I used to get my brows done here and it was super professional. They would make sure I wasn't allergic to anything make sure I wasn't on any antibiotics, they would make me sign and she would map out my brows clip my hair back. I just went today to get my eyebrows done and it is not the same and it does not even look like I got my eyebrows done. I do not recommend coming here. read more

I went to Ulta in Warren, MI (in the Tech Plaza) because I desperately needed something done with my dull, dreary and tired looking mop of hair. I called earlier today and made my appointment. The woman on the phone (didn't catch her name, think she was a manager) was very pleasant and informative and registered my appointment (and offered several times that were available). I went in a bit early and waited until my stylist, Lauren, came in. My appointment was at 1pm and that's when she started. She greeted me as soon as she saw me sitting by the reception desk, apologized for needing to do a bit of prep before she could start working and got me in a chair as soon as she could. She asked me what I wanted and... honestly... I didn't know what I wanted. She asked if I had pictures for inspiration (I didn't) but I did show her a picture of how I usually style my hair when I actually do that. She asked me a few questions like what color was I looking for, did I want highlights, did I need a trim.. and we finally figures out what the hell I wanted lol. She was VERY excited about what she was about to do! She told me that she really loves when someone lets her get creative. I was very happy with her enthusiasm because I did walk in not really knowing what I wanted to do. She gave my several choices in color combinations and once all the details were finalized, she got right to work. Now... a few words about Lauren. She was very knowledgeable and really put me at ease regarding this kinda drastic change I was looking for. She explained the whole process as she was doing it, making sure I was comfortable in the chair, and has a kind and bubbly personality which is very well suited for working with the public. The entire styling area was impeccably clean, the stylists (there was one other) were wearing masks and gloves and put tools used on me (brushes, clips, etc) straight into barbercide after use. They used disinfectant to wipe down the plastic chair covers, counters and anything that I came into contact with. I HIGHLY recommend Ulta's Warren, MI store for styling procedures and purchasing makeup and any beauty related items you're looking for. I can NOT stress enough how wonderfully professional Lauren was while working with me. If you need dying, styling or anything hair related - call them and book and appointment with Lauren. UPDATE - After writing my original review below; Melissa, the salon manager called me and offered to fix my hair. I went in today and she did a perfect job. I feel like Melissa went above and beyond today for me to ensure I left the salon happy. A +++ customer service from Ulta. I also had my brows done at the brow bar by Angela. She was also amazing! I came in to get my hair fixed but ended up spending another 250 in the store thanks to Angela's suggestions. I am very happy with my experiences with this ulta location! Let me start by saying that this review is based solely on my experience in the Ulta salon. Whenever I have gone to Ulta, all of the sales associates have been beyond helpful. I feel bad giving a 2-star review because my hairdresser was a real sweet heart. She was so nice. However my hair came out terribly and nothing like what I asked for. I asked for red. I even brought in a picture. My roots also turned out several shades lighter than the rest of my hair. My hair looks as though I dyed it myself with box color. read more

I've been an Ulta customer for years. I have never had a bad experience, until now. I got my hair done (by a different stylist than my usual). I asked\paid for a full highlight (root retouch). I even showed pictures. I didn't realize how bad it was until I got home and took a closer look. As you can clearly see from the pictures, I left the salon still with roots! My hairs very brassy/warm and spotty/uneven. Salon manager offered to fix it, but suggested something I didn't want. I do not want on the scalp bleach or a spot treatment (with bleach). I was told to wait until my roots grow out and highlight it. I clearly have roots that could be highlighted and made blonder. I want a refund. My stylist was very pleasant. I feel bad to complain, but this is bad. It is not what I asked for nor wanted. $115 is a lot to spend, especially on hair that you're not happy with. read more

man this place was like visiting Walmart they didn't have anything i was looking for or trying to get when I was interested in a product..then some items looks opened or tampered with bc I see some kind of stain on the packaging, which is nasty..looked like lipstick.. there inventory seems low, especially for the stuff I was looking at..id want a specific color lipstick and there's none or there's only 1 with open or already touched packaging with smudges, etc. also employees didn't greet me on the way in or out of the store, which tells me they must not care for their customers if they dont even greet them.. not even asking me if im looking for a certain product and such.. this store needs a bit of cleaning otherwise, not bad I guess.. read more

Loved this place when it first opened. but the customer service has gone downhill. Stood in line with a bum knee while 3 girls stood/leaned behind the counter playing with the disinfectant wipes. Then when I finally got called up to the counter, the girl and one other employee proceeded to make plans to get a haircut from the one girl (after begging her to do it right in front of me). I'm standing there awkwardly with my things on the counter, and then finally after the weird conversation between the two ladies ended, I got to pay for my things. Worst experience I've had by far. Oh, I also found out that one of the ladies leaning up against the counter while I was standing in line was a supervisor. What a shame! read more

The best Ulta store. I have been to many different Ulta, this has the friendliest workers. This is my hair salon. Taylor, is the stylist you want to see, for your next cut, or style. She knows how to cut. I am in transition of going gray. Taylor knows how to slowly blend the reddish/ orange deposit color into beautiful gray tones. She helped me out by guiding me on how to let my hair go gray. Many years of coloring, so happy to go gray. ( lol). She is the kindest stylist. Easy to talk to. Thank you Taylor!!! The store is fully stocked on products. Clean, and professional, but employees are not stuck up. They actually help, and talk. (Many Ulta stores don't just my opinion) read more

Came across a very rude and disrespectful lady at the cashier, kind of tossing her pen for me to sign the receipt, giving looks, wasn't welcoming at all, honestly ruined my whole mood and day. I don't even want to come shopping at this Ulta location anymore because of this situation and a few other employees who get annoyed for no reason! Some are very kind and helpful which made me love coming here, but then again there are sadly rude employees like this one. My rating is for the brow bar! After searching g high and low and having a few bad experiences at this location (Angela) as well as Hall Road (Sam) I decided to give this one a shot again in hopes of getting a new worker. I called today and was scheduled with Emma a few hours later. I was there two days ago, I was waiting for my sister to pay, when she asked the cashier what were to prices of two of the concealers because they were suppose to be $10 each, since thats what was advertise in the store. My sister did not give an attitude. There was no reason too. She just kindly asked and the other worker behind the cashier (I don't know her name, the cashier was caucasian and the one worker behind her was African American) gave my sister a nasty look for even saying that the sign says the concealers where $10 and she shot my sister down with an attitude and said that she was wrong without even checking for her. She said "YOU WERE PROBABLY LOOKING AT THE WRONG THING AND ITS MEANT FOR SOMETHING ELSE" First off, she wasn't talking to her, my sure the cashier could have answered her question and checked for her without a problem. Another girl came and asked the worker that gave us an attitude if they sold eyelashes there and she said yeah with an attitude and the girl asked if the worker can show her where they were located in the store.. the worker rolled her eyes and shook her head, slammed the things she was working on and made her way to show the girl where the lashes were. She was not friendly. She had no smile. I get if you had a long day, but my sister and I work 12hr shifts before heading over to Ulta, we had a long day as well, but we still manage to be friendly with other people because you know what, they didn't do anything to us. read more
