I really can't say enough about my experience at Ultimate Beauty Laser Spa. At my first appointment I had a thorough consultation with Alice for laser hair removal. I had areas that had been previously treated at a different laser spa, as well as new areas I wanted to get done. Alice created a custom plan for my hair removal needs that was fair and affordable. I have black, moderately course hair and pale skin.. So basically I had to shave every single day and even after shaving you could see a shadow from my hair follicles. But plus side, I am the perfect candidate for hair removal! Ultimate Beauty was able to get my treatments started quickly. My full legs were my biggest concern and an area I never had treated before. The process was quick and professional. There was never a second where I felt uncomfortable or self-conscious at all. Everyone always asks if getting lasered hurts? I would most certainly not describe it as painful. It's a quick little stinging sensation that I believe should be bearable for people with any level of pain tolerance. And a huge plus is that everyone who works at Ultimate Beauty is extremely well-trained and experienced so they work fast. They will stop whenever you need to make sure you're doing ok and offer aloe, cold packs, etc. Every appointment I noticed my body hair lessening and lessening. Now I am virtually hair free and couldn't be happier. I literally NEVER shave. And one of the best parts is because laser kills the hair from the root, I don't have those ugly dark hair follicle shadows anymore or anywhere. Just soft, bare skin. I can't tell you how nice it is to have smooth, flawless armpits! Ha! Moral of my review.. Got here on a Groupon for laser hair removal. I have had laser hair removal on the past. I had a totally great experience, both in outcome and in my interactions with Alice and her staff. My hair type is barely darker than blonde -- translation: hard to laser -- and Alice did a great job at altering my treatment plan along the way based on my feedback. AND! I'm always in and out. Can I give this place zero stars?!?! I started going here in November 2013. I bought 8 session package and Alice included a 2yr guarantee! Plus my mom bought a six session Groupon. Started out okay. Hair was still coming back. They would change the settings and my appointment lengths anywhere from 4-12 weeks. They would say "oh, let's do 4 weeks." Then the next time 12 then the next time 7, like make up my mind people! I would find a technician I like then schedule with her only to come in the next time to find out she no longer works there or they rebooked me with a different person. Not professional! They really push to sell whatever they want. Every time they would ask if I was noticing results. "No" I would say. Then during the session the tech would ask if I want to buy leg and underarm packages. NOOOO! Why would I want to buy more if it's not working already?! I know they need to make money but seriously. What kills me the most. I bought bikini, lip, and chin packages. I bought the chin for literally "a few hairs." From the beginning they lasered my whole chin and underneath it and around. HAIR Began to GROW where it NEVER WAS!!!! I then read online that laser can induce hair growth?! I told them about this and to stop. Yeahhh, they stopped on that appointment but by the next I needed to have it done because, well, hair was there! SANITARY issues next! I had "missed" a few hairs down there so they dry shaved it and then went to my face and shaved a few there! EWWW grosss! What if I had an infection or something?! HEALTH CODE PEOPLE!! I blame myself for not smartening up. Took me until May 2015 to say goodbye to this place. I guess I kept holding out hope. I found a wax place in downtown Rochester who are fabulous! I go once every four works and love it! This morning I received an email saying my "anniversary" with them is up. Basically they said goodbye to me. Initially I had a not so great opinion about the business. It was not due to the quality of the treatments. They've worked well for me thus far. I think everyone's body is a little different. My opinion was due to a few different interactions I had with staff that were less than impressive. Too much push on selling something more expensive, and passive aggressive, sarcastic reactions from scheduling staff over issues that were simple things and could have been easily handled. However, I would like to add that after reading my previous review, the manager did reach out to me personally and apologized for those experiences. I thought that was very thoughtful. I'm giving as much as two stars because my microcurrent technician, Kara, is wonderful, talented, and knowledgeable. I love her. But unless you're willing to spend a lot of money here, there are other places to go. I was bumped today for a "big" client and had to wait 30 minutes on top of it without anyone telling me it was going to be 30 minutes (I have to take off work for these appointments and lose the income). I left without getting my treatment with a pit in my stomach. I do these facials as a treat for myself but I'm going to go somewhere where I feel more valued instead of like a walking dollar sign. I had a old friend who had absolute raved about her permanent hair loss after laser hair removal. Two years later, another friend was undergoing laser hair removal at Ultimate Beauty Laser Spa and highly recommended them. I scheduled a consultation in November 2015 with Alice and ended up purchasing a very large package including full legs, underarms, bikini, and glabella. Being "the perfect candidate" for laser hair as someone very pale with dark hair, I was very hopeful for long term/ permanent hair removal (hence my willingness to pay several thousands for this procedure). I had my glabella only done once or twice, after discontinuing when the front of my left eyebrow was undesirably removed. After religiously undergoing laser removal for over two years, scheduling appointments as recommended, the undesired hair loss on my left eyebrow is probably the only place with permanent hair removal! So upsetting for the money I spent and would not recommend this place to others as a result. Additionally, Alice once tried to sell me a skincare sample clearly marked not for resale for $20. Can't really help but feel swindled overall :( read more
