches--to ensure I was satisfied with the decision. He didn't pressure me into anything I wasn't interested in, and the cut turned out exactly as I had envisioned. I'm fairly low maintenance with my hair, but after letting it air dry today, it looked perfectly styled, which is truly impressive. I couldn't be happier with the results. I got my haircut there and let me tell you... I have lived in AZ for almost 4 years. This is the first place to actually cut my hair the way I asked. Lex cut my hair exactly as I wanted... honestly even better than I wanted. The shampoo service was AMAZING! I can not recommend this salon enough. I will come back time and time again! Daniel absolutely NAILED my blonde hair. I came in with fresh extensions and needed my root highlight to better match my lighter extensions. He did my highlight being super careful not to get any on my extensions, he applied toner to everything to bring it all together and gave me a nice layered hair cut without getting rid of my length which is EXACTLY what I wanted. He listened to everything I told him and he made the work look flawless. He also just works so smoothly and without difficulty, as if he was born to be a hair guru. So just a little backstory, I'm very sick, I take a lot of medication for it, and it has had a negative affect on my hair. Went intoday hoping to do some thing pretty daring and different; I was hoping to boost my confidence. I am so happy! I'm probably going to spell her name wrong, but Braley is absolutely amazing. She listened to exactly what I wanted and was excellent in the areas that I was unsure of. I spent 4 hours for a root touch up (should have been a #6) and and a top weave of highlights leaving a shadow route like I had when I came in. I merely wanted my blonde highlights to be a little thicker for some more dramatic color contrast and this is what I got (see pictures, crying). When I was asked if I liked my hair I said to the stylist "absolutely not" he knew I was not happy when I left I even told the receptionist, but not once did anyone ask to make it right or fix it. I even explained to the stylist that my hair is crunchy indicating the severe damage that was done at his hands. I should have refused to pay at that point but I consider myself a Christian and did not feel that was the best way to handle it. I have been praying on it and trying to figure out how to best handle this since it appears that most stylist there stick together so I didn't know who else to reach out to. I was not given the owner's contact information or phone number so I decided to leave this review. $166 later and countless hair treatments, with now white, yellow and brown hair with dots throughout (yes dots/spots). I have thrown everything I can at my hair to try to save the little hair I have left from this session that went horribly wrong. read more

Im only giving this place 1 star because you have to, to give a review. This place is so inconsistent with the policy it's Ridiculous, and to top that off the manager doesn't get it. I like to give my business to places that give something back to the dedicated people that use there establishment. In other words if it's a discount for military or whatever. In my case they have been giving a10% discount for military ever since i have been going. Then all the sudden they said one day, we don't give discounts. Now i have found a lot of hair style places that do give discounts so i was puzzled when after all this time they said no we don't give discounts Wtf is up with that and to top it off they had no explanation for it. I moved to Arizona 27 months ago and my first haircut in a new city ended up looking like someone had set a bowl on top of my head and cut short my top layers. It took a long time to grow that out and I was very fearful of getting another haircut. 24 months later my hair is past my shoulders and my daughter recommended the Arizona Hair Co. in Surprise. After reading several reviews I scheduled an appointment with Daniel for a haircut. What a pleasant surprise to see the great job he did on my hair. He listened to what I wanted and what I didn't want and checked with me at every step of the process. MY LIFE IS NOT A DRAMA BOX & THIS SALON IS ARE WE SUPPOSE TO RELAX? 7 years later at age 61 years I was literally thrown out of this salon yesterday by sh, 06/12/2021 when it was 110 degrees out luckily I had my frozen water with me (most places offer the clients water) (dehydration) - this place is so unprofessional I will be reporting them for sure I was not having service I was with somebody that was & in the waiting area & chatting with a pregnant women sharing our experiences etc. & chatting with a cute 10 year old boy he was sharing to me about his Dad owns his home remodeling business & nobody wants to work so he has to go with his Dad, I told him what a nice opportunity for him to learn at a young age & his Mom was with him on her cell then she said o I get my hair washed & set weekly because she works way to hard to do her own, & I told her that is good that she has time to do this, & this lady went in the back then so I am going assume it was her. Was told after a complain from other consumers I have to leave in which going to call the cops on me to it was ludricist of what happened & I will be reporting this 110 degrees at 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm & I will never ever recommend - previously a year ago 8/2020 the last time sh did my hair, always feel like being kind to sh, I had a brand new white shirt ruined by the stylist from her sloppy dye work her reactions was like I did it to my self will you should not of moved she said to me & I said will dye on me they/she blamed me I was extreme hurt on this issue we finished & she stated (Tiffany) was there to I will pay for the shirt & I told her no she won't pay for my shirt I pay the cashier & left crying shaking because she was scaring - I mention to her I should never came although I was doing a check with her being the COVID etc. I do go else where, where its relaxing & absolutely no drama at all 5 years later, I am assuming on this last visit it was disgust although not with me, I did tell them I was not coming back for me anyway then yesterday was asked to drive alone with the client (deep heart I did not want to com & then I went to support) that I would not come back what a dramatic place this is its a & then 2018 she forgot to cut one side of my hair & I did not complain I felt bad for her for she was going through rough times & so I had her make the corrections to the length (she also brought me back to the wash bowl to rinse & I had a whole bath back there my make up was running down my face, & had to finish my hair with soak & wet clothes & it was freezing in there, also I had pictures I am to busy to be complaining right now as I am typing this but after I was bullied by the whole salon yesterday they literally gang up on me truth. no paper towels in the bathroom its filthy in there as usual I go somewhere else now & I was asked to go with somebody & should not went & subject my energy & goodness in this rat hole! I was the only customer. one person working the front desk, and three other employees sitting in the back and hair wash area playing on their phones. the front desk person looked at me and asked if I had an appointment.  I said no and asked if she had any openings for a trim. she looked at the three employees and not one said anything. she said I'll be right back. she went to the back as though she had to beg and plead for someone to get off their ass. so finally a person greeted me after i was asked to sit and wait. I was in shock. the girl who did my hair seemed to be flustered as she somehow dropped my phone, dropped her mirror, and somehow her comb flung from her hand hitting my eye really hard. as she ask what i was looking for, one of the other female employees got up and started talking crap to her about not doing her assigned work. i stayed and got my hair cut. she did a great job. i hope she gets the hell out of that place and works in a more professional and happier environment. my family and i will never return! read more

The first time visiting AZ Hair Co Ella did a great job giving me the cut and style that I was looking for! It was fresh and a little different than what I had in the past so I made my next appt with her! My appt was @ 12:30 p.m on a Saturday. I ended up being 10 min late for my appt due to traffic and not knowing the area well. When I arrived Ella already had TWO other clients she was serving! She asked me to "get my self a snack" and come back in 30 min! Given it was my fault for being late I did and returned at 1:10. Ella was STILL doing color with another client and did not even acknowledge me or let me know how much longer she would be. Needless to say, I walked out at 1:30 and will not be returning to Arizona Hair Co. So disappointing. read more

(First time experience). After reading previous reviews I called to schedule an appointment for deep conditioning and a trim. I explained to the receptionist that I wanted someone who was skilled with ethnic hair. I have curly hair (3b/3c). I asked to see Daniel as I noticed his name mentioned in other reviews. When I arrived to my appointment Daniel was extremely welcoming and pleasant and immediately made me feel comfortable. He took his time and explained what he was doing and explained different methods I can do with my hair going forward to keep my curls nice and shiny as well as promote growth. I was very satisfied with his service and I am happy to have found a stylist who was genuine and made me feel like he valued me as a customer. I will be back to see him again. read more

The girls are nice, it is clean and everybody wears a mask. Unfortunately the braids are loose. I paid $20 for braids so I could wear them for a week+... I'll be lucky if these last till tonight. Probably an ok place for a trim but definitely not for style or especially braids. read more

Made color apt. With Tiffany (Instagram name @hairby_tiffanylynn) after seeing some of her work on Instagram, which now I'm questioning if it was even really her work. When I got there, she said she would not be doing the color I wanted because it was 3 sessions to get the color. I suggested a less complicated color, and she still wasn't able to do it. I walked out with 3 different colors, blotches of all 3 colors, burnt frizzed hair. She pride herself on having 11yrs doing hair. What she did to my hair tells me she clearly has zero experience doing color and is just learning by trail n error. The owner Paula did nothing to fix the situation other than to offer me to go back in to have it "fixed". My daughter spent $175.00 for a perm from a styles called Star as it were over a period of a month sinve her perm my daughter lost clumps of her hair as see lost her hair thinking it was due to her pregency, when in fact she notice that her hair broken off at her scalp in a 2 inch area and that was just area she went to another salon tbey infact confermed to her that her hair lose was due to the perm, she went in and spoke with the owner and star and they refused to refund her the $175.00 she paid stating that she enjoyed the perm for a month. You didn't do a good job and you want me to pay more for your mistake? my daughter was upset it was her senior prom this was a big deal, another stylist stepped in Tiffany which has done my hair before agreed with the "stylist" the hair updo was fine! I originally went to the AZ Hair Co down in Avondale and had a great experience for 2 years! Please know this review is only pertaining to the Surprise location. I've been in twice. The first time the person doing my cut was nice but stated multiple times she was in a rush and wanted to get out the door to start her weekend. I felt that she rushed my cut and I still had a ton of split ends when I left which was upsetting because I was clear we could cut off as much as needed to get the majority of the split ends gone. A few months later I opted to try again, since I still had such good experiences in Avondale, and again was met with a rushed and poor haircut. The second time around WAS better but there was no care in trimming and the only thing that was done was adding in a single layer to my hair. When I left I looked like a puffball because my hair was so frizzy after all the brushing and little was done to prevent it :( I really hate leaving negative reviews but I won't be back and I hope that this review help others who are shopping around for a salon. read more

This place sucks... manager is useless. Consistently having her friends come in especially guys and never charges them. I was in there one time when the moment she left her employees said "boss is gone time to party". The manager doesn't even know she's not respected. They were dying each other's hair and everything. My son has been cut 2 times there on the ear from their old buzzers and when I brought it to the managers attention she acted as if she didn't care and offered me a coupon for the next time. i wanted to get my eyebrows waxed because i have been there few years ago and it was the best so i wanted to give it another try. but i was very disappointed this time, i didn't get mad or annoyed of her being so slow but i'm really annoyed of how she burned my eyebrows i didn't notice it until i got into my car i thought it was so just wax sticking but it was really painful. she also didn't get it all the hair i had to go home and fix it all. never going back again. read more

I went in for a trim. Got a ragged Bob. It has taken me 3 hair cuts to "fix" the hole in the back of my unwanted Bob. Will not go back.

The salon on Bell was not a good experience. I had to walk through clumps of hair all over the floor to the chair. The stylist was rude and gossiped with the receptionist about customers passing in front of the salon. I am not tender headed, but she used so much force in applying the root touch up it was almost painful . She also ruined my tee shirt with the color. When she said she was the manager, I was amazed.
